  1. For me, God Emperor is and will always be Leto Atriedes II in sandworm form. Any other "god emperors" are just charlatans who are trying to usurp his title.

    But anyways, all Vadar has to do is use the force to throw some water at him and he is dead a la the wicked witch.

    This.

    There was (will be?) only one God Emperor, that's Leto II Atreides.

    Everything else feels like a cheap copy, although I highly respect Warhammer Universe.

  2. You can easily check the population for your side by using the WHO feature, checking each level range and adding up the results you get.

    E.g. about 4 weeks ago there were 1500 Republic-Players on The Jedi Tower during EU prime-time.

    Actually, due to the "max 100"limit, most of the times, you would have a lot of problems to add them all up, since you would have to break your who queries into alphabetic brackets, otherwise they will max out at 100. I seriously doubt someone actually did this.

  3. My server (Kai-kan) has gone from being full and under heavy load under the christmas holiday, to having around 1-2k players online (a few hundred more under peak hours) according to SWTORarena

    .

    Stop right there - this "1-2" you're seeing there is NOT "thousands of players"!

    Rather, it's the numbering of "light/standard/heavy/veryheavy full" (1-5), which only means that your server is somewhere between light and full, with slightly above standard in prime time.

    Population data from the SWTOR servers is available only to BW, all these "server population" sties are "measuring" is the spread over the five "categories":

    1 == Light

    2 == Standard

    3 == Heavy

    4 == Very Heavy

    5 == Full

    Note that "Standard" might mean 25, 123, 1,000, 4,000 or 450,000 concurrent players for all we know. It may change over the time (and rprobably arlready has), so the these charts mean even less.

    Also, the progression does not have to be linear (and, again, probably isn't). So, "Standard" might mean 4000 players, "Heavy" 6000 players, "Very Heavy" 7000 players and Full "8000" players. This makes charts even more wrong /guesswork then they already are.

    So, neither we, nor "server population" sites know what the real population is, not even the ballpark of it.

  4. Man if you think pvp in wow is good... I have nothing to say to you until you actually try a real pvp mmo like Dark Age of Camelot.

    .

    ^This.

    The people rambling about "PvP" in WoW (yes, with quotes) have no idea what Realm vs Realm PvP looks like. No idea at all. Nope.

    DAoC did many things wrong or at least not very good, but man, they did have one stellar achievement, the very best solo, group and mass PvP in a MMORPG, hands down.

    The other MMORPGS are not even close to DAoC RvR.

  5. With all the lag issues, freezing, memory leaks, resolution issues, glitches does the game still feel ready to launch? Don't get me wrong the beta was aesome and had minimal lag issues and crashing compared to what i am seeing now and the requirements to play seems to at least double. the constant 5+ pages of people reporting unplayable or crashes is rediculous. hopefully some SERIOUS fixes come soon and by that i mean by the 20th.

    I have no glitches, crashes, freezing or any serious lag, or anything else you mention. And I am playing on a Core 2 CPU, 8800GTS card and WIn XP on one computer, and on GTX570, i7 and Win 7 64b on the other.

    So, it has to be your hardware and/or software (drivers and/or crap running in background).

    /shrug

  6. I sorely underestimated just how poor the UI would turn out. It is so uncustomizable it isn't funny. Health bars, buffs, debuffs, and the power bar are all WAY too small. You can't move or resize anything, I HATE having the chat box up the top.

    Chat box can be moved and resized, and additional chat boxes can be created.

    Not having a damage meter or even a freaking combat log is ridiculous. Why shouldn't we even know how much damage we're doing? I want to know what the best rotation is for my character and I have absolutely no way of working that out.

    Actually, I am pretty sure that you want to see what OTHER players are doing, so you can boot them from your group.

  7. Where are you guys ordering from? In EU? Certainly not in the US as that's not how it works here. If you are in the US, you got ripped off.

    They were paying in USD, so hardly Europe ;)

    No, in Europe I had to pay nothing (0.00 Euro) for the preorder. At least here in Germany.

    And, I've got my hard copy of SW:TOR delivered yesterday :D

  8. I don't really see the point why they're sending out waves by waves. Are they going to have some kind of rotations of the player groups after launch date as well?... to maintain the maximum system performance :rolleyes:

    I guess they are doing that because it gives them discrete times/groups joining in to gauge the performance posst each wave. It'd be much harder to do that with continuous trickle of invites.

  9. everyone who thinks people will still be getting in on the 19th and only playing for a few hours, is WRONG, people just have to learn to read, thats all.

    I pre ordered on dec 1st, because i slacked off and I am stupid, and i know for a fact that I will get in way sooner than the 19th.

    ^This :D
