  1. I would actually say charging RL cash for haircuts is the norm in ftp MMOs . Either that or they are free but require the 'unlocking' (i.e. payment for) all but the most basic of hairstyles / colours.

Heck charging RL cash to completely recustomise a character is the norm in ptp (subbed) MMOs.

Anyways this feature is still a long way off and they might still decide to spin the 'barber-shop' aspect of it off to a separate service which is free to subbers (nickle n diming everyone else)

  2. They just fixed it.. you mean unfix the fix right?

I still can't comprehend why so many people are upset (aside from the phantom set)... The Spymaster changes to me are superb, especially the boots and gloves... The trailblazer was a nice touch too.

Never have I seen such an outcry for something to minor...

I sometimes wonder if some people are upset at the wrong things at the moment.... and should focus their attention elsewhere... like the expansion we know is coming but no info, or the inspection bug still present, the mail bug... all the bugs.. still present.

I'd say how your character appears is perhaps the most important thing in the game. If you don't like the way your character looks, and you can't find a new look that you like as much as your old one, then you're going to have a hard time finding the motivation to play that character. Inspection and Mail bugs are irrelevant when you don't log on.

I'd finally got a look on my shadow that I liked, and as a result her playtime was increasing. Now she's stuck with your stereotypical sith robe the likes of which has been done to death already in the game.

  3. i'm continually dissapointed by the people of this thread.

Those of you who bought this item on the GTN, you're not losing anything, your credits aren't real and you can get those back pretty damned easily. But those items had to get to the GTN... how did they get there? mostly from dissapointed customers paying REAL money for the packs to get these items, only to find they're not what we were after in the first place.

Yes, we sold them on, for credits, a digital currency with no real world exchange value. Does that get our ACTUAL money back? no.

They fixed the issue for the people who actually dropped tangible funds, as it should be. And if you bought the packs to get the items for their incorrect appearances, shame on you for not doing your research before parting with your cash. It took two minutes for me to find out a fix was coming for these items, and so i hung on to mine. Heck, i even bought more since the fix was put in to get the trailblazer set, as i said earlier in the thread.

Unless your disappointed purchase took place in the days immediately following the release of the cartel packs I would say shame on you for not taking 15 seconds to check what the armor looked like on the GTN before dropping your 'tangible funds'.

But I guess that explains why cartel packs keep popping up on the GTN. People obviously purchased them and then discovered the armor they were hoping for didn't look quite as they expected it would. Certainly nobody would be so crass as to try and use them to convert 'tangible funds' into credits that aren't even real. Oh wait..

The true victims here are the people who held onto the armor waiting for the change. If they had been truly prescient they would have sold them on the GTN prior to the change then bought them back in a few days time. I predict that would have made them a tidy profit. Ah well, it is only credits after all.

  4. Sorry to add to the drama, but I too must say the new phantom chest is garbage. I can't say I was part of the original "outcry" to have it match the picture, but now that it's been altered, it's just a variation of that same puffy shouldered chest that appears 600 times elsewhere in the game. I hope, if this change is going to stay, they at least offer the chance to get the previous version under some other name.

This whole argument seems to be a 50-50 split (for and against). They can't choose one or the other and not annoy half the populace.....well, half the populace that actually cares. So, split the difference and give the option for both.

    Anywho, that's my 2 cents.

Do a search for posts and threads prior to the 'fix'. You'll find maybe one or two. Thats posts, not threads. Even prior to the 'fix' most of the posts in threads that brought up the discrepancy were "Don't change it!" posts.

All these posts from people defending the change are likely from people who were unaffected by the change. They didn't have their look changed from something relatively unique into something mundane and common.

  5. It's actualy supposed to look like this. For how they "changed" it now. If you open up the Cartel Market, and look at the packs from which you get it. You will see in the picture that it's always supposed to look like that. I was actualy disapointed when I missed out on those shoulders.

To me it seems more likely that someone in advertising got it wrong than having the people responsible for the appearance of the armor AND the people responsible for the icon BOTH being wrong (while still agreeing with each other).

Same. The previous set was too flat. I hate spikes and conical head gear, but a completely flat outfit looks painted on. It's a graphics related thing that I don't quite understand. But basically, 3D is better than 2D imo.

There are too many armors that already share the same look, why do we need another? Meanwhile there are very few 'no frills' armor options for those of us who don't like cumbersome shoulderpads and generic hoods. That's why the outcry has been far far greater due to the change than there ever was (was there ever? i couldn't find one) back when it didn't match the advertisement.

  6. The Phantom Chestguard when equipped looks nothing like its icon in my chest slot or when it rests in my inventory. The icon shows nothing of the hood and shoulderpads I now get when equipped.

In comparison, the icon for Revan's Chest Plate (which the Phantom Chestguard now looks like, barring the colors) shows quite plainly the hood and shoulderpads.

Please change the appearance of the Phantom Chestguard on my character so that it looks more like it's icon.

  7. The old phantom looked unique. The new phantom just looks like a rehash of already existing armor. If I wanted to look like a generic Sith Sorcerer why would I have bought phantom armor when Revan's was sooooo much cheaper?

The real sad thing about all this is a quick search of the forums revealed only one measly thread complaining about how the phantom armor didn't look as advertised.. and that thread only had 9 posts, most of which were "NO! DON"T CHANGE IT!".

  8. Each companion has armor that can be chosen as rewards from quests. Unfortunately this armor is usually obsolete the moment you get it and I'd wager the majority of the playerbase just take the commendation reward. This is a shame as the companion armor frequently features a unified look that cannot be found elsewhere.

Tis a sad thing to see Lord Scourge following JKs around the fleet looking like a jedi

If the companion armor was customisable, like many of the weapons are, we could upgrade the mods within it and preserve the unique look of the companion. Or at least keep Lord Scourge looking like the Sith he is.

  9. So far my crew has completed at least a dozen Tier 2 Rich Lockbox missions.

So far no failures, no schematics, no missions, and most importantly an average loss of 400 credits per mission.

Is there any point to continuing on with these lockbox missions? Can I obtain augment schematics and missions from the augment materials missions?

  10. I had a problem with the confirmation box. You know, that one that pops up after you select your legacy name and gives you a chance to back out.

The problem I encountered was that the legacy name shown in that confimation popup was not the same as what I ended up with.

I entered d'Malaz. The confirmation popup said my legacy would be d'Malaz. What I ended up with was D'malaz.

I don't mind the automatic capitalisation of the first letter, or lowercasing everything else, what bugs me is that the confirmation popup did not accurately show these changes. If that confirmation popup had said my legacy would be D'malaz, like what I ended up with, then I would have picked a different name and moved on. Instead It showed me the name as I had entered it and now I am stuck with a legacy I hide the first moment I can
