I must admit I prefer the old one. I really dislike this "fog" on the new version. I hope they will come back to the old one. However I really like the update of the textures.

I hope it will be the last update for this kind of thing because planets, even the old ones, still are amazing. No need to update them. I would prefer Broadsword uses this time to make new planets.

I agree completely.  The "updated" graphics are horrible!!  I can't imagine why anyone on the team thought this would be an improvement.  And for that matter, WHY?  Why are you guys wasting time on things like this.  I just don't get it.  The graphics in this game are just fine like they are.....can't you find something more useful to work on?

Why is there a delay on restoring Advance Reputation conquest points? This should have been fixed already. At least restored to 50% of the original amount imho, but I'd prefer the original amount. The offset added objectives don't make up for it and the grind is horrible for the rewards. I understand their intention of making us play longer for the same old grindy rewards as a business decision. It's intentional, It's not what they should do as they need to make the game more enjoyable for end game. At least they should communicate what is happening.

Devs, please just put it back the way it was.  Any other solution will not be good enough.  You can't push ;most people to play more, because we already play as much as we can.  It's not like we don't want to play .  But this change has had a bad effect on me, unfortunately.  I don't want to play now :(

Since I can't sell the stuff I won during the Nar Shadaa Nightlife event on the GTN because it's all bound to my legacy, is there anything I can do with the four extra speeders I now have?

If you don't want them for other characters, just vendor them for 25k each.  That's all you can do.

  4. I have the same problem.  Changed compatibility mode on the client AND on the launcher, and that fixed it.  At least temporarily......everytime I log out and try to log back in, I have to do the compatibility change to windows 8 again.  It doesn't save the setting for some reason.  At least I can play, but having to do the fix every single time is still pretty annoying.  I am running on Windows 11 Pro btw.

Having same issue. I don't understand why setting it to Windows 8 compatibility would fix anything; my pc is Windows 10.

I don't exactly understand it either, but it did fix mine.

uninstalled and reinstalled, downloaded files that the website said should resolve issue. nothing. launcher is broken and has icons covering icons. can log in but cannot get passed the Recent Updates page. compatibility mode does nothing. unable to repair via the settings cog due to saves icon covering it. repaired under the setup config. nothing that has been recommended has done anything to fix. game was working fine this morning i take a couple hour break and come back and the game is broken. no updates... please help

I have the exact same problem, but for me it started after they took Star Forge down.  Before they did that I had no problem at all.  It would be nice if someone would update us about this.

Hi, my wife seems to be having an issue where the launcher appears to be zoomed in so that the play button or any bottom to progress past a popup is outside of the launcher box and therefor not clickable. Is there any way to resolve this? She is basically unable to play

    thanks!

Same here.  Misery loves company I guess

  8. In places it is very difficult for me to determine where the water is here. One wrong step and I've drowned! Not sure if it's a bug, but I think the graphics could use some adjustment here to make the water more easily visible. Everywhere else in the game is fine, but Manaan is definitely too dark. Please see what you can do to fix this. Thanks!
  9. I don’t understand why Charles Boyd and BW insist on using the solo flashpoint method to deliver their stories. The only times this wasn’t the case was Makeb in 2.0 and then 4.0-6.0 in the Knights of (blah blah blah) expansions, and even then content came out once every month or even two before we progressed the story. I didn’t forget, I won’t let BioWare forget either.

The story flashpoints are just piling up and they take SO LONG to get through. Imagine a new player with a subscription (lol) wanting to go through all of the content they missed. The genius of BW put in over 20 of these things just to pad the runtime of their new content and expansions.

Why not make Elom a playable planet like Makeb or Yavin IV? Republic and Imperial forward bases can be the hubs for each faction, with taxis taking them to the temple of Darth Nul for a daily area, and they can start the flashpoint from there if you really want there to be one. How was this not thought of? In 7.0 we get a sliver of Manaan, a short story flashpoint, and then what? I get more is coming but I’m tired of saying that. Why is there ALWAYS more stuff coming? We’re not getting new content for at least another month or two and by then people will just leave like they always do.

If SWTOR is still so profitable for EA why won’t they fund a bigger dev team? This shouldn’t be called an expansion and I hope others help BioWare realize that. A lot has been stacked against this dev team and I understand that, but at the end of the day look at the new “story threads” we are looking forward to… *spoilers*

    - Malgus is back!

