  1. figure out what components best compliment your piloting skills. Unlike other aspects of TOR there is no one combination that you must use to be the best. What works for one person may not work for you so while recommended builds are a good starting point you should go with whatever works best for you.

and situational awareness! The aware pilot lives longest so pay attention to your minimap!

That's not true, right now there is a build in which a scout can kill any other ship in under 2 seconds using cannons only. Those scout pilots are getting 17 - 25 kills a match. It will be the build that everyone will use, it's going to be the first FOTM.

Sorry Jaiyne, I couldn't help myself. lulz

It's easy to farm gear so stop making excuses for people who don't want to farm gear. Hahahaha you said my point. It is fking easy to get gear bottom line. It doesn't take hours in one day to get one piece. You can get the gear by only playing an hour a night for one week and you will get partisan.

I understand your point, that's not the issue. Since you missed mine, I was just pointing out that the comparison is not a good example. It's a logical fallacy, thus, taking away from your point.

People also make money off of the lottery, under water basket weaving, and blinking competitions... and? (If that last sentence doesn't make any sense to you, then you have identified a logical fallacy, cograts)

  3. Don't give work and school as a reason you can't get partisan. If you got to school I am assuming you are paying for college. How about you don't go to class, but still ask your professor if you can still get credit for the project because you never had time. What about people who have kids and a job that still go to college and manage well. If you had enough time to level your toon to 55 then you have enough time to farm gear. Gear is easier to farm then getting to level 55. (atleast partisan)

You are just making an excuse on why you can't farm gear. If you maxed your coms out before 55 you will have 2750 reg coms and 4500 ranked coms. You can trade your ranked coms in for regs. NOw you have 7250 reg coms. You can buy main, offhand, chest, boots, gloves, and helmet. Finish your daily everyday and this gives you 700 reg and 700 ranked coms. Weekly also gives you 300 and 300. Let's say you won every match. Which will give you 23 wins and an average of 100 coms per win. Gives you another 2300 reg coms. If you trade in all of your ranked coms you get 4300 reg coms. Within one week you can buy all of your partisan gear. Think about it. Is that really hard to get the first set?

That is not a fair contrast or comparison... at all. Comparing school, a real life activity that can be used for the rest of someones life to a video game to has zero meaning and has no value beyond the enjoyment you receive at the moment you are playing, is somewhat of a logical fallacy. A video game is entertainment. College is an investment. Sure you can find entertainment in investing, but the practical application of the two activities are not in competition.

I believe what the person whom you responded to was addressing, was the term "Scrub" and the use of it. As in calling causal players, who do not have as much time on their hands to be in full top line gear already, scrubs.

  4.

They have lagged utterly behind this whole situation. From ignoring the PTS feedback, to repeated failed patches, to a lack of acknowledgement or response that actually engages the community. Poorly handled on every front.

So simple, yet so under appreciated by most companies; especially software gaming developers.

For some reason BW/EA believes we still live in the early 1900. Large silent monolithic and imposing businesses that will tell you what you want and you will like it. If you don't enjoy it, you're doing it wrong. (aka- being a baddie, ur terrible, l2p, and I'm awesome so sorry your not)

But Bio is not completely to blame. Every single response that they offer is completely picked apart by someone that wants to, prove them wrong, Show off their supreme observations and intelligence, say I told you so, or take out their small man complex on a faceless post in which they don't have to be responsible for what they say... or how they say it.

Now having said that. public internet forums are not for the faint of heart. BW needs to hire someone who knows how to manage a customer population and set expectations, and yes, ENGAGE the consumer.

  5. Please tell me you don't play a PT since you obviously don't even know when changes to the class occurred.

    http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes/1.4.0/terror-beyond

That's when the range nerf was introduced. End of September, in patch 1.4 not 1.2

I was talking tongue in cheek, guess you missed that huh, but your condescending attitude is greatly appreciated. Next time I will supply a complete dissertation with references just to satisfy your OCD. So what I misspoke and said the 30 meter range adjustment was at 1.2 and not 1.4. Whatever. lulz. So obviously because of my error I know nothing of the class and I am the quintessential baddie, domed to perish by my own incompetent awareness of something so meaningful and life changing as a game.

The point I was making, that you slipped over because you wanted to jump on a mistake that I made, very considerate of you by the way, was that calling PT pyros FOTM - which they have been labeled since 1.2 is really silly. Every time I see a fotm comment I have to laugh at the person who is trying to put down the class as 'easy mode'. instead of L2P how about we try a new exercise, how about Play For Fun. PFF baby pff.

  6. Cause is not FOTM anymore. And the "fingerless" are complaining about nerf of Pyros, cause they can't spam anymore Flameburst and Railshot and do "OMG AMAZING DPS". These noobs should try AP that works even better now

They're not as op as they were before, so all the fotm rerollers have moved on

I think its funny how a lot of people call the PT pyro a FOTM. That class has not seen any changes since 1.2, a year ago. That's when TD and IM went from 30 meters to 10. So shouldn't it be called FOTY? LULZ. But wait! Smash monkeys came after 1.2, so did stun bubblers, oh and the flood of Sniper/ Poo slingers last Sept.

If you're going to call pyro's FOTM, please define what you mean by that. ;)

  7. I'd love to know how your team apparently had 13 people in it!

lulz, I was wondering that also.

