1. You serious? 1600 aim? where did you get that stat from?

I'm at 1240 aim, and if I augemented all my slots with aim: 8 X 18 that would add another 144, which would put me at 1384, which is still way short of 1600.

I am full Bm geared with 2 war hero pieces already, not sure how I would get that missing 216 aim from

    ummm

guys I pvp with and pve with hit 1,800 on their main stat, so 1,800 aim in this case.

Stims, Data crons, Augs... Its possible.

  2. 1) Resilience doesn't protect you from acid *or* fire (they changed that)

    2) *Never* use Project without the Particle Acceleration proc. Seriously, the DPS/FP ratio is terrible without the auto-crit

    3) Speaking of Resilience, you're using it *way* too frequently, without any particular purpose (e.g. right after grabbing the ball in mid)

    4) Guarding the ball carrier *and then running away* just makes it impossible for another tank to guard and stay close. That move hurts your team.

    5) In the entire match, you used Slow Time...twice. This is a core spell in both PvP and PvE. Use it on cooldown.

    6) Speaking of spells you never use, I saw you use Telekinetic Throw exactly...once, and you interrupted it mid-cast. This is not only your second highest-damage attack, it's a crucial part of your mitigation. While it's less important in PvP than in PvE, you should still be trying to plant and channel it as soon as your three stacks of HS are up. Then again, you won't be getting HS very quickly if you fail to use Slow Time.

    7) Did you use your taunts at *all*? These should always be used on cooldown, even if you're not fighting anyone. I like to "drive-by taunt" DPS who are attacking someone else (preferably a healer) while I'm on my way to do something else. Nerf their DPS. It's free, off the cooldown, helps your team a *lot* and gains you medals.

    8) I see you're wearing a proc'd shield relic. Swap that out for an activated DPS relic (preferably power, but surge is fine). Shield is nearly useless in PvP (but not so useless that you want to drop it altogether). That relic is a waste of good DPS.

Notice all those heals popping up on your character? That's why you did so well. The opposing team left *both* healers alone.

Not trying to be a jerk, this is just constructive criticism. I'm also trying to point out that this video is *not* a good example of shadow tanking in PvP. Though, it's not a bad example of all of the things you should *avoid*. Honestly, knuckle down, watch your procs, use your taunts and abilities more effectively and you will do a hundred times better. The victory of this match was all due to your teammates and some incredibly poor target management on the opposing team. Don't expect to see anywhere near the same success against 8 man premades.

Red is what i disagree with, #2 and 8, You use PA on cooldown to Keep harnessed shadows up at all times... Self healing is win, the Proc shiled relic is not useless , very usefull infact. I notce a difference without it. Then again im 100% about staying alive.

puke green is what I agree with-- use slow time on cooldown for harnesed shadow dmg debuff and slow. Use TK throw every 3 stack of harnsed shadows. TK is alot of dmg and self healing is win. allways always use taunt, its off GCD use even if your DPS>

  3. I was told they were going to be fixing this. I cant count how many times my project doesnt do any damage because it is not instant like the Inquisitor's Shock.

Anyone else upset about this? I actually play both Sorc and Sage/Shadow and must say Shock is much much better, in PvE and especially PvP.

I like the delay, adds for better "burst" potential. shush

  4. I play a shadow tank for the enjoyment factor being able to have multiple options in a pvp scenario is great.

All this Q.q is anoything... post reall legit findings and links or shush. Also ive always played as a 31 shadow tank and still do and yes I use Tank gear. I do have my place in WZs but fact is we our a very situational class in terms of survivability, Healing can seem op when combined with stim and other skills, but 3 proc TK throw by itself is only usefull in small scale fights and with DPS bump in 1.2 rooting myself for 3 seconds to get subpar heal is scary.

As another poster (in green) has said each tank has its pros and cons but at the end of the day all are comparble in tanking.

On the otherhand A shadow tank in DPS gear is a problem, BUT they are a waterd down tank and if you know how to play your class you can kill em.

  5. PvE gear is not viable for PvP. Replace it with recruit gear.

I ran WZs allllday saturday in pve gear as a shadow tank and you know what... Didnt notice much of a differnce. I either got FF'd and was dead or I didnt, with dmg so high atleast in pve I get a boost to my defense (set bonus) and more health.

  6. the healing changes come down to this... and I hate to say it but learn to /// adjust. I pvp with a sage and scound healer all the time and they are great. They took the time to learn what skills can or cant be used in a pvp setting and adjusted, name of the game in an MMO.

darn u changed format now im lost lol

  8. Im a shadow tank, I have 6 rakata pieces, rest is mixed bm and columni.

my presence is 300ish which isnt alot.

all of my leveling was done with healing companion once obtained. I have a 50 sent as well. To me it feels more like my companion is actually healing now... I dunno but its deff doable as poster above me did it as Assassin. Trash mobs were the problem, bosses were easy peasy.

