  1. I've received a grand total of SEVEN infractions and a warning defending this game from the very beginning and you know what it's embarrassing. I've said so many times if Rift can do what it did in a short period of time SWTOR and Bioware can too, boy how wrong I was. So I'm letting my sub run out August, I wasn't even a hater I loved this game. But EA along with Bioware just don't know what they're doing

I've gotten several infractions from defending this game. What I've learned; Pointing out problems with others logic: Intimidation. Making fun of 133T SP34K? Harassment. Going and posting OP's response from another of his threads where he argues the exact opposite? Spam.

My reward? Insults and degradation from CS when I ask for help after I accidentally dropped a quest.

My sub is up on Sunday.

Might be back when this goes F2P. At least then I'll be getting the CS that would be equal to the amount I'd be paying for.

  2. 1. How do you think your Juggernaut spec is perceived by other classes?

As a liability. Tanking is sub-par. We are 4th rate tanks out of 3 possible choices. DPS is sub-par and when combined with the melee hate this game has, means I take extra, unavoidable damage, meaning I require more heals, meaning few Op invites.

    2. How do you perceive your own spec?

This is the basic sword and board class from every other MMO ever designed. Zero imagination went into the design. Without a ranged pull or disarm, group pulls are stupid trying to get everything within 5 meters of me. Why does the tanking class have fewer tanking cool downs than the DPS AC? My perception is that BW actively tries to hate all melee to death. The resolve system is severely biased against melee. My perception is that no designer has ever played an AC outside Sorcs or Snipers and just look at numbers for other ACs and say "Working as intended"

  3. I'd just like to point out hat the ship training dummy's are at whatever level your toons are and scale with them.

WHAT!!! That can't be true. It is impossible for BW to do something with that much foresight. You must be a BW fanboi undercover double-secrete reverse shill to concoct such elaborate, treasonable falsehoods.

I did not know that. Thanks for the info. :D

  4. From what I've seen, you may have gotten approximately the same amount of choice as in ME3, as far as the ending of ME3 goes.:D

I never was a ME fan, so them totally blowing the ending had no bearing on me.

You leveled up 50 times on Corelia? Like i said before: Hyperbole much?

That's cool that your primary reason is for the story. Have you played any more than the JK?

I liked my Sith Warrior story, even though I blew through it to get the Legacy I wanted (which is now gone :() and am working through the Operative and Smuggler stories nice and slow. Enjoying them so far.

  5. I respect your opinion, the problem I got with you is that all you do is aggressively defend this game as if it is your duty. It seems like you are offended of what I am saying like an attack on you personally

    Nah, its cool.:rak_03:

I aggressively defend this game because I enjoy it. I enjoyed WoW for years til I saw them caving to the babies who can't be bothered to actually play the game. I really can't understand the people who can't enjoy the game because it is not perfect or because the animations aren't perfect or there aren't benches to sit on. It is what it is. Not what you believe it should be.

If I seem offended, it is probably because it offends me when people aren't honest with themselves and take to the forums to defame the whole game because of one thing that they believe is lacking. These sort of people who are willing to write off the entire game because some little (mostly) insignificant aspect of the game isn't up to their impossibly high standards genuinely baffle me.

Also, I may have been overly aggressive with my first post because of the title of your post. Hyperbole much?

    Also also:

    1 Are you an RPer?

2 Are you tank specced? DPS JKs (and Sith) have rather low defense, so you wouldn't be seeing as many deflections. Genuinely trying to help.

As for "All I do is defend the game" bit, here is my wall of text on the suggestions board for changes I'd like to see.Feel free to peruse it (or not) and leave you own feedback.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=450516

In the end, have fun. If not in this game, then the next.

  6. 1. No I am stating my opinion just as you were stating yours

    2. View every dev walkthrough before the game came out and view this http://www.swtor.com/info/overview

    3. :)

    4. Companions are part of my story, picking up 10 cat teeth is not

    5. First off, it is rare that someone deflects my attacks, secondly, I should not have to look very hard to see it, and finally, you only deflect bolts if you just stand there without doing anything.

