  1. Cancelled subscriptions here for the following reasons:

-My SO has had consistent graphics issues with this game since launch with no end in sight.

-Gameplay is not challenging at all. I had 5k CR at level 5 and it grew exponentially from there. I finished my first act at level 30 which shouldn't have been possible given the supposed difficulty of the quest. Engage me and make me work for something so I feel a sense of accomplishment.

-Auction house limits are WAY too strict. If I want to list 200, 1000, 2000 auctions a day, I should be able to do so without any interference from Bioware as long as I stay within the ToS. Playing the AH is my favorite in-game pastime so this was a HUGE downer for me.

-No macros/addon/combat log support. Seriously? You expect me, as a raid or guild leader, to bring 8 or 16 people into an Op without any way to judge who deserves to be there and who does not? I realize these things are now 'on the way' but it took you over a month to let us know that. This game should have NEVER launched without a combat log. Period.

-FFS don't babysit me. I pay my $15/month like everyone else and if *I* decide that I want to be 'elitist' by limiting my groups to capable people, or play the AH, I should be able to do so (again, as long as I stay within the ToS). The beauty of MMOs is that they are living, breathing entities with living, breathing groups, economies and personalities. Stop interfering.

-Your patches break more than they fix. And don't even get me started on the Action Bar fiasco.

-Your Customer Service is ATROCIOUS. I can't emphasize this enough and this issue alone is enough to make me cancel as I refuse to support a game that doesn't support it's customers.

-The disconnect and lack of communication between the SWTOR Community Team and the player base is even worse than the Customer Service. Your player base has been screaming for answers for over a month now and it seems that the Community Team will continue to stick their heads in the sand and hope we all go away. Well, apparently WE ARE.

-In your eagerness to avoid comparisons to WoW, you've forgotten that Blizzard has standardized some MMO expectations that you should NOT have avoided. It seems that your developers have done things simply for the sake of being different from WoW. Instead of an LFD feature that ports us to flashpoints automatically, you give us...what? SIX !@#$%^& loading screens to get through in order to get to a FP? Are you serious?

This game held so much promise. I suspect that if the Community Team had come out of their ivory tower from the very beginning and engaged the community, you wouldn't have the mass exodus that you are now facing. The majority of us knew we were headed into a barebones MMO that was just getting started...what we didn't count on was the complete lack of concern and communication from people who are EMPLOYED for the sole purpose of engaging the community and soliciting feedback.

You say you're listening, Bioware, but you severely underestimate the power of communication and owning up to the deficiencies in your launch of the biggest game title in 10 years.

  2. Hello

I have been searching for a way to delete a guild but I havent been able to find one. It dosent work by typing /gquit because im the guildleader. Im the only member btw. Does anybody know where to go, to delete a guild?

    Thanks:rolleyes:

    Have you tried /gdisband ?

  3. I never played WOW so I'm curious to know what there was to do when your character reached level cap.

Just browsing the forums and stuff, I get the sense that when you reached your max level is when the game really started. For the most part I stick to single players games so when the story is over, the game is finished for me unless I really enjoyed it and pay for some DLC down the road.

I am really enjoying the game and have played four classes to around 40. I loved IA so much I decided to hold off on my lvl 36 OP and see how the sniper plays. So back to my question. WOW being Theme Park like SWTOR, (again thats just what I am picking up) What was there to do besides wait for the next expansion? Besides rerolling alts and hacking out dungeons you've done multiple times before?

Just on a side note I read you could fish in WOW. This makes me wonder if you could just wander off and spend time just fishing, looking for secret or hidden areas, chatting with different people and that kind of social stuff. In SWTOR its seems since this is so about your personal story, you miss out on a lot of social opportunitys besides heroic and flashpoints.

    Thanks

WoW is two games in one really. You've got the leveling/dungeon grind but then you've got the level cap game, where you'll spend the majority of your time. If you're in a good guild on a good realm, you will never lack for things to do. Personal/Guild Achievements, PVP/Arenas, Raiding, crafting, AH gambling...pretty much a lot of stuff. Some people fall into the dungeon/raid grind but if you're interests are wider than that, you'll find plenty to keep you busy.

As for the fishing that you're interested in, yes it's an excellent pasttime for a player who likes unstructured wandering and exploring (not to mention the achievements that go along with it).

WoW is NOT a utopia though. Depending on what your interests are and how fast you burn through them, you could end up bored while waiting for a new content patch or expansion. If you're not careful, you could end up on a terrible realm and stuck in a guild that doesn't really match your goals or personality. But like ANY multiplayer game...YOU are the master of your destiny...not the game company. It's what YOU make of it.

