  1. Well, when i saw the 15 lvl capped chars in wow, i giggled a bit tbh. And i understand why you have a problem with leveling in this game. Let me ask you, when did you start playing wow, and how long have you been level capped?

I've played wow for years, started a little bit before the Burning Crusade, and quit halfway MoP. Why did I quit? because the game became too easy, you could level a character in no time just by queueing up and no-braining through dungeons, pull smash smash dungeon done.. so yes, this game makes you use a slightly bigger portion of the brain, use your skills properly and heal once in a while. Which 'used' to be the case in wow too, so that explains my question 'when did you start playing wow'

As to this game, leveling isn't hard at all, and if you are getting slammed by mobs or have a problem leveling, there's probably a good reason to it.. Gear not up to date (yours as well as your companions), you skipped too much content and are under the planets target level, you aren't using your arsenal of spells (read interrupt and stun) and are just using a basic attack, ...

Now, tbh, the tactic i was talking about in wow, with the dungeons, guess what, this game has it too. I would suggest queueing for the Kuat Tactical once you get lvl 15, do a couple and go back to the planet, hell, you can lvl all the way with Kuat, and it's not even hard (do i dare to say it's faster then doing quests?).

If you had been new to MMO's I'd say give it some time and get to know the game a bit, how your spells work, etc, but seeing you aren't new to MMO's at all, these things i summed up are just the usual stuff right? nothing different to wow (or is it, since wow is so easy nowadays everything is given to you on a platter)

(And just to prevent misunderstandings, i don't have a problem with wow at all, i loved playing it and i still cherish good memories i had over there.)

  2. The Old Republic runs better at medium graphics with shading options off than simply setting everything to 'Low' or 'Off'. There are many, MANY visual glitches that people point out constantly, usually involving clipping or something similar. Finally, there are many games that look better visually yet still run far smoother--and this isn't a computer problem, this computer was built literally a month ago, it couldn't be any newer.

    But, sure, it's an opinion.

I'm just gonna abscond from this.

If your computer was built a month ago, i could question your pc building skills, i'm running on a 5 year old pc and play on max settings without stutter.

  3. Worst part is we are punished because of this decision. Love this game but it could be so much more. Like trying to make a Ferrari with Lawn mower parts. (No car expert but I am assuming that's pretty damn difficult)

Could have been possible though, making ferrari with lawnmower parts, lamborgini finds its origin in tractors :p

  4. I'm not entirely sure, but isn't the datacron master a meta achiev? i haven't found it in the achiev list, but read on a website (think it was swtor-spy) that you get it when you got the datacron exploration achievs of all planets.
  5. I can guarantee you it isn't his system. The performance is terrible in 16 man Operations and Warzones.

well, if you had read what i was actually saying, the 'why' performance in 16 man ops and warzones 'could' be there, it has everything to do with 'our' systems (and yes i'm generalizing about the systems). Now i was not saying that we have bad computers, i was 'trying' to explain why this issue could be there, as what another games tech support told me, which is also applicable to our game over here. small enviroment, lots of textures to load, stressing system (there i summed it up for you).

Other issue could also be the engine, i won't deny that, but if tech support of a 10 year old game that has similar issues (people who know it will agree on the Dalaran issue) give that explenation, i'm willing to accept that explenation, as even the most powerfull computers couldn't handle 'Dalaran'.

edit, also see Korevas his reply above, concerning the CPU, which is correct ;)

  6. Personally "The Repopulation" has my interest the most. It has everything I am looking for in a game right now. Thought that isn't to say I would stop playing SWTOR completely, I'll likely stay with my guild since it is one of the major reasons I've played this long. If it wasn't for them, I'd have left long ago.

I stumbled onto that project a while ago too, looked promising. Do they already have a launch date or something?

  7. My system:

    I7 4930k

    32 gigs RAM

    Asus Rampage Formula V

    Video cards 780i x 2

I tried without SLI aswell, same problem. I tried on very low settings, different resolutions...various tweaks I found on this forum...nothing. One of my friends that have this issue, has a totally different setup, with new-ish hardware...same.

ESO, GW2, WoW, Secret World - the mmo's I play or played on this system, work perfectly. I starting to think that Windows 8 is the problem with this game, but I'm not sure. Also, I've seen many complain on reddit and this forum about Warzone FPS. And tbh, when a game runs perfectly in PVE and has low fps in Warzones, I don't think it's a local issue :)

Do you have the same issues when doing 16 man raids? Then i can kind off guess what a part of the cause is (something i had in WoW too during WotLK). Back then Blizzard came back to me that the performance issues were cause by so many players in a small enviroment, stressing your system because of all the different player textures being loaded. I can assume that swtor has that same issue in those circumstances, maybe even worse as swtor has a broader range of character customisation then wow at that point (no transmogging yet), having 16 players together with all different gearsets, that all have to be loaded apparently stresses your system (based on what Blizzard said back in the day). and a superb combo of gpu isn't going to solve this.

That being said, it's a local issue, but i wouldn't know what you can do about it.

(out of curiosity, what kind of ram do you have?)

  8. Running dual card is pure overkill for this game imo, i would suggest looking into your system configuration and find the bottleneck, since i have a far worse setup and get more fps then you, something must be wrong in your config.. Not saying you have a bad system, just that something is probably bottlenecking your performance, could be a compatibility issue, for example gpu upgrade on older motherboard or something?

