  4. ya this is really *********** lame i hate windows its such a POS O.S if you dont treat you machine like a queen your gonna have more errors than a catholic priest. i really wanna make the swich to linux because you can do almost anything without worring did i "safely remove that flash drive" did i properly shut down the pc? did i just install a program or a virus is this website full of virus's the list goes on and on with linux i have never really had any of these problems with windows it seems like i cant get a brake from these problems i just wanna play my game on linux you biosexuals

Really dude. You don't treat your computer well, and your complaining because you have problems with it because you treat it like crap? Thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard. You really need to learn what your talking about before you come on here making failed attempts to sound smart.

if you don't unplug your flash drive properly with linux, you can still destory the flash drive. its not an OS thing. its a "if the flash drive is being accessed while you disconnect it from both, the source of the accessing, and the its power supply" that will destroy the flash drive.

Also if your on a website that your nerves about getting viruses from, then your doing it wrong. I have been using windows since windows 95, and i have only had a virus problem ONCE. All i had to do was use system restore, to bring the system to a point before i got the virus, and BOOM virus is gone and everything was fixed. Seriously took 5 minutes. It is just retarded to complain about being nerves about viruses. If you have the brain power of a 5 year old, then you should be able to avoid them by using MSE (which i use and it has never slowed my computer down, and it keeps itself updated in the background, and it still never has slowed down my computer)

What is funny is I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 right now while writing this. I do love linux since i started using it back in march, because my instructor of my CIT class suggested i should learn how to use it for my education. Linux is great. I love how i can make everything pretty. But from what i have seen is that is all it can do. I only play SWTOR, and some very small, f2p games. Now I'm not a linux expert, so i can't get swtor to work. There are alot of stuff that i have researched, and it doesn't really make since to me on how to get this game to work. Also i believe that it is kinda retarded, that i need to be a linux expert, to get a game to work.

When i got this laptop, it came with Vista, and i honestly don't see everyone's problem with it. The only thing that annoyed me at first, was the UAC, but i do know how to use Windows, so i disabled UAC, and problem was solved. Vista never crashed on me, and i never had the problems that everyone complained about. My only real problem with Vista was it did use alot of resources. It may be just because i know how to take care of my computer.

I am not a supporter of windows 8. In my CIT class, we downloaded the developer beta release of Windows 8, and i can't stand it. If they give me back my taskbar, and my start menu back then i will give Windows 8 another try, but from what i have seen, the Metro menu is SO not built for desktops, and if they don't add the start menu back to windows 8, then i do agree that it will be a epic failure. But i do love Windows 7. It works very well, even on my 3 year old laptop. I have Ubuntu 12.04 dual-booted with Windows 7, and on my laptop, they both boot up very fast. And Windows 7 seems to have an easier time running videos and graphic based stuff. I only got 4GB of ram, yet in Windows 7, i can have 2 pdf's running, 5 web browsers running, and a excel spreadsheet running, and i see no lose in response times. Just today, i was on a facebook game while using Ubuntu, and it was not running no were near as smooth as it does when i run it on Windows 7, so i have to get the edge on Windows 7.

But that is my personal experience with both OS's side-by-side. If i was a linux expert, i might be able to make Linux run so godly awesome that i would feel like bowing down to the OS log-in screen everytime it came up, but I'm not. So my opinion is, at least i believe, the point of view of the average Windows user, that trys out Ubuntu. Yes its pretty, and with compiz fusion, i can make it do some really neat stuff, but it just doesn't seem to be able to preform as well as Windows 7 to me.

  5. This game has screwed over Jedi Vigilance Knights when it comes to questing. I am so tired of being forced to use Doc. I want to use my other companions, but if i do, then i can't kill all the Elites i have to face while questing. Its horrible. I am completely bored with the game right now because this really isn't an RPG. i don't get to choose my role, i have to be a tank, and have to have a healer.
  6. I vote no, not when 90% of servers are blatantly imbalanced towards Empire. So they can just rely on numbers to zerg and not depend on individual skill or teamwork.

yeah and no one seems to understand that. all this thread is about is wanting to be griefers and camping lowbies.