But to the OP, I'v parked my PT. the only thing we had was burst DPS. With the TD change, CGC nerf, and the armor piercing reduction, the PT is now more of a one key wonder then ever before.

    Glow sticks or bust baby!

  8. HAHA! Tried pvp for the first time since 2.0. I really should have read the forums before I tried that.

I'm an average player, mid pack on stats, aware of objectives. So my perspective is not from the 20+ wz matches a day grinder.

Whoever had the final say in this current rendition of garbage should have their hands cut of and put in a stasis chamber.

I sure hope the company didn't spend to much on this investment, lol.

4 healers total, 2 on each side with each around 1.5 mill in healing. One (warrior) had 1 mill in damage, but he only killed 5 people. Total deaths from both teams - 15.

I though the update was going to get rid of the super high burst but most the DPS had hits of over 7K, except the Vanguard, he only hit for 4900.

Its been over 30 mins and I still am laughing, best humor in game so far. Well besides Ashara constantly telling me she is the best duelist in her class, did you guys know that?

  9. So, I need a new computer for this game. I am still not sure what kind I will need. I am going to buy a desktop and I would like to hear any suggestions that someone might have.

That's a really open ended question

    What's your price range?

I would suggest as a very subjective opinion

I am an intel fan, so-

CPU - min 3.0 ghz 4 or more cores (or better) this would be a i5 or i7 processor (1155 socket)

8 megs of ram DDR3 1600 (16 would be better)

    GPU Geforce 560 or better

Make sure the mother board is a Z77 chip set

Without going into finer details, and if your buying an off the shelf system, those are the things I would look for and will probably be in the $600 - $800 range with out a monitor.

Of course you can go less expensive and still have a great experience.

I am going to build a new rig here soon, if your interested I will post the specifics of what I am going to have.

  10. 1. A tightened Grip

    2. Defend the Shipment

    3. Operation Shatterstorm

    4. Sabotage

    5. Rightful Owner

I have a question about this quests

( ilum Dailies ) , They are soloable? How much time takes to do it for a recently 50 ( no good gear only recently leveled ) . and how much gold gives ( promed )

    Yes you can solo them.

Give yourself 30 - 40 mins, (I can do them in 20 early in the morning with no one else around)

Its around 10K credits for each quest turn in.

You should have almost a full set of Tion gear, you get this from the terminal in the pve gear section of the fleet which you redeem for Tiones commendations which allow you to buy the gear from the vendor. With this set you should have no problem the the missions you listed.

There is also a Heroic 2 that some class can solo like Sorc/sage or Merc/Commandos. Or a well geared and well played Sin/shadow or Mara/Sent. But the reward for the H2 is not that valuable imo.

  11. I don't understand this, i'm a sith inquisitor level 38 doing the temple quest where you have to protect whats his name while he opens the temple door. I get killed by a single measly droid and it completely boots me out of the class storyline instance. that doesn't seem right to me.

I think I remember this quest, on Hoth correct? If you die it spawns you at the entrance of the instance, making you complete this section of the quest without dying. It is a difficult quest but I believe that is the way it is suppose to work.

Also I think Hoth is level 38-42, maybe your a few levels below, or your under geared? (Just thoughts)

  12. I'm still really confused. When I look at my character sheet, it has written there "Rakata weapon master's gear (5/5)" in yellow, and underneath a list of the five pieces of clothing in green. What is that supposed to mean?

If you look at the set bonus you will see a 2 piece set and 4 piece set, as to why there are 5 pieces, I would guess that it is so you can switch out one of the pieces, for example the chest or helm, for something more ascetically pleasing to you.

Unless there has been a recent change, I believe you get a Tionies(51) set not Rakata(58). (ETC)

  13. another thread and I will post about the same thing.

If they don't want to be there, I don't want them there.. I really don't know why anyone really would. I just want Bioware to do what they said with having a point of no return where backfill gets cut off and the match can just be over. Those who stay, get what they earned.

I like this idea, I would also add that those who remain on the defeated side, say 5 players for example, in a early terminated war zone should automatically get 8 medals as a reward for "sticking it out".

  14. How are you getting your guild bank raided?

Seems like giving specific privileges to certain people, whom I would suspect you trust, would eliminate the problems.

"X" amount per week from "X" tab?

    Only officers have access?

Why add another layer? Do you work for the government?

  15. I would take a look at the difference in kills under both scenarios. Each round the multiplier next to the potential energy bars tells you how much each orb/kill is worth. As I mentioned previously in the thread, AH is definitely in favor of the ability to dps over the ability to maintain control of orbs as kills rack up much faster than the respawn rate of orbs..

Thanks for answering my post. That does clear up some of the fog.

  16. BW should give us an explanation of how the points are applied.

Example one: My team capped first, uncontested and received 90 potential points. Enemy team capped with 15 seconds remaining and automatically received 235 potential points, at this point my team had accumulated 156 points by running orbs, I think we got all of them.

Example two: 4 rounds total. split nodes each round except the 3rd round in which the other team double capped us. No one really controlled mid more then the other team, yet we won 955 to 523.

There are other examples, but has anyone else been able to figure out how points are applied? I understand how they are accumulated, orbs + kills + holding a node at the end of the round. But the application to the tally seems a bit off.

Do kills from one round of being double capped carry over to the next round?

Is there a bones for taking the node after the other team has capped?

Are kills at mid worth more?

Also who wants to defend, there's no medals in it.