I was talking to someone on Yavin the other day who had a similar issue, until he replaced his 5 year old motherboard, he had (in those 5 years) upgraded ram/gpu etc, but he wasn't getting a performance upgrade, mobo upgrade solved the issue.

Something else to keep in mind is that these kind of games aren't gpu dpeendant, they are CPU heavy, so that's also something you might want to look at.

  9. The Yavin dailies take as long as the Section X dailies, daily zones are supposed to be a timesink, but to say they take too long, not really.. And While i agree that they don't give enough credits (lvl 50 dailies give more), theer's plenty extra stuff on Yavin that can up your creditgain, just slicing or gathering resources which are available abundantly on Yavin easily makes you gain more money then in other daily wones.
  10. slicing on yavin should be good, at least i was told so here on the forum. but you will probably have a lot of competition on that. but if you can play on times not many players are on, that could be worth a try.

This is the best way imo, while old heroics and running of dailies do grant a fair amount of credits, slicing on yavin is just unbelievable, if you're lucky you can make 500k+ per hour, and they keep spawning ;)

  11. I figured it out. I think.

The dailies and side quests are listed together on Dulfy.

But only the ones listed as DAILIES can be done after the story.

Thats why only the daily ones are available for click. Just dawned on me...

Well, for me even the daily ones are unavailable..

  12. I have done the quest. In plain sight. I cannot pick up the dailies that are unlocked by it. It has been weeks since i first ran through rishi.

I'm having the same problem, i ran the dailies in the first week, haven't done them for a while but wanted to go back for some daily questing on Rishi, but none of the quests are available anymore, only the one that gives the companion offhands. Submitted a ticket but no response yet.

  13. If the new companion armor sets were moddable you could easily get full sets of 192 for all your characters.

true, but again, that's not what the thread was about, the op basicly wanted to say that the implementation of those legacy companion sets is a slap in the face for the cybertech crafters that invested time and resouces in getting the purple droid part schematics.

But i agree that this isn't the downfall of cybertech crafting, there's plenty of other things to be crafted that benefit the choice of having the cybertech crew skill.

  14. You get one moddable for each slot though. But that's way before you hit Cybertech 400. Ones that have "Custom" in their name.

well, that isn't the case for the latest ones, that came with the expansion, those are like the czerka ones, not moddable. Which is what the point of the OP was about.. I haven't compared the stats with the companion legacy gear from the Yavin quest yet, so i couldn't tell if the crafted ones are better or not, someone in another thread said the crafted ones were better, but wtill, why buy a crafted one when you can get a set free, even if there's a minor difference in stats

  15. No I agree with everything you said, I never said the forums I was in were good. Sadly I would say these forums currently are worse then the WoW forums. Just my opionion though...

I remember other times in WoW, the worse period was the lich king exploit with the engineering grenades lolz

  16. Welcome to crafting. I have chrs with all the skills. Since people are getting all this spiffy gear for companions I won't be selling as much. So frelling what. The game doesn't revolve around me. No one forces you to craft or put out the expense and effort to gain the skills. You aren't owed jack.

That wasn't the point i wanted to make, and i didn't say i was owed something..

Just pointing out what the OP said in contradiction to what everyone was assuming incorrectly in the thread.

you says 'not selling as much' i say 'not selling at all', who'd buy something, even for just a fair price, if you can get it for free.

and it's true, no one forces me to do anything, 'in my opinion' it's just a bad decision by bioware to add these free droid parts when they had just made an added value to one of their crew skills.

  17. nothing keeping you from doing the sarlacc pit heroic solo for the funz ;)

on topic, besides the GSI quests, i still haven't finished all achuachievements on tatooine, so sometimes i got there for an hour or 2 running around on the planet killing stuff and enjoying the planet on my speeder. as long as you don't have 100% achievs on the planet or got bored of the gsi quests, there's a;ways something you can do over there, even if it's just killing some low levels running around ;)

  18. the appearance terminal is the worst incarnation i have seen of a barbershop in a mmo in a while. At the very least since barbershops became fairly standard. Keep the appearance vendor cartel market for changing huge things like species, skin tone, and eye color but hair, beards and hair color should just cost some creds

I agree that a credit option should be there, on the other handm subscribers get free cartel coins, and as subscriber the cartel coin cost to change appearance isn't much, so in theory you get free changes without having to use the farmed credits.

  19. I think alot of people who reply in this thread are missing the point of the OP.

I know a lot of people invested time and resources on getting the new purple droid part schematics that were available from cybertech, which are now obsolete.

I can agree that the prices for these crafted droid parts were rather high, but so are certain other crafted items.

The point is that these droid parts (which were demanded for a while) were finally available from crafting now became obsolete because they are now given away for free in the quest reward, so no point in crafting those parts anymore, thus a loss of time and resources spent getting the right schematics.

  20. - Mannequins of some sort to allow strongholds to display armor sets

    • a hairdresser shop in fleet so that we can change our hair cut or beard or even ability to paint our hair.

In a way you can have mannequins in your stronghold, put the gear you want to display on one of your companions ;)

And the hairdresser, why, we have the appearance terminal, which basicly allows you to change every option of your character.
