  1. I've seen that these transfer are going to be 1 - ? how many different servers are you allow to go just curious the amount of server we would have to choose from if our servers are eligible for transfer? And is you entire account going to be transferred due to the legacy system?

    Thanks,

P.S. Keep up all the good work I am loving the game since the beginning and I can tell you guys are working hard to keep this game booming :)

  2. Good point.. LOL come on .. still looking for a good reason why SWG Crafting style will not work here.

For one they would have to make a whole new planet just to do it or an instance somewhere on these planets. If not then it would be impossible. The planets are just to small they would have to redesign a lot of things.

  3. SWTOR is too squarely aimed at the casual gaming Star Wars fan interested in an RP story to EVER be that kind of game OP. It is what it is. Good luck and have fun in Eve.

They do have focus on PVP just not yet they are trying to iron out the bugs and keep people happy at the same time. So please stop the incessant whining and either enjoy what is there or leave, be patient. I will laugh when the PVP in this game becomes revolutionary because the games setup has the ability to become just that and you guys are not here to enjoy it. If you don't understand the gaming development staging and marketing please don't blame them for trying and helping the community. No game company will put out a game with more than 1 years worth of content that's just dumb for marketing. So stop expecting it.

  4. Thanks for your post. While I don't agree with all of your counterpoints and you may have misunderstood what I was trying to convey (my fault), I respect your opinion.

What I should also add is that I will be back in the 6 month range or possibly pop in to help the few friends that stay. So I will be patient, but I'll still voice my opinion and concerns.

I appreciate your respect for my opinions as well but please to allow us get a better understanding of what you mean or are talking about you have to explain your opinions don't just give them or things like these other guys said will be said.

  5. For good PvP Tera will be coming out may 1st, it will be at least a hold over till GW2 comes out. It atleast has a nice combat system, but who knows how they will adapt it for Western play.

Eve Online has TONS of content. Just because it does not hold your hand and tell you exactly what to do 24/7, does not mean it has no content. Its a sandbox game, so no, its not going to have a personal story line just for you 'cause you are the "chosen one" along with the other 100,000,000+ other chosen ones. In eve, you are just another joe blow in the world trying to make your mark, hard concept i know.

Yes, we know eve has a grind, yes everyone grinds, but at the same time it does not feel like a grind. You are never in a rush to grind either, unless you need something now for a important fight. Theres no gear grind, 'cause even a frig is useful in fights, and even needed to be in the group most the time. Getting in to bigger ships only means more options, and is not something thats required to be useful. Oh, and good luck hitting the level cap in eve online, 7+ year old char's still have yet to come close.

Ok so if it had content can you or anyone remember what you did with out reciting what you did in PVP because again that is not content, content is single player mostly but group content against environment not players. I played sandbox games that had no hand holding and had far less content than SWTOR. When I played EVE for the few months that I did I found a small amount of content but not enough to keep me interested out side of the PVP. Every MMO is a gear grind sorry that is just the nature of the beast you do everything to get levels and gear sorry.

  6. Anyway I took more time to read your reply. see above.

A couple of things you should note; I didn't play WoW past L13-15 or so and that was years ago, so your references are lost on me and comparisons are just plain wrong.

Pokemon? Don't know what the heck this means.

For one I can tell almost all of your thoughts are from SWG grant it that I really liked SWG at the beginning really loved it. But most of the stuff that you want is not what most of the people want and that is want is going to win.

    Brick road quests

I would say this is the standard for an MMO that gives you content in SWG it had some content but not as much as SWTOR most of the content was from the players.

    World Map

It's segmented to allow for ease of use I find it very easy to use and helpful they way it is

    no walls

Come on bud seriously what world that has a civilization does not change the landscape and have you been to Tatooine, Hoth, and OMG Belsavis is huge

    Exhaustion

Yes they put this in to show vastness grant it I don't like it either but if they have no content for it would you rather another wall there or show that they could put something there later

    More Immersion

This game probably has the most immersion in any MMO I have played yet, Immersion is for you and your character SWG had some yes but you made it yourself the game did not.

