  1. IMHO this game failed from the start.

1.2 won't change this... patch notes are a terrible joke. Sadly, it seems Bioware just don't know what they're doing. They're not fixing any current main issues, they're just adding little stuff to try and extend the global interest on this game (not losing subs)... In the end they will fail.

    It's all marketing, people.

Anyone who can't see this might aswell be playing a single player RPG.

But hey... if you're happy with this online gaming failure, it's ok!

    Yet....here you are :)

    /cheers

  2.

Lol... i hate to say this, but you put those three outfits in the game with the exception of the last one you will get responses like:

"OMG I AM WEARING RAGS NOW?!?! GG BIOWARE"

How about you all just face that it's impossible to please everyone

  3. And you didn't bother to read it or search for yourself.

I should have guessed as much would happen.

    EDIT -

Here's some others, just to see you squirm.

    http://www.goshen.edu/art/ed/Compose.htm

    http://www.jiskha.com/art/visual_arts/ped.html

    http://www.johnlovett.com/test.htm

I have now read your first link to wikipedia, and the following 3 links you posted. They all talk about the basics and fundamentals of art design, but not one single one of them help your point in the slightest.

You say they don't adhere to basic concepts, but you fail to explain why... you simply link a source and hope we'll investigate our own answer.

I investigated, despite your horrid attempts at arguing since it feels like we are doing the work for you. I found that the art is perfectly acceptable, the visuals may not appeal to all, which is perfectly within reason. There is a reason why there isn't one widely accepted artist as "the best." Simply because it's just an opinion. In this instance, you've taken your opinion, and tried to apply it to the fundamentals of art, which honestly just makes you look silly.

Did they not color inside the lines enough for you? This argument has me bored now.

  4. This problem will be less problematic when they add Rated Warzones in next patch, or the pre-season anyway.

Regular games will become TDM, and guilds will organize to win ranked ones.

  5. That article is misleading...AMD will still make processors just less of the high performance models.....which sucks I think, my 8 core kicks *** I think they were onto something with a couple more years of design.

Right, point is they are not going to be competing with Intel Gaming machines anymore

  6. If i'm not mistaken. The latest update to drivers that they came out with has improved performance in SWTOR.

I don't have a Nvidia card but this is what everyone in my guild is saying.

    This driver didn't target SWTOR:

  7. I have an AMD FX6100 and it runs just fine. I think AMD is a better buy for the money imho.

    lol no.

In fact, AMD is actually stopping production and creation of many CPU's.

Sandy Bridge Processors or 32 Nanometer nomenclature is considerably better than anything AMD has to offer right now.

    2100(k) for i3, 2500(k) for i5 quadcore, and 2700(k) for i7

Ivy bridge is hittin market soon.

  8. Went to best buy to see about getting a new pc but I only have 950 to spend. The total came to 1060. Mind you I'm running this game on a 6 year old iMac because it's all I have. Love te game but it runs like crap. Still manage to have fun most of the time when I'm not slowed down to a frame a second. Guess I'm just writing this because I'm sad and frustrated.

    Ahh!

    /panics

    Don't go to best buy!

Build it yourself or buy from a gaming PC site or find a local place to build you one.

Please don't buy best buy, you will regret every last inch of it.

  9. Alts are not end-game contet, they are just a poor substitute of one.

    See above.

Datacrons=done, codex=imbossibru (some stuff is bugged)

Affection = maxed, gear is champion with 2 of my companions wearing full bm.

    Anything else?

What GUIDE are you reading from that determines precisely what IS and what IS NOT end-game content?

If I compared every single MMO out there, they would all have very different end-game content; things to do, places to go, what you do for fun. It's all perception, telling someone that something isn't end-game is plain boring.

Reality: Devs built a game around story, and also built in a system that promotes rolling NEW characters, I.E. Legacy System. If you cannot grasp that concept, there is no helping you. If you can see what I mean, then perhaps you can begin to understand the approach this game is making.

Granted, you may not like said approach, or enjoy the game at all. If you choose to close your eyes to things to make your points, you aren't helping anyone; and you are only hurting yourself. Those who enjoy this game, will continue to play it; those who do not enjoy the game will quit, eventually.

They will not however change the game just to cater to traditional MMO trends. They are doing things their way.

  10. I completely agree with the OP. This game and all of Biowares games have always done a fantastic job of keeping me heavily interested in the story development.

In fact, the first time I played Mass Effect I was just so confused as to how I had ever enjoyed a game without intense thought-filled stories, they just immerse you in it right away.