  4. Wow. You people are just INCAPABLE of adapting, aren't you? I have zero problems; you are crippled by the slight adjustment tot he level of light coming off of your buttons. Sheesh.

You likely have zero problems because you aren't vigilant in your gameplay by making sure you take advantage of procs and cooldowns. Those of us that ARE vigilant find the UI changes to be hindering our gameplay.

  5. I think many of you here are misunderstanding the purpose of this summit (or perhaps *I* am).

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the purpose of this guild summit to provide an open dialogue between guild leaders and developers regarding issues that affect GUILDS and not overall gameplay?

If that's the case, those of you who choose to remain guildless won't have much to contribute to this particular conversation.

  6. First the bug, then the feedback (ie: Opinion).

Bug: When jumping from pipe to pipe, there has to be some sort of bug or another. You can shuffle back and forth a bit, no problem, but if you try jumping at any point in that shuffle you often wind up just falling off. I've seen it on Nar Shaddaa and Tatooine while trying to grab datacrons--back and forth? No big deal. Forward a tiny bit and spacebar? Fall down start over. It has got to be a bug.

Opinion/feedback: I love exploration and think the datacrons are an excellent way of rewarding that. They aren't game-breaking, but they give you a bit of an advantage and something to do. They should by no means be easy to get (Well, okay, the starting planet ones should be easy on the "First Hit Is Free, Kid" principle.) and the puzzle-solving aspect of them is a lot of fun. But jumping from pipe to pipe across the entire planet isn't a puzzle: it's Prince of Persia. It's the kind of "We can't think of a puzzle right now, so let's just put six jumps together."

(And for the record because I know someone is going to say it, yes, I've turned off sprint. I've turned it off, I've turned it on, I've toggled walk instead of run, I've done things while mounted and dismounted. The responsiveness for Jump is such that using it will often cause you to simply fall off the pipe rather than actually jump. If anything, you should have trouble landing on the next one, not jumping off the first one.)

The jump mechanics took a bit of getting used to for me as well. I had to learn to jump BEFORE moving forward.

Another piece of advice that I'll add along with stuff others have posted is to also take all of your equipment off when going for datacrons. Certain pieces of gear seem to interact negatively with environmental collision detection (my robes prevented me from getting a datacron in Coruscant last week...once I removed them, I was able to continue normally). Anyways, it's worth a shot.

  7.

While I understand everyone's opinions here, apparently we're stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one. Previously (for the Fan Site Summits) we invited a select group; we got complaints that it should have been open to others even if they paid for themselves. In this case we invite a select group and in addition open up attendance to anyone who wishes to apply, and some are frustrated that we're asking people to attend at their own expense. Like I said, we understand people's reactions, but we won't be able to please everyone.

Since this event will be spread over 2-3 days, I would like to suggest that you provide an online Q&A event that those of us unlucky enough to not be chosen may participate in. Live streaming, Google+ hangout...hell, even a Reddit AMA would be welcome.

If it goes well, perhaps you could think about making it a quarterly event (the online event...not summit).

  8. I agree that this is a PR 'stunt', but I don't necessarily view that as a bad thing. They're a business and I expect these types of promotions.

What kind of bothers me is that it sounds like the first set of guilds were cherry-picked using an unknown and unannounced set of criteria. This leaves Bioware open to some pretty bothersome accusations of choosing only those guild leaders that will represent them WELL instead of representing them OBJECTIVELY.

A much better approach would have been to openly invite all guilds to apply and then pick randomly.

  9. This is a 'promising' idea on Bioware's part ( I say 'promising' because as it stands right now, it feels as though the Guild feature was added as a last minute chat convenience).

Guilds SHOULD be the cornerstone of any MMO. A good guild keeps it's members engaged and active in the game like no other feature can. Guilds and the personal relationships developed therein keep people subscribed in between content and major raid patches. The current state of guilds in SWTOR isn't good IMO and many of the features that are 'upcoming' should have been implemented BEFORE launch.

Things that need to change NOW:

-Give us back the Guild Hall for discussion of guild and op leadership issues.

-Give us an ENGAGED and KNOWLEDGEABLE contact on (or near) the dev team that will advocate on our behalf in regards to guild features. Stephen Reid is in an excellent position to do this and the community trusts him but we'll happily accept anyone who shows an honest interest in helping us help our members.

-Give us the bare minimum of guild features NOW. The guild UI is terrible and SERIOUSLY?? No Invite button? I use the /ginvite command but many guild leaders are unfamiliar with the 'typical' guild commands.

-Also, at the very least, we need an easy way to see when people last logged in. I (and many other guild leaders) don't keep people who are inactive for more than a certain number of days.