    In-depth Crafting

Yes the crafting is less in-depth than SWG but the crafting was very confusing to most people but not me and I loved it it was great but they may get it to that point in the future.

    Play Housing

Your ship is your housing. SWG housing was great but it did get pretty ridiculous but it was really cool that you could create a player city but it cluttered up a lot of the planet for the content.

    Chat Bubbles

They already plan to put this in I think. But I do agree.

    Scalable and Movable UI

Umm... Not basics if the UI is good and well done no need for that I like it, it's setup is perfect for me. But it's not needed wanted but not needed.

    Pet Mounts

They are coming with these in the future they said and believe them.

    Mounts that feel right

I don't know a game yet that the mount that feel good except in Age of Conan is the only one I have seen yet.

    Community

That is not BW's fault thats your community's fault.

    Sharding/Instancing

Sorry but this is the best way to go about multiple people with today's graphics for games. Plus you can still switch instances and you can still talk to everyone so I don't see the issue.

    Non-Companion Pets

    Vanity pets? They have them.

    Gated

??? As in what can't go somewhere until you do something, is that what you mean. That is only till you get your ship and that's fine but all games have a linear core PERIOD.

    Open Worlds

Open as you can go anywhere? You can after you get your ship.

    In-Depth Harvesting

Ok again SWG had the best harvesting I have seen yet. But again very tedious more than SWTOR but most people don't want that so that's what wins.

    Taris

Taris is a city planet like Corusant and Nar Shadaa that has been destroyed what do you want out of that.

    GTN

I have to agree but it works fine just encompassing.

    Guild Halls

Again its coming be patient and no instanced is not a smart idea

    No Combat Delay

They know about it and are fixing it be patient

    Moddable Armor

This was made for the purpose for looks and nothing else.

    Open World PVP Rewards

They are fixing it patience again and SWG had none except for faction point I think

    Slow the level progression

This is all your choice you don't have to finish everything on the planet you can move on after you class quest on the planet and actually be under you next planet if you want.

Again I loved SWG and would love some of the ideas they had to return to my MMO but I don't EXPECT it and it won't make me say this game sucks because of it.

  7. Conceptually thats true.

but eve has a lot more strategy.

    Resources to protect and gain.

Illum doesnt really have any of that.

There is mostly nothing meaningful in the space to fight over BUT that can change.

That is why the game feels like a gear grind as that is all there is atm.

This is true for the most part but you are comparing a game that is 99% PVP to a game that is 75% PVE and 25% PVP it will be a completely different game they are focusing mostly on PVE experience to get you interested and if you like it then you get to see what they have to come up with for the PVP side of things.

Plus have any of you even been to the Outlaw's Den on Tatooine probably not... It is a free for all PVP area where anyone can kill anyone so the PVP possibilities are endless you can have a fight club or something similar like that if you felt like it anything you want but you have to work for it.

  8. No clue why people keep trying to compare TOR to WoW at release,If anything you need to compare it to current WoW or any other MMO that's on the market now not 7+ years ago. You wouldn't buy a cell phone or computer then justify it's lack of options by comparing it to one that's 7+ years old.

Seriously do you really think that an MMO will put out there first game with 7+ years of content without making you get at least one expansion pack yeah right be patient and wait for more updates and expansions. That's just dumb... And would be very poor marketing and developing.

  9. No, I want there to be an end game that does not involve mindless grinding.

I don't know about mindless but there will almost always be it because unfortunately that's what the masses want and that's what they get. I would love to have SWG back with a lot of what it had in the passed but that's never going to happen so I just play what I enjoy and not fret over what I can't have.

  10. Alliances invading other alliances and taking over regions of space is the same thing over and over again? Do go on with your logic. I'm all ears....

your still taking over the same regions over and over its still the same thing just spread out.