    6. Occasional fillers are fine with me, problem is the filler the JK had, lasted 7 late level, level-ups that is WAAAYYY too long and it kills the story

If you have anything smart to say about this post, then feel free to comment if you are going to insult it and defend this game no matter what like a child please keep it to yourself

If I sound childish, it is only because I'm trying to argue down to the level of your complaints.

Everybody is an adult when they are defending their opinions, while only children would argue with them.

    1) You go from:

    1. The story and planets are extremely linear- SWTOR might have commited the worst sin possible in an MMO and that is that they made almost all the planets linear. I found myself with my trooper in tatooine looking for a base where hostages were held. Unfortunately, after running around for 15 minutes into an Imp base, I had to google search a map of tatooine just to find out that there was only one way into the base. This is just one example out of many. The story is also linear, It is go here, go there, kill this, kill that, and there really is no mystery on where you are going at all.

    to

    1. In other mmo's there are mountains, oceans, lakes, and multiple ways around areas. In chat when I say, "lets raid this" people know what I am talking about.

    That is called re-direction.

    2) from your link

Choose the Light Or Dark Side

Meaningful choices throughout your journey will determine your path down the light or dark side of the Force.

Your opinion is they are not "meaninful" enough. Fine. That's your opinion. But, as you said in your OP:

Unfortunately, my expectations were far to high for this game and it was a complete disappointment.

Your perception is not the dev's responsibility.

    3) ;)

    4) What if they are force-infused cat teeth that a sith needs to resurrect a long dead sith-lord? I still agree with you that companions are lacking.

    5) Are you tank specced? If not, then your dodge will be quite low. Might be why you don't see them enough. I don't think anybody could deflect a blast while hitting someone. Animation frills must give way to game mechanics at some point. How would you like it if you couldn't attack because the game decides the next blaster bolt that won't hit you for .3 seconds will be deflected? As it is now, if you deflect and hit at the same time, the attack animation takes precedence.

    6) I'll take your word for the JK line. Played any others?

For me, the story only sorta matters while leveling. At 50, I'm working on gearing up while playing alts at a pace I enjoy.

    Also, are you an RPer?

I like this game for what it is. I have a massive wall of text on the Suggestions forums for improvements I would like. But I'm not going to start whining because someone has a differing opinion.

  7. 1. In other mmo's there are mountains, oceans, lakes, and multiple ways around areas. In chat when I say, "lets raid this" people know what I am talking about.

    2. I am not basing choices off your or my standards, I am basing it off what they (the devs) told me, they promised a real heroic story with choices that have "major" impact on my story and sure you might here someone talk about what you did but in the end, it never mattered if I killed this person or that person.

    3. Just like I said, I was expecting people to give me that response. Fact is you cant skip bonus unless you plan on getting out leveled by the quests

    4. What I said was that I would like to see companions be more integrated with the story. There is a simple fix to what you said on how I would "Holler" at Bioware, make them BONUS, not required.

    5. I'l give you that, if you just stand in one area with doing any damage whatsoever, you will deflect blaster bolts, but I dont feel like doing nothing for cinematic purposes, I want to see my lightsabers make contact with my abilities from level 5-50 not just with the ones from level 1-4

    6. It is a fact that the game wastes your time with pointless tasks in the story

For example, in the JK story, you go to one planet and stop a weapon from destroying a planet, then the next planet, you do the exact same thing, just to stall you for your final fight with the emperor

    1) Nice try at a re-direction. You feeling that insecure about your position?

    2) Link plz. Or are you mis-remembering? If a guy you killed is not there, that would lead me to believe that choices have a change. :rak_02:

    3) :D

    4) Your other posts are complaining about bonus, non-related questing. It stands to reason that people would complain about companion quests.

