  1. Still not sure what the big deal is - they're mergers, but who cares? BW has the second highest paid subscription base in the industry spread across too many servers. Now they're fixing that.

Agreed. Anyone who listens to anything Larry Everett or any other blogger over at Massively has to say is relying on poor blogosphere information. That site suffers from a glut of chicken little journalism. Not that I consider any of it journalism:D It drives site viewings I suppose.

No doubt this game has taken a hit but to call these soft mergers a gamebreaker is sensationalism at its best. I think that the sweet spot for this game will be between 500,000 and 750,000 subs. I could be wrong and it goes into the toilet but that is doubtful. This is a quality game that is getting better by the month. Server transfers and the LFG tool will help tremendously with us remaining "lifers".

By the way I gave up on Massively about six months ago and have not missed them a bit. They put the Drama into Drama Queen. I recommend getting your info anywhere but there. They have really gone down hill over the last year. Everyone seems to have an agenda and that completely kills their credibility.

    JMHO

  2. You don't get it , I have many characters on both sanctum and rubat so I can't move them all even if I wanted to , I was hoping it would be adras and rubat then the other 4 on Ebon but nope I'm stuck now my small group of Real Life friends are going to argue what to do its absolute crap no other word to describe it atm.

    Cheers,

    Badorb.

Choose the eight best and come on down - its gonna be a riot!

  3. All RP-ers are being exiled to Ebon Hawk in NA.

Exiled is a bit harsh but I feel your pain man. They have to keep the RP crowd all in one place to keep an eye on us :D

The Ebon Hawk is a great server. We will be very welcoming. One East Coast and one West Coast destination server is the right thing to do imo. Long live the Mega Servers :p

  4. I want all East Coast RP servers to be transferred to The Ebon Hawk. No offence to any of the other servers but RP should not be spread out over any more than 2 servers, one East coast and one West coast. Then maybe we can go heavy during peak times just like the good 'ol days :D
  5. I am an avid PvP'er and cannot imagine not having full use of my camera. Without messing about with it I'm not sure if you could use both mouse buttons together AND be able to find a way to naturally move the camera.

My cousin used to do this until I convinced him to invest into a Razer Naga. He never looked back and has been very happy to have the easy use of his camera again.

Moral of the story is to invest in a gaming mouse if at all possible. With a Naga you can also shift click any button for additional abilities. It truly is the best investment you can make besides buying the game (assuming it runs well).

I am trying to offer useful advice and that is to get a multi-button MMO gaming mouse :D

  6. Way to toe the line, Asavar.

It is a travesty of $200m proportions that seated animations for live mounts are a "technical challenge" with this game's Wal-Mart engine.

What's a Wal-Mart engine? Go to Wal-Mart. Buy a book-shelf for $59 and slap on an expensive coat of lacquer.

Now it's a nice looking Wal-Mart bookshelf, but it's still a Wal-Mart bookshelf. That's pretty much what this engine is, a budget off the shelf solution (to save $) with a $200m coat of lacquer.

Holy crap - you win bro. Most Hyperbole in a post EVER. Congrats - where do I send your prize?

  7. I disagree, I think they should just add Meters that work the same as Recount

If people are really so worried about them being linked too often (never really seen this in WoW; it must be something that only effects PuGs); then they should just give Raid Leaders an option to toggle Meter linking off and on

Yeah, linking the damage results is primarily a PUG thing.

I'm all for dammage meters and all the theory crafting that comes with it.

I'm completely against thee elitist jerks that turn a useful tool into a reason to abuse someone.

    Just my .2

edit: If we can keep a Flashpoint finder from being cross server then at least the community will have a chance to weed out the jerks. I don't know, just another .2

  8. That's not a wall of text. He used paragraphs to break up his different points. If reading is too hard for you, I suggest getting off the forums.

