  1. Dirty Fighting is good at:

    -Stopping caps

-Pretending to contribute to your team

    Dirty Fighting is bad at:

    -Everything else

I played the spec for almost 2 weeks when they announced the Scrapper nerf. It's complete garbage (for PvP... PvE, it actually seemed fine, just clunky). It's very effective against terrible players that don't know they can cleanse all your damage or that you still operate in melee range. Scrapper is still great after the nerf, especially for 1v1s/taking out squish in the back and does everything better than Dirty Fighting, except stopping caps.

  2. Lethality sucks because:

    1. Too much wind-up before you can actually deal serious damage. It can work for a ranged class, but not a melee class with no gap closer. By the time you're done "winding-up", you're CC'd, kited, out of range, dead.

    2. Our main damage is hard countered by cleanse. Even a non-heal spec'd Scoundrel/Commando can cleanse our DoTs. That's just stupid.

    3. In conjunction with 1, give us range. We have none because TA/UH needs to be generated in *melee* range. Push back Cull to 15m, give us a way to generate TA from that distance, and suddenly, this is a great mid-range spec.

Being completely honest, I'm losing faith in Bioware's ability to run an MMO. Story (which wasn't very captivating for most classes) only goes so far when you're missing essential MMO aspects, including some semblance of balance. Don't get me started on Ilum, the GTN, World PvP, lack of endgame content, etc.

  3. I'm not even a healer and it's obvious to me that healers need to be rewarded more. They are the most influential role, and they deserve more opportunities for medals.

12 medals in Alderaan? No problem, I'll average that over 5 games as a DPS. Healer? Try 8. Everyone *loves* healers, so encourage people to actually heal in warzones with more rewards, instead of going the complete opposite direction and gimping their progression.

  4. PSA: You don't have to wear the cape.

The set bonuses are for 4 pieces, not 5. Simply wear legs, boots, gloves and hat, then pop the 2 epic mods out of the chest, put them in your favourite orange piece, and top it off with the best armor mod you can find.

Sure, you might miss out on 10 power and a few Cunning, but that is certainly worth it for you to at least be able to bare looking at your character, right? It is for me!

  5. So terrible that I've been getting the Enforcer Columi set for several reasons:

    1. The Enforcer set bonuses are *amazing* (15% more crit chance on Back Blast and permanently 5 more energy, putting us at 105 energy total) compared to the atrocious Field Medic ones (15% crit chance on Kolto Pack, [lolwut, that heal is extremely situational] and 4 less energy cost on Kolto Cloud, which is a mediocre AoE heal... and its 4 energy saved (4!) on the Cloud's beastly cooldown).

I'd take more crit on the occasional Back Blast that I throw in and 5 more energy at all times than the garbage bonuses from the Medic set.

    2. We are not Sages. Alacrity, as Sawbones, is pretty useless. Most of our healing coming from Emergency Medpac, Slow Release Medpac and Kolto Cloud; all instant. It's nice to get all three of our tics off of D-Scan 0.1 seconds faster, but that's more of a luxury than a necessity.

EDIT: For those that don't know, Alacrity = faster cast time and is on the Medic gear, while Enforcer gear has Accuracy instead.

    3. Enforcer set allows us to DPS at maximum potential, with the needed accuracy, or if we choose to heal, we can do it, arguably better than a Field Medic geared Scoundrel would because of the set bonuses.

tl;dr: Filed Medic set bonuses suck, Enforcer set bonuses are awesome, alacrity is pretty "meh" for Scoundrels.

    What do you guys think?

  6. For giggles, I decided to gear up Bowdaar because his performance was always lacking during leveling. I managed to get him 3 pieces of T2, a piece of T1 (Yay for Knight gear dropping for my groups that don't have Knights >_>)and some other level 50 greens/blues/purples, just to see if he would be a boss.

At 1200 STR and 1100 Endurance, he's quite beastly, it's just that Corso is even better at tanking with less gear and Risha hits like a *train* with just over 1100 Cunning.

It's kinda sad how gimped he is, but I'll still use him because he's my Wookie

  7. I don't know why everyone is freaking out about this, but the quests you can't abandon are the planet story quests or are pertinent to the planet story. This was extremely obvious to me after Taris (Republic), and I don't see why so many of you are clueless.

*Unless*, you're talking about a bug that doesn't let you abandon random quests, then that's a different story, but right now it just seems like people aren't even aware that there's a planet arc to go along with your character story arc.

EDIT: Case and point the above poster: "The Thing Czerka Found" is the planet arc for Tatooine. Bioware wants you to do that story line to actually understand what's going on on the planet and to have a compelling story beside just your character story.

  8. My reusable Stim is a nice free stat boost. My reusable Adrenal adds even more burst to my opener when I need it. My reusable medpac just saves my *** repeatedly. I have the Rakata versions of all three, and they're just absurdly useful all around. Do note that they don't scale up in Warzones, and that Medpacs heal for less in warzones than elsewhere, but it's just been a fantastic profession for everything.

    This.

Adding 400+ surge to your whole opening rotation, plus adding over 100 cunning *all the time*, plus a 5k reusable medpac?

    No brainer, Biochem.

  9. 1. Flash Round

    2. Shoot First

    3. Pugnacity

    4. Backblast

    5. Blaster Whip

    Target at 50% or dead

And just to be a ****er i search for sorcs w/o bubble up, after #4 they are dead.. Gay *** sorcs, god i hate them!

    Lol, that's all I do.

Find squishies in the back (bonus points for Sorcs with their shield down), loludead, back into stealth, do it again!

However, you should definitely not pop Pugnacity in your rotation until after you've killed the target and gained the stack for their death.

  10. qfe

the instance zoning idea was great for launch and the starter areas, but there is no reason for it later on in the game. dromund kaas should feel like a busy city, instead its a ghost town.

the fleet is the only truly busy feeling place. i have a feeling once i hit level 50 i wont be spending much time off of the fleet anyways.......

bioware clearly rushed this mmo. which begs the question, is voice over in an mmo really worth the time/money investment? because it is clear that 100% voice over has limited bioware's ability to fulfill the fundamentals of an mmo

    That's right on.

A lot of components seem to be lacking, and while the VOs are great, I can't help but think that if the resources toward making SWTOR fully VA'd could have gone elsewhere, what kind of blissful experience would we be left with?

  11. See, TC, you could not be one of those terrible posters and QQ on the forums about "so and so is underpowered".

Instead, your thread should be: "I'm not playing Scrapper well, how can I improve?"

Just for your future reference, so you don't sound so dense.

I will also say, that at 40+, you get wtfburst. Shrapnel + Shoot First + Back Blast + Blaster Whip + your huge crit chance and you will be a beast.

  12. Smuggler was the least appealing class to me out of all 8 (including Empire). I then tried the Republic classes during the beta and the Smuggler turned out to be amazing. The healing style is my favourite and the Shotgun abilities sold me.

The story is "okay", but I'm definitely in it for the class mechanics and playstyle.