Since that point I've only fallen deeper in love with their games; the older "read your game" style of play just isn't as appealing to me. So much so in fact, when 'Skyrim' or games of that Caliber come out, if they don't maintain voice overs, I simply lose interest. Not to say I don't still try them, but these days, games need voice over.

Mass Effect 3 is the ONLY game that will tear me away from TOR for a month -- two at most, simply because I am so invested in that storyline, I couldn't bear to wait any longer to see the ultimate fate of Commander Shepard.

Best part is, by the time I get back, 1.2 and many other new features will be all over the place in TOR, giving me an even better experience with the game when I get back.

  11. Wait a minute, who is arguing that TOR has failed?

Not one single person here has proof the game is failing, but those loving it apparently just don't matter.

I have loved this game from the moment I beta tested, and haven't stopped and I don't intend on stopping any time soon.

Anyone who claims TOR has failed hasn't really done their research, or is closing their eyes to reality.

Even if every single person in this General Discussion forum quit, you wouldn't be even close to approaching 5% of the player base, and that's about 85,000 people.

  12. You are not the center of the world, sir, I happen to like korean MMOs and so do many other players. See? There is a market for both.

While I betatested TERA over a year ago and think it's just OK, saying that GW2 shows "a little promise" just goes on to show how little you know - especially now that the press NDA was lifted on monday and everybody are praising it. MMORPG.com, Massively, Kotaku, GameSpot etc all love it, couldn't get enough of it and say it is the game of 2012, the MMO we've been waiting for years, and a breath of fresh air when compared to stupid let-me-hold-your-hand tunneled themepark MMOs like SWTOR.

Don't take it from me, take it from an united game press and non-press players who also got to play last weekend.

And as I was writing this, my Galaxy S2 went ding -> you got a new e-mail and tada, sign up process for GW2 beta is here, lol.

    CU :)

It's funny you mention those sites...

What happened to "Those sites are all payed for and can't be trusted"

    According to some people:

    When we are talking about SWTOR they are bad sites;

When we are talking about GW2, they are spot on?

    Nice logic.

  13. No problems. Works just fine, but it's the same as the last patch in reference to SWTOR.

If you look at the patch notes, it's not pertinent to this game.

  14. Not only did it not deliver on the hype, but it sort of killed the Bioware name for me. After Dragon Age 2 and now this, I have lost my respect for this studio.

I'd agree with you on DA2 for the most part, but it wasn't THAT bad. Lots of people still liked it, and it did make money.

But every other game of theirs were wildly successful. Mass Effect is my second favorite RPG single player of all time. First favorite would probably still be Final Fantasy 2 or 3 from SNES, or possibly FF7 from PS1.

I have some 1500 hours logged between ME/ME2, at least 800 hours on Dragon Age: Origins, probably 2000+ hours from Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs gate, Baldurs gate II, and neverwinter nights II. Maybe 500 hours ish between KOTOR I / II, and a crap ton more on Dark Ages of Camelot and Ultima Online.

As far as I am concerned, Bioware could flop the next 10 games and I still would have the upmost respect for them, since I have been gaming on their games for the better part of 20 years.

  15. Honest question here, are free to play MMOs actually what people want? For me the cost of a monthly subscription is so negligible it really doesn't affect my choice on a game. Nothing would keep me away from a game more than (Pay to win).

    Couldn't agree more.

$15 equates to $.50 a day. I could wander the streets collecting cans and make that.

  16. Release was 50. If you want to go all the way back to JP release. NA got Rise of the Zilart with the game release which was indeed level cap 70. Which was raised to 75 before any NA had even come close to the 70 cap.

Edit: Also Sky was the first expansion. 2nd expansion was Chains of Promatia, which was Sea. I'm pretty sure something around 75% of players hadn't even got to Sky by the time COP had been released...

Yeah, it was easy if you were in a JP LS.

Yeah, I wasn't talking JP release, they had it forever before we even started. Granted I had been wanting to play it ever since I saw it's release there.

I thought for sure there was another expansion thrown in there, but it has been a LONG time. The first thing I did was unlock sky, it had the best leveling zones and it's where all the groups who knew what they were doing would go. Plus you got to fight all the bosses, and it was a lot of fun. Long, but mostly easy if you knew what you were doing and your healers / casters didn't suck, I guess a lot also depended on if your nin/pld/war could tank as well. War's less commonly tanks though, mostly dual wield for dps. Anyway, i am running wildly off topic.
