  1. Give it to either Ridley Scott or Peter Jackson. Let them remake RotJ (ep 6) and the prequels.

Not Ridley Scott. He's obsesses over details and authenticity too much for a Star Wars movie. Not that that is a bad thing, it's very good for his kind of film making, but not for a Star Wars movie.

Peter Jackson would be perfect though... maybe a joint project alongside Neill Blomkamp :D

  2. I'm going to agree on Sentinels... not all of them are bad, but on average they seem attract the most immature players. Was just in a group with one on my JK Guardian. We entered the group phase and immediately he says "Guardian, tank. TANK GO.". Too bad I was dps specc. And one thing I hate is when people address you by your class and not your name.
  3. Errrmmm... OP *** are you talking about? What class are you playing? I've played a Sith Assassin and an Operative and both of their stealth abilities are permanent until cancelled or attack and have a very small cool down.
  4. Why does everyone keep arguing that Lucas deliberately cast all the Imperials with British accents in the movies? There was an even mix of accents between the two sides. I watched all the movies after Christmas having got them on blu-ray and felt weird having heard all the American accents being sported by many of the Imperials having just played SWTOR.

This Imperial = British and Republic = Americans formula has only just begun with SWTOR. Even in KOTOR, the accents were mixed up.

  5. Actually, simple robes is not Jedi either, true story, yet 99% of the Jedi fanbase seem to think otherwise. The outfit was just the ways of Obi-Wan, you know, hiding out on Tatooine, poor, keeping a low profile. Luke never wore such "Jedi" outfits except for a black cloak when he returned to Tatooine in Return of the Jedi. This is all perfectly explained by RLM (amongst others) in their review of Star Wars and the prequel trilogy, mentioning how such clothing would be practical on Tatooine (sand storms etc.) yet 100% unpractical elsewhere, say, Hoth or Coruscant.

Ever asked yourself why members of the the Jedi Council, who reside in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, wear simple robes? Coruscant being the capital city of the Old Republic, a modern planet filled with technology and all kinds of fancy clothing. No? Maybe you should.

Lucas even got that part wrong, lol.

Because humility is a cornerstone of Jedi life. They wear simple robes for much the same reason that religious monks wear simple robes.

And no. Lucas is never wrong with a story he created. Star Wars is what he makes of it. Not some self proscribed film critic.

  6. So I really, really want a moddable set of Robes. The traditional kind, exactly like the modded chest pieces that drop from Black Talon. Trust me, I've been soloing Black Talon quite a lot lately, but all that drops is bloody Black Talon Juggernaut gloves.

Anyone know any other way of getting a decent set of moddable robes? Medium or Heavy is fine.

  7. Is it me or is Esseles/Black Talon loot bugged? Because the only clothing that seems to drop nowadays is gloves.

Orange chest pieces used to drop every run, yet every time I've ran there on a new character in the past few weeks, I've only had gloves drop with the exception of the bosses that drop weapons and offhands. I've been soloing BT on my juggernaut a while now because I want the orange Robe armour and every single time, Black Talon Juggernaut Gloves drop.

  8. The weak character creation tool is far from the greatest flaw of the game, yes. It's still a weak character creation tool. Seriously, "it could be worse" is not a good defense of things that are bad.

I was not implying that it should not be improved. Yes it could use improvements and I will not refute that. My rebuttals were aimed with the OP in mind. He is making the CC tool out to be a lot worse than what it is. That is my point.

That's beside the point, anyway. You asked what's so terrible about it compared to other MMOs. Then discounted examples for no other reason than they featured superior tools. What's so terrible about it? How about every single race uses the same combat animations, for starters? Or that several customization options are linked at the hip and can't be separated (complexions and cosmetics are filled with these)? Or that there isn't a single long hair option for males or females?

For starters, the combat animations are differentiated between classes. And that is an aspect of the game that Bioware should be highly commended for. A Jedi Sentinel has different melee animations to a Jedi Guardian, as do they have different animations to their mirror classes on the Imperial side. And I would have thought that using different animations for each class, rather than race, is a much more suitable endeavour. So that is quite a bone criticism.

I won't defend the complexions. I myself was quite irritated that stubble could only be used on one complexion preset.

The tool is bad now, it would have been bad one year ago, three years ago, or five years ago. Even comparing it to WoW, WoW needs to be given credit for each of its races (and sexes) having a different animation for its attacking and casting animations.

I think that is a rather absurd comparison given that even with the different races that WoW had, each race was extremely lacking in customisation options. The Human race alone in TOR has far more variations than any 3 races in WoW put together. Your point on combat animations has also been addressed above.

  9. You are missing the point mate, stealthers are designed to fight that way, that is their entire perp for being in the game. To harass an exploit the enemy's weaknesses

So what your trying to say is that Operatives are balanced so they can defeat an enemy when he is at 20% health? ....

Your raising such a useless point in terms of the context in any case. Regardless of class design and balance, the person I was replying to was stating that Republic players play dirty and Imperial do not. I was stating that Imperials are very much the same. THAT is my point.

    Jesus H bloody Christ.

  10. Actually the stealther was playing "exactly" how he should be. Fighting on his terms, an he did exactly same as I would have. Except I would have waited for you to get busy every time. Only a fool goes /peace to a red.

Well that was exactly my point. That Imperial players lack decency and honour as well.

  11. Tomb of Freedon Nad. I rerolled on that server a few weeks ago from my dead server and boy are there no regrets! :D

On Sunday during peak time, we had 290 people in fleet.

Your looking at 110-150 in Coruscant at peak time and 80+ in Tython with slightly less in Ord Mantell.

Imperial population is also on par with Republic so Tomb of Freedon Nad is a very very well balanced server. The community is very PvP oriented.