OP, while I don't agree with your early points, the LFG tool and dual specializations are things I was really surprised weren't in the game. Once I heard BioWare's rationalization of why they didn't put it in, I was floored. Their arguments are complete and utter nonsense that reek of covering up laziness in the name of "community" or "immersion."

Each freaking paragraph was its own wall of text.

So this was a multi "wall of text" post. Well done OP. What was your thesis again? It somehow got lost among all those words . . .

  9. I recommend using stems - they have helped turn the tide in my favor on many occasions.

Sorry to hear you are having problems though.

I love the tough fights, they really test me like I haven't been tested in an MMO in ages. This bodes well for future play throughs imo and will keep the game from ever getting stale.

May the force be with you!

  10. As time goes on more and more people will figure it out. I know its hard to understand but not everyone knows whats going on when they enter a warzone for the first couple of times. And no, they shouldn't have to look it up either. The game is new enough for people to learn while they play.

OP, I hope you don't rage on them in game - that is the easiest way to discourage people from playing and if you are Republic then you already know we need all the help we can get.

  11. Sorry I missed that part. Can you please point to where I said TOR lost 50% of their subs?

I just shared an observation without any analysis of any kind. AND even stated it was ONE observation and a small sample.

This type of response is what makes this the single worse forum community of any MMO I have ever played.

Every time you share an observation there is analysis implied. Wether you meant it or not, doesn't matter.

If you were not making a point then why share an observation?

  12. This is a legitimate post, not an attempt to troll.

How can anyone look at what GW2 is doing to the MMORPG genre and then look at TOR and compare them with a straight face?

How can anyone take you seriously? Posts that start off like yours are obvious troll posts.

I stopped at "straight face". You were intentionally inflamatory which = troll post. This is fact.

  13. The best in that.... it let me realise how good WoW and Blizzards customer support is. Thankyou. Ill be returning to WoW now to pay for a 10 year subscription as ithis was meant to be the wow killer. If this is all you can make with hundreds of millions of dollars then the mmo genre has no hope.

    Can't wait for Project Titan

By your logic then Project Titan, being a part of the MMO genre, has no hope. And yet you are looking foreward to it. Interesting . . .

  14. While the quests, the lore and the dialogue on Kaas was pretty good, I must say that even by MMO standards, it don't look like a capital for a country, let alone a world, and even less a Empire

The citadel is visually striking, I will give that, but Kaas City entrance is definitely less majestic than...well, throw rocks at me, it's look more ramshackle than Stormwind.

I agree, I was underwhelmed. The rest of the planet was full of great quests.

The city was kinda lame though.

  15. Nice post - you did a lot of good work for the community on this.

I am in favor of combat logs. I am not a math person but I do realize their importance to a lot of the high end gaming crowd. Sort of a necessary evil in my book, but there you go.

Addons and macros would need to be heavily regulated. No deadly boss mod types or macros that symplify the the combat mechanics. Also, no gearscore mods. I think that is one of the most misunderstood and therefore damaging mod for WoW.

I am also in favor of a Flashpoint finder that is server only. Just in case anybody was curious ;)

  16. I went looking for one and found that the only servers close to even are RP servers. Stay away from PvP servers, all that I know of are Empire heavy.

My advice . . .do what I did and roll Republic. I have had a good time being moraly suspect among the good are righteous.

One other thing - I don't pretend to have tried EVERY server. You might have better luck than I did.

May the force be with you.

  17. Not too bad. With all the flaming posts I have seen lately this was a pleasant surprise. Good job OP.

I disagree on the LFG tool. I wouldn't mind seeing an LFG tool be server only. Open up PvP warzones to multiple servers but not Flashpoints. At this point in the games life cycle you don't need to link multiple servers to get timely Flashpoint groups. In a couple years they will probably need to change that but for now lets keep flashpoints between members of the same server. I think that makes people more civil, when they know they have a reputation to think about. Some people, not all.

edit: Forcemuffin ftw :p I just noticed that - awesome
