  1. Hello all. I am looking for, as the title says, an all trooper guild. I have played since launch and have several 55s, but I've been eager to try an all trooper guild recently. I am experienced in every aspect of the game, and was an officer in a guild on The Ebon Hawk server. If anyone knows of any guilds like this, please let me know! Thanks.

  3. Shout out to the pug imp group and Nemesis that qued for ranked last night against Inconceivable and myself. Good matches, very close.

I hope teams can start queing earlier though. When you que that late, most people can only get maybe 1 or 2 matches in before having to log for the night.

Mandos or Recluse/Project Mayhem was the other group. But ya, I would love to start earlier. But we had scheduled to start around 10 CST in order to fight Nemesis. First match was against y'all. Next 3 were against them. It was definitely a good night though. So close matches all around.

  4. Well the garden needs tending. The Ebon Hawk is the worst I've seen it in the last 10 months. We don't see you in the 1-40 game. RP an 40-55 might as well be playing WOW, because it's not even the same game. Anyone that makes it to 50-55 would have to suffer the worst MMO experience of all time to get there currently. That's your server 1-40. Leaving us alone to completely ruin the game is only ruining your game by filling it with jaded damaged players. You should consider doing something about this. Good luck with that.

Im sorry you had a bad experience here. But it's definitely not a bad community. I have characters on The Shadowlands and Harbinger, both of which have worse communities than TEH does. I love this community, and even the people I hate, I can get past that. It is a tight community, and I have made some awesome friends here. Wouldn't leave it.

  5. <Mandalorians of Recluse> is not primarily RP, but we do have a strong group of players that enjoys RP. We have an ongoing story every Tuesday. It is a great story. We are NOT just BH's, however. We welcome any class. If you would like, I will link the website and you can check out all the details and see what you think. If you are interested, just send me a mail in game to Nevarr.

  6. I can't speak to the RP side of the game...I don't really get involved in that much.

For PvE I think it's fairly solid. There's a fair amount of guild grinding NiM modes right now and several more that have HM basically on farm. We aren't too heavy on the progression 'scene' here but we have both HMs on farm and have been working on NiM TfB...just haven't had a chance to get our starters all on at the same time. TWH is so close to coming down, we had a 1% run and several below 5% just can't quite get over the hump.

As far as PvP, I can only speak to the Pub side cuz my imp is on another server now. The quality of players varies wildly and it's really a luck of the draw if you're solo queuing. I win in solos way more on the other server than here. I can usually finish my weekly over there in a day, maybe two. Here it usually is a true weekly and I rarely complete on more than one toon. I've heard the ranked scene is starting to pick back up and I've helped fill in a couple times so I know there are at least a few games happening. Overall the PvP population is just too low for me. Usually there's only 8 total people in a given WZ map..meaning there's only one Pub team running on that map. And a lot of time there's only 2 or 3 total pub teams. On that other server there's generally 4-5 teams on a given map at any given time.

Imp side PvP is definitely a lot more active then Pub side on this server, which sucks. But Imp side has quite a few guilds that are pretty good and are trying. But other servers definitely have more PvP and if that's what you want, I would look elsewhere.

  7. A little clarification here... Incon's full team was queued around 9 pm, sat in queue waiting for over an hour for the big talkers but they declined to get a team together so we pulled in all interested parties for some kickball. After chopping up the teams, the group you faced was the team that happened to hit the button first.

Also, after that match, both kickball teams queued up and popped against each other twice more before we called it a night. We were kinda hoping you'd stick around for at least one more, if you queued again and didn't pop, I blame Bioware... Either way its good to see a new team out, shoot me a message in game or on enjin and we can swap voice server details to help coordinate future matches. Incon is always in Ranked queue on Mon / Wed nights from 9(ish) to midnight EST, see you there!

Ah ok. Ya, we had to swap out a member and we queued back up about 10 minutes after that match, but didn't get anymore pops. We sat in queue for about an hour. We were really eager to keep going. I will pass it on to our head PvPers and see what they wanna do. It could definitely be some fun. See y'all around!