Most of us will happily wait for things like guild ships and in-game recruiting features, but guild banks should be implemented sooner rather than later. There are 'quality of life' features that are standard in almost all MMOs and storage is one of those things that should have been in place at launch.

The summit is a good step in the right direction. I sincerely hope that many good things come from this. Bioware, like any MMO developer, needs to see that the social connections made within the game are as equally important as new content in keeping people subscribed over the long term.

  10. I don't wanna be a jerk but most people are bored with the game due to it being to easy. If your having this much trouble you should honestly just move on. For whatever reason your skillset just doesn't work with this game.

My alt is a 41 Sroc healer and honestly I have been pushing my limits by doing 4 man quests solo. Its the only thing that I find a challenge. Sadly if they made the game hard most people would just complain about that instead.

    Agree 100% with this.

I completed my Act 1 storyline at level 30 and it was the first challenge I found in this game. The only time I can find a real honest-to-goodness challenge is by doing red quests...everything at my level is too easy.

  11. Dude STOP.

    That's wrong. bad wong.

SWTOR is very CPU dependant. Not only did Tom's hardware do a clear article on it.

I went from a Core 2 Duo 2.4 to an i5 2500k and my average FPS went from about 17 to 60 with the same GTX 460 on normal playing.

And if you don't buy a dell you can easily own this game for about $700.

At the risk of jinxing myself, I've got a pretty low-end machine and it's performance is acceptable while playing SWTOR. The only really noticeable issue I have is loading into the Fleet during peak times. My FPS is around 60 everywhere but will dip to 30fps if I try to do anything at the Fleet after 6pm. PVP is consistently 60-80FPS so no issues there either.

No, I'm not able to set all my graphics to High but it sounds like a ton of other people with way better machines than I have can't set them to High either lol. Honestly, I can't imagine why my machine's performance is so good compared to the issues that others are dealing with but I hope Bioware gets these things taken care of. It's unfair for such large numbers of people to be unable to enjoy this game.

  12. You can't control the behavior of others, only your own.

There are plenty of sites out there that will give you the strategy for each boss fight. Your time is better spent perusing boss fights to familiarize yourself with the strategy than it is posting on the forums about behaviors you can't change.

  13. I'm not a huge fan of platforming in an MMO, but with that said, I have ALL of the datacrons (aside from the +10 to all stats one on the fleet) and I didn't experience any lag in jumping.

The only frustration I had whilst collecting the datacrons was the typical mechanics involved in jumping in MMO's (bad clipping etc).

Tips for jumping when finding datacrons:

    • Make sure you have decent fps (30+). Use Ctrl+Shift+F to see your current Fps. Performance issues when trying to time a jump can be a killer (quite literally).
    • Disabling Sprint can give you more control when timing your jump.
    • Not everywhere is a good place to use your speeder to do the jumping.
    • Set your zoom out distance to max, so you can look at the jump from different angles and perfect your positioning (sometimes looking vertically over your char helps).

Just to add a little to this:

    • *Dismiss your companion. They all have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and it's nice to remove that distraction.
*Get nekkid :) I spent 45 minutes trying to jump onto some wall mounted object to get the Black Sun Territory datacron last night. I could see that I was jumping high enough but the clipping on the wall object was preventing me from landing correctly. I removed all my clothing (and that of my character's:p) and VOILA! Landed on the object first try, so I can only assume that the clipping of the object combined with the clipping of my clothing were repelling each other.

Datacrons are not a necessity. If you don't enjoy Bioware's implementation, don't participate in that activity. Personally, I have to be in a certain mood to go after them. I got the two on my starting world and then didn't bother again until last night. I hit level 30, got my legacy name and decided that now was a good time to go back and get a dozen of the ones I've missed. I'll probably finish catching up today and then won't touch them again til later.

The small increase in stats isn't gamebreaking, so you shouldn't feel like you're missing out on something if you hate the datacron mini-game.

  14. Why isn't every server getting their own forum again?

It seems stupid that you are making people preface their topics with the server name when you could completely bypass that just by categorizing all threads of a particular server into its own forum! It's not like I care what events are happening on Hedarr Soongh when all my characters are on Helm of Graush just because it is also a PVP server that begins with the letter 'H'.

    Needlessly complicated.

    Agreed.

I wish this company would stop 'doing things differently than other MMOs' simply for the sake of doing things differently from other MMOs.

Forum structure should always be logical and there are certain best practices that should be followed to make YOUR lives easier. It's needlessly complicated to do anything other than:

    Top Level

    --Server Forums

----Sort by Type of Server (PVP/PVE/RP/RP-PVE)

    ------Individual Server list

You shouldn't depend on the community to sort their posts...you should make it as easy as possible for them to figure out where their posts should go.