    5) Do you look? I deflect bolts, block and parry constantly.

    6) And? Every MMO, every GAME, has filler.

The Empire has multiple super-weapons on different planets? Oes Noes!!!!

Would it have changed things in your mind if one planet had a weapon to destroy and the next had a weapon factory to destroy? Same outcome.

  8. 1. Name one MMO that is non-linear. Every MMO bread-crumbs you from one quest hub to the next. And, let's face it, there are only 2 types of quests: kill x things and fed-ex quests. Everything can be boiled down to those 2 arch-types.

    2. So the choices did matter. Because they didn't matter much (or to your high expectations) does not mean they didn't matter at all.

    3. I'll agree that there seems to be a lot of travel in game. But all your class quests are based in the same zones you could be questing in. And some of the bonus stuff is stupid. "1) Kill 50 guys. 2) Pick up 20 boxes, but first, you have to kill all the guys standing around the boxes." That sort of stuff is stupid. But, bonus is bonus. Skip them. Also, see my 1 about quests.

    4. True. A few more quests with my companions would be cool. But then people (like you) would be hollering about BW forcing you to run all over the galaxy to fulfill bonus fluff quests.

    5. Once again, its more you than the devs. My sith deflects blasters all the time (it is cool when I kill a guy with that). Sorry that BW can't meet you and your expectations on Mt. Olympus with a gold plated sparkle pony.

    6. Just repeating previous complaints to make it look more impressive than it is. Also (I haven't started my JK yet till I unlock Chiss) how many books/movies has the protagonist about to reach his goal to have it suddenly snatched away? Complaining about 6,000 year old literary devices is like the woman complaining there aren't enough benches to sit on the other week.

Unfortunately, my expectations were far to high for this game and it was a complete disappointment.

Yeah, we get that. That is all you had to post. As soon as you realize that it is you and not the game, the more fun you will have.

  9. it is the other way around as i understand it, razer are selling their products with the SWTOR branding. The keyboard and Naga mouse comes with a 3rd party software that allow you to make macros. And Bioware dont have to make their own macro system

    http://www.razerzone.com/swtor

And you even get a unique ingame colored crystal if you buy any of those products

    Depends on the macro.

When talking about anything macro related we would like to provide the following guidelines:

    No automation

No delays or looped commands in macros

It is okay to bind a macro that performs abilities after each other as long as it still requires the user to press the button on the physical keyboard each time a new action is performed

These rules apply regardless of which peripheral you are using.

Hope this clears it up a bit, but if you have further questions regarding the topic please get back to us!

    So:

You cannot make an anti-AFK macro

You cannot make an 'Oh Crap' button that fires off all your defensive CDs at once

You cannot make an auto-attack macro by adding in your free attack to every other attack so your free attack fires if the other attack is on cool down

You cannot add in Retaliation to every attack to make sure it goes off

You can make a sequence macro, as long as you have to hit the button each time (I almost did this with AHK, but never got it to work right, so I decided to become a better player)

  10. There is no one reason people are leaving.

Look over the forums and you'll see people claim to leave for:

    Too many patches

    PvE being too hard

    PvE being too easy

    PvP being too easy

    Nerfing FotM builds

    Stuff costs too much

    PvP being too bursty

    Can't kill anyone in PvP

    Impossible to get money

    PvP having too much CC

    Too many buttons to press

    Game needs to be patched

    Promoting someone else to FotM

Nothing to buy with millions of credits

No open world PvP (aka ganking lowbies)

Being too lazy to update their own computer

No response to tickets for the past 30 minutes

Won't fix mistakes players made, but it is still BW's fault

Player's cant be bothered to read and think about the difference between Global Unlocks and Character Perks

I saw one woman write a 3 page diatribe on how she was quitting because she couldn't sit on benches (role players )

The problem I see is the IP is something that attracts a lot of people, many who have never played an MMO. These people think that just because they pay 14.95 a month, that BW should just hand them everything they want with no effort.

