  1. Maybe in 2 weeks, you guys can come up with some real answers on the game's abysmal performance problems. Especially when it comes to PvP/warzones. Are you ever going to answer these questions with something other than "we're looking into it"? Or are you going to keep taking the coward's way out and pretend the questions aren't being asked over and over on the forums?

I don't get any problems with the performance of the game (and I'm not on some almighty rig). If you're going to play on an inferior machine you have to expect inferior performance.

  2. Her quest is related to companions later on. As you collect Lokin, and Temple there are interactions that can't progress untill you have them and have had the appropriate conversations with those companions.

    Mid affection spoiler for Lokin:

For example. Lokin mentions he will keep an eye on Kaliyo and then this leads to another little storyline with her.

  3. is there any other light armor robes that is actually not a robe but pants? just like the supreme inqui robe? i dont like wearing a skirt forever, i want pants for my toon

There's loads. You just need to know where to look. Remember that all of the social gear is light armour. The moment you get to DK you are sent to the social vendour who sells a pair of moddable trousers.

  4. Well, I do say that sorcerers aren't meant for PVP but I don't meant that BW meant this to happen. What i mean is. We are so damn squishy, be it DPS or healing oriented that every single time we get ganged up on. Unless we get some sort of decent defense that can make up for the light armor we use so that we don't get ganged up on like that for an easy kill, sorcerers are (albeit not by BW intentions) not a PVP class.

You do realise that when you get ganged up on your not supposed to survive? Everyone wants their class to do it all and always win. If you want that then an MMO isn't for you.

  5. Oh wait there is one thing i would love to see even more. A slight increase in force. As i never seem to have enough.

From someone that has an Operative, in comparison BH's & Inquisitors have a never ending ocean of energy. Whilst the Operatives have to work incrediby hard to keep their energy within the highest return point, Inquisitors/BH's can just burn through theirs with an even regen rate. Learn to manage your resources or play an Op and you'll find out just how much you have sitting there. (and don't forget that you can add an extra 20% to force energy in the Lightning Tree

  6. I know from a sorc healers perpective I can no longer heal hm/fps or ops because I Can't say i can keep the tank alive if the crap hits the fan.

I would advise that you LTP then.

    /troll

Where should it be that a class will be the best at something? Why should it be that a Sorc is the best DPS in the game whilst Merc is the best healing and Op is the best burst? That would just make the game one dimensional as all the healers would be mercs etc. The way that they are doing it (as every other MMO has attempted to do) is that if your tree is a healing tree you will be equal to the other healers and if you're a DPS tree you'll be equal to the other DPS but the only difference would be how you use that healing/damage according to your class mechanics.

  7. actually apple does this all the time, though its usually only a couple years behind not quite 10.

I agree. They add something new and to do that they normally take a few things out. If we look at the Iphone, they added the appstore etc but took out dual facing cameras, any resemblance of a good camera, video calling, many more that I simply can't think of.

TOR added spoken dialogue to 8 different class stories, this is a huge leap forwards and equally took things out.

Maybe if people didn't rush to end game and enjoyed the journey they'd notice this.

  8. Yes I think Ray should apologise, and not just for the chronically bad stories... pretty much everything this game represents as a Star Wars game and as an MMO and then for all the bugs and issues they've handed out consistently for months..

edit: there are other apologies I'd like also, I can't mention those seeing as freespeech is limited to praise of BW....

To bring some perspective. As KOTOR is heralded as the be all and end all game in terms of an RPG and WoW is for MMO's. Both had major bugs at launch. So should BW be apologising for there being bugs and set a trend of always apologising to fans?

The fact is that gamers are a bunch of whiners, MMO players are the worth whiners out of gamers. Although they won't admit it, BW knows this. So by sheer numbers it requires less RPG gamers to get an apology than it would an MMO. It's a classic case of crying wolf.

  9. Without getting into a debate about authorial intent, which I assume we are assuming a new-criticist stance (this makes me happy).

It took Vitiate over 1000 years to conquer HALF of the republic, while it took Sidious a couple decades of scheming to take over ALL OF IT. Yes, Vitiate may have been able to out-lightning Sidious, but that's not the quality that should make him better, seeing as he was probably born with such ridiculous raw power.

I have to say I agree with your method. You have to judge them by what they achieved. One man's fighting power doesn't win a war, even a Jedi/Sith. As we are able to look back in hindsight we have to look at who had the most significant impact on the galaxy and how they accomplished that.

This is a very complex question because Sidious was at a time when the Sith were much more organised and focused on the end goal. Therefore, all of his accomplishments built upon the work of Plagius and obviously Bane. Moreover, he was the son of a noble family and happened to be starting as a Diplomat when Plagius approached him. These types of issues helped Sidious to achieve his end goal.

