  1. They are not broken. If you think they are re-roll. You help all the good healers, like me, who will captilize on your weakness. Many of us are still healing after 1.2. The nerf is not as bad as you think, and this is coming from a combat medic in full rakata pre-patch. I can still heal better than a field medic or Mystic, when I focus heal someone. Stop qqing,or pew pewing, it makes all of us seem like whiny *****es/female dogs.
  2. Look it changed, lets face it. I had no problem healing and helping my guild get to the last boss of normal Explosive (we didnt have the time to clear last boss kephess). Im finding that heat management is actually a bit better, do to the changes with Kolto missle. Yes, we have to rely more on Rapid Shots. Yet, our rotations and heat management arent wrecked. If you cant heal, after the nerf, then you suck. Plain and simple.

Nothing should be changed save for many a skill that would give rapid shots a chance, on heal, to get rid of heat (for intense burst healing situations). Other than that, its all good. The more gear you get, and bis, the easier it is to heal.

  3. none of the ppl crying here has seen all the changes there is a **** ton of stuff that for whatever reason is not in the patchnotes, and its extremly funny that some kids think they know more than the devs when we dont even have a combat log or any other way to measure how good or bad abilities are --> making decisions based on metrics > making decisions because u got pwnd in a warzone

prime example: every sage in my guild actually agrees that the nerfs are necessary because they outshine any healer in pve and do absurd aoe dmg in pvp due to a bug that got fixed while all sorcerer in this forum cry like there is no tomorrow that they r useless

ur feedback is an illusion no game dev balances cuz ppl cry too much they use statistics - if that is good or bad is up for debate but pls dont think they give a **** about what some ppl post in here

I was a kid 20 years ago, go troll and flame somewhere else. Have you seen what they have done? So dont defend what they have done or not done, the patch ntoes indicate what theya are trying to accomplish.

  4. appearently the average noob in this forums has big troubles reading - ( patchnotes being subject to change, change to diminishing return mechanics for stats, buffs for certain ability modifiers that are not in the patch notes, and a dev statement that with all the mechnical buffs the nerfs will balance out )

    congratz for your analytic skills

It says subject to change, which means they might not. They need to revamp all the classes and start from scratch. The only way to fix what is done, is for them to have a select few gamers, us in the community, to test is and give our feedback. The problem is that they are trying to balance all the classes. Why not simply let some shine in some areas and let them fall in others? Makes sense that maur. would ahve high dps, yet they should be fragile as hell. Jugg dps should be weak, but when hit they shouldnt cry like a girl. Sorc should be great raid heals but poor main heals. Merc should be great main heals, but poor raid heals.

We complain because the Devs are making poor decisions. This is only 1.2, imagine what they could mess up by 1.4.

  5. What did we all expect? In the begining Bioware states that all classes will be balanced and that every class will have its advantages and disadvantages. Many classes were doomed off the bat. Mercs should be tank healers. We should have great single target heals and our kolto missile should be nerfed to affect only two, yet have high heals for the two people it affects, certain moves should give a chance to reduce heat, so that in the middle of a fight, so we dont have to simply stand and go "crap the tank will die but I cant do anything about it save for heal them for 1/10 of what theya re being hit for." Rapid shots should hit for more single target heals, but doesnt. Our armor bonuses should not only help with the downtime of moves, but heat heat and wait.....heat.

Sorcs should be raid heals, with the ability to save people....

Ops should be the only class that get to choose either or, raid heals or main heal focus.

Bioware, to balance the game you need to have defined roles that classes are regarded as, give people a reason to pick one class over another. Make people pick merc's for a reason, not simply to balance a raid in terms of classes. As it stands today you have made sorcs godly and we are simply mere mortals.

How many unsubs will it take before your realize you are growing just as fast as you are declining. I was looking forward to 1.2 but now im looking to whatever game puts the nail in the coffin for WoW and Swtor.

  6. One thing that I was really hoping would come out of the Guild Summit was more information on what class balances would be taking place in 1.2. There's been some hints here and there that changes are coming. IGN even reported that Jedi Knights will be receiving some new skills, while Bounty Hunters will be receiving a nerf. In fact, entire skill trees are changing so greatly they're actually refunding our skill points for free.

However we have yet to see any details about this. With 1.2 being pushed out to early April, it's becoming more difficult for me to remain patient. In particular with the reduction to damage to Scoundrel Scrapper damage, and the relative silence of Bioware to concerns about the classes effectiveness in Operations and PVP. I'm not eager to have to wait another month to find out how classes will be changing to become more balanced, and I'm sure many others are becoming impatient as well.

