I would love to see more nice looking long hair options for both genders. (Regular human-style hair, as well as Zabrak and Cathar hairstyles.) Straight hair and curly hair.

I'd love to see a crossguard lightsaber like the one from the new Jedi: Survivor trailer.
-
It looks like the pinning was removed when the forums were restructured. Darn.
-
I agree, it would be nice if the super expensive platinum gear like the executioner's maw was made available indefinitely. Also agreed on adding more lightsabers with different movie/show sounds, and more regular shotos.
-
I'm all for them adding more good customization options again. I miss when they'd release those old packs. And twi'lek could use at least one, if not more. Other species/races could, too.

Accidentally losing the copy of the dye module in question, that I had on one of my characters made it painfully more apparent than it already was; it's not right that this dye module isn't obtainable at all anymore, when it used to be a cartel market item. And it was one of the best looking ones, IMO, along with other top ones that are still available.
Having the situation feel like you're being forced to re-buy a paid item... that isn't available, isn't fun when the item is what made the look for one of your characters, and now you can't play them anymore after the dye got lost from their armor due to a glitch.
It'd be really nice if I COULD re-buy the item, instead of being stuck with my character now having the coloration of a hamburger and I can't stand playing him due to it, despite desperately wanting to play that character.
I'm worried people will to try to shoot this down because it'd threaten the market value of 300m-1bil since it's been unavailable for so long. But it'd be great to actually be able to get the dye.

I really hope they're not pulling an NGE here. Especially with the contract for the game coming up.

Just realized while trying to outfit one of my characters... that it feels wrong that you can't use both versions of the Zakuulan Exile's blaster in etiher hand. You can only use the bayonetted version in the mainhand, and you can only use the non-bayonet version in the offhand. You can't dual wield one or the other, and it... doesn't fit some characters.
I'd love if I could give the character I've been outfitting again two bayonetted ones, since it matches her, but I can't. I wish I could.

BioWare included Bothans too. SWTOR lore history leading up to release, Battle of Bothawui (bothan homeworld). They've since been adding a few bothan NPCs, like the Republic officer involved in the Kuat flashpoint. So it might not go back as far, but it does have a similar degree of presence in it.
-
If the species doesn't have a human like face, won't be made playable so that means no Bothans playable species.
Cathar. Should they have not been playable by that same logic?
-
If one reason things feel slower on PTS is a lack of alacrity on characters used in testing, then that's a HUGE relief. Even if I'm still worried in not seeing it myself yet.
-
Bothans definitely work with current species limits, yes. Especially since there's been several NPCs of the species added now (not just the Kuat officer, but also that Republic level 70 mods vendor on the fleet, and they have a bit of variation), and are compatible with existing armor, with only possible helmet issues, like some other playable species.
Selonian would be awesome, but wouldn't work at all with how this game is set up. It'd be too much work to make work, and also not fit those criteria. (Even if it'd be cool.)

Well, as I said, you may find it interesting.
Yes, a choose-your-own-adventure allowing us to pick everything that happens rather than default factional based choices a la the catch-up mechanic used in Mass Effect would be fabulous, but in the absence of such a system one must choose to either live with the default choices, keep their character in a pre-Fallen Empire limbo and never do any newer content with them, or decide which of the default choices matter more and make the choice to play part of Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne.
Although I would love the option to make all of those choices for my character I highly doubt such a thing is going to come, and since I do not want to keep my character in a pre-FE state then I must choose to either live with the choices or choose which of those default choices are most important. In the end, there are really only five choices that have any impact on the story going forward.
- The choices that affect Koth's loyalty and, by extension, whether you forgive Koth in ET Ch 3 or not
- The choice regarding Senya in ET Ch 1
- The choice to romance one of the three or to resume an OC romance (very little impact on that part, so far)
- Which side you are forced to pick on Iokath
- A certain controversial choice at the end of the Nathema Fp
Those are the only choices that impact the story, which means that everything else can be headcanoned. For example, it is notated in their respective C&C files which one you chose between Jorgan and Kaliyo, but that choice makes no difference on the story going forward, is never mentioned again, and since the sole reference to it is on their C&C files it can be ignored and headcanoned.
The one choice that would force one to play a large portion of FE and ET is in regards to Vette and Torian. If one wished to resume the romance they would have to play several chapters of FE, and if one wanted to make the choice in ET Ch 8 they would have to play that far. If you are not romancing Vette or Torian then that choice in ET Ch 8 is rather irrelevant as neither plays a significant role in the story going forward (at least so far). Vette is completely absent whilst Torian has some lines on Mek-Sha (if with you) and is supposed to appear at the end of SoV for a brief exposition drop that is delivered by someone else if Torian is off reuniting with daddy (supposed because I did not get that appearance with a character that chose Torian, so my choice did not even matter).
I have a light-sided Sith that I am about to embark on my own choose-your-own-adventure. That character is not planned to romance Lana, so will skip most of Fallen Empire. I will play Eternal Throne Chapters 1-3 (starting Ch 4) so that I can choose with regards to Senya and Koth. Having them all present will allow me to headcanon the choices that character made throughout FE/ET as none of them will matter anyhow. I want that character to choose the Republic on Iokath, so will start Iokath. That choice should be locked in once that mission is completed as there is no way to reset it afterwards. Since the character is not romancing Lana and the choice at the end of Nathema is to forgive then I will skip ahead to JUS. If it all works then that light-sided Sith will have Senya, Arcann, and Koth, Vowrawn will be Emperor, and none of the rest of it will matter because it will never get mentioned again and the sole reference will be on some C&C files that I can ignore in favour of my headcanon.
Headcanon is best canon.
That's a really long post in response to me only saying I wish they'd let you pick broad lightside/darkside regardless of faction, not a "choose your own adventure" ME2/3 style thing. That's too much to ask for, even if I was agreeing with someone else that it'd be great if *possible*. I just wish they'd let us pick lightside/darkside flat across the board when using the skip option, regardless of faction, at least.
Also, you can keep headcanon, but it doesn't matter much if you have to face the consequences of the decisions you make (or the game makes for you) as you play later, since that's how this game is set up. Like something showing your lightside sith was an absolute monster until you get control of them, or you killed off or lost specific characters that you can't just imagine are still alive if the game recorded them as dead and keeps reminding you.
- The choices that affect Koth's loyalty and, by extension, whether you forgive Koth in ET Ch 3 or not

