  1. Havent actually played in about a month and a half. Got the free 30 days (my original sub ended on April 18th as i paid for 3 months in January) and i have no plans on playing even now. I logged in to see the legacy stuff and what else was new with 1.2. Anyways i think i was on for maybe 5 minnutes before i said to myself "what a waste of time" and quickly logged out. The game just got too boring too quick.

I actually think this 30 day free playtime for people who are lvl 50 or lvl 6 legacy is kinda stupid as well especially when they are giving it to people who arent playing anymore. I mean im not going to use it because im done with the game. So why not just say hey everyone our game has had major problems since release so here is a free 30 days for your loyalty and support? Instead they are rewarding people who dont care anymore (like me) and wont even use this free time...

    Bravo Bioware Bravo....

  2. I have levelled 3 different characters through alderaan and i can say that i did not find it difficult at all. This whole game is like set on Easy Mode. No jokes. Sure i die every once in a while but is still easy as hell. I wouldnt mind if the difficulty was ramped up a little bit.
  3. For the state gaming is at right now if i were you i wouldnt get anything lower than the 6850. This will give you a little bit longer life on your GPU so that in another year you shouldnt have to replace it again.

On that note the GTX 550 is a bad gaming card. Thats the reason it is so cheap. The next card up is the GTX 560 which is over $100 dollars more for a reason. Trust me you do not want to waste your money on the GTX 550. The lowest i would recommend buying for an Nvidia product is the GTX 560.

  4. This post is funny. You act like you are invincible because you have tracer missiles. But everyone knows that ones you go toe to toe with any class the glass breaks. I play a Powertech. Do tracer missiles piss me off? Sure do. When i start getting hit by them do i turn my attention to the glass cannon? Damn right. Grapple in your face or Jet charge and boom im on top of you and /face palm. Now what? How are those tracer missiles working for you now? Oh right you are dead....
  5. BH is the best storyline IMO. While i was very disappointed at first that i couldnt kill Gault because i mean GOD WAS HE ANNOYING. I do in fact like his style when he is your companion. Not too mention he packs a ton of DPS. (Who needs Mako heals when things die so fast with Gault).

For the most part i am pleased that you cant "kill" everyone. Bounty Hunters arent assassins. They dont do that type of dirty work. They carbonize and bring the target to the client.

  6. Im going to disagree with this "send people tells". This can be annoying especially if you are in the middle of a conversation with someone else via tells. If people arent joining your group it is because there just isnt anyone available. General chat is the easiest way to fill a group. Unless you play during off hours there really shouldnt be much of an issue filling a group unless you are doing a flashpoint people do not want to do.
  7. To the nay-sayers and people willing to compare WoW and SWOTR, I would like to point you at the following two links:

    SWOTR: http://www.gamespot.com/news/star-wars-the-old-republic-cost-200-million-to-develop-6348959

    WOW: http://digitalbattle.com/2006/06/15/world-of-warcraft-cost-63-million/

Even if we do not consider the newer MMO to "borrow" and "learn from" older MMO's, the difference in budget and investment should indicate something. The allotment of resources of SWOTR was lopsided. Whereas WoW was launched with two full size continents, SWTOR was launched with about 11-12 planets in total equal in size to mayhaps one of the two continents (and infinitly more linear).

Where did BW put their resources? Voice acting, implemention of "Space missions" and quite surely the license to be allowed to utilize the "Star Wars" trademark. Surely the latter is inevitable, though the other mentioned (and likely more) were uneccesary additions or should have had fewer recources dedicated to them. What suffered? Non-class quests (it's basically a grind), trade skill design and development (there's basically some core items for every profession and each can be upgraded to one or several blues which in turn can be upgraded to one or several epics), alpha/beta testing. Sure there is more, but these are just different examples of how the game itself was affected by putting resources elsewhere.

No matter how I look at it, I just cannot perceive how a game with so much more resources can fail to achieve something similar to an MMO which they could "borrow" from. People who are willing to compare this MMO to older MMO's must not forget this difference in resources AND the difference in time. SWOTR developers basically had 6 years (see link up top for source) to learn from other MMO's and failed to deliver.

Who says WoW is the "standard" for MMO's? WoW just stole their idea from all the other MMO's that were put out before it was. The only reason it was so big was due to the company that created it. If WoW was made by some second rate company i doubt it would have been as big as it was/is. I honestly want you to tell me one thing that WoW did that no other MMO did before it.

