  1. Additional reasons why PvP is garbage:

    1. The camera (zooming and snapping)

    2. Jumping slows you down (this offends me as a competitive FPS-playing bunny hopper)

    3. Raid frames (not updating or displaying discernible, relevant information besides health)

    4. Targetting (worst I've ever seen, ever, ever, ever)

    5. Auto/non-existent facing

Adding most to the list, props.

  2. Sorc/Sage healing is terrible in this game against any competent player, unless you have a babysitter (tank guarding or substantial cross heals). Anybody who thinks otherwise is too much of a novice to understand the mechanics and flow of high-level PvP.

    Exactly.

  3. Awww, you haven't met the 4 man Sorc team from my server. All healers, and damn near impossible to win unless you stealth cap. Bubbles for every occasion, heals by the pound, heals by the bushel. The last game 3 of them Q'd this time with a tank. It took 2 scoundrels and a guardian to take one down. He got guarded and AoE taunted immediately. And that took a while as well.

Pretty much was a "Welcome to the future of Rated Warzones, Assasins and Sorcs healers."

    I think I just facepalm'd so hard I gave myself a concussion.

Are the dps communicating? Are the dps setting the healers as a focus target for interrupts? Are the dps coordinating cc's? The answer is no.

  4. 1) correct

    2) correct

    3) good players win anyways

    4) healers are fine, if you have a team you get a tank to guard you and peel for you

    5) skipping this one

    6) correct dot interupts need to be removed

    7) correct

    8) huttball is fine

    9) correct

    10) most players do suck

    11) correct

Personally im probably gonna quit for one reason, 50 bracket....cant solo queue and carry a WZ anymore, makes it boring.....now you gotta wait for your premade to get online and cant play solo until then unless you wanna get trained by imp premades with tons of healers while you get stuck with republic fails....at least before this if you got the fails on the team you could carry it to a win, now its just impossible to 1v4 nodes ( BORING )

Lets discuss the 3rd and 4th topics. I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but I rolled here with 3 other top-end WoW pvpers. We've put the legwork into understanding every class in SWToR so we know how to play each and every class. When I say damage is unhealable, I'm talking about the guys on my team. I just finished queuing with them and I watched 2 of them run around and drop people in several seconds. Trinket + CD's = dead player. Period. So when you say good players win warzones, I realize this. Good players SHOULD win warzones. Good players should also win fights. But not in seconds. Damage is too high. I've been healing for 6 years now, and I realize SWToR is a "new" game with much to be learned, but like I said we've put a ton of legwork into understand the PvP in this game. We've dueled each other endlessly and have often set-up multiple fights where it's us 3 or 4 vs numerous other people, often upwards of 7-8. Damage is simply outrageous, and if anything, healers are lacking an oh sh-- button.

Also, you can't agree that they lied about their PvP design with the release of huttball then say huttball is fine o.O

  5. Played 3 games then logged off cause I got bored.

Has anyone noticed if the 30% healing debuff in PvP is still there? I can understand why it was needed at the beginning of the game when pre-expertise damage was sub-par, but now with the gear we have a 30% healing debuff is a joke.

  6. 1. Input lag.

    2. Graphical errors/bugs.

    3. Damage output by fully geared players is outrageous. I mean the good players. The ones that run up to you and sh-- in your cereal 1v1. Just because you keybind doesn't mean you're good. (Refer to post 8 on this page if you think you should stop reading here.)

    4. Healers are gimped in every way imaginable. "Healers heal so much omg they put up huge numbers on boards!" Yea no. I've been there. 600k voidstars and civil wars. Healing while no one is watching you because they're too dumb to target you is not how healing is meant to be. Put even an ounce of pressure on a healer and lolOlol good game healer. "but healerz have so many peels for themselves wut do yoo mean??" If you have problems sticking on a healer while he's pealing solely for himself, you're doing it wrong. And with my previous point, damage is un-healable. People complained in WoW how healers we're over-powered because they could keep a player up with no pressure on the healer. Know why the high-end pvpers never complained about healers? Because if the healer got caught in a cc chain, game over. In SWToR, there's no need for cc. 2 people can easily put up un-healable damage on a target. Not to mention if those two people target the healer you'll see him drop in a matter of seconds. The only reason healers appear to "win warzones" at the moment is simply because the pugs you're playing with don't know to target the healer. As soon as ranked warzones are added and there's vent communication, watch healers drop like flies because peels and heals are lacking.