It's really cool to see the work that goes into this game, and the passion of the people working on it! Thank you!
It's great to see how you guys are still going, and still producing good game with great story, even after almost a decade, and still going despite all the changes to the game and staff over the years. It's also cool to see a glimpse into the systems designs that go into that.
-
Darn. Does that mean we'll be getting NGE 2.0? I'm worried if this game will survive. I've been really excited for the new expansion, especially the Combat Styles system. This tanked me from hype to worry for a game I love. Especially if they're not listening to people.
If they do this and it flops, it'll be *way* more work to try to change it after implementation than it would be to before. So they could be up the creek if it goes badly.

You two may find this thread on Reddit interesting. It details how you can play certain parts of Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne whilst skipping the rest. For example, using the information in this post it would be possible for a light sided Sith to skip ET and still keep Senya and Arcann.
That seemed useful initially, but it actually talks about how you still get default choices no matter what you do unless you use a really involved method, and at that point it's easier to just run the content. (And I'd be running KotFE and KotET normally anyway, since it's everything preceding that that wears me out to run over and over.) And it only covers events from KotFE and KotET, not prior to that, which doesn't help with the default choice faction lightside/darkside skip issue. So a solution here would still be necessary.

I don't tend to comment, but I searched for this and just wanted to say that this is the reason I keep opening the game and then quitting almost immediately every couple of months or so. I love my characters, everything about them and their stories has been carefully crafted and I have put so much time into this game, but I just can't bring myself to play through Rishi, KOTFE, KOTET etc. again, I just can't. I'm happy to pay for upgraded characters or skip sections, but I know that if I do this, after all the effort I've put in, it'll be so dishertening to lose control of such important aspects of the story; decisions will be made that won't be mine, and won't feel right for the characters I created. It would be so incredible to have the key decisions available for you to read and select, so that players can continue onto new content and have the experience they're after.
This is exactly why I haven't been able to face bringing all my 57 characters up to KotFE/KotET or further. I have to choose "do they get pigeonholed into lightside on Republic side even when those weird moral choices come up?" or "do they get turned into insane murder hobos if they're on Sith Empire side even if I play lightside?" and it kills me. So I can't play my characters unless I slog through all the story up to current. WEEKS of solid playthroughs every day, for ONE character. Don't get me wrong, I love the story, but having to go through all that... it's as exhausting and time consuming to go through multiple times as the main quest in FFXIV, which is also great. But I also can't do it for this exact same reason. It's too much to have to go through EVERYTHING for, every single time I want to bring a new character other than a SINGLE main up to current story.
At least giving us a "do you want to be pigeonholed into pure lightside or pure darkside, on EITHER Republic or Sith?" would be a GODSEND. I could actually get back to playing the game more, and you guys show I'm not the only one.

On a similar vein to above, what about a lightsaber with a similar kind of feel in hilt design to the Darksaber's hilt?
-
I've wished for YEARS for them to make Bothan playable. Especially with them adding NPCs of them more. I'd finally be able to make some of my characters that were supposed to be them since before the game launched be the correct species, instead of using cathar as a stand-in and keeping the helmet always on.

While decorating the strongholds I have, I remembered something that might help with some immersion factor. False doors.
Imagine being able to get decorations of doors you can place on walls in some structures, to indicate it's bigger than what you can access. This would definitely help the strongholds I've been working on, at least, as it would allow me to imply they have bigger, more fleshed out floor plans than what you can get into.
If this was a viable decoration suggestion, I'd also like to see multiple different designs of these "false doors".
(Additionally, while I'm thinking about it, wall mountable balconies of different sizes might be nice, too.)
-
A couple of my characters were supposed to be Kiffar. I'd love to be able to actually make them that, finally.
-
It could be a bit weird if you have two favourited jetpacks, or if you have one favourited but try to mount up using another, but the basic idea is sound. +1
Thank you! I'm not sure if it's the best method to make it work, but I hope this helps the team if they do implement something like this, and I'd love to see it happen.
-
I'd love to see this thread return to use again, as I think it can also help the devs, game, and community like my armor wishlist thread.
And to start it back off again, I'd love to see some railgun or slughthrower weapons still, if technically possible in the game.

After jetpack mounts started to be implemented in the game, I realized one thing I'd love to see, that I hope a lot of other people would also appreciate, is the ability to keep a jetpack displayed on a character even when the mount function isn't on.
With the characters I have who use jetpacks, if I use a jetpack mount instead of jetpacked armor, I'd love for the jetpacks to stay on them, instead of vanishing from their armor the moment they turn them off and only materializing when on.
Would it be possible to implement a "jetpack display function", say... if a player has a toggle option enable on the character sheet, and has the jetpack they wish to display favorited in their mounts list for that character?

I've been longing for them to make Bothan playable since before launch. I wish they'd do it when they've been adding more Bothan NPCs over the years. Two of my characters were supposed to be that, and I'd love to pay for recustomization to finally make them what they're supposed to be.
