  1. Class balance to me is the ability to counter. Not necessarily each and every skill at all times tho...but if i want to create a build that will counter a FOTM build, i should be able to.

     

    IE: Too Many Stealth Operatives... then each other class would have points and then spec into stealth detection ,quick KB's,PBAOE.......until the # of Stealth OPs drops.

     

    The issue here is pigeon holes.....just as the Stealth Operative doesn't have much to respec into (dots or heal)...people can't respec to counter him.......so people HAVE TO B & M to get Operatives Nerfed.....which just causes unsubs and QQ threads versus...."what's a good sage build to counter Operatives?"

     

    thus yielding the state of the current game

     

    PS: Rift had more options of respec but failed in properly calculating build synergy spikes which left things OP/unbalanced when I left

    I find the forums more entertaining than just sitting at fleet waiting for a que and then getting 5 vs 8

  3. 30 people at fleet , ques of 8 vs 5 after an hour wait...(I Don't remember it being that way)

     

    I wonder if there is something in the difference in player base and gamesmanship that people actually would have continued to play?

     

    Was it the gimmicks, kill trades, hacks, FOTM, and abusing games advantages/imbalances...that caused many of the casuals to unsub or stop PvP'ing?

     

    I wonder why people stopped playing....the graphics are great, story-lines are great, the individual classes are each unique and fun.....but for the life of me I can't figure out what "IN THE GAME" caused people to unsub and not play PvP?

     

    The GAME is great...not sure what could have saved it from being in the state that it is in.

     

     

    any thoughts?

  4. Question: Do the managers of these projects ever learn from failed MMOs or do they not care once they've made back their initial investment?

     

    I've always wondered how much a failed MMO would be to buy

     

    there was a video game called APB which "Development costs were in excess of $100 million." released in 29 June 2010 but "On 16 September 2010 Realtime Worlds announced the shut-down of APB"

     

    "On 11 November 2010 online games company, K2 Network, purchased APB for £1.5 million"

     

    Now this may be where I get flamed but....why doesn't someone jusy buy a failed MMO for 1-2 mill, then spend another $1 million converting it into an X-rated MMO?

     

    Add nudity and some vulgar emotes, get publicity, rake in dough?

     

  5. Tera, D3 then it's, GW2, then it's The secret world, if they wait any longer nobody will come back for a long time, untill it's free to play.

     

    D3 from what I've heard is short..(don't quote me, but I gotta hear better before I give it a look)

    Tera: No idea..never tried, youtube vids look lack luster

    Secret World: Accepted to Closed Beta, played for 4 days about 16 hours of log time....clunky & underwehlmed....not interested in playing anymore beta

    GW2: haven't played and none of my friends got invited....don't like the vids I've seen....seems cluttered Capcom vs Marvel cluttered

  6. just got off Lord Aadras at 28/39 fleet pop, and been that way last 3 nights

     

    was +100 each side 1 month ago

     

    34 toons on my Imp side guild....I'm the only one on last 3 weeks

    6 friends on Rep side....no one logged for 3 weeks

     

    D3 out less than a week

     

    my sub: "You have 31 days of play time remaining."

  7. I've been saying for weeks now that it's absolutely ridiculous that the class with the absolute highest burst-dps is uninterruptable and very hard to CC.

     

    pardon me sir...but Stealth kills us, dots kill us(no cleanse no heals)

     

    1 vs 1 when we see you coming...sure we got tools if you try to bum rush...good chance we win

    2 vs 1 we can't last...I mean ZERO survivability

    jump on us...you win

     

    If a sniper/GS kills you and you got the jump on them.....then it was either their gear>>>>>yours....or that players skill with ANY class>>>>>yours

     

    Not trying to be rude....just I have unloaded full energy bars into people with relics and stims to barely put a dent into them...I've been 100%-0% in 5 secs by stealth melee....I've been fire bombed by Pyros in 6 secs 15k-0k while I couldn't even hit them...I've been lifted into the air, thrown across the room, slam spiked, and otherwise just tossed around being played with and not really even able to anything about it.

     

     

    Do GS/Snipes need a dmg buff....NO

    do we need a stealth trap...YES.

  8. Secondly, I want to recommend that you join a competative, organized Guild

     

     

    while I understand that many consider this "MMO"...people sub as individuals, and most play as individuals.

     

    so unless you want to be stuck with ~25% population, you would not be in favor of making it a requirement that you have 2 group to be successful.

     

    pre vs pre--------pug vs pug

     

    and any pre expoiting solo ques by syncing....warn them and then ban them

     

    I don't know why MMOs don't take batter care of the fence sitters....you can't group casuals with Mama's basements

    I'd imagine this is not unique to this particular server. Some type of alteration to the queue system such that 5v8s and the like don't happen would probably go a long way.

     

    the IMP fleet has about 55 and rep fleet about 40

     

    that premade group will have a couple characters log to pop the WZ....but they won't enter....then they 8 pre vs 5 PUG and get the 600-0

     

    I love nothing more than to Pug and haven't done a dungeon in a month...but as soon as that group starts logging..it's done, and REPs stop queing.

  10. BioWare, I want an official response. On Lord Adraas for the last 2.5 hours the Republic hasn't even been able to field a full team for Warzones. While we were farmed by many separate groups of Imps. It wasn't even the same Imps over and over again. The population imbalance...