-Oh wait he’s breaking free again we don’t have control of him

    - We need to figure out what he is up to

    - We smacked him up around and put him in prison again lol

    - Mandalorians are having mommy issues

    -*crickets*

What future does this game have if this expansion is the basis for all moving forward? Not even talking about the awful U.I changes, as well as the technical issues that MANY are experiencing, when are we going to feel the effects of this story? A 30-45 minute long story flashpoint is getting to be the WORST way to deliver this content. Bring back the expansive planets, bring back faction stories (doesn’t even have to be class stories), bring in more people to help maintain this game!

I just want to go on record saying that I agree 100% with this OP. I feel sorry for the Devs but I can't lie, Manaan in particular is just awful in every way. I couldn't even finish it the first time, and I'm definitely not going back until it's fixed. That as well as pretty much everything else people are complaining about is so depressing to me. I've played this game for over 10 years now, and don't know where else to go. But now I'm actually looking for another game. But I don't want to leave, I want someone at EA / /Bioware to please pay attention....do something before it's too late. This game IS worth spending more money on!!! We need something that makes our characters feel important again, and to get us emotionally invested again. The current storylines are dull and boring. So I can't even see anything to look forward to right now, I'm sorry to say.

  10. I always set mouse button 3 to move backwards and never had a problem before today. I've tried repeatedly but it just won't accept the change. Let me know if you need anymore information. I don't know if it was today's maintenance that did it or not since I hadn't tried it until afterwards.

    Thanks

  11. I had the good fortune of attending Celebration for the very first time. I knew it was going to be crowded and chaotic so I took things in stride and didn't have too much of an agenda other than to shop around for some merch, admire some impressive costumes and attend whatever panels were within reach.

However, one thing I seriously considered in the weeks leading up to the convention was speaking my piece to the SWTOR Dev team. It was my one opportunity to introduce myself and articulate what SWTOR has meant to me over the years and why their supposed "year-long, 10th anniversary celebration" has been such a profound disappointment.

On Thursday my girlfriend pointed a couple of them out to me when they happened to be browsing the same jewelry booth we were. It was Jackie Ko and some other middle-aged fellow I didn't recognize who wore glasses and a backpack--I'm guessing that must've been Phred Newman, but I don't know what he does. I didn't bother to say anything since it didn't feel appropriate to ambush them with an onslaught of pent-up gamer rage while they were minding their own business. They were wearing black T-shirts that read "SWTOR Dev Team". I commend their bravery for wearing that shirt considering the mountain of flak SWTOR continues to receive for failing to deliver an adequate expansion on its 10 year anniversary.

Later, when I eventually made my way to the Galaxy of Heroes booth, I saw them again: Charles Boyd, Jackie Ko, Phred Newman and one other (who I'm presuming was Ashley Ruhl). I observed them quietly while waiting in line to get my photo taken in a GOH's promotional X-Wing cockpit. All the while I couldn't help but feel how sad it was that EA didn't even bother to give the SWTOR Dev Team a table for them to sit at. SWTOR had zero presence whatsoever. There was no booth, no banner, no promotional swag (I wasn't there on Friday for whatever hour-long poster signing they did). I'm not even sure the Dev Team was given chairs to sit on. While the GOH boasted a gaming station full of tablets for their pay-to-play grind game along with life-size character cutouts, artwork, free sunglasses and their impressive X-Wing cockpit photo stage, SWTOR had absolutely nothing. It wasn't even an afterthought. It was no thought at all.

I felt bad for them. It looked awkward to see SWTOR's Dev Team huddled in a GOH booth that put zero effort into making a place for them. In the end, I chose not to engage. The atmosphere there didn't feel conducive for any substantive, constructive dialogue to occur. The Dev Team consisted of a writer, an artist and a community manager (though I'm not sure about Phred's role). None of them seemed to be the right person for which to lodge a litany of complaints and grievances (nor would I have wanted to), so it felt like a moot point--another exercise in frustration. I actually felt happy to see those guys. Despite SWTOR being on fire, they seemed genuinely happy and enthusiastic to be there, just like the rest of us Star Wars fans. Under better circumstances I would have liked to offer them my sincere gratitude and appreciation for their contributions to a game many of us happen to care about very much.