All of the other 1.2 changes and additions sound great so far, but they won't mean much to me if certain classes are still inherently better than others. Let's hear some information about what 1.2 will be doing to classes in particular, and don't skimp on the details.

The reason this game failed at launch was what you wish to propogate, a quick realease. Let them work it out, get your gear while you wait. It isnt that bad, WoW was the same when it first came out, so are most games. Be patient, you investment will pay off.

  7. I have some responses to a few arguments posted.

    1. Warzone meters and Ventrilo are okay, but meters in a raid are not. Implementing meters will make them required for content and start a raid cycle of gearing that leads to a path of failure.

This is complete garbage. On one hand you argue that raid meters will ruin the boss encounter tuning and you dislike being required to install third party software to raid, but on the other, using Warzone meters and Ventrilo which is the absolute number one REQUIRED priority for any raid or premade ever is fine? You can't have it both ways.

In addition, that raid gearing cycle you're so afraid of? It's ALREADY HERE! Items from normal flashpoints are outclassed by items from hard mode flashpoints. Items from hard mode operations are superior to those from normal operations. Champion gear is more expensive to acquire than Centurion gear. To claim that implementing raid meters will trigger a gear grind meltdown is absurd.

    2. Meters turn the game into a dehumanized number-crunch and take away the overall experience of just playing the game.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but this game has numbers everywhere. Health, resources, damage, healing, credits, range, valor, experience, statistics, armor - they are on your screen all the time. Damage numbers appear over the enemy and your character. Healing numbers appear over your character and the character you are healing. All a meter does is accumulate a total for each player! A simple addition of all the numbers you already see. TOR already does this in Warzones, but I don't see anyone arguing that Warzone meters "dehumanize" the experience.

    3. BioWare plans to implement offline combat logs in the future, so why are you guys whining? You got what you want.

Not really. What we get is a long text file full of numbers which is meaningless without a parser and meaningless out of the context of the raid. "Wow, I did X amount of damage! It's too bad that I don't have any data to compare it to." It's ridiculous, particularly with the Warzone damage meters already implemented.

    4.

Yes, there are winners and losers. When you play a Huttball match, does it always say 'Victory!' at the end? No, because you LOST. Winning and losing are a part of any game. There are going to be good players and bad players. It's the same way in sports. The better players will be on the first string and the better teams will win more games. You can't make everyone a winner, it's impossible.

As for your belief that we want a game of haves and have nots, that's complete garbage. Do you really want everything the game has to offer handed to you in the mail? Enemies that are so weak that any player can kill them under any circumstance? Achievements for running 10 meters in a straight line or for a character's first jump? Because that is what you are arguing for - a game where everybody has everything.

You also tell us to make guilds for players like us, and we shouldn't force it on everyone. Really? Could you express the obvious any more clearly? We aren't forcing you to do anything. How could we? If you don't want to raid then don't, and don't complain we are "forcing" an OPTION for challenging content and then tell us how we should play the game. You *********** hypocrite.

    The bottom line.

Ultimately, we only want two things:

    a) Players to be accountable for their performance.

    b) Progressively more challenging content with suitable rewards - such as achievements, speeders, vanity pets/clothes, etc.

The rewards don't even have to be gear. Contrary to popular belief, WoW raiding wasn't just about the gear grind. A lot of players grouped up just to do raid achievements, me included. We enjoyed the challenge.

BioWare doesn't have to give us meters. I don't feel raid meters is asking for much, or as catastrophic as many of you feel, and we can do without. However, without content that is challenging, and without goals to accomplish and achievements to aspire to, the appeal of logging in disappears.

The fallacies you have used in false analogy, by comparing pvp to pve. You also used equvication by comparing two ddifferent meanings of winning and losing. You also comitted several other fallacies that im too tired to point out but there is a lot of them.

I do not advocate meters at all. People believe, instigated by WoW of course, that we need meters. Can't you tell if someone is good or not? Most encounters will kill or, in some way, fail to be completed because of weaker players. So my point is do we need meters or do you and a bunch of people want meters? That is like saying that you can never tell the quality of someone without seeing a numeric number by there name. You begin to assocaite... ah hell your not going to listen or read this comment anyway.

You can make people winners. By teaching people how to be winners you build them up, unless your too much of ajerk to do so. This isnt real life, this isnt a talent (false analogy). In sports people have talents, something you can foster to a certain point. In a game there is mechanics and rotations. By helping somone creat a good rotation, and by teaching them the finer points of their class... you can make them 'good'.