     

    wrong....it's not pop imbalance, the pop on both are about the same at fleet. I have an IMP and a REP and switch between them for crafting purposes often.

     

    The issue with PvP is that we aren't "farmed by many separate groups of Imps"...it's a total of 12 players and I can name them.

     

    People like myself quit queing or will que, then when I see that they are logging I will leave the WZ, but not before I try to get a few choice words in.

     

    It's the premades that killed this game, they made it where you don't want to play anymore...and...I am not.

     

    You have 35 days of play time remaining. When your play time runs out, you will no longer be able to play.

     

    THE ABSOLUTE 1ST THING THAT MUST BE DONE TO SAVE THE GAME IS TO KILL PREMADE VS PUG

     

    People won't pay to be farmed...it's not rocket science. As for the premade's...I hope you are happy, your premade killed not just a small group of PUGs, but the entire game...YIPPY 4 U

  11. Don't know if an exploit/hack but I had to completely unspec out of Concealment because I can't hit the Premade healers. There are 2 healers who belong to the same premade, and whenever I open up on them....I can't hit them for like 4 secs...just red lettering all over my screen.

     

    I have played this character since launch, I have killed multiple 1000's+ with my operative. I use to have that problem in January but it was fixed.....the last couple weeks....its back, and only on a couple players.

     

    The issue....it could all be coincidence....but because I have seen the wall plant hack, the speed hack, ect.....whenever I see anything out of the ordinary, I think CHEATS!!!!

     

    That is a Big Game Issue.

     

    Computer less than a year old, 1 GB grahics card, highest speed cable comcast offers.

     

    I have a Gunslinger who NEVER bugs out....and since I switched to Lethality I haven't had an issue on my operative.....but now I have lost my BIG opener and the healers laugh off my DOTS.

    But you can't look at population MIX at fleet and say all is well

     

    do a player search...type in a war zone + 50 ( ie PIT 50)

     

    you will see that there is NOT the same mix of ACs.....and if you start seeing names in premades you know, and you look at the WZ that they are in ...you start to see the "Exploited group build make-up" for premade optimization.

     

    Again, don't look at fleet, look in the WZs....and you'll start to see the "95% sentinal problem"(~24-36%..double or triple what would be normal distribution of 12%/AC)

    You clearly have a beef with the Sentinel as it stands... Also I can say that your server, if this is the case, is an exception, not the rule.

     

     

    just jumping in ....we have a "problem" with premades on my server who will all just que repeatedly during the day.

     

    I have +60 valor imp and rep on that server, and have been switching sides trying to figure out what they are doing.

     

    Ends up that everybody on both sides hate these guys.....we are a RP server, and people in general chat were saying ..."Man I wish BW would have created a PvP server for you guys to go to"....anyway their group make up is

     

    2-3 JUGS

    2-3 Tank Sins

    1-2 Pyrotechs

    1-2 Marauders

    2 operative healers

    (1 commando healer, but he doesn't play everyday)

     

    each is fully geared and modded....I still don't know how they have lvl 61 mods with ~1200 expertise, are there expertise augments?

     

    If you are an IMP you have to face them, If you are REP you have to face them.....they are always on, and many people accuse them of hacking......weird stuff always happens when they are around

     

    1. I get stuck when they hit me sometimes, can't move after, even after I die

    2. You get hit by people and you can't see them....you look around, nothing...then -2400....look again....nothing...-2000

    3. they all move faster...like in the non-engaged in fighting speed...my slows don't slow them down

    4, they flicker alot...you are hitting someone....then they are 20 m ahead of you.

     

    I don't know if it's cheating on top of gear on top of coordination......but it is Impossible to play PvP when they are on....which is almost every single night for 6-9 hours......I am on East coast server, but like on the west coast...I finally get my dailies done at 3am eastern......over 2 nights of playing.

     

     

    I know personally 4 people who quit SWTOR because of them ......I guess its better for people who don't want to L2P to just quit? So a server that had 150 fleet nightly is down to 60......and when I finally win it's down to 30

The problem is that the companions with the best gear would win, a grind for new companion gear, a grind for trading shell gear so that you could vulture it for parts for your custom ear, you would have "OP" companions, some companions would leave early seeing the pre-mades of companions they are up against, and some companions wouldn't even like the companions they are with and would argue the whole time.

     

    I see the joke, but remember that PVP Companion armor will have a name attached to it, so that it won't be abused.

     

    Winnings can go to buy Mats, schematics, .....whateve screw it....no one likes change.......Just like all the other MMOs...class imbalance, premades, and UnSUBs is the desired Goal :mad:

  15. Allow me to select the character I want to PVP with, when the QUE is fired up. That way... when I suddenly find myself on a PUG team filled with 'stun locking' operatives... I can switch from my sniper or OP, to my Jugg, Sorc, PT, Assassin or Mara... and fill a needed gap in our teams composition.

     

    while I would be okay with this, I still fear that FOTM would be commonplace and everyone would roll a JUG or Operative Healer...and it would cause more issue....but again it's thinking outside the box(which I support)

     

    How do you propose we balance PVP while still allowing people to use OP PVE skills?
