  1. Yeah, you can carry the ball for about 15 seconds without support. However, In order to get the ball where you need it to be (the other teams goal) you are going to need need more than 15 seconds or some serious team support. And with team support nearly any class can carry the ball for as long as it takes to get to the goal.

But don't try to cammo with the ball, that will make you drop it.

on my mara I killed the carrier in our pit, popped predation which lasted me til about the middle of the zone, waited on a a fire trap for a second, frenzy -> predation -> undying rage ran over the 2nd pit before it got off, leaped to the group that was spawning and AoE CC scored the winning goal in about 18 seconds (I know this because we only had 25ish left when we were killing the carrier)

I know all this was set up by both entire teams being in one area (our pit) but name me another class that can coast to coast the ball in less than 20s without support?

  2. I was once told to "Just shutup!" when I said we should call incomings in aldaraan.

Me: Wow guys call inc if you need help (after runnig to the side to check and seeing them 3v8)

Player 1: Kinda hard to type when you're fighting

Me: better to type "Help" and die than to lose the base

Player: It was 3v8 dude I didn't have time

Me: I guess I just don't see the advantage to not asking for help in a team based wz

Player 2: Dude why don't you just shut up

    Me: k

    lulwut?

OP, don't worry about what ppl want you to do or not do, as long as you are doing your job and helping the team win

  3. 1. They had the same champion gear before.

    2. They were not shielded.

    3. See 1.

    4. 1v1 no guard on and no option to obtain it during the fight.

    5. Gear at full i pay very good attention to its quality.

    6. See above.

Are you a wizard? I would like to know how you know how much champ gear someone has. There's plenty of pieces you can't see by looking at someone, let alone know how nuch they had pre-patch compared to post-patch

  4. Forums aren't going away because they provide things twitter and facebook never can.

However information should be posted to the forums just as quickly and as often as to anything else.

Lazy CS is not the future (or at least not a good future).

They were 26 minutes apart, and the forum post was a fully fledged typed out release. It took 15 seconds to type into twitter, that doesn't have any perceivable effect on how long it takes him to type the release for the forums. I agree with using the forums for longer posts, but the idea that using twitter/fb has any effect on the forums posts is ludicrous

  5. The point is not how easy it is to get the info out there or that you don't have to have a twitter/facebook account to read it, the point is a lot of us don't like twitter/facebook and should not have to go outside of this website to get the info that we are looking for.

So all you tweet happy fanboys can keep tweets. As long as the forum guys/gals get the same info at the same time as you do.

By your logic I could say " I don't like people that post on the forums to complain instead of emailing Bioware about it" Either way, not much is gonna change for either of us

  6. YEA!! Stop usin them thar fancypants ways of sendin' the communication.

That birdy thing and the facebooks be just as bad as them thar damn cellular telephones they keep tryin' ta sell me.

My telegraph is still workin just as good as the day I installed it back in nineteen-ot-nine!

*grabs cane and shakes it in the general direction of Texas*

    :p

    Texas is Thataway sir ----------->

  7. But its SOOOOO much easier to answer the same indivudal question over and over again one at a time then to actually answer that question for everyone in one single post here.

Yeah cuz this forum hasn't had to answer the same question over and over again even when the answer is at the top inthe stickies, or in the FAQ:confused:

  8. If somebody is doing bad on damage meter, there is not always demanded an instant change. Then you have theorycraft, and can look through the persons rotation and spec to see what that person can do better. Thats from a raid perspective. Of course in 4 man groupe its different. People cant just kick you out if you do bad dps. They can inform you and you can care to do something about it or not.

And everything that you mentioned can be done without an in combat DM, which has been discussed in this thread. At this point I feel I'm jsut repeating myself from 10 posts ago and its getting to me, which means its time to go get a cup of coffee. Again, I'm not against DM, I just don't think its as mandatory as some do.

  9. And that last bit is sort of the point: Having damage meters is of great benefit in figuring out how to get more dps.

How is it going to help during the fight? Are you going to hit your keys harder to get more dps? See my above posts for the things I support. Some people have had some decent ideas

  10. If you've ever played an MMO during and after the first month of launch you'll know that the populations die out very quickly, most especially on the low population servers. The stragglers leave for the bigger servers that should at that point no longer have 2 hour queues during prime time, and everyone that's not staying for the long run has probably already left or is planning to.

Now, for the few of us who are sensible enough to start on one of the non-full servers, the risk is fairly large that a month down the line when everybody settles down the servers of our choosing are going to be empty, leaving just the juggernaught servers (I'm looking at you Tomb of Freedon Nadd and Legions of Lettow) with a healthy population for the entirety of the game's lifespan.

What's going to be done to prevent this from happening?

Are there any plans to merge the smaller servers shortly down the line? Transferring everyone on the low-pop servers to the higher-pop servers? Hell, might save EA/Bioware a bit of money getting to switch off some of their servers. We all know offering people free transfers away the bigger servers never works, as nobody wants to switch to an empty server... so perhaps the opposite might be more effective.

I've made the mistake twice at MMO launches of starting on low-pop servers, only to have to remake my character on a bigger server later on as it's so unbearably quiet, so it would be fantastic if we, I, could have a little clarification.

Yes, they are staggering the EGA to fill out every server better.

  11. Is saying Up to 5 days advanced access missleading?

On one hand it is correct english to imply that any amount from 0 to 5 is within the bounds of up to 5 days.

On the other hand if the chance of it being 5 days is 0% then the statement becomes false. As there was no chance at all of ever hitting the max value.

Many people who pre-ordered late feel that the implied promise of a chance for a full 5 days was a lie and thus are upset.

The one part i don't understand is where this talk about only getting 1 day access is comming from. If i have read yellow posts correctly then the latest anyone would be getting in right now is friday. If thats the case is that not 4 days early?

Ill let anyone that doesn't get in today have full reign of teh UP TO complaints. Until then.....

  12.

Simply have a combatlogging feature that updates only after exiting combat? No in-combat DPS meter "problems", but still a feature to analyze how a fight went.

Thats a nice idea as well, faster feedback than a complete out of game thing, but no shiny bars for someone to stare at during the fight, I think I really like that idea

  13. Missed the relevant part.

It's not whether you have enough dps or not, that's self evident by the boss dying or not. It's about how to fix not having enough dps. It's about having a tool to analyze who's not pulling their weight.

And that can all be done with a parser that is evaluated after everyone has had time to cool off and analyze performance with a level head. I know in the guilds I have been in it gets pertty heated if we can't kill a boss in a timely manner, and people can get very peeved. Again, DM are fine if used correctly, I jsut disagree with some of the arguments for them.