I think a lot of people are genuinely surprised they can't use cheat codes to get the best stuff in the game.

  11. I can't believe they didn't fix the graphical bugs in the game with 1.3! There are so many now!

I will list them here so you guys can know what's going on. I'll try to add more info and footage on the bugs over time as well.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    -> Hood Clipping

There are tons of robes that clipp through the inquisitor's head, at least with body type 2. I made a thread that explains it and has many screenshots, so I won't polute this thread any further with it =P

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=434184

    -> Big Butt Robe

All of the "cloaks" are showing a big butt. As if there was a wire frame holding it in place. Just like the old dresses women used to wear. Again, I experienced this with body type 2.

    http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-06-11_21_52_59_430277.jpg

-> Companions holding weapons even out of combat

I have experienced this with the Inquisitor companion, Ashara Zavros. I have seen Jaessa Wilsam with her lightsaber turned on at all times as well. I'm not sure if blaster-wielding companions also have this problem. Why would someone have their lightsabers on in the Imperial Fleet?

-> Lightsaber "blades" showing during conversations

If Ashara Zavros has her lightsabers on, as she always has, or if I had my lightsaber on, and triggered a conversation, the blades would appear floating inside the cutscene with no hilt or character holding them. http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-05-28_20_29_49_218612.jpg

    http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-05-28_22_48_16_542763.jpg

When I find better screenshots I'll make sure to post them here.

    -> Stealth Walking

If I trigger my stealth and hit the "toggle walk" button, the running animation will still be used and only my speed will be reduced. This makes it look like an awful "moonwalk" going forward. Why can't they add the walking animations for stealth as well? I don't have an operative or a scoundrel to test this with them, though.

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fReuxqtpnI&feature=youtu.be

-> Assassin not holding lightsaber well if walking w/ sprint

As you can see, I like triggering my walking animation. Correct lightsaber holding works fine if I don't have my "passive sprint" ability on. If I have it on though, and have my lightsaber turned on while walking, the character's left hand will hover above the lightsaber instead of grab it. If I turn my sprint off though, the lightsaber will automatically move upwards as to fit inside the "hand cavity".

    -> Taxi's Propeler Bug

After 1.2, the taxis began to display a straight "chain" of the propeler's exhaust fire leading back to the taxi pad. This "chain" can cut through buldings and depending on the taxi's position it can even go through the taxi back to the taxi pad. I couldn't find a more detailed screenshot about this. I will update this post when I do.

    http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-04-30_17_43_47_000753.jpg

    http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-04-14_00_25_38_935174.jpg

-> Out of place NPCs, as if they weren't "tagged" properly

I've found this problem to happen more often at higher level quests. There are some NPC's placed as if they were "objects" in the world. When I hover my mouse above them, they are highlighted, but no information is shown and they don't display any name tags. They are always immobile and placed at a weird spot. They are also always inside of an instance.

-> Imperial trooper standing in the middle of a republic trooper group. Nothing happens with him as I kill the republic troopers. It is in a hoth instance, when you face the little elephant and discuss about the power generation problem for the imperial outpost. I though there would be some reason to place an imperial trooper there, but as I finished the quest I realized I met no other imperial troopers inside. Maybe it's from the republic instance?

-> I was about level 45 and was called back to Nar Shadaa. I had killed Darth Paladius back when I was level 25 in my first trip to the planet. When I arrive at my Cult's house after so long I see a standing Sith Pureblood in the middle of the room, with no tags, no info, no name. Although If I hover my mouse above him, he is highlighted. I'm am almost sure it's the Darth Paladius model.

    http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-06-14_23_25_42_024047.jpg

-> I was in belsavis just outside of an Inquisitor Instance as I saw a droid walking (as in moving) inside of the instance. The strange thing is that we can't see any enemies or NPCs inside an instance before we go in. When I went in prepared for combat, the droid freezed (as in stopped moving) and I realized he had no info, names or tags of any sort. Again, the only interaction I could have with it was hovering my mouse on him as make it highlighted.

ps.: It is importante to note that my cursor changes accordingly to the NPCs nature. It was the standard orange arrow when I hovered above the Imperial Trooper and Darth Paladius. When I hovered above the droid, the cursor changed to the red "target" reticule. I couldn't attack it though.

