  1. Actually, Karagga's Palace is the first operation of the Dread Masters and is the prelude to the Rise of the Hutt Cartel. The operation you described is Explosive Conflict, which is the second operation. TFB is the third operation.

I have a guide to the story after level 50 and Chapter 3 here:

    http://republicshammer.swtorhost.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9730338

It includes the Dread Master storyline:

If you are Republic, start with Karagga's Palace, which requires 8 people to do.

That explains it all. Thank you. Happy new year too! :)

  2. if your an Imperial Player you meet the Dread Masters At Belsavis. Republic players don't get this storyline

Next there's a Daily Area on Belsavis called Section X

TFB is the first operation of the Dread Masters. But you don't see them. they have revived that Warlord to do there bidding.

S&V is also a operation in which you kill a Dread Master

And afterwards you get to Oricon for the Big Finale with two operations to Kill the rest of them

Ok so since Im republic I start at Section X?

  3. Hi, there. While I was levelling I skipped a bunch of quests and those apparently include the whole dread master storyline. I know they are in some operations but what is the first quest where you meet the dread masters. I want to do the whole storyline. Thanks for the help!
  4. So is the guy you quoted, that's why he immediately jumped on the OP's bandwagon pretending that he somehow doesn't realize that this is nothing but BS.

Yeah I guess so. Although if he is, he's the typical troll that has been saying the same things since the beginning of the internet.

  5. Wow... Just... wow...

So glad I clicked this thread. I figured it would be the run of the mill troll thread with no proof, but you even gave us a screenshot. My apologies for doubting you, and assuming EAWare wasnt actually that stupid. I was wrong on both accounts, and that is just *********** hilarious.

Ahem. Look at my post dude. ^

    He's still a troll. Just a creative troll. :D

  6. So because they created a game that did so poorly that it could not be sustained with a dwindling subscriber base, we, the remainding subscriber's, are expected to pay more for content that they originally intended to be paid for by from the subscriber's that left the game. Wasn't f2p supposed to be the fix for the lost subscribers?

Now I am supposed to understand their need, and they should not understand mine. Well I guess I must be thick headed, because I do not understand.

First of all they made the Makeb announcement after the layoff's that you reffered to. Then they slowly dribbled out new content while at the same time diverting their remaining resources to writing f2p code, and now that f2p is live, and they can redirect their people to providing the content that they promissed, they drop the bomb on us that they will now be charging for it. I ask then, what is my subcription paying for?

If i started playing today, I could download the base program for free, and could play all content through level 50 without paying a dime if i chose to. However, I started to play in January of 2012, and I paid for the program that they are now giving away for free. I have also paid for several months of subsciber fees based in part on the idea that I would get the content that they prommised without having to pay extra for it. I for one do not think that it is asking to much for EA to honor their original intent, and give this content to me and to others like me.

Yes they did originally intend for it to be free. But then many things changed as a I said before there were layoffs they converted to f2p etc. So it no longer seems feasible for them to give it away for free. And it's not really a bomb. They have been saying for several months that they are considering charging for it.

Also when are people gonna realize that they have teams of people doing several different things. It's not like everyone was writing f2p code. Probably no more than 5 people were doing that, the rest were developing new content. Now whether or not this content was released when it had to or not is up to marketing who decided to wait after f2p.

Back to makeb, it seriously isn't that much I don't really understand why people complain about it. And as far as your paying for subscription before f2p argument, that was all payed off by the Cartel Coins reward program.

Again I'm gonna try another analogy. Let's imagine that we have a deal in which you state that you will never harm me in any way ever whatever i do. But then I kidnap your whole family and I kill them. Are you gonna keep your promise and not kill me or are you gonna rip my heart out? Maybe the more brutal version will get through.

My point is when the circumstances change so does everything else.

  7. Here is a quote from the SWTOR website that annouced the 1.3 update:

"With this update, we’ve hit the halfway mark of this year. In that time we’ve released the Legacy system, Group Finder, Guild Banks, Interface Customization and many other game systems, alongside new playable content including Operations, Flashpoints and Warzones. But we have a lot more coming in the second half of 2012. You'll see familiar faces such as HK-51, fly in new space missions, and encounter new Operations, Warzones and a brand new world called Makeb that will allow players to gain new levels. And that’s only the things we’ve talked about so far."

Why would they include Makeb in yhe above statement if they planned on chaging for it? So now we get to wait until spring of 2013 to get content that was promised for the second half of 2012, and we get to pay for it's late delivery. How can anybody possibly be upset about that? Better yet, why are so many people defending EA/Bioware on this one?