  8. Shout out to Inconceivable/The Core for a great Ranked match last night. It was our guilds first one as a team, and it was fun playing against y'all. We learned a lot. Thanks for the experience. I just wish y'all would have kept queuing. =[
  9. What Xhera said. I am the recruiting officer for Recluse, so if you have any questions, feel free to send me a mail in game. Nevarr is the name. Xhera is the resident PvP Marauder expert, while I am more on the PvE side of things. We do have people of each class that can show you their views on how it's done and all that. As far as the raiding groups go, we are getting back into the swing of things and are doing multiple runs a week again. So I am sure we will be able to accommodate your needs.

Again, just send me a mail and I will do my best to help you out.

  10. I just wanna step in here and touch on this tiny little phrase, for whatever it's worth. (Yes, I know since this is an RP server, most people won't give a ****, but still, humor me at least.)

First off, I want to set up a comparison. StarCraft. I dunno if you're familiar with the game, but there's a wide range of strategies in SCII that are commonly called cheese (basically cheap, no brain tactics). For instance, the photon cannon rush. Probably the most infamous, and then there's the 6 pool zergling rush which is probably the most famous (since almost every game now uses the word 'zerg' to denote a rushing type strategy).

There's a number of similarities between those two cheese strats. They both happen at the beginning of a match. They are extremely simple to do, requiring only that you build a building, and then a handful of cannons or zerglings. They are both highly effective. ... Against unprepared players. The drawbacks? They are easily spotted, and when spotted, easily countered, 99% of the time to the degree that the 'cheeser' loses immediately after. In any case, if the victim loses, it's almost always because they didn't scout for funny business, and prepare for it.

Now for where I'm going with this. What's a cheap tactic in SWTOR? A team stacked with stealthers? Stealther ninja capping, maybe? For organized groups, diversions? In huttball, leapers crossing the field and passing to a stealther in the endzone?

All those things are solidly in the category of one trick ponies (or at least they should be). Once spotted, they're easily prepared for. Group of stealthers? Always expect them to be behind you, and save CDs accordingly. Ninja capping? Save CC breaker, and call out. Diversions? Don't take the bait. Huttball? Don't give leapers targets to leap to, and make liberal use of roots and CC to prevent the endzone stealther from ever coming into play.

It really shouldn't take very much experience to figure out how to counter 'cheap tactics.' Not unless you're deliberately not learning from them. And if teams continue to lose to cheap tactics, maybe they're less 'cheap,' and more 'effective.' A win is a win (unless honest-to-god hacking is involved).

As a final note, yes, since each match is team based, it is a normal occurrence that 'that one guy' keeps losing it for you because the cheap tactics are still over his head. That happens and you can be annoyed that they fell for the trick. But to continue to complain about it is just silly if you know you don't fall for such things.

Okay. Done being off topic. Back to server transfer talking! I'm still staying! :p

Oh, don't get me wrong. All the tactics you mentioned are perfectly viable, and we use some of them ourselves. That is just good planning and team strategy. I'm not complaining about things like that. I was talking more about what I had listed before that. The wall capping in NC, for example. There is no strategy needed for it, it is difficult to stop without certain attacks, and it's a boring way to win. That is a cheap trick/exploit to me.

  11. I think you overvalue the significance and worth of yourself and other baddies. To the likes of GG, you are nothing but flies on a wall, spittle in a can, worm slime, ...

Can't tell if trolling, or joking. Either way, I never said *I* wasn't a baddie. I'll be the first to admit that I am not that great at PvP. But even people that aren't bad have a hard time against GG. It's just not good sportsmanship to stick around in a place that can't challenge you anymore. I may be nothing more than a fly on the wall to them. If that's the case, why do they want to keep worrying about a fly?