  8. I grouped with a new lvl 50 Sorcerer as my healer for a HM BT run. I have done many of these flawlessly with every kind of healer. Now as he just hit 50 the day before his healing was lacking. We wiped a couple times and needed to skip the Bonus boss as our DPS sorc had to heal me as our healer couldnt keep up with the heals. The Sorc DPS flamed. He wasnt happy that our "quick" run wasnt actually quick. He wasnt happy ofcourse but hey i didnt care.

I just gave the newly 50 Sorc healer some tips like upgrading your equipment so that you dont have any greens in any slot. At 50 this should be easy to do. Then told him that with the new PVP commendations you get from the bags gearing up from PvP is relatively easy.

The way i approach situations like this is we were all "newbies" once. Some guidance and direction can help them out. Not flaming and belittling them.

  9. You do realize that Rift is nothing more than WoW 2.0 right? And that many of the devs had experience working at Blizzard prior to going to Trion? Or that almost every single one of their game concepts was ripped, borrowed, or stolen from some other MMO and that nothing in the game was orginal? I played it. Was fun for a month.

This post is funny! Why? Because i was gonna say the same thing!

  10. Ya'll are acting like this is your first launch experience of an MMO.......this game is FAAAAAAAR more stable/playable/bug free than WoW was when it was released. problems raiding? LOL that game invented end game headaches due to "bad coding". Sure, its kind of rocky right now, but give them time to sort it out. It was at least 6 months before WoW started improving....and even then it was a long road. The forums were filled with the same BS as this...and even after each expansion it was more of the same...."geez blizz at least test your code bla bla bla".....its getting old people....STOOFOO

    Amen Yeti! Amen....

  11. Never before in an MMO have I felt it necessary to make a "I'm cancelling" post, but SWTOR has inspired me. Also, no you cannot "has your stuff" and yes, after this post I will just leave and no longer concern myself with these forums.

My feedback on the account cancellation screen:

You obviously didnt play WoW when it was released, It didnt have any End Game content. Also it was and still is one of t he worst MMO releases of all time. Id put it second behind FF14 which is now the worst. To expect so much from a game in its infant stages is really a fault of your own not Bioware.

Is there a lot of work still to do with this game? Ofcourse. It is unplayable in its current state? Heck NO.

Just this week i noticed quite a few nice changes in the most recent patch. I can actually notice them fixing stuff up! Quite amazing actually.

Anyways, im sure you wont be missed! Have fun with WoW!

It is my belief that anyone who is seriously complaining about the game not having MORE end game content have hardly played any MMO's. Especially upon release. If this is the case with you then you will be severely disappointed with any MMO you try out when it releases. Come back in a year when the game has a lot more content to keep you entertained while real MMO lovers play and enjoy the game for what it is now and what we know it will be in the future.

  12. For random heroic quests and such on planets i usually just say "Anyone up for "quest"".

I usually get responses. The issue i have found with this game is that i find people are afraid of inviting other people. If i see someone doing the same thing as me i will usually send them an invite even on soloable quests. Gets things done faster plus with the hand ins you get social points.

  13. I am a 50 PT. I have used several different specs as a PT i am currently using the Carolina Parakeet build as it is being called. The fact that your are saying Mercs are not as good as PT shows me that you have absolutely no grasp of how to play your merc.

Every class has their good points and their bad ones. Sorry that the merc doesnt have it all. They shouldnt get the survivability of a powertech as they arent supposed to be tanks. They are a DPS/Heal class.

Your argument that a Merc cant heal well unless specced into the bodyguard tree is just rediculous.

A powertech cant tank anything unless they are specced into the Shieldtech tree. Ive tried it. My survivability goes WAY down.

I could go on all day but i wont.

All i will say is LEARN TO PLAY.

  14. In that " a few days of playing" i could grind my pvp gear as well.

Nobody wants to waste his time. We all want output for what we do.

I am 38. And i only quested untill this level.. There are flashpoints which i have never been even. Like Mandolorian for example. I couldnt find any group for it.

And that "who" list doesnt work. People do not even look at it. Maybe they dont know.

I wrote my information to there and wandered in fleet like half an hour and i didnt get any invitation.

This server is nothing more than a ghost town.

Man throughout this whole thread all i read was QQ.

Bioware isnt going to do anything like merge servers or character transfers until they see what the population will be like once the free month of playing is over.

It is my one hope that all the trolls and people who want this or that within the first month of release get weeded out but i doubt it. Go back 8 years to the release of WoW. It was a mess. Compared that to SWTOR and SWTOR looks like a fully polished game. Jus saying.
