  1. And not even EQ was as bad as this game, at least in EQ you actually had a chance of outrunning the mobs, as well as things like group invisibility.

You obviously never played EQ. If you did, you would know that any aggro you got would chase you across an entire zone until you zoned out. This is the origin of "TRAIN TO ZONE!!!" shout because literally you would have a train of mobs chasing you to the zone.

(Anyone sitting at the zone line had to be careful because the mobs would attack those people once the other person zoned out. Crushbone was notorious for this happening when people pulled the entire King room by mistake)

  2. Great post! While I am enjoying the game, and do not have the many complaints others on the forums have - I did feel like SOMETHING was amiss with the game and I could not pinpoint it. But this very well written and thoughtful post does help me understand a bit more my feelings towards it.

Although brand new, the game does feel dated in some of its mechanics in contrast to Everquest 2 (which I had left to come here) and other games I had been playing recently. I do feel, however, that SWTOR will adjust quickly and make the necessary changes to catch up to the standards people expect in modern games.

  3. im loving this game but TBH its making me worryed been waiting for this game sense it was announced back in 07 i really wanted to game to do well and keep me away from WoW and hopefully bring my friends over but with all these bad comments and stuff is not helping at all but however i give this game a 8/10 it would be a 10/10 if the servers were fixed

Have you ever worked in the gaming industry? I interned at Funcom (marketing department) and can tell you that after some minor investigating, we had found a major effort by an unnamed competitor who had employees working the major gaming forums as well as the official Age of Conan forums to talk the game down and raise unrest from the player-base. It is a nasty tactic, but competition can get nasty when their our hundreds of millions of dollars on the line.