Yes I mean if you like that sure but if you have a corporation that has the most players then your kind of SOL because they can control more then anyone else. That's cool and all but that's a type of game for space and that is what that game is built around not PVE content and PVP content.

And Illum is exactly what you described but on a smaller scale. And may even expand into something more in the times to come.

  11. I would be happy to play for fun alone, if there actually was SOME fun.

    Where's the fun?

Maybe you enjoy your lame mechanics in a god-awful map, but most pvpers are looking for, well, DECENT PVP.

And on top of this disaster, what do we have? A PvP team of complete amateurs who think themselves able to balance skills and classes.

What about fixing the HUGE flaws in the very basic structure of the entire PvP part of the game and then focusing on balance details?

But right now, it's just rage and frustration.

Today I've been thrown five time in a row in a losing game already in progress.

At least four times my team started the warzone with 6 or 7 against 8.

Now this I do have to agree with you on but just chalk that up to ahole players that can't finish what they started. But BW could put a more strict deserter thing in the game for it.

There are 3-5 sorcerers in EVERY SINGLE *********** match.

    nothing wrong with that.

Gear disparity between factions is disgusting.

because of players again not the game for choosing the empire more over the republic.

PvP basic mechanics are a disaster. I have never seen a mmorpg with a CC system so totally ****ed up.

I don't mind most of the time you just have to be cautious and smart about your moving like it should be in any game.

    Reward system is a joke.

I was a joke now its more reasonable it definitely takes a while now.

One of the three maps (guess wich one) is apparently designed with the sole purpose to ANNOY the players.

that's because of players again not the game it allows for you to PVP without long wait times geez people.

Please find an MMO now that is better than this and if you say WOW your way off because its not. arena doesn't count because that's tournament type and not regular pvp... plus they are looking into it for later patches.

  12. At some point in an MMO, you are responsible for creating your own fun. The developers can only lead you around so much. Create your fun. This game is a baby. Give it a chance to grow and develop. Otherwise take a break and play the game that suits you.

Smart words and I like them because its the truth about all MMO's hence the name MMO... do more thing with others not worry about yourself.

  13. While your opinion is, um, admirable, the last several MMO releases have shown that - if you can't deliver your intended experience to players within the first month, you will lose them. You don't just have 6 months to take your time and get it all right.

Look at GW2. They haven't and won't declare a firm release date because they are committed to their product ON DAY 1. Something that TOR (as surely influenced by EA) was clearly not committed to. They put the burden on us to slog through a buggy, unstable, unresponsive game until they had time to fix it.

Let me tell you that you are in the minority. People don't play a game for 6 months waiting for it to get better. There is competition, and it's stiff.

I don't believe in competition in gaming either you like the game or you don't and if you don't like the game because of bugs then leave and with will play it till it gets fixed welcome to the MMO community it happens I have been playing in MMO's since EQ and have played nearly all of them (MMO's that is). So be patient and enjoy what you can one can not compete with the other its taste. If your taste can jump that quickly then you mind is not in the MMO world and more in the console world.

  14.

It's the state of MMO's today I guess. Kind of sad actually.

I can tell that you played SWG and are wishing all of that is in this game... I would love to see some of that myself but that is the problem with today's MMO players they don't want to work for what they do they want it given to them...cough..WOW...cough

I love dying tons of times trying to figure things out, long travel times for the exploration, now that quests is near impossible to change they already changed the quest by giving VO and story behind it and that is a really big step so far.

Instancing unfortunately is needed with today's graphics if they want a big audience to play with various computers and I'm ok with it and the housing in SWG was cool to a point but I like the ship thing way better. Either way I am loving the game and I hope they keep it up.

  15. Does anyone just enjoy PLAYING anymore?

When I go into a WZ, I am having a good time. I don't need much more than that. I am enjoying the time I am spending.

If you aren't having fun, then why do it at all? Isn't pulling someone into an obstacle in Huttball reward enough? It never gets old.

Thank you someone with an imagination that works and is used more than most of the MMO community doesn't have anymore.
