  1. I consider myself to be a very casual player. I work a 9-5 and typically play nights and weekends. I made Battlemaster about three weeks ago and I find after doing my PVP dailys, I have nothing further to keep me busy. I do not enjoy prescripted content, so I do not wish to experience PVE end game.

I am curious what the other Battlematers are doing in-game to keep busy?

  2. I have a marauder/sentinel as a main, and I'm thinking to roll a juggernaut/guardian.

I know all the strengths of marauder as a class and I know that marauders dps is really awesome both PvE and PvP, but I am curious about the performance of juggernaut class in high end PvE/PvP environment.

Is there any point of rolling juggernaut if marauder overpreforms it in dps multiple times? Or mby classes dps capabilities are almost even?

Are juggernauts capable to compete with marauders in dps in high end PvE or not?

And here go situational questions to people who played for juggernaut:

Is it possible to overagro as dps Juggernaut in high end PVE assuming that the tank which had a boss was actually doing everything right? Have you done this often?

PVE I dont know about, but regarding PVP, Rage Juggs are much more straight forward to play that Mara's and they do comprable damage.

  3. Here is a great tutorial on talents, Stats, Rotations, and ways to be better than the competition. This is not something I recommned you follow exactly as we all have different playstyles, but it is easily the most informative video out there right now about Rage Juggs (from a Jedi Guardian's Perspective,) and I encourage you to watch it.

Pay special attention to the illustration at 3:12. Morsexy is on the left and I am on the right.

  4. This is wrong. I've never had a smash miss for any reason other than:

    1. Assassin talent.

    2. Tank class debuff reducing accuracy by 18% - So far in hundreds of warzones this has happened once despite being debuffed quite a bit I'm sure.

Lets all please be very careful what we spread around.

Using the default accuracy mods is in no way optimal for this class as stated in my guide. Given how much surge you need once you hit the heavy DR plateau for Surge at 275ish rating, using a mod with 37 power and accuracy will be more useful than a 34 power mod + 48 surge that barely ads .2% to your surge multiplier above 300 surge rating.

Please re-skim read my post. Did I say anything about Smah missing? I clearly stated that Force attacks have 100% to hit. What I am factually stating is that in order to bypass the base 5% defense each opponent has accuracy would necessary.

Also nowhere did I recommned using the defualt mods in PVP, gear. Once again I clearly stated that I use them and have no problem playing well in Warzones. Clearly the Deft Mod and Adept Enhancment are better to use, but its not like you will fail if you dont use them. I play just fine with the stock pvp gear mods

  5. Also, most people lol @ Accuracy for PVP, but if you want to maximize your LOLZSmash think about this. Force attacks have a 100% change to hit, therefore you also need 5% accuracy on top of that to bypass an oponents base defense.

Honestly though man, I play Rage and just use Champion/BM gear with the mods/Enhancements that come with it and even though I dont crit as high as some people might, I still rock people and easily get 8-10 medals a match.

  6. Is dropping my 28/35 unbuffed crit chances and relying almost solely on smash the right thing to do? I'm just trying to wrap my head around all this, before sinking hours into gear swapping.

Yes, Crit is terrible for Rage. If you are looking to maximize damage from LOLSmash, Strength > Power > Surge > Whatever

Also, some of the pieces of champion gear are better than their BM counterparts. Avoid anything with crit on it. A good way to select gear is to add Strength + Power. Whichever piece gives you the best combined is most likely the better fit granted you are not sacrificing too much of other stats and or picking up useless ones.

  7. Also, critical hit is a very bad stat for rage juggs, you're far better off going for power.

At low gear levels Crit has more value, but once you start getting pvp gear power becomes much better

    Questions:

Do you run Soresu form? If not I always switch into it when fighting Maras. Hell, I run Soresu form all the time, I like it better pugging Warzones.

I start cycling my defensive cooldowns around mid fight.

I will make an educated guess you have Biochem, so gg

I try to time my aoe stun so that it allows me to get range and start our rotation over.

  8. Actually their main source of damage for the most popular specc is dots. And yeah I'm level 50 rage.

In my opinion they are the toughest class for Rage Juggs. If we are talking about two players that are not baddies, both the Mara and Jugg have full cooldowns, and gear level is comprable, you will prolly lose to them more than 50% of the time as a Rage Jugg.