  12. The one thing I'm upset about the most, is that (and I don't know how accurate this is, as I try to stay out of the drama) Game Genie, if transfers happen, are going to stay and just troll people in PvP. They have no intentions of leaving and finding a group that can challenge them. They want to stay and just grief other players. That, to me, is poor sportsmanship and just all around horse****. Sure, you have a right to choose a server. You can go wherever you want. But if you claim to be a PvP guild, and instead of transferring to a place where you can actually face a challenge, or continue to face a challenge (I realize there are quite a few spectacular PvP guilds on the server, despite how I feel about them) then that's scum worthy material. Why would you choose to not better yourselves and just prevent other people from enjoying the PvP?

Now, I am not with a well known guild, nor am I a well known PvP'er, but I'm sure people have seen me around with a few of my other guildies. I am Nevarr with <Mandalorians of Recluse> and I generally run with Kalagar/Althaea and Raffant. They both love PvP, and I consider them to be quite good. I just enjoy PvPing with them, and you generally won't see me doing it without them. We have fought a majority of the people in this thread, sometimes winning, mostly losing. I hate the losing, and I will be the first to admit that I constantly shout about exploits/hacks. If it's true? I couldn't tell you. It's how I cope with a complete roflstomp. But there are times when I don't understand how something has gone down. CC breaking after you already used a CC break? Resolve not capping? Wall capping in NC? I've seen it all. Maybe it's not me fully understanding the PvP mechanics, because as I've said, I am not an avid PvPer, but those things never seem to work as intended when I play against certain people.

With a majority of the PvP guilds leaving the server, I hope that the PvP community will be able to flourish and balance out. Because right now, 55 PvP is pretty one sided, and even though I enjoy it, I can't stand losing to the same group over and over for what I feel is cheap tactics and exploits. If you are an avid PvPer on Ebon Hawk, I strongly encourage you to consider server transfers so that you can continue to grow and fight people that would be worth your time. It's a win/win for everyone involved.

  13. This guy is completely clueless. He's talking about fixes but the developers sure aren't. If you had any idea what has really been going on here you'd know nothing has been fixed, and yes that includes bolster.

So enlighten me, O wise one. I've been PvP'ing since 2.0 dropped, and other than the naked bolster that was fixed, I haven't encountered any other issues with it. So, please. Tell me. I'm curious.

  14. The winner of the "Guy who has no clue this is not a fix but just maintenance" award goes to you.

And the "Master of Sarcasm" reward goes to you. Enjoy it with the cake. I know it's a maintenance. Who. Cares. They are keeping things running. But ya know what? Fine. Let things keep going without a maintenance. I can wait. How long do you think it will take for things to back up and bog down the system? Because that's what will happen. But no, go on ahead and keep being sarcastic. I can sit here.

And as far as the augment exploit goes, I would say that's not a well known issue, because people rarely play ranked, and if they do, it's pre-determined teams who just swap wins. On the off-chance you get a ranked team who actually wants to fight, then ya, they MIGHT use the exploit. But until it becomes a bigger issue, don't expect anything to change.

  15. They are talking game stability here not bug fixes. Noone has answered anything about fixing bugs today we have had a why do we have bolster post. we all know why we have it we want to know why its still broken. Or what is being done to fix it etc. I have been on this site ever since the site opened and i love this game. 2.0 has been a disaster in some regards. In some aspects its worked but others it hasn't. Nor have their fixes worked.

Last time I checked, bolster was fine. Sure, the problem wasn't eliminated completely, but if you go in naked, you won't stand a chance anymore. The reason they aren't addressing it is because it is working just fine. Who cares if this is to fix stability? Would you rather them ignore it and let the servers crash and us be without the game for days? No? Then shut your cake hole and appreciate the fact that they are FIXING something. It may not be what you think needs to be fixed, but they are doing the best they can.

  16. You people are the scum of this game. Seriously, they post to let y'all know things are getting fixed, and here you go whining and ************ about it. I'm tired of this negativity. If all of you quit playing like y'all keep saying you would, this game would be much better off.

Thank you, Amber and the rest of the team, for keeping us updated. You are doing an amazing job.