You equivicated numbers to health bars etc. This is a fallacy. Yes there are numbers, but numbers that represent a specific thing..not gobbledygook. We know how much damage, roughly, we do based on crits and our power ratings. All a meter does is calculate a base number of damage done, and compare it to other peoples damage (creating a rift between people). Yet, this number fluctuates, at any given point, due to numerous factors that no one can predict nor can change (certain encounters are easier for certain classes). Most people want a meter to say they are better than someone else, the epeen argument. Which in essence, means they want to brag and tell people they should play like them (the 'i'm better than you, na-na-na boo boo, stick you head in doo-doo'.

Losing in huttball is not 'losing'. Many times a huttball sucess comes down to mere co-ordination (Vent or mumble premades/ guild runs) and gear. When your outclassed your simply outclassed...but not neccesarily cause you have a crappy team. There are runs where people kill 30-60 people or heal for 915k (e.g. kricket a pub player) and their team still losses (though they racked up tremendous numbers). There are other factors that deal with losing-none of them have to do with meters. Enrage timers tell us if we are lacking in dps, and not clearing content cause our healers are jacked- is pretty evident and does not need clarification.

FINAL ARGUEMENT: not all the classes are currently balanced. This means that some classes, by definition, can pump out more dps or aoe heals than another class. By implementing a meter, at this point, would show no depth to what we are doing incorrectly. We will see random numbers, ask what we did wron, and not have a seeable solution-due impart to unbalanced classes. Some classes, like merc, lack good multi heals. So in a scenario, a sorc could out heal based on this principle.

Your last statement is incoherent and ignorant. You say i am pointing out something obvious, then call me a hypocrite for saying that meters are being forced into the game. Ive never seen a worse hodge-podge statement in my life (and ive seen some really stupid posts). that means who agree with me, or part of what i am saying. Yet all my premises work together so, you agree with me. This makes you a hypocrite, or at the worst a *******.

Oh and last time I checked i'm not against challenging content, hell i do nightmare mode, just ignorant fools like you...who think you are right because you dont have something you want. How selfish and egoistic. When games pander to the throngs of ignoramus' like you then it ruins itself. Thats the real reason games die-you.

  8. You know guys all who are against meters are basically ruining the game =D

And the funny thing is you dont even realize that. All the hardcore raiders gonna quit this game, because bioware is shoving all the easy content up everybodies asses.

Seriously, if you suck ... well.. you do suck, meters wont change that (or maybe you get better ****)... You got meters in huttball.. i think people dont even realize that.

You fear that you might cant get all bosses on NiM? Its good so because it SHOULD be NIGHTMARE not EASY... every singleplayer boss is harder than those.. my last repair costs for EV & KP were like 2k (no wipe and one shot every boss).. BORING.

Especially Combat Log... Oh i got 1-hitted by 44k ... hmmm where did that came from? And the guessing starts...

Some of you might say "oh then serach for it in the forum or use some guide"... if your one of the first to actually do that fight i dont think theres gonna be a lot of stuff around.

Please let them complete the easy content bioware... make them feel good.. so sad. Make a game for the masses but then dont complain when we move on to a game which actually cares about endgame.

Its laughable, your response. You want something to be what it is not going to be cause you left a game that blows, probably WoW, and because you cant have your way your saying people will quit. People will quite anyway, not everyone will love this game...like not everyone loves every game and thats a given. We are not ruining the game just giving anoter perspective. I don't care if i'm a jerk, your just plain an ***.

  9. No dps meter is needed. To say that we must have a meter, because we can not discern 'goodies' from 'baddies', is ignorant, shallow, and pedantic. Guilds should decide this amongst themselves. When we go to numbers we become numerically driven and thus loss some of the humanity within gaming. When we we lose this essence, we pass over potentially good rraiders. When we do this we ruin what is still potentially viable.

What you are really saying is that we must have winners and loosers. What you are advocating for is a game of haves and have nots. When something like this occurs, guilds build a '**** you' mentality (which has already begun --due impart to imported WoW guilds). This begins a cycle, that currently holds sway in WoW (causing them to make everything so easy to abate the fears of the crappiest of players). This game is supposed to be fun, if you want this to be hardcore then play Halo or Gears or better yet make a guild dedicated too your pursuits (dont force this on everyone).

There is a phrase or plattitude: Together we rise or together we fall. United we can suceed, divided we will destroy each other.

Finally, they are making improvements. Slowly, but they are trying to get things done right. Since EA, they have fumbled the ball repeatedly. But this is because of us, we wanted it 'NOW!' We were begging for an exit from the WoW ship, before it sunk. Things take time to improve, there is still plenty of stuff to do and still good things about this game. Ilum is still decent, you can do dailes, space combat, raiding etc. The failure is that they should have post-poned the game for another year to put everything out at once.

