  1. Why do you feel that RP needs a specific server? While PvE PvP have distinctions on why they need separation there really isn't a reason for an RP separation. You can RP on either instance of the servers. What makes RP servers unique is the community, not the instance you play on. If and when they merge servers you can still RP with anyone you feel you want. I understand being around non-rpers can ruin immersion but as far as I know, it gets ruined by people regardless of server separation or not. At least that was the case on WoW.

My first experience with MMO's that had specific RP servers was EQ1, and there was a specific rule set. While that might not be THE first instance of an Rp server the server type seems to have stuck around thru the genre. The main reason I think is as you already pointed out, and that is the type of people that usually play on an RP server.

  2. Didn't RP-ers get outfit designer and several strongholds and 1000s of decorations to put in them, and guild-strongholds and guild-ships as well as new CM outfits to buy, more appearance customisations, hairstyles and places to hang out in?

in the meantime, GSF ( for example) got this:

•The SI-04 Imperial Scout Paint Job now correctly unlocks in Galactic Starfighter. - 1st post in nearly TWO YEARS

PvP-ers only just got a (slightly buggy) new map and arena, progression raiders got nothing.....

IMHO: RP-ers, though they are an important part of the 'family' should be grateful for what they've received, while the rest of us are still fighting over scant crumbs under the table....

Lets see. Outfits.. right they take all the decent customizable armor out funneling people to the cartel market for those outfits. IE rl money. Deco for SH's and ships same thing anything decent is cartel market only. So we have to pay cash above and beyond even for EMOTE's but what do PVP'ers have to pay for exactly? Outside of the same sub as Rp'ers nothing at all. Please present your argument to someone more gullible.

  3. If people really and truly want rewards, whether good or bad or mediocre, just keep your sub going. It's not a hard concept, seriously. Use a credit card for automatic withdrawals. Buy 180 days at a time, use a calendar to remind you. Don't unsub cause 'oh well i'm not playing this month' just once you subscribe, even if you don't plan to play for a month or two, keep it going constantly. If you don't plan to ever come back ever, no matter what, fine unsub, but if you're going on vacation, someone died, you got a new kid, whatever and plan to come back, just keep it going.

If not, don't complain when you miss out on the actual good rewards they sometimes give out.

Not always the case, My sub went down for 2 days over a weekend because of a bank error, still screwed out of the end HK mission though.

  4. While I would love for this to happen, I don't think it ever will. Much like the little icons above our heads, they are a visual indicator to the class of character. Adaptive armour means even light armour wearing inquisitors can look like full heavy armour, half robot bounty hunters... the weapons are the indicator (well, and the icons).

Why does it matter if there is a visual indication of our class or not? I love this idea as well, it always irked me that agents couldn't use a blaster even though a good many cut scenes show us using one.

  5. It is totally unacceptable, but it is a fact of MMOs. Those types of players have always existed and always will. So what can you do to mitigate the toxicity? Use /ignore. When enough other players ignore the offending player for their offensive behavior they will no longer be able to group.

And there is a system already in place for extreme harassment. You just need PROOF like screenshots of chat.

In EQ1 this was called blacklisting, it did wonders in curbing the more obnoxious players. However since the arrival of the entitled WoW crowd those types have multiplied horrendously.

  6. Fortunately the opinions of you and your ilk are irrelevant on what is or isn't important in this game.

PVP belongs to everyone as one of the modes of the game. Doesn't matter whether you personally like PVP or participate in it or not. So your options including sucking it up or playing a PVE-only game instead.

The amount of insular projecting in this forum is mind-boggling.

Obviously you are mistaken judging by the amount of effort the dev's spend on PVP, seems to me the majority of players prefer PVE and that is what the dev's are focusing on.

  7. I really miss the orange gear from flashpoints, some really nice designs, heck some of my alts still wear it on occasion. Replacing loot with the same blue crates you get via weekly heroics pre 61 seems like a horrible decision. And in many cases gives people no incentive to run the flashpoints when they can just get the same gear running thru Korriban.
  8. Hard to answer, with the influx of people from PVP servers to Ebon hawk due to population, most RP'ers have moved RP to Strongholds and guild ships. The RP that is out in the open usually tends to be someone trying to get cybz.. I guess your best bet would be to create a char on each and keep an ear to general for RP guilds with a premise that you are interested in.
