  1. biowareftw,

Whatever points you may have had, valid or not, your waffling on the subject of alacrity for sorcs was hilarious, and proved that you have no clue at all about how game mechanics work.

Also, you've been reported for stupidity, as you've wasted both your time typing out huge, long responses trying to defend the multitude of your asinine ideas, and other people's time for having to wade through the troll-fest you created to read about the ramifications of this surge nerf.

  2. Oh I understand it perfectly it is a dumbed down shadow priest. I also understand that when 3-4 people are standing together I can hit them all with an aoe spell instead of waiting for a instant proc by casting it.

See...you probably have nuke with dot, aoe, lowest dmg nuke (that procs) all on one key by use of something like autohotkey. This is why you would not like haste...

Probably also never heal yourself. But yeah such a complex class and one I played when WoW first came out, except it is so dumbed down you don't have to shift in and out of shadow to heal...

SO COMPLEX. A class easier then classes when they didn't have gaming mouses and this autohotkey BS. But yeah. SUPER COMPEX CLASS BRAH. Priority systems on 1 key = hard.

The class is a joke and nowhere near as complex as any current caster class in WoW (which are all easy as well). The melee on the other hand in this game? Sentinel/marauder is harder then any melee in WoW. Still easy to play and absolutely slaughter people as bad as you in this game though...

    lolknoob

  3. It is a MMO after all and it is all about getting better gear, that is how they are designed, a time sink, hell even FPS games have a grind now.

People always like getting better gear, it is part of the draw of the game, and to get that gear you are required to do something, in PVPs case, win games. That winning may or may not take you longer than someone else doing the same thing (you get something for losing even). If it takes you longer they will have better gear than you for a while. That "while" can vary depending on how much you are able to play and such things as server inbalances etc.

I think the trick here is not to make the grind too long, that way you won't be outgeared for as long, and not make the gear too much better than the lower set, just something so people want to continue playing, paying their sub and have fun.

This is a well reasoned argument.

Should there be a gear gap? Probably yes, as for many, many people it's the "reward" for putting in so much "effort" (lol).

Should the gap be as large as it is? No.

  4. This. I love watching melee classes running through my character over and over again, as if it has some sort of benefit in this game. I never cared for doing it in other MMOs, it's just a ridiculous mechanic that gets abused.

mmmm but if I can consistently stay behind you shouldn't I be rewarded?

(not the running through bs kids from WoW do)

  5. THEY'RE NOT NERFING TOP END PVP GEAR FFS.

    THEY'RE BUFFING LOWER SETS.

And anyone who thinks running in a premade stomping pugs = PvP is just a sad, sad little man who needs video games to feel better about himself. True PvP is premade vs premade.

edit: Something else all you special needs people out there who're moaning about this: if someone feels like they have more of a chance, guess what? MORE PEOPLE WILL PARTICIPATE. More people participating = more pugs = quicker pops. You're leet premade will still stomp pugs. It's just now that a premade that may be undergeared but "better" may be able to beat you now.

    Stop qq'ing

  6. The thing is, the general player base for MMO's have changed.

Whereas before you had people who could play for 5,6 hours every day, you now have people who have jobs and healthy social lives that also happen to play MMO's. I would wager a large amount of money that there are more people who play 1-2 hours a day (or less) rather than the people that play for more than that. Thus, for a company's own self-interest, they *should* be catering to the larger population.

TL;DR, Get a life, step outside and enjoy it instead of sitting in front of a computer screen thinking you "earned" something when you pay as much as everyone else.

  7. I think people confuse spec for hybridization. Outside of a few class talent trees, it's impossible to fully spec one tree without touching another unless you just don't spend the points, so everyone is a hybrid in some small way. As far as if infiltration survives well or not, I never had an issue surviving as infiltration, but I like protecting the team so I am back on tank spec.

    Just saying.