Instead, I decided to share what I wanted to articulate to them in person for this post, so here it is:

    To the Dev Team,

Thank you for all of your hard work trying to keep SWTOR afloat. Your players care a great deal about this game but it is abundantly clear that you are severely lacking in the resources and staffing you need to continue delivering a quality game in a timely manner. What more can the player community do to insist that EA grant you the necessary budget for you to succeed? Celebration was a golden opportunity for EA to promote the game and honor its 10 year anniversary achievement. Instead they chose to largely ignore SWTOR and in turn ignore the thousands of passionate fans who have been enjoying your game for years.

    This is heartbreaking :(

  12. I am guessing that these are required for upgrading the next level up of your gear...."flashpoint armor". I recently acquired a couple of pieces of this while doing a flashpoint, and naturally assumed that FP-1 indicated it was for this armor. I believe it is "Elite" instead of "Noble".

I haven't been able to confirm this yet, so if anyone else knows something different, feel free to correct me:)

  13. In the last couple of days the devs are responding to almost all if not all of the complaints everyone is posting about. They ARE FIXING THIS! I have been just as upset about 7.0 as a lot of you are, and per Dev Tracker posts, I see that nearly everything being complained about is being addressed, and scheduled for the next update.

I am definitely not questioning anyone's right to complain, but I, for one, am feeling a lot better about this game that I have loved and played for the last 10 years:)

  14. Ok first off I'm just some older player who with the Play how you want for the first time ever had top-level gearing options. Now you take that away from me. I Played for a good two weeks and basically looted nothing. Usable for my character. I don't have the time with my real-life Job. I work a rotating swing shift. Up to 72 hours a week.

You spoiled us. You gave us easy leveling. You take it away.

You gave us easy to obtain gear. You take that away.

Made it so I was not forced to PVP. Now you have taken that away.

Now I gotta do Operations. It takes hours to get the group and everyone on board to complete one.

You take all the spoils away from a spoiled child they Will Not Respond how you want. Sometimes Never.

Everyone has screamed it's the end since the launch. It is a 10-year-old game that you made easy over the years. Now you want to take it back to year one. With really nothing worth the effort.

    THIS.....

I too am an older player who has been here since day one. I still love this game, there is no other game like it out there. But I am really concerned about what you are doing to it now. All I can do is hope somehow it all gets fixed, but my time playing on the PTS was very disheartening. This is a mess:(

  15. I agree. Corso and Risha's return was handled exceptionally poorly - they were doing literally nothing and had no excuse for not coming for the PC - and I haven't cared about the character since then.

I feel the same way. I adored Corso, but after the complete DISASTER of his character's return, I haven't really cared that much anymore. It was evident to me that the writers' idea of who Corso was just didn't correspond with mine. To say I was disappointed was the understatement of the decade. I'd love to see something done with him that would somewhat repair that "happy puppy" version, which is awful. Not holding my breath for it to happen though :(

  16. Sadly this has been discussed and the devs are not making changes anytime soon.

Well that cinches it....I will not be doing any advanced crafting at all. I don't understand their position on this and I find it completely ridiculous. I hope I like the story content in this update because honestly, I am not looking forward to any of the rest of it.

  17. Wish that each renown box gave more than 1 piece of gear. I know this is a supplementary system for gear drops, but man, that hurt. 4 runs of flashpoints later and I get a single piece of random gear? Might as well not exist as a system.

I totally agree. The way this is working now, I will never again try to gain Renown if this goes to live. It's a horrible horrible grind, with all the fun factor completely ruined. That's my opinion anyway. And I have 9 characters on Star Forge that are at Command Rank 300. Also....if it's a supplementary system.....just what exactly is the main system? I've missed something somewhere.....

  18. So, there are 3 reasons I have faith in Keith, from a story perspective.

    1. Majority of fans hated Zakuul and wanted to get back to Imp vs Rep. We're getting Onslaught.
    2. Darth Malgus was never meant to die in the original False Emperor. The original dev team stated they always intended to bring him back (before EA fired or ran off all the Class Story advocate devs), and Malgus was brought back under Keith's direction, righting a wrong.

But from a story standpoint, I am seeing things that lead me to believe this game is going in the right direction. They may integrate class story into the main one (which is fine - better than nothing), but it would be good to use companions to define your characters further through your adventures with them, as per vanilla.

That said, I fully support a pass to fix companions. I love the environmental dialogue, and miss it.

    You have given me hope:)
