  1. Most people don't have that luxury, and because of that, I want the class to be balanced. I don't think it's fair that I see Operatives who are telling me that they can't get into raids because people are saying "rDPS only", "Sorry we're looking for a Sniper", "no we don't want OPs".

That's not fair to them, and that's not happening because "those mean old hardcores are discriminating", it's happening because people just want to clear the content on a Friday night, they don't want to sit there wiping for an hour trying to carry some class, especially if they themselves are casual players who don't have "OMG LEET" DPS and can't really afford to carry people.

As far as your threat, how low and rude of you. I'm championing that Operatives should be balanced so that raid leaders want to bring them to raids. I deserve some respect for wanting my fellow Operatives to *get to enjoy the toon they worked hard to level*. You apparently are okay with them being imbalanced. Do you even have an Opertiave? You think it's okay for people to be thought of as the worst PVE DPS? You think that's a a healthy state for the game to be in?

I deserve some praise and thanks for refusing to back down on this issue until the class is fixed.

I commend you sir. I for one would not expect my raid group to take me if I was a dps specced operative. The effort to reward ratio of an operative is way out of balance. I love that the class has a high learning curve and that needs to stay the same. The biggest thing that operatives hate is that if 2 equally geared/skilled players put out the same effort every other class in game will out perform the operative. Nothing about that is good, you don't feel rewarded for mastering a slightly more challenging class then the guy next to you who smashes his face on his keyboard and can do the same damage with more utility. I think you missed that OP.

  2. I like the new ship ideas but I'm pretty (not 100% if I read something) sure the devs said its to hard to do in the near future because your ship is part of the story so much.

Something I would love them do, it's more of an improvement then an addition, but add a reason for all classes to want custom color crystals. Healing OPs and Mercs know what I mean. Make the guns glow the color of the crystal or something so we can feel like our color crystal matters as much as light saber wielders.

Also like the idea of side quests to improve weapons. Would love to say make it endgame and it be a fun journey to put a scope on my gun for an extra 10 stats. Maybe make it 2 quests, 1 that puts the scope slot on your gun and the other to actually acquire the scope with the stats.

  3. Would that mean people who are not part of a guild and have no intention to join one are left by the wayside in the advancement of the game?

Certainly looking that way, for the time being at least.

You don't have to be in a guild to read the answers to the questions...

This week is a bit short on answers, but we’ll definitely make up for it with the upcoming Guild Summit, which is going to be packed full of information! So much, in fact, that we’re going to postpone our next Community Q&A blog until March 16th in order to allow for all of the new information to sink in.

So to answer your question, no you don't have to be part of a guild to learn about this.

  4. I leveled as heals so i used kaliyo until i got scorpio, that being said I married kaliyo then divorced her to marry ensign. Kaliyo I just never felt like I could trust her same with scorpio. I think story wise Vectors is amazing he has my pick for favorite story from my companions but Scorpio is a beast of a tank for utility I would choose her and ensign is just adorable so shes my choice for romance. Overall its most likely Scorpio I enjoyed her story and she was great for leveling.
  5. I see no reason why we should simply be shoved to the back of the bus.

It's not that the SGRA community is getting/should be shoved to the back of the bus it is just that the game wasn't released with SGRA so why would BW drop everything they are doing to implement something "NEW" into the game before fixing things that where already in game or planned to be in game since launch if not slightly sooner. I just think the SGRA community is overlooking what they already got which is confirmation that BW agrees and is working on a way to get it into the game. Stop begging for more and be happy that they are listening. Also I think in the grand scheme of things is that if BW really wants "relationships" to be a part of the game they would have made them a little more extensive then just 2 cut scenes with your toon kissing your companion and then 3 companion gifts in the mail when you get married. The SGRA community should stop expecting to be moved to the front of the "bus" when in all honesty they need to wait their turn like all the other "new content" communities.

  6. Just a few things to add.

    1) Here's a thought, the guild summit is coming up. They said they will answer more questions there so if I am BW I am going to save the big question answers for that (eg. SGRA, Legacy to name a few).

    2) The whole crit crafted gear being the best is a possibility BUT how do we know teir gear won't have augment slots already? I hardly think BW is going to pay artists to design end game tier gear just to make it inferior to crit crafted gear that's been in the game already.

    3) I'm not for or against SGRA not big on roleplaying but that doesn't mean they shouldn't put it in the game. All you SGRA fans can not really want SGRA before they fix all the bugs and other things that have been planned for game since launch (legacy as one example). As much as you hate to admit SGRA wasn't planned for at launch. You should be happy they have listened enough to consider it, now sit back and let them work you will get the information as soon as they have made significant progress.

Just my two cents I'm personally happy with the Q&A every week, yes they don't always answer the "hot topics" but at least they show they are answering some of our questions. Be thankful they even acknowledge the community weekly unlike previous mmos.

  7. I've played a facerolling Sorc and it was....neat. But it did feel too easy. I enjoy the challenge of having to work for my stats (primarily speaking PvP). I've seen a lot of comments about Ops not excelling and other classes being able to do so much better, but I'm really at a loss to find one instance, in my experience, that this rings true.

