  1. Am I incorrect, or is the end game grind a little ridiculous? For a returning player at level 70 with tier 1 gear and no credits, it looks like it would take months of playing all day to get 248 on everything - which is particularly frustrating because I'm getting crushed in PvP. I had a lot of fun PvPing pre-70, but now it just seems like I get rolled by everyone. Augments are super pricey - I'd craft them, but I only have one companion until I progress the story...

Also, the gearing seems super convoluted. I can only upgrade equipment from "unassembled" tokens... so I should just save everything until I can afford to buy/turn in everything up until the 4th tier?

What's the best way to go about this? I played for hours today and can't even afford to upgrade a single item to the next tier. What do I need to claim/disintegrate from the boxes I get? This whole RNG crate thing is a mess to me.

  2. Unless of course in the rules to their contest they stated you needed to buy a snickers on July 31st or August 10th, August 31, September 30, and July 19.
I'll be the first to admit, I saw the "Subscribe before October 20th!" in an email and interpreted, apparently, incorrectly, and subscribed without reading the further requirements. But let me ask: have you read the terms and conditions for everything you've agreed to?

Doing Early Access the way they've done it is just... weird. I've played a lot of MMOs, and I've never seen it before. It's always been "Buy X, get early access", not "Be subscribed to X for these specific dates, get early access".

  3. A lot of people are upset about not getting into early access, either because of a bug, because their subscription was dropped for a few days since July, or because they misinterpreted subscribing from July to October as subscribe between July to October.

I think it'd be generous to give all current subscribers early access. Active subscribers are left with nothing to do because the PvE content has been raised to 65, but they aren't 65 and can't level to 65.

If you don't have sympathy for those who weren't subscribed for a while or are in the "learn 2 read" club for those who misinterpreted the early access requirements, that's fair. All I'm asking is for BioWare to throw a bone to a lot of us who made a mistake. Personally, I wouldn't have subscribed until later had I comprehended the requirements correctly.

    Thanks.

  4. Oh bull. At the bottom of what advertising for an expansion that most companies do. Where they explain in more detail.

There is nothing untoward about it.

Plenty to criticize BW over. This isn't one of those things. This is people trying to blame them for their own mistakes.

So you've read all the material for all the terms and conditions you've signed in your life? Get off your high horse. "Subscribe from this date to this date" can be interpreted a few ways. Someone else gave a good example: If Snickers had a sweepstakes from October 1st to October 30th, you'd be surprised on the 31st when you aren't entered in the sweepstakes because you didn't buy a Snickers every day.
  5. This roadmap is certainly sad to see. I started playing again with 3.0, and as a PvPer the only thing keeping me playing the game was the prospect of a competitive ranked scene, which I have come to find out is non-existent because of the existing issues with placement matches, win-trading, ranked popularity, and class balance.

Seeing as this is the roadmap for 2015, and knowing that the latest update 3.1 (if we're even calling this an update) took two and a half months to drop, I don't expect to see decent quality of life enhancements to PvP within the year.

The solution seems to be to unsubscribe and bide my time until PvP gets some love.

  6. It's actually quite suprising how well Bioware has decided to alienate an entire group of players like this for so long. The 3.1.1 notes are a joke and who knows when that will come around. God have mercy on the poor souls who want to play ranked.
  7. Aside from this, your Force attacks do benefit from accuracy. Any time you get hit by an Accuracy debuff from a tank, any extra accuracy you have comes into play. Any time you go up against a tank, you're going to need accuracy if you want to hit them very much, since they have non-zero Force/Tech resist chances, and can pop things like Explosive Fuel + Oil Slick on you, and make their F/T resist chance effectively around 60% (not that you can truly counter that). All of your attacks benefit from accuracy, and moreso if the enemy team has even a single tank on it.
Okay, but other than a tank that has resist chances, Accuracy for Force attacks will do nothing. I think because Shadows/Sins do so much Force damage, it's best to get Surge or Alacrity instead of Accuracy.
That's incredibly wrong. You do far less than 80% attacks as force. Leeching Strike, Assassinate, Thrash and Lacerate are all melee attacks and crucial to your Demolish procs. Can't get a demolish proc without melee, can you? Consulars have a base 10% dodge. The DPS loss on a missed LS or Assassinate is gigantic. You are gimping yourself with such low accuracy.

Don't even get me started on Deception, which is far more Accuracy dependent.

Did you come to these forums genuinely seeking help or are you satisfied with what you have? From the tone of the posts, I'm assuming the latter; which makes the entirety of this topic - irrelevant.

How much am I gimping myself? What DPS should I be hitting each game?
  8. this is my min/max sin..i went with power augments..thinking of trying out resolve augments have a hunch that i need to know ..usually i run deception but when i do dailies i run hatred..just get them all in a pile and let the aoe's drop..haha

I really really like Resolve augments. The extra Willpower that shows on the character menu is sexy as hell, too.

Unlike OP you have all important abilities and most importantly BOTH taunts on your bar. 10/10 mate :)
    ikr op is nub

91% Accuracy is too low for any spec.
I don't think Force abilities benefit from Accuracy, and about 80% of my damage I'd estimate comes from my Force attacks.
  9. There is unsubstantiated rumor of a SWTOR 2, and there is of course the various SWG emulators out there. I haven't heard and am very doubtful that SOE would bring back SWG. I don't think they even can considering EA has the rights to Star Wars games for the next decade.
  10. There is absolutely not a chance in the world you can sustain yourself without using saber strike.
I do fine. Rarely do I do less than 2k DPS.

I would change 2 critical enhancements/mods into surge. Pls, Tell about working 5% alacrity in pvp
My crit rating comes from my Stalker's earpiece and 13x Resolve augments. Alacrity is nice. I definitely notice more resource regen.
  11. I don't do end-game PvE, so I've no need for it.

I rarely go OOM in PvP, and when I do I'm usually low HP and will Force Cloak, Phase Walk, and heal. It does so little damage and is a waste of a GCD it tends to give my opponents an upper hand when I use it.