However, Vitiate started with nothing in a sense. His legitimate father shunned him and he worked for everything he had. Then after the end of 'The Great Hyperspace War' he again started from virtually nothing to build the Empire up.

Due to this you can't really judge them fairly as they operated in completely different times and a completely different starting points. However it's worth a try:

As we see Vitiate shows both tact and military prowess. He was even able to influence Revan who I consider to be one of the most strong minded Jedi which is displayed by the way that he thinks for himself and doesn't get bogged down in ideology. But that's a different discussion. In my opinion Vitiate would have been able to accomplish the same things had he been in Sidious position.

Sidious however, never had to go against such opposition. The only thing I can think of specifically that would give him an edge over Vitiate in achieving his goals would be that he was able to mask the fact he was a Dark Lord of the Sith so well from the Jedi despite spending so much time in close contact with them. But I'm not convinced Vitiate wouldn't be able to accomplish this if he had wanted to.

Because of this I'd have to side that Vitiate is more powerful as although we can speculate that Sidious would have been able to accomplish the same he never needs to display it. From this perspective at least it appears to be a clear winner. Unless that is someone else can point out some evidence that I've missed which would suggest I'm overlooking how Sidious fared as someone able to create progress.

p.s. sorry for any grammatical errors or general bad wording as I'm tired atm

  10. Overall, it sounds like the only leg to stand on would be that the Republic should be restricted from using colors that don't occur naturally. Call me crazy, but I don't think that'd be a very good move, considering there are already issues with populations favoring Empire overall.

No there aren't. Ratio is 58% Imperial, 42% Republic. I'd hardly call that an issue.

  11. Well, if that's true, after watching the video for it, most definitely NOT the best way to kill off Revan. Geez.... Yeah, he was fairly epic, but I dunno... I just expected better from him. :/

Revan was only epic in his humanity (which is why the soldiers and Jedi identified with him so much) even when he was Sith. Don't forget he essentially gets killed by the equivalent of 4 Revan's (the 4 playable classes) so I would say his death is epic anyway.

I do sort of agree with you a bit though. They probably should have made it so that you do Foundry at a higher level as that way it seem more difficult and like he's a harder boss. That's only held back by game mechanics though and not to do with the story. You have to assume that whether you're lvl 1 or lvl 50 the bosses you fight wouldn't matter from a cannonic sense.

  12. I hope Revan stays dead.Yes I am a Revan fanboy and I think he was handled perfectly by Karpyshyn and Bioware both in the novel and in the game

I've stated the reasons in multiple threads

If Revan returns in flesh and blood we will have another great story destroyed by immature fans who want their personal favorites to be all powerful and immortal.

Nice to see some sense. I understand how people get attatched to Revan and I do love him as a character as I think he's the most human Jedi/Sith out of the Universe. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that he is superior. It just means that he is better in some ways as he isn't blinded by ideology instead he's pragmatic.

Canonically there is the possibility that Revan escaped, but there are no references to him after so we'd have to assume he doesn't make an appearance. Or not under the same name as he did before (and Revan would be intelligent enough to not go round telling everyone who he secretly is).

For those of you disappointed at Revan being gone, don't forget that your "strike team" are the heroes of their time so it's not like he died to common fodder.

  13. In my opinion HM serves the purpose of gearing up for NM's.

You don't really lose anything by having 3 modes though. If all you want to do is have story and NM then only do those. There's nothing really forcing you to do a HM over a NM. So really all you're doing is enforcing a gear gap on players that might not have focused on gearing up ready for raids at endgame and will then become bored as there is such a gear gap and then leave.

  14. The reply by Bioware on this is strange to me. They are fine with a board popping up at the end of a Warzone that shows a huge amount of metrics (including DPS) and allows players to VOTE ANOTHER PLAYER AS MVP BASED ON PERFORMANCE, but they don't want people to be judged in PVE, and so we can't have these same type of metrics. I just can't understand their thought process on this when they already have these metrics in game.

You can choose who you raid with. You can't choose who you PvP with.

That is part of the reason there is a leaderboard. The most that could happen is someone rages in which case you just hit /ignore

  15. I agree with you OP with everything you are talking about.

It is sad that so many in this thread don't care about the watered down quality they are receiving. Sadly that's going to be a standard in the industry going forward. It's happening all around us.

Perhaps that's what the playerbase thinks. I'm sure if you were to ask the community you'd find a statistic that says to bring Mon Calamari in as a playable race before DPS metres.

WTB poll so I can test this.