The main reason I say this is that the fight will go on long enough for their Dots to take effect. Sometimes you can burst them dead before this happens thus nulifying their dot's to shine.

I know what I just said up top is not typically the ideal situation in a Warzone, but I avoid Mara's that are at full health, my time is better suited targeting other classes.

  9. I am speced vengeance and use that spec's form. Yes, I am using Quinn and he is geared as good as the available gear from quests and the GTN.

Thats your problem. Here are some solutions:

1.) Level as Immortal - Soresu is your friend

2.) Pick up Biochem/Bioanalysis - The stims, adrenals, and medpacs are fantastic

3.) Use Jaesa. She is the perfect companion as her buffs work great with melee

I used Quinne for the last two bosses in our class quest

IMO Veng is prolly the worst of the leveling specs. Go Immortal and outlast stuff or go Rage and melt stuff.

  10. i play a sage healer, and i pvp a lot..

I can understand your frustration but i must add that the kiting and running away aspect your saying here is not the same as "getting beaten in a 1v1 situation"

In a fight to death you would probably win. but in WZ environment we simply try go get away from melee so we can heal. wich in itself is a win for you.. the less time we spend healing others because we have to run and heal ourself the more you gain the upperhand.

PVP is a bit more complex than YOU vs ME.

This. As a melee your job is to pressure healers so that they have to kite you and heal themselves. By doing so you allow the rest of your team to kill the dps because they arent getting heals. Its not a glorious way to pvp, but its necessary if you want to win (unless you are playing against baddies.)

  11. ^ Made me LOL

Thank you for stating that your Opinion, in fact, remains the same...

Also, "two proven viable"? Site your sources.

Again, we're glad that you've factually confirmed your opinion on "viable" specs... :p

My facts I learned in 3rd grade Math class. Its quite simple.

I am not saying other specs are not viable, I am saying that the two I listed above will afford you the best opportunity to consistently earn Valor.

  12. Ok so I am lvl 30 at the moment so right before I get Jaesa. I have been using Quinn since I got him but I am wondering if Vette would be better. Quinn's healing is nothing or he doesn't heal me to begin with. I have turned off his attack abilities but find he still doesn't heal me. I assume because I jump away from him to start a fight. So with that does using Vette work better as she can take down enemies herself. With Quinn I always have to come back and finish off the one guy he has been fighting at the end.

I only used a healer companion for the last two bosses in our class quest line.

I would always roll with a dps companion, I preferred Jaesa due to her being ruthess and approving of me killing innocents while Vette gets mad at you.

  13. Yes, I know. You said:

The problem is that threat generated from attacks has no affect in PvP.

    .............speechless

oh wait ok I fixed my original reply for you, now can you make sense of it?

  14. I could make suggestions about your specs all day long, but the fact remains that IMO there are two proven viable specs for mazimizing Valor/Medal gains in a PUG Warzone envirnonment:

    Rage:

    http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101cZhMMZGr0rdrMdhR.1

    Hybrid:

    http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101crG0kZhRrMrhdzMM.1

In my experience, the Impale/Obli spec falls short of Rage for damage and the Hybrid spec above for survivability/utility, so why play it if you goal is to earn Valor as fast as possible?

  15. Nobody at all has any helpful insight?

Its either the build that I linked or a full Vengeance build that I will be running....just figured that Obliterate would help with the kiting issues.

    Here's my Helpful Insight:

    A. You want to be a full blown DPS in Warzones and rock peoples worlds gaining 8-10 medals a match:

    Play as Rage 03/07/31

    Vindicator PVP Set

    B. You want to be the teams main Ball carrier/Defender with viable dps gaining 6-8 Medals a match and basically becoming unstoppable and unkillable:

    Play as Veng Hybrid 14/27/0

    Warleader PVP Set

IMO those are the only two specs that work if you are Pugging Warzones and want to grind Medals/Valor most effiiciently.

The Immortal dps spec requires more support to gain Valor/Medals than the two I listed above and if you are pugging warzones if will be very frustrating for you.
