  1. If people aren't sure about wanting to play at the end of their two month sub, then chances are they shouldn't be resubbing anyways, regardless of when patch 1.2 comes out.

    If you're on the fence about the game, the patch will revitalize your interest for a few days before you're right back on the fence.

    This guy hit it on the head, which is why I've already canceled mine. It's good until middle of March, but I already find it more enjoyable to log out and do something else, so I can't imagine anything they add in 1.2 will make me say 'Wow, this is amazing and worth my money.'

    I'd suggest the same to the OP.

  2. When can we expect Same Gender Romance Arcs (Options) (SGRAs) to be implemented? And when they are implemented, in what form? Will [Flirt] options be available for random NPCs as we quest, similar to how the game currently treats hetero-options, or will it only be an SGRA for our companion(s)? Will currently companions be made SGRA-able or is the intent to only make future, new companions an option for SGRAs? What is currently being done at BW-Austin in preparation for SGRA implementation?
  3. Thanks for proving a point of sorts.

    It's not the levelling process in itself that is boring, it's the implementation that has been made in most MMOs, when compared with single-player RPGs where, oh wonder, levelling is fun because it is the focus of the game.

    Which brings me to my favourite rant : if you want the levelling process to be enjoyable - hell, if you want *any part of the game* to be enjoyable - you have to put effort into it as a designer.

    Now in tOR, effort was put in a few places here and there, but most of it was obviously churned out almost as an afterthought, or, rather, a stereotyped exercise in time sink creation. Instead of having Skyrim with an actual endgame attached to it, you have class stories stretched too thin over a dozen planets and mixed beyond recognition with filler quests (not to mention that, most of the time, the class story itself is nothing to brag about, which makes me wonder if Bioware has lost its touch).

    But it's not the concept of levelling alts which is at fault. Rather, it is the implementation of it. Which is a fault many MMOs share.

    I said it after my first weekend in beta. I said it after my second and third weekend in beta. And now, after release, it's only been re-affirmed.

    BioWare wanted to make a Single Player game. Somewhere in development, early on, they were told to turn it into an MMO. What they ended up with was an MMO with a forced multiplayer option tacked on.

    They really SHOULD have stuck with KotOR 3-6 (saying KotOR 3-11 is a joke, given all the shared content between classes). Single player games is what BioWare does well.

  4. Well, everybody knows its true :)

    Any decent gamer who is not such an amazing SW fan already quit the game..cause from the game perspective its rubbish.

    This is 110% true. I am still here for two reasons: A.) I got a 60 Day Time Card for Christmas that doesn't end until March 19th and B.) I still like glowbats. However, once A.) comes to an end, B.) will be insufficient to keep me here. As a story, SW:TOR is okay (not good, but okay). As a game, an MMO in particular? Rubbish. I DID expect more after 6 years in development.

  5. I'm in the same boat as you, Next month will probably be my last month of star wars as I'm not rerolling. Thats so damn lame, Even if I was gonna reroll there is no point in playing the characters I currently have for the next 2 weeks. As they will be useless then.

    I think this is your real option.

    Honestly, it's stupid. They should do a temporary server xfer to AUS servers for anyone who wants it, US/EU included. Put a big disclaimer letting them know ping will be garbage and they can't transfer back. But if you've been playing with this group for a while, their time works for you, telling you to "reroll," losing your characters, items, datacrons, legacy, etc., is a half-baked solution.

  6. No one in our raid is stupid enough to DPS a boss that is immune, so this wasn't the cause of SOA dropping aggro.

    Our first couple attempts people were trying to DPS him. After the aggro dumps, I told them to stop except when he was vulnerable, and they did, but the aggro dump continued to happen. I've tried taunting before and after a mind trap and still would have Soa dropping aggro and running to someone else before I could position him for a pillar drop. This is annoying as hell. I'd honestly rather the occasional reset because the tank is mind trapped over this, but the fact they can't just make it so he doesn't mind trap his top aggro is mind boggling.

  7. Thank you for contacting us regarding the bug wherein Soa's targeting behavior is too random in the quest "Eternity Vault." Kindly be advised that this is a known bug. We regret we will be unable to provide you with further updates on this issue, but recommend checking future patch notes for any up to date information.

    We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and to thank you again for the valuable feedback you have provided. Please do not report any other issues you may encounter while playing.

    ;)

    Fixed it for you.

  8. I agree that current characters should have same-gender romance options enabled. It actually blows my mind that they didn't program it in such a way as to make it easy (use a %gender instead of fixed male/female in terms of descriptive terms and just sub in the correct value pending character gender).

    I do agree that it would be nice to have an option to enable/disable romance (not just SGRA; all or none, get over it). While an option at character select is a great option, you'd have some situations such as the parents in Page 1 where they would like to turn off romance options for their children, and so some kind of social or parental toggle would likely provide an all-encompassing solution, especially if characters have already been created.

