  1. Heres the prob i dont see $10 worth or even 20$ worth of content for rothc. There not saying much at all about it then sgr overselliing. I tried that new raid its a pos in a imp/rep war were once again fighting with the hutts and 3rd parties b/c lazy incompetent devs dont realize this is about a large war going and they dont want to have to make 2 different raids when they can make 1 and clone it with slight changes.

think of it this way...in most other games you buy an expansion there are 5-10 new level, a half dozen zones to level in ()RIFT being an exception that tripled ther games landmass, although it is only for lvl 50+ players), a couple of new abilities and MAYBE a new class. there is new top level dungeons/raid to start, with. you generally pay $50+.

here, its 5 levels, one ability with some other changes, a new zone to level in (hopefully with enough content so we dont have to rely on repeating new Makeb dailies to level), a new raid, and some rehashed dungeons as HM's, for $10 dollars. (i sub to any game i play if the option is there, it relieves me of any potential hassles)

what you're getting per dollar spent isnt that far off a normal expansion. whether you think what they are giving is any good - or is 'worthy' of being called an exapnsion - is your own affair.

  2. is the Superheated Rail changed, and does it still stack with the new Puncture?

havent read that it doesnt still stack, so i assume it does.

also after checking out the new gear on PTS, alacrity on everything, even dps gear....

    early ideas?

    stack it for?

ignore it, just 'let it happen' if its there?

avoid it in favor of other stats, as the decreased gcd may cause heat issues?

  3. There is something very wrong with these dummies. I, as a Sawbones Scoundrel very often toss white damage on bosses when I don't need to heal. I don't track the numbers closely, but the white numbers flying off the dummy feel at least 20% less than those that fly off of any op boss, including those in Explosive Conflict..

could be the lack of buffs on you, and debuffs on the boss, which dont exist when attacking the training dummy.

  4. I think I am going to add an E to the end of it.

NORSE = No Rail Shot Excellence

It will kind of toes the line of corny names, and sticking with the easy to understand fact of No RS Builds. The truth is even if someone asks you and you say oh I use the No RS build. They will go huh, No RS what does that mean.

It will be really confusing for Vanguards who go Wait does that Mean i am running a NOHIBE build haha!

NO Rail Shots Ever is better imho

call it the NORSEman spec, in honor of this great film

  5. im only slightly less durable in dps pve gear than tank specced and pvp gear (that is, when blowing cooldowns)

fact is without blowing cooldowns and/or someone spamming heals on you, you'll drop nearly as fast as anyone else if focused. one on one might last longer.

if you want to guard and stand next to your healer all the time though, its great.

  6. The title of this thread is a Joke.

SWTOR will have to merge servers into about 10 decently populated servers soon.

server went from 130+ on fleet to 80-90 the last week, roughly coinciding to when 3 month subs ran out.

it seems unlikely that near a third of the server decide to reroll all at once.

idk about only 10 servers, but transfers/mergers will be here soon, that is if this arrogant group can admit its needed.

  7. I hate to be a buzzkill, but this change (aka nerf) does make sense from a game mechanics perspective. I hope that other hybrid builds, such as the sorc healing/dps builds, also get adjusted so that they can't continue to effectively run a double spec.

does make you wonder how they didnt forsee the possibility during the years of development time.

as always, players are far more creative than devs

  8. Thanks for the response!

I'm not sure I'd call 15% increased chance "significant" considering the new 6s CD....

And they didn't buff AP to make it viable....

I'll keep the whining, kicking, and screaming to myself though.

    *sigh*

looks like the improvement to AP is to make a railshot crit as close to guaranteed as possible (it SHOULD proc if it becomes available at any time, and you just have to wait for the 6 sec cooldown to use), by making the proc work off of dots. so 21 AP, 18 pyro, will be the new 'parakeet', while using CGC because they apparently really dont want tank/dps hybrids. the 6 sec cooldown on the proc is an attempt to balance it.

but yeah on tis own AP still doesnt have a lot going for it.

  9.

As an fyi, it gets worse after the 100k hit. I've had 242k and 668k respec fees.

thats very odd, ive respecced numerous times when the cost was 99k, and never had it go beyond that number. in fact im pretty sure thats the cap.

  10. So in a nut shell the OP is saying that the less you play the agme the better it is.

And your suppose to cheer about that.

    Hmmmmm,

I played EQ every waking free hour I had for years and never got bored

I played DAoC for years with out getting bored

I played Neverwinter Nights on AOL for years with out getting bored

How is it I played these games for hours on end, endlessly, constantly, and never got bored and always felt challenged and attatched to my character.

In TOR, I have no attatchment to my characters as I havent had to do anything special, exciting, unique.

Sorry but I dont buy the "This games rocks because you dont have to play it" theory.

MMORPGs by definition should require you to play them.

All your WOWsters like to blah blah blah about how a MMORPG isnt a substitute life. Well actually if its well made and engrossing, thats EXACTLY what it is.

What you all want are single player RPGs.

Those are single storyline, start to finish games.

MMORPGs are suppose to be virtual settings where you go to escape the real world for hours and hours and hours at a time.

Once again the WOW generation and after prove they just dont grasp what MMORPGs are suppose to be at their very core design.

i agree with your general sentiment, but you are off base at the end. 'WoWers' would love nothing more than sink hours on end into a game. its the anti WoW, anti raid, anti "hardcore", tiered gear, etc., that are averse to any sort of time commitment. now, many people have come from wow and want a break from the 'hardcore' play, but thats a bit of a different discussion.

  11. I find it hard to believe that you have that much stuff that is 'GTN worthy'.

Selling whites and greens, and even a lot of blues, is just worthless.

    Vendor it.

not the point, really. if he wants to put vendor trash on th GTN thats his business.

and its actually easy to get beyond 50 items, if you try to sell single consumables, craft materials, mods that you buy from commendations, etc.
