  1. I don't know if I would call it a marketing ploy, but the reason this happened is they reset the comm system. They completely canned planetary and classic comms. It kind of sucks, but you'll have to wait until you get into SoR to spend any of them really (nice 172 mods vendor on Rishi). I don't think there is a limit on how long you can be over cap, but you also can't earn more basic comms right now, essentially any you make in between now and spending enough comms to get below the cap of 1000 is a waste.
  2. I definitely don't feel useless as a tank, I play a vanguard with 4 pieces of combat tech gear and the rest is supercomando. If you play the class right it's hard to notice, you just got to spam taunts, guard your squishy casters, and you can still do decent amounts of damage. Sure, not as much as a marauder or sage, but they again you're a tank. It's just a different play style.
  3. Thanks for all this great info!

So far I have been following everything in the first post because I am unsure on what I want or need.

I am lvl 22, and just curious what is the advantage of tracer missile if you don't take tracer lock?

When I unload 5 tracers and then railshot i see no increase in damage. Right now powershot is doing more damage then tracer, so trying to figure out the advantage?

I understand once I get high enough to get tracer lock suppose to make a huge difference with railshot, but i was planning on going hybrid with bodyguard if possible and I dont see tracer lock in your build.

    Thanks

If I'm not mistaken it has a stack able 4% armor debuff (up to 20%) so it may not be as noticeable but it is actually doing something.

  4. Playing as a healer is really fun and easy, you do lack an in game rez as mentioned before, however you still can do a fair amount of dps. Also heat gets progressively easier to manage with more points in some of the healing tree items. I plan on re speccing as a healer when I reach cap.
  5. Vent is free if you use your own system as the server. Some guilds rent server space for better capacity/ease of use.

Honestly its not that much to rent a server if he plans on just having a few of his friends on to play with him, also for a guild a few bucks here and there can pick up the extra slots needed. All in all either mumble or vent are great services.

  6. In my experience I would say Skype<Ventrillo<Mumble. Not to say Vent isn't wonderful it's a great app however I'm a huge fan of mumble now that I've had a chance to try it out, sound quality is way better and it doesn't seem to be a memory hog in the least bit.