    This is a big issue for me. On top of the clunky and lacking gameplay at most times, lack of SGRA is preventing me from playing an alt. I already had my alt planned as a female Sage, so lack of SGRA means I miss out on part of the game that I would like to experience (not interest in the male options, sorry). If by March 19th (when my 60 day Time Card ends) BioWare hasn't at least provided details regarding SGRA and when they plan to introduce it and in what form, it will be time for me to move on. End-game is lacking, whole-heartedly, so without an alt I can't see any reason to continue playing (even now, but I am going to give them some time first to remedy the situation).

  9. As a suggestion for Legacy Perks, I would submit the following:

    Legacy Bank - Similar to a guild bank, but for your Legacy. One, maybe two (purchased) tabs that are shared amongst all of the characters in your legacy. Just as with your normal bank, materials stored in the Legacy Bank can be used by your characters in crafting.

    Legacy Social Rank - The point of Social Rank is to be a very loose indicator that you group up and do content with other players often. I don't see why that restriction to be held to only one character. I think after a certain amount of legacy levels you should unlock a shared Social rank. Once unlocked, your Legacy Social Rank could either become the sum of all of the Social points on all of your characters or the maximum value on any character. After that, any gains on one character would bump your shared Social rank up.

    Legacy Datacrons - While "fun," after obtaining datacrons on one character it would be nice to be able to share them with other characters in your legacy. I think after achieving a certain legacy level, any datacrons you have on one character should be shared amongst all characters in your legacy. To prevent any "unfair" advantage by having a low-level stacked with the stat bonuses of all the datacrons, add a recommended minimum level to each one (internal modifier) that will only reward that datacron Codex entry/stats/experience once the recommended minimum level is reached.

  10. It appears to happen to me when I zone or transition. I ran Red Reaper yesterday and by the end of the instance, from using all of the lifts, I couldn't Guard anyone in my group. Each time I'd transition to a new area, Guard would drop, but it would tell me my previous target was already Guarded.
  11. Agreed. It's nothing but underhanded marketing crap. They are basically stringing players along, and it pisses me off.

    The best part? March 19th would be the end of a billing cycle for anyone subbed from day 1. March 20th is a Tuesday (update day). I would not be surprised if they release this "major" content update on 3/20.

    In terms of the rewards, I would like to see:

    Legacy Bank

    Shared Datacrons (once you find it on one character you get it on all)

    Shared Social Points (once unlocked, would either sum up the social points on all characters to create your Legacy Social Rank or just use the value of the highest social rank on any one character)

  12. 6/10 for leveling.

    The conversations were interesting, at first, but quickly lost their luster (just like AoC's "combo" system was great at first but became tedious over time). Ultimately, your choices are meaningless (Diplomacy at Grade 6 awards 60-120 LS/DS points per mission, so you can just take that and easily max either side you want). Story aside, gameplay/mechanics are sub-par for the genre. I've tried to make an alt, but knowing that a vast majority of the content will just be rehashed in the process of me seeing the new class story turns me off and makes me rather quit than play another character to 50.

    2/10 End-game.

    Obscene number of bugs make most of the end-game unfun. Numerous mechanics where one person being unsatisfactory resulting in the entire raid being penalized, even on Normal/HM difficulties is annoying (not saying easy mode, but until NMM, you should have some leeway for mistakes). The complete lack of creativity in encounters (let's take everything, and just add an enrage timer!) is appalling.

  13. Its a bug. I thought they fixed it???? Guess not.

    Your first mistake was assuming they fix stuff. How many times now have they said in patch notes that some issue has been fixed, only to immediately have people pointing out no such thing has happened? I am really questioning whether or not they DO have any kind of internal testing.

  14. The problem is:

    Normal = Very Easy

    Hard = Easy

    Nightmare = Normal

    And frankly, most of the people who complain everything is too easy are not 10/10 16m nightmare.

    I think we were saying the same thing. I think it's too easy. Others were saying that they needed to tune things based on the non-MMO vets. I was arguing that they have one difficulty for that, and that the other difficulties should be much more difficult/complicated.

  15. Does this mean Master Looting is fixed for Normal mode operations? Because I really don't need a 4th Columi BP (where as our recent 50's do)

    No. Normal is working as intended in the sense that gear is auto-assigned. The issue was setting the loot system to Master Looter would result in people having gear auto-assigned on the corpse, but unable to actually loot it. This will fix that issue, allowing them to still loot their gear with ML on.

    What they didn't mention, though, was the issue with schematics/crafting materials and not showing up when ML is on.

  16. The real boost is in making craftable orange gear crittable. It becomes Best in Slot (BiS). If it crits, you get an Augment slot, meaning with the Purple changes you can rip out all of the mods, preserving your set bonus, of a high-tier piece of armor and put them into a critted orange, which also lets you put in an Augment. This is an extra +28 to +34 in a stat of your choice.
  17. Am I the only one who started unconsciously putting this to music?

    I was trying to catch the tune to rap to.

    OP, find a song that has a good beat to go with this and you'll have struck gold.

    Edit: Apparently, that song by John Lajoie is the background music. =P