If you have 31 pts in a tree you aren't a hybrid build. This is fairly commonly accepted when talking about "hybrid" vs not-hybrid

  8. In a larger group PvP situation you can set up the attack easily. Sure people can see the setup for a rage burst, but them reacting to it is another thing entirely. In addition, freighter relay isn't the staple attack for a sniper, Smash is and it's a lot easier to set up than people give it credit for.

I have no clue *** you're trying to say here... but you don't "tri-spec" as rage. You go 3/7/31 or 2/8/31. If you go on later into the video I fight a full BM sorc whom I crit for 6.2k (with adrenals sure) and then later on for 4.9k (without adrenals).

After having spoken to full BM properly itemized (surge/power) operatives post-nerf, their highest crits (single target) have been ~4.3k, I hit 4.8k regularly on an AoE attack.

yeah but they chain a bunch of crits together.

We hit once. It may be AoE but it doesn't come close to the single target burst dmg an op can put out

  9. You can delude yourself all you want, but lack of burst + melee range == little threat.

    ...

lack of burst? Not at all. Focus, mid trees all have really good burst

Utility? If bleed tree, lots of interrupts. Plus, they get a heal debuff, which in PvP no other class gets.

  10. I'm sure they could easily fix that and make it a workable method. Would be great to have people playing the field then treating it like a deathmatch.

Just like they can easily fix WZ wins not counting towards the weekly/daily?

  11. i agree that the operative nerf went too far (jedi guardian perspective). i dont have to adapt playstyle at all anymore when facing one of them (imo i should have to adapt playstyle FOR EACH CLASS to be successful).

it seems a general attitude, if something gets nerfed, it gets nerfed to the ground. remember the rakata medpack? no ones talking about it anymore, because no one is using it anymore (im considering to sell mine since the pvp heal consumable is simply better)

    ....

you can use both. They're on separate cd's............

  12. Won't work. Separate but Equal is a lie. You cannot make things different and equally fair. The "mirror" classes in this game aren't accurate mirrors and even those small discrepancies are the subject of much heated discussion.

Faction balance is not an issue any developer can force. All they can hope for is in game mechanics (Ilum being worthless, or Imperials playing excessive amounts of Huttball) convinces players to swap sides. The problem here is, the general consensus is that most Imperial storylines/artwork/animation effects are more interesting/better/satisfying than their Republic counterparts (as an off the top example: Lightning from your hands is much more viscerally satisfying than little pebbles from nowhere), which only serves to highlight how the tiniest inequalities can cause massive imbalances.

I'm not mad at BioWare, they can't make everyone happy no matter what they do, but this is a fact of life.

    Starcraft !

But yeah, hard to do in MMO's. Personally I like the added flavor by having similar (but slightly different) classes ala WAR.

  13. I don't mind how easy or easier it becomes to get gear however;

I always dislike the disparity between old existing players and new people, as a player you'd want the game to flourish which also means being friendly to new players, I really, really dislike the segregation of new and old players with such a huge void in gear.

But as it turns out, you're shooting yourself in the foot if you think full BM gear is better than a mix of rakata/bm (falloff from expertise) and mixing mods from old gear.

    .

    This is the biggest point.

If people feel that gear isn't that big of a difference, they will at least try harder instead of crying about it.

And if you're actually good at pvp'ing (aka: you run in a premade), all this means is:

    1) Faster pops

    2) More pug population

The shortsightedness of many of my fellow BM's baffles me

  14. There's auto-facing because zig-zagging around a melee like a crack addict isn't skillful, it's stupid and cowardly.

    Fight head-on and stop dodging.

    lol

So basically every fight should just be two people standing there pressing abilities without moving?

    rofl

Just put in collision, and take autofacing out. Or do what Rift did (and only keep autofacing for snipers/gunslingers)

  15. 50 bucks says I run circles around you in PvP. Keep talking though. :p

The point is, other people got Champ gear through this system. Many people are geared. Now they are going to lower the drop rate of champ gear and make the only reliable way to get it through BM bags. This is the problem. If it was this system from the start it would have been fine.

Didn't you know? Running circles around people in this game means you're a noob.
