So don't wait the 10 minutes. Go back to the medcenter. Get a few levels or a better group, because if you got up to 10 minutes on your timer, you're doing something very wrong.
-
Absolutely in support of this idea.
As is, I don't dare pvp or do space missions on a levelling character, because doing all the quests already trivializes content. And I *like* both the pvp and the space missions.
We're not asking for an experience slash across the board. We're not asking for anything that affects those of you who are happy with how it is. We want an option to turn it off.

Companion tanks can't really tank in this game anyways since they nerfed them into the ground. Sure fire way to play without a companion? Run with one level 30ish and beyond!
No extra armor mitigation = tank companions are worthless. Any heavy armor DPS companion or healer is superior as they will split agro with you and not get insta-gibbed by 4 mobs.
I'm at 35 so far, and this isn't my experience. Is he as good as a player tank? No. But no healer companion can heal like a player, and no dps companion dps's like a player.
And as for the reply suggesting Corso's harpoon really messes up Gunslingers, I believe it. Which is why I said I'd like to see it save his settings. I just don't want his harpoon removed because one AC doesn't like it. Fix things. No removing them.
-
Absolutely not to removing his harpoon.
Yes, fix him so he remembers the instructions you gave him.
But that harpoon is what makes him excel as a ranged tank. You can CC something, then tell him to attack something else and he'll yank it out of the way and not break your CC. If you leave it off, you have to turn off over half his DPS abilities, and he fails to tank.
Don't touch my harpoon.

after all I need 200k for the 40k mount!
Yeah, inflation is TOTALLY out of control these days isn't it?
-
Play 12-16 hours a day.

It's even worse if you actually do the math right.
Sprint is 135% movement speed (35% boost)
Speeder is 190% movement speed. This is 40% faster than sprint speed (190/135). Hey look, a 40% speed boost for the first mount. I've seen this before. Anyway, this is fine.
Speeder 2 is 200% movement speed. This is a 5.25% speed boost over speeder 1.
Speeder 3 is 210% movement speed. This is 5% over speeder 2.
Now, while money certainly comes faster and faster as you level, there's a lot of reasons to say ... nah, I can stick with my first speeder until I'm 50, and thoroughly bored...

But why!? Is it because you can't be bothered to read the dialogue or because the accent is annoying? I really can't understand this :/
For me, it's because all the alien dialogue is horribly repetitive - they may say half a paragraph in text, but the voice actor mumbled one of 6 or 7 lines that is all they have for each language.

You could log in on an administrator permissioned account.

I'm just wondering because I might buy one.
The authenticator is worth it to protect your account. The in-game story is gravy.

I almost don't want them making the interface any better than it is now. Sure, it's clunky, and kinda awful. But right now, the few braving the interface are getting rich off it, while the masses screaming about it refuse to get involved.
Taking the dumb out of the competition pool sure does give you lots of room to swim.
-
There really should be some kind of recognition. For the first person to 50 without skipping any quests, or ever spacebarring any dialogue.
Man, how the rushers would howl...
-
I spacebar alien speech. They only have about 5 lines of wumpa wumpa, I've heard them all. Anything properly voiced, I will continue to listen to. Even my 4th alt, listens to them all.
-
Not even a little bit. 50 hours since Thursday morning. Love it all.
-
Agreed with this, I'll be leveling at least one of each class just to experience their storylines. Having the option of doing different quests along with it each time is nice for me.
I do acknowledge this is an option - and I'll probably use it, I'm expecting to skip every single mission on Nar Shaddaa except my story quest. It's just not as fun for me.
I'm hoping this comes in at some point so later characters I roll can do everything. I'm a completionist, I *hate* having undone stuff.

Please do not put an EQ2 style leveling system lol. I can stand grinding for 8 hours a day just to level up once.
Please read what I posted. I'm not asking for an EQ2 levelling system. I'm asking for the option they had to disable combat experience. You wouldn't ever have to know it was there.
-
It doesn't stop me from doing them, but it does trivialize them. When you're running level 18 content and you're 22, it's even easier than it normally would be. What's it going to be like when I'm running 24 content at 30? 30 content at 38?
-
I dare you to complete herioc quest higher than 20 with just your companion, you need to group with other players to do those, so your whole arguement is moot. plus if you dont want your companion out send it on missions whole point of the companion system.
This. Even the Heroic 2s are going to be very difficult with just you and a companion. Easier if you're a healer with a tank companion, but still. The Heroic 4s? Forget about it.

Seriously Bioware. I love your game. I love all the stories. But there's so much experience being thrown around, that I have the choice of skipping half of it, or outlevelling and trivializing ALL of it. It's NOT a good choice.
Please implement an EQ2 style "Disable Combat Experience" toggle. I really want to stay and do all the missions, on all the planets, AND be able to enjoy the space combat and PVP, but without even touching the Taris bonus series on my Republic character, I've outlevelled Nar Shaddaa. Like the whole planet.
For those who scream they like the experience rate, please read - I'm asking for a toggle. It won't affect you. It will only help those like me who want to slow down their experience.
Anyone else feel the same?

Dec. 2 for me.
This totally reminds me of the time when I was 6 and my brother refused to take me with him to see Star Wars when it first came out. I cried like crazy when he told me I couldnt come. After a whole afternoon of crying he finally said, "Do you really want to go?" With a sniffle and a wipe I nodded a hopeful "yes". He smiled, leaned close to me and said, "NO!" as he laughed and walked out the front door.
Your brother is a hero and a role model to older brothers every where. I drink in his honor!

tiny wave
Not really. You have to remember 11/11 was the first BIG BIG beta weekend. I'm willing to bet preorders really spiked around the 14th/15th.
-
Ok. I read it. I can even concede you might be right. So what? Why is this on a gaming forum? You don't talk about games at all, never mind SWTOR. This should be on some fancy developer blog where people might care.

Mmm, so you need to stay within 60-100 energy range.. Does this present problems with AOE burst damage fights?
You do have 1 ability every 2 mins that'll lift you out of the yuck zone, but if the fight is going to have repeated AoE ... tell your group to learn to dodge
Although as long as you're not being forced to cast it a lot, you do have decent AoE healing with Kolto Cloud. Once you hit 40 anyway. But I don't imagine a lot of heavy AoE before that (some, yes. Heavy, no)

I think it's a priority once they add more options to character creation. If there are a bunch of new body types/hairstyles/tattoo colors that weren't there when you started, it would be very nice.
Until then? Not a priority.
Quick shot, does anyone use it? 36+