    5. Because I'm whining about it.

    6. Dot and run node defending.

    7. Bioware lies. "We don't want to put a player in the situation where they have four players piling on them to the point where they feel helpless." Someone forgot about huttball. Bringing me to my next point.

    8. Huttball - good concept. Crappy game.

    9. Resolve.

    10. Highly-skilled, competitive PvPers are few and far between, and there's going to be less and less at this rate simply because you've effectively made it damn near impossible for this game to be enjoyable at competitive levels. So boring.

    11. The camera (zooming and snapping)

    12. Raid frames (not updating or displaying discernible, relevant information besides health)

    13. Targetting (worst I've ever seen, ever, ever, ever)

    14. Auto/non-existent facing

    15-101. Ilum

  7. Actually, it would in English law. I dunno about you in America, you share some of our common law but not all of it.

Something that is of an unsatisfactory quality entitles you to a full refund. Whether it be shoes or computer software. This is contained within the Sale of Goods Act 1979, s14.

Given the amount of complaining about PvP and given that in English law it is what a "reasonable" person thinks is of unsatisfactory quality, there is a persuasive argument that the game is NOT of a satisfactory quality.

We would be entitled to return the game for a full refund under English law. Even after installing it, which the game stores will tell you is not possible, but that is a policy, I am talking about the Law and law trumps policy.

Good try ol' chum. But quite wrong. The responsibility of quality lies not with the mediator who sells the game (game stores) but with the creator and distributor. There's a reason there is mounds and mounds of paperwork with that stuff. What you're suggesting is game stores are responsible for distributing the quality of a game that every single individual will undoubtedly enjoy.

Good luck getting English law to hold up under an international jurisdiction.

  8. Most competitive PvPers are well aware the current resolve system sucks. There are a few who are still trying to defend it but I think everyone would agree it at the very least needs tweaking.

But what did you honestly think you were going to accomplish making a thread whining your *** off about the resolve bar when there's already multiple threads, much more constructive than this one, on the matter?

  9. Because we paid £40 for the game on the premise of PvP and what we were given is a big pile of steaming you know what.

If the game is going to be 50% pointless, I would like a £20 refund.

Au contraire! I paid 50 USD for the game!

But uh, there is PvP. Just because you don't like it doesn't entitle you to anything.

  10. B) Some of you might argue: "Well, you can get the gear too." To this, I say: You're absolutely right, I can. But by the time I get to 50 (because I don't play 12+ hours a day), the Warzones will /finally/ be bracketed off and I'll be faced up against geared opponents in standard gear myself.

And yea, you did bring yourself into it.

    Read your own post.

  11. The videos good. Overall good pvp.

But people need to calm down a little. It's not epic by any means though it is definitely one of the better vids out atm.

The problem doesn't lie with you more with the people you're playing with and against. Just completely sub-par.

  12. We're the most kitable class ever. Even Warriors can keep on an enemy better than we can with Force Leap. If a person gets past 10 Meters the only thing I can do is pop a CD and channel some lightning unless Speed is up.

Granted, I love playing my Sin in close-quarters skirmishes.

Someone doesn't know how to play his own class.

  13. As a sorceror, I think the biggest joke is the second hot heal (Innervate) takes 3 seconds to cast and has a 9 second cool down. REALLY?! Just make it an instant with a lower cool down to make it even worth getting.

    hahahahahahahaha

phew let me catch my breath

    hahahahahhahahaa

  14. I think it would work out just fine if everyone had colored helmets or capes that showed who was on your team.

Did you even read his post? I don't think you did or you would have realized that he wasn't talking about not being able to recognize the people on your team.

He said there was FIGHTING and INTENTIONALLY THROWN GAMES.

On many PvP servers there are already serious guild rivalries amongst the empire and republic. Imagine if 2 republic players got on a team filled with their rivals? Not only does it leave the door open for ridiculous flame wars, but it would be too easy to purposefully throw games. Good luck trying to find a way to prove thrown games over bad play.