*edit* my companion as rakata boots, everything else is champion gear (pvp)

  9. Slugish LOTRo PvP combat owns SWTOR? Ha. That's a threat. Sorry but no. Even if now things are now a bit out of control in SWTOR, people don't pla LoTRO for PvP. It's even more an additional thing to do there then in SWTOR.

One thing I only liked in LoTRO is monster play. Other then that... combat is so BORING compared to SWTOR.

I know people who have played since start of lotro as a "Creep" and still only play that side. You only like monster play...? thats pvp man unless you rolled a creep and did only the pve quest which were all about getting DP for skills/abilites, which were for pvp.

Also im not saying go leave swtor for lotro... I enjoy swtor a whole lot more than I did lotro however right now I cant bring myself to pvp.

  10. off topic, but why did you quit exactly?

Ive been playing Since day 1 of EA. Im 99% sure I was 1st BM on my server tho I admit our server was behind on the valor ranking. I got to BM by spaming wz after wz because its what I enjoyed and "back" then It was more about skill rather than pvp gear.

Now it's all about gear, noobies even with cheap recruit gear will still get slaughterd with the dps increase, adjustments to heals, and tanks easier to kill. Healing and Tanking part is something that people will need to adjust to tho, so main point here is the Pvp stat gear carrot stick chase.

Little to no reward for loosing a WZ is a horrible idea... Its not my fault im a skilled pvper and stuck with players that arent on my level, and no im not an elitist. It only encourages people to leave a loosing wz and queue up again hoping for better luck and it will eventualy lead to players quitting as the "good" continue to get geared and stay "good" while the "bad" do not. I do run in premades everyone once inawhile but the amount of skilled pvpers reub side is dwindling away fast.

With only reall vialbe way to pvp now being WZs... well thats a little depressing for me, im a huge fan of SOME type of open world pvp. Lord of the Rings pvp owns SWOTR atm and if anyones ever palyed lotro pvp seriously you know how unbalanced it is.

  11. 3 days is a long time to get 1 piece of viable pvp gear

the stat jump between the credit set and the bm set isn't insignificant and it doesn't even give set bonuses

Its only a long time if you are pvping for the carrot stick.

  12. i liked the comms rewards prior to 1.2 cuz people could progress even if they were losing... 100-80 wasn't so bad compared to 90-40 now...

now after saying that, here is some perspective...

    1 win = 90 comms

1 loss = 0 comms (less than 3 medals) to 40 comms (more than 3 medals)

    1 daily (3 wins) = 99 ranked comms + 99 wz comms

    1 weekly (9 wins) = 99 ranked comms + 99 wz comms

    1 weekly (150 kills) = 99 ranked comms + 99 wz comms

let's just say you win 50% of your matches, but you can complete both dailies... ie 10 games played, won 5... the 5 you lost, you and/or your team sucked so bad, you got nothing...

    99 ranked + 99 wz = dailies x 7 days = ~700 ranked + ~700 wz

    90 comms x 5 wins/day = 450 wz comms/day x 7 days = 3150 wz

    198 ranked + 198 wz = weeklies

    =================================================

    total = 1600 ranked + 4050 wz comms (or 1350 converted ranked) / week

if you are BM (like me):

after 1 week, i would have ~2950 ranked comms... that's enough to buy a WH chest or else wait 1 more day and i could afford my main hand weapon (the most expensive thing to get)

    if you are below BM:

after 1 week, 4050 wz comms, you can afford BOTH your BM mainhand and offhand weapons (the most expensive things to get) AND a BM head piece (1550, 1550, 1075)

lol that's not so bad is it! after that it's all downhill cuz everything else is cheaper...

pre 1.2, it took me about 2 months to get my full BM gear with RNG... so it looks like it may take approx the same amount of time post 1.2 to get WH even if you were only winning 50% of your games...

that's not even taking into account that if rateds are released soon, it'll be even cheaper to get WH gear, as the cost is 1/5 less ranked comms to buy a piece of equipment if you have the proper rating...

my 1 day of 1.2 experience (30 min) then went to work:

went 3/3 solo queueing warzones (we won the games quickly), finished my daily, 369 wz comms + 99 ranked earned

i QUIT pvping, which is sad. The one thing i enjoyed no matter what game I played. Mainly because of the "no reward if you loose thing"