  7. I was in a PvP queue for 30 minutes yesterday before leaving and rejoining the queue. After another 15, I still hadn't been placed into a match. Anyone have the same issue? Is this just a case of servers not being full? It seemed like there were plenty of folk running around Coruscant doing quests, but I couldn't play any PvP.

maybe the players on your server just suck and no one is pvping

  8. To start off with, Open World PVP is the best there is. Open World PVP should be the main focus for future PVP content, in my opinion, and not instanced PVP. While instanced PVP can be fun, it quickly becomes stale after the upteenth time playing in the same area, doing the same thing. In Open World PVP, truly OPEN, the battles are always different, and can become massive in scale.

Open World PVP is never balanced, but that aspect is what makes it remain exciting. Overcoming an enemy that has superior numbers is very satisfying. Crushing an enemy that has weaker numbers is almost as satisfying. There are no scripted locations that it can take place. Something as simple as a gank can provoke an hour long confrontation between multiple guilds.

Devs, please expand upon OPEN World PVP on PVP servers. Remove the invisible exhaustion walls protecting factional medical centers. Lower the NPC guard numbers and difficulty protecting factional areas. Let there be no safe havens beyond Coruscant and Dromund Kaas. To prevent game-killing camping of medical centers, allow a medical center recall to a safe planet, such as the starter worlds.

PVP servers should stand out from PVE servers by more than merely being constantly flagged. Why worry with being flagged if no one can attack you? There is no penalty for dying in this game, so please open up the PVP on PVP servers.

To all who may post, leave your ganking/camping/griefing complaints to yourself. On a PVP server, those things should be allowed and encouraged, else there be no difference between PVE and PVP servers.

Let me summarize this for everyone

"i want to have an easy time camping lvl 10 planets so i can gank and camp the graveyard by myself cause i suck at actual pvp with people at my level."

I am all for world pvp. but you just want to be able to literally camp people and force them to quit playing that toon. The world pvp they have is the best i have seen. you can gank people, but you can't camp and thats all that needed to be done. Ganking was never a problem, it is the fact that you want to camp noobs is what makes your a griefer.

  9. Are people on this forum really too ignorant to understand what a 1 day or 2 day lead on a pvp server means for those with a head start? It's not like months into the game when you have dozens of high level friends who can help you out and protect you as you level - you and your friends are in the same boat - 1 shot fodder for the nerd with the assassin toon waiting in the shadows outside the starter city.

It would be one thing to open new virtual servers and apply an entire wave of players to the same server at the same time and no more waves on that server unless people manually add themselves. But it's something entirely different to be auto-guild-deployed to a server filled with 2 day old characters 25-30 levels above you just waiting to 1 shot your butt. Good luck leveling.

To say nothing of people securing all the good names cause they have days to think about the 8 names they'll reserve on level 1 characters.

How could an MMO game maker not understand the implications of this staggered approach?

    *************Edit added after much misunderstanding*******************

On a mature server, even weeks after release this doesn't happen - why?

    1) Players are too spread out to have bottlenecks of hundreds or thousands of players in one location.

    2) There will be hundreds of well geared same-faction players looking for a fight, and happy to hear your pleas.

    3) Gankers have moved on to new opportunities and are spread out and less coordinated in their efforts. IE the cool new hangout isn't nubland starport bottleneck anymore.

I love PvP. But this method of rollout is madness, pure and simple. At a fundamental level - players must at least start their game play experience at the same spot, skill and time will naturally separate them. This arbitrary game-publisher-induced unfair advantage is a terrible idea.

    boohoo crybaby.

This staggered launch has been put into place so that on launch day, the servers don't get flooded and no one can play because the login server has crashed.

You enrolled on a pvp server. be prepared to have my lightsaber cut you down. if you don't like it, go on a pve server carebear.
