  1. Most sorc healers I know are doing terrible now. The only sorc healer in my guild is doing good though. Constantly gets 500k+ healing, not sure what he is doing different than the others.

I am sure he is a competent player if he is getting 500k heals even occasionally in WZ's. I will usually be in the 350 - 550 range somewhere depending on the WZ and the situation.

But that really isn't the point to healing. If 50% of that 400k is spent healing just me, how did that help my team? By taking 1 dps player out of the mix occasionally between respawns? I can do that on a dps toon.

Healers in WZ's are supposed to mean the difference between holding a node when relatively equal opposition shows up, or losing it. Right now, if 1 am guarding a node with 2 other players (be it dps or tank it doesn't really matter) and 2 dps show up, we will likely lose the node. If 3 dps show up, we will lose it for sure because I will be dead in under 5 seconds and it is 3 v 2 from there.

  2. This.. I am a merc healer and I still piss alot of people off laughing in their face as they beat on me.

Sorc/Sage I dont know enough about, they need some more survivability I assume.

Survivability is a huge issue for Sage/Sorc post 1.2 in PvP. However, given our above average utility tool-set, it is not a simple fix.

The problem is that we can't use out escape/lockdown utilities while we are stunned, and we are losing minimum 50% of our health during that first stun. So we are forced to either eat the 8 seconds break on damage stun that the dps class is opening with and not heal our team, or we trinket that and eat the 4 second stun while we lose 1/2 our health.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure I am making mistakes at times while I play as well, I am no uber-skilled pvper. However, I am an above average pvp healer who knows how to use the tools we have vs the specific dps classes that will come against me in any given situation, and I am flat out struggling to survive most confrontations with equally geared dps players.

I can't imagine that was the design philosophy/goal here.

  3. 1 unguarded healer vs 1 decent DPS should = stalemate with the healer not really doing anything but keeping himself alive and maybe throwing a heal here and their to teamates. It is your tanks job to guard you, and your DPS job to kill the guy killing you.

Although healing could use a slight increase, it is no where near as bad as some are making it out to be.

The problem is that it is not a stalemate currently vs several dps classes. I am not interested in seeing any particular classes nerfed, so I prefer not to mention specifics, but any other full BM Sage healers out there know exactly what classes I am talking about.

When I am being pressured by one of these classes 1 v 1, I will die. If I get a few lucky crits, it will be 10+ seconds. If they get a few lucky crits it will be under 8 seconds. I am talking about equally geared dps mind you. I have no real way to measure my opponent's skill level other than how effectively he is countering my healing, properly using interrupts etc, but we have come to a point right now with PvP Sage healing that I simply can't counter the burst damage capability of several classes, and that is a problem.

I agree that the general noise level about healing may be a tad high atm, but you have to admit that TTK needs to be looked at by BW. Their data has to be showing a much, much lower TTK post patch.

  4. So this ridiculous gib-fest is better?

An unguarded healer can now be effectively taken out of the fight by 1 semi-competent dps. A good dps, or certain classes that will remain unnamed, can outright kill the healer in about 5 - 10 seconds.

If pre-1.2 was not working as intended, then I can understand the desire to balance things. But there is no way anyone can tell me with a straight face that post-1.2 is the end product they were looking for.

PvP has become an FPS style respawn fest...except that the respawns are gated...*yawn*

    More tweaks are needed.

  5. Warhero gear is meant for Rated Warzones.

It blows my mind how many players are bemoaning a grind that was never intended to be true progression.

Progression gear for this tier of Non-rated Warzones is BM gear. If you cap out on BM gear and want to continue in Non-rated Warzones, you can dump your extra comms into a few Warhero pieces.

The system is working as intended; we just need Rateds to release.

  6. Today is April 4th and apparently you can still get randomly kicked out of a WZ and dumped unceremoniously in Fleet.

It is so awesome to not get your daily WZ win, your 3 Ilum armaments, your Valor or your credits and instead get another mind-numbingly boring trip through empty corridor after corridor to get back to Ilum.

    So awesome.

    /sarcasm

    Fix your game please BW.

  7. I am 3 for 30 so far and I have also purchased one for 1000/1000.

    I am Valor rank 62.

I have 5 BM pieces and the rest Champion.

I need 1 more piece, as it is the only only upgrade.

The rest of the BM pieces for my class/spec are sidegrades or downgrades.

As frustrating as this rng method of gearing has been, it is a moot point.

BM gear is mostly terrible, and skilled players can win in Champ gear.

  8. Honestly...Armchair devs are right in this situation. Sorry but people that have been playing mmo's for 14 years sort of know what works and what doesnt work when it comes to diminishing returns in PVP. Rift developers have BY FAR the best CC immunity system in mmo history. Bioware devs should look into it and completely rework SWTOR.

    QFT.

Resolve is working as intended and it is total fail.

The cc in this game needs to go back to the drawing board in a big way.

  9. And silly me thought that this was a serious thread.

Don't come in and cry about scoundrels pls. I have a Sniper and if you are saying that your class is weaker than his mirror, you have serious l2p problems. Every day i taste on my own skin what a scoundrel can do.

I have not played a mirror class all the way to 50 yet, but I can tell you that at early levels, through the PvE content my BH is way, way more powerful than my Trooper ever was. Heat/Ammo just simply work differently.

There is no such thing as a true "mirror" class in this game. The differences are subtle, but they are there.

  10. The games given more in 3 months than wow/eq/gw/etc has in a full expansion, so if you think 30 bucks is to much for all the new content then alrighty, and D3 isnt out till late may if that...

As I said...another penny would be too much fanboi.

Diablo 3 is out on May 15th, and trust me when I say that BW's empty servers will all be a little more empty on May 15th 2012.

  11. Already unsubbed. Play time runs out late April. Just in time for Diablo 3 release.

This game was fun for a couple of months, but it has a lot of growing pains to go through still to become a decent mmo.

I feel SWTOR was worth what I paid to get this far, but not really worth a penny more.

  12. Yesterday was some of the best PvP I have had in WZ's since I started playing this game. All of the matches were close, and my daily was done in 5 matches. I even played another couple matches after because the mood in the WZ was so much more relaxed than normal.

Ilum on the otherhand is considerably worse, as in nobody goes there any more. I was there for about an hour and all I saw was other pubs doing nascar picking up crates.

World PvP needs some kind of buff tbh, but the WZ change is a good one.

  13. They need to make nameplates click-able so we don't have to be forced into the same playstyle bads use and tab target around.

No. They need to fix the tab targetting in this game. It is so bad that it can only be considered broken.

Clickable nameplates can come later with some other update, but tab targetting needs to be fixed immediately.

  14. I love healing and I know what I'm doing. I don't care about medals. Why should I? I made massive differences to games as a fresh 50 with 4 centurion pieces when I was heals.

Gear is nice, and titles are nice, and they'll come. But the real fun is seeing how much of an impact I've made on the game.

    lolwut?