They did not intend on changing it. They did not intend on layoffs, delays, f2p and a whole lot of other stuff. People have to understand that the circumstances changed. They lost people, they changed their whole business model and with that content was delayed. Before all that happened it seemed feasible to give makeb for free but it isn't anymore for whatever reason.

Imagine this: You're going to buy this very shiny new computer which you have saved a lot of money for. Then you lose your job and with that all your income. You will no longer buy that computer until you find a new job and save some more money. I hope the analogy got through there. :D

  8. Was defeated by the Aurora Warden and returned to Bridge Medcentre but am now unable to re-enter Brig and continue mission.

How can I get back in?

Right click on your portrait and reset your instances. If that doesnt work you'll have to reset the quest which will involve doing it all over again which is kind of a pain if it is a long one but that should fix it. To reset open your log (L by default) find the quest and press the "reset" button. And in the case that it doesn't you'll have to file a cs ticket reporting the issue. Hope this helps and may the Force be with you. :D

  9. From that if I was to speculate I would say that they will also bring the cathar to the cartel market, they will have a new flashpoint. The heroics go with the planet. More gear but not necessarily better gear than from ops. If they are done with it hopefully they will release the secret space project. In the mean time we will get a new event and more items on the cartel market. I don't know what else but if i think of something i'll post it.
  10. It's a whole new planet with new story. Said story isn't necessary personal class story but it's made to fit with the overall world story. Also the story will involve the nefarious Hutt Cartell so if giant slugs disgust you close your eyes. There will also be a level cap increase up to lvl 55 and if you pre-order before January 7th you will get to play 5 days earlier with the price for the expansion being 19.99$ for regular players vs a 50% discount for subscribers bringing it down to 9.99$

And that's pretty much all we know so far but there will be more stuff which they'll announce in the future. :D

  11. there's a fear that with the new expansion even the green gear from it will obselete the top tier raid gear. WoW is apparently notorious for this (never played WoW so I don't know first hand)

however BW has said that they're going to be trying to strike a balance so that our old gear isn't completely worthless.

I see. I did play wow for a bit but never got far, so I don't know how it worked there either. But "best gear" should come from endgame, right? And endgame is operations so, to me at least, it wouldn't make sense that makeb will have better gear because it isn't endgame. So yeah I guess for the sake of the people who have spent a lot of time on gear I hope that they won't do it the "wow way", but we'll see how it goes. Although there is much more to come till the expansion (6 week cycle and what not) so I wouldn't quit just because the gear might be useless. May the Force be with you.

  12. I thought all SWTOR expansions were going to be free, i could have swore that was said back in closed beta and launch. It has been some time since closed beta and launch, but come can some one update me on this?

I don't know about closed beta but it was indeed stated a few months ago that expansions will be free. However there were many changes to the studio. Layoffs, people quit, f2p etc. So nothinh that was said back then is valid anymore because of all the changes. But they are putting out more content and honestly it doesn't cost that much. For subs it's less than a ticket for a movie. Yeah I think that's about it :)

  13. Why would the "greens" replace your "purples"? Best gear still comes from Ops/WZs. Makeb gear shouldn't affect your gear progression. The gear there will probably be an upgrade to say columi gear for the people who have just turned 50 and/or haven't done many ops, if you know what I mean. Best gear should still be Dread Master. At least that's what I think.
  14. I like fireworks, They are a cool little vanity item. So I was really excited when I read this news article: http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20121203

Relly cool present for the anniversary and what not. So today I log in to the game and guess what I have mail. And indeed it was the fireworks. 25 really cool fireworks. Wait what? 25 fireworks? But what is this? The article says 25 stacks of fireworks.

So here am I asking you: Where are the rest of my fireworks? According to the math I should get 2475 fireworks. 1 stack is 99 items so if my math is correct (which it is): 25*99=2475

So again. Why didn't I get 25 stacks but only 25 fireworks?

Plus according to the description the fireworks should be your faction's symbol, but they aren't. They are just some random colors.

Yeah I think that's about it. Happy Life Day all. (another thing that I am angry about but that's a different topic :))

  15. So if the updates are coming out every 6 weeks... that would mean the next update is due... at the start of January? really? We didn't even get the warzone we were promised >.> (Which has allegedly been finished for months)

I reckon 1.6 will be on the PTS before new year, but it will be on live in January. However, I have a feeling that there will be a certain world event for Christmas. Yes Life Day I'm looking at you! :D