Is 50 so much different? Specifically, what challenges do Ops face during End-Game content (PvP and PvE)?

First off let me say nothing wrong with the question, leveling up is slightly more balanced then end game. That being said, the main instance is that end game if you took an equally geared/skilled sorc and compared it to an equally geared/skilled operative the op would get blown away. But like Hamchuck said if your group is good and can trust you, then end game pve will be fine. PvP can raise some questions though the biggest is that in my experience lvl 50s start interrupting more often and DS cant be used as a bait cast anymore, and an interrupted kolto injection is a huge blow to healing for the time its locked out. But I wouldn't give up with the OP or anything I have broken 500k heals many times in PvP (more then most sorcs I have seen) and my raid group loves having me as heals. So more or less what I was trying to say is that we don't feel that we can't hang with other heals end game we just have to work 2-3 times as hard to keep up and have 2-3 times less utility.

  8. I don't tend to disagree that all healers are viable, I just don't think they realize an operative has to work his *** off where a sorc can day dream and pull the same numbers. I can clear every 4man hm on my op but have to work a hell of a lot harder then a sorc. That being said I have a sliver of hope that they make some good changes to the operative.
  9. I'm mostly a healing OP but I've messed around with concealment as well.

The biggest thing the class needs overall is a gap closer, either a sprint or a grapple that pulls you to a enemy or friendly target.

    As for healing:

RN needs to be a smart heal and have its healing increased by 20-30%.

Either infusion needs its TA requirement removed or we need another cast heal so interrupts don't hurt us so much in pvp.

DS needs to either heal for more or have its channel time reduced to like 1.5secs.

Shield probe needs to be usable on targets and would be nice to know how much damage it absorbs.

    Concealment:

Hidden strike damage needs to be buffed back to original or out of stealth damage needs a 20% buff.

Acid Blade should be back to 50% armor pen if the out of stealth damage isn't buffed.

  10. The problem is not Sorceres though, just the incredibly limited healing of Operatives.

I agree its not sorcs or mercs that are necessarily the problem. But if they arent gonna give ops more utility/heals then those classes need to be nerfed. I personally would rather then give the ops more utility/heals then nerf the other classes.

  11. You could respec conceal and go flatten a sorc the same sorc over and over and over again. Might make you feel better. I like to do things like drop a spare probe on them to eat their shield and send a DOT their way.

If a game is causing you stress you're taking it way to seriously. Easy for me to say I like to get isolated witha few DPS and keep them up against superior numbers. Total heal irrelevant doing the dance of targetted CC, stripping the adds while defeating superior numbers = win.

I like it when that DPS jumps to me and I go Poof meanwhile the DPS has been eating their backsides to which they turn around and Ohh I'm healing again.

We definitely don't have the pure mob utility of a sorc but you can have alot of fun healing with an operative.

Yea I love healing on my op I just get frustrated that anyone can pick up a sorc and push better numbers and help the team more without a real challenge. And as for dps conceal requires so much work not sure how many times ive gone after a sorc and after the stun is over they knock you back then sprint away good luck catching up.

  12. join the club :0 my sorc alt is 21 now

dunno if i will main it or not once i hit 50, we'll see how things go (i'd rather stay operative but yeah ...)

it's good to try something new

Yea I'm messing around with a marauder lvl 26 atm. I cant bring myself to not play my op I love the play style, just have cut back on the pvp alot. It's to frustrating now, but I haven't had much problem with pve so I'm going to continue with that. I want to heal in pvp but I refuse to join the masses and play a sorc and I'm not a fan of how bh heals work.

  13. you got "on the fly" HoTs! he has no mobile healing. But have seen sorcs single heal for over 8k and tops on OPs was like 6k.... ouch LOL! Glad im just dps.

Their shield alone is better then our "on the fly" HoTs. Its insta cast and counts as heals so they can pop that knock you back force sprint away then cast heals, back to full.

  14. Finally just lost all hope last night. I play a 50 op healer, best on my server(not saying much if you see my competition). But i regularly get 300k heals in most wz if not more broken 500k a few times. So was in a huttball and lost which is rare for our guild so naturally the 3 of us queuing together where irritated and then i saw it, a sorc heals who ive seen before and isnt very good did over 500k. I lost it in vent and started just bashing the class in my rage, naturally our guild sorc happened to be in vent which I respect as a player he does everything he should and more on his sorc as heals. But he said the magic sentence that made me lose it "if you think you are so underpowered re-roll a sorc". Yup let the rage commence. So did i go over board in my rage? Probably. Was it warranted? Probably as well. I love my op, it feels very rewarding putting up big numbers because of the amount of work I have to put in to get those numbers, but that doesn't mean I think we are fine. Haven't yet reached the unsub stage takes me a while but i have lost all hope in being as good as a sorc equally geared and skilled as me.
  15. Honestly OP healing isn't bad I've been an OP medic since lvl 10. The energy system takes getting used to and you have to think about 1 heal ahead. Only issue I've seen in pve is large aoe spike damage but its still manageable. I've also had no problem healing in pvp, my energy seems to stay above 50 energy even with spike damage. I think its just that it takes time to really learn it but once you do its a blast.
