  1. I'm trying to like Doc...really.

Okay picked him up a little while ago. Immediately started using him...and started dying, a lot.

Sentinel, tried all 3 specs. Combat isn't really last that much longer, unless I use Watchman spec.

I noticed in combat Doc has a tendency to heal himself. Even if I'm at 10% health and he's at 90%+. So I turned off the channeled healing. That worked a bit better.

Just for kicks I switched Doc to offense and had him go against a single normal mob that he had 5 levels on. He died.

I've gone back to Kira. With her at least we can burn through mobs.

I don't expect a companion healer to keep my topped off, but I'm spending more time recovering after fight with Doc then I do with any other companion, including 2V-R8. I know I have to adjust my playstyle so looking for some tips.

    Thanks!

On a side note, I used him for 3 straight levels...and ESC ed out of many conversations trying different choices...he got all of 100 affection during those 3 levels, putting him at about 4100 (*I gited him to 4k first). Went back to gifting and gave up on conversation affection gain. By comparison Kira just hit 10k.

The revelation of doc healing himself at 90% health and you at 10% health makes investing in the darkside mastery ability more appealable.

  2. Interrupt him when you can your force kick, push, and stasis can stop his abilities cold, don't forget about saber ward, enure, or master strike, for awhile before fighting Angral I forgot about those abilities because overhead slash was near-uber, but when I suffered for it on the pre-Angral missions I picked it up using them again, also make sure you pop the biggest Might Stim you can and have a good trusty med-pack available. I beat him once I relearned the Guardian on my second try did something stupid the first. but don't worry DOC is coming very soon, when you get to next world rush you class quest and get DOC then as long as your aware of the Gold's you can kill them pretty reliably

I guess basically what I'm saying is pull out all the stops....

  3. Doc at level 34 or 35 makes a huge difference once you get to balmorra you should rush to get Doc once you do as long as you are paying attention and know your fighting a gold elite you will be able to beat them reliably however if you aren't paying attention and don't realized your getting smacked by golds it can be still get lethal, once you get doc your whole PVE world changes.
  4. I agree , I often ask the question to Biowares Q and A what advantages are there with a guardian tank over the other 2 tanks with no response yet sadly.

If I ever caught one of those QA's I would echo the question with you, Though I'm a DPS Guardian.

  5. So i've thumbed through the last 5 or 6 pages looking for a dps build thread, and sadly could not find any atm. surpriisngly there isn't one sticked either, or a long thread at least. so im a guardian that usually tanks for ops and what not, but just looking for an everyday dps spec. thanks in advance! -Datal, The Harbinger, <Dawn>

Here is one I'm giving a roll with http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500MMZcGRRMhddGRZMM.1 I'm pretty sure the post I got it from said it was PVP. I was Vigilance before the 1.2 patch and was looking forward to trying a Focus build with my 1.2 patch respec but everybody seems so confident about the Vigilance line of the JG that I had to go back. oh yeah and if somebody recognizes there build sorry I couldn't give you credit for it, I forgot who posted it on these forums. :(

I think the decision to not sell to the oceanic region will have repercussions well into and past official release...

You think they will have server transfer, I have been informed the server I'm on is the unofficial Oceanic Server, Server Queue Cat is not Amused.