    -> Various Graphical Oversights

I'll post in this section some random graphical oversights:

Two Hoods on the same character: He is wearing one and the other one is lowered down.

    http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s369/Dubaco/Screenshot_2012-06-17_14_53_35_088928.jpg

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, there are plenty of bugs that are easy to fix, yet they have done nothing to adress them with 1.3. Do you have any other graphical bug I could add to the list? And don't worry, I will upload the screenshots eventually, and maybe even upload a video about the stealth walking bug.

ps: There is no use to send them a ticket. They will always say the issue is under investigation or is working as intended. They are certainly not working as intended. =P

Were any of these in the patch notes to be fixed?

Can OP point to where anyone said these were to be fixed in 1.3?

  12. I thought greedy are called corps that make millions with poorly halfway done games? And not the ppl GIVING money.

Did you accidentally the whole thing?

But, if you give MMOers everything they think they want, they will still complain about something.

  13. I also enjoy the tears from the people who couldn't be bothered to read the CHARACTER PERKS were in a different section from GLOBAL UNLOCKS.

Think of it as a tax on reading comprehension. :rak_03:

    I'm enjoying my various perks.

Would I like an option that some were global? Sure. Am I gonna cry about it when you can make 250k in credits per day in dailies. No.

Sorry BW just didn't hand you a gold plated pony.

  14. I hate BW for forcing us to do all this stuff!!!!

Oh wait, they're not. Optional stuff is optional.

Nobody is forcing you to get this. No body is forcing you to get the new companion.

If you want one of these options, this is how it is being done.

    Suck it up or don't.

  15. (did you make a "speling eror" as a joke or is it somewhat ironic, matslarson ?)

now tell me WHERE IS THE FKN SKILL DIFERENCE?!?! IN ALL THE CASES U NEED :eye coordination, game awareness and fast reflexes!the only diference i see is HOW FAST u can dispel, and as i see it and AS THE MAJORITY OF COMPETITIVE PVP COMUNITY SEES IT>>>>> FASTER=BETTER..and CLICKIN STUFF just MAKES IT SLOW...NOT in ANYWAY related to skill

*Relevant part I shall comment on*

You just said there is no skill difference between macros and no, only timing. But the mouse-over you made with AHK would still register a click, so you are not actually speeding anything up. And 1 button press for a click and a dispell may be TOS violating.

If there is no skill difference and no timing difference, then why rely on the crutch, other than laziness or lack of skill?

Now if you are using a macro that selects Frame 1 and then dispells in 1 button click, you're in violation of the TOS.

u can make MOUSE OVER HEAL MACROS...MOUSE OVER CHARGE MACROS...TRINKET+ADRENAL+SELF BUFF IN 1 KEY MACROS..etcetc...pretty much any macro u used in other games...

    That is a violation.

Hope this clears it up a bit, but if you have further questions regarding the topic please get back to us!

So if I read this right, to make a legal "mouse-over" macro, you would have to write an AHK script that, when pushed, would click under your mouse then, when you push the button again, dispell.

So you have successfully gone from a click and button push to 2 button pushes. GJ!

  16. All these here "transfer" people are taking our mobs, money, and in some cases even our women!

I say its time we close the door on these dirty transfers and kick the ones who are in our fine server out so it can once again be the great server it was!

Back in our forefathers day they didn't have no "transfers" this was OUR server. Now the transfiggers are running a muck and ruining the great community we once had.

I am about to learn how this forum's Friend feature works :)

On topic, has anyone tried "LFG to do dailies. Much faster with 4 peeps!"