Stop qqing. There is no need for it. You're like the guy who complains about others not inviting them to BT, which causes them not to get geared, and you blame it on the inviter.

The point is you have the ability to change this, you can make your own 'hardcore' guild. See how far it gets you, which wont be as far as you think. This is not drivel, but an empirically gathered observation, one that everyone has come to experience in their MMO 'careers' (a career you wish to make everyone a part of). All great guilds fall, replaced by better ones--in this system you wish to have (meaning there are only losers). Why not deal with a laissez faire raiding system and deal with its cons? For there are far more pros than cons.

Take the 'me' out of this equation. Things will get better but we dont need dual specs or other stupid BS that will wreck the game. My rant is over, and yours never should have begun.

  10. Its no accomplishment when your team, having an average of 50 kills each, loses to sith who only have 25 or so. Who cares if you heal for 976k. The point of a warzone is to win, not to fapp over yourself at every oppurtunity.

Funnt thing is it was so close, meaning underskilled people still whopped that A@$, even though your people killed them more. This means your people, team, sucked...logic beats skill, and your heals really didnt matter.

  11. there's an interesting article over a rumor that George Lucas intends to undo the events in the original trilogy and that he should).

The idaa is that some bounty hunters develop time traveling technology and go back and prevent anakin from becoming Darth Vader. I'm assuming this also prevents Palpatine's plans to come to fruition.

Bad troll, go back under your bridge. Where do you get your conspiracies from, the leprachaun who rides unicorn sprinkling fairy dust from his magical lamp filled with purple smoke that comes from mount olympus? Seriously whoever believes this needs to go to the doctor and ask if he can give you something for the case of the 'stupids'.

  12. This is true, I have almost full champion gear... and pvp all day. Ops and smugglers can three shot you and roflstomp you to death (through saber war and invincible). They need to allow taunt to apply to them, even when they attack you. This is an easy fix and doesnt need a nerfing. The way to fix it is to simply increase protection moves to include incapacitation. When saber ward is on it gives you a 100% chance for 15 secs to neagte movement imparment and incapicitation/negative mental effects. This would balance it on the dps side and skew it towards what it should be (***** if your not stealthed and not using effective range/ tactics).
  13. Very true stuff. Last week had a dps run through a heroic, pulled all the mobs, and then got me, the healer, killed (also the tank was overwhelmed and ther was no dps to help down adds and mob). I told him not to do that and he replied I should mind my own *expletive* business and let him do his "thing" (basically be a diptard). I left because the guy was a serious douche, and we wiped two more times (with him being an idiot).

One of those should be not to disrespect people when you screw up. It is common sense, but rarely practiced nowadays.

  14. I am not one for complaining, due to the game being rather solid for a game that has been out for only two months. I dont complain about the system, but have seen issues in areas. We need to talk to them about legitimate issues (everything you mentioned before is true people need to stop complaining about dumb ****).

Crafting- needs to allow us to make epics from recipes not just reverse eng. known recipes (Change Bop-Boe).

Pvp- Fix Ilum explots, and allow auto-kicks for afk people (not just in safety zones), and fianlly allow for a team to score for the opposite teams- so no more 'griefing' (in cases where you will lose and just want to end the game).

Pve- Fix EV and Kragga issues- bugs that stop pugs/guilds from progression (Soa is one for shure).

They probably know this stuff needs to be fixed, but suggestions are not all that bad. We want this game to be the next generation in PC games, so lets give some constructive criticism.

  15. Early access should have never occurred for the simple reason that it gives everyone more to grumble about. Realize that the beta weekends should have been the stress test not EA. This is like pre-game, not pre-pre game (the weekend of the 25th). Bioware implement whole guild transfers, open up 5 new servers for each type, and create new mobs so no problems with questing (or simply faster re-spawn times). It is easy and better than dealing with people, like me, that will complain for waiting. This isn't like going to the airport, even they are trying to streamline things, this is a game-that everyone has technically all payed for. You have tons of developers, IT gurus, and other programmers. Like Nike, just do it!
  16. Seriously ancorhead is overpopulated. I went to a bar, to have some drinks with friends, and I was still in Que. How will I be able to raid, if ques or 2 and a half hours? Raise your caps on servers and allow guild transfers...as in a gm can move all the guildies to another server. OR process refunds...I want to play but not if it means everyday I will have to wait (which it has been so far). Other than that the game kicks every games arse and is great. Oh and fix the bug for retaliation (sometimes I swing my saber a billion time before it hits and procs blade barricade).
