  1. Hi, im a returning player and was curious for feedback regarding 7.0 experience as arsenal merc. I accept that most likely we arnt the top dogs when it comes to 1v1, but how do we fare against matchups in general? Is the general consensus that melee wins over ranged in 1v1? What role do we play when it comes to warzones, arenas etc, do we have our "place?"
  2. The only thing to do after 50 is WZ for gear. Endless hours spent in WZs just for gear grinding. What makes it worse is I am on a PvP server and now open world PvP is also meaningless and dead.

Just how long do the Devs expect players to stay with a game with the end game being so boring and pointless?

The answer is Tera Online and GW2:D

My thoughts exactly my friend :D

  3. Deal with it.

I've been two hitted by a sniper. I play a sniper. They're not over powered. I just simply do no damage because this game is 100% gear based and about 0% skill based. Like all games that have a non-player generated bonuses. Like gear.

really.. is irony so hard to spot?

  4. Is OP really serious? Marauders is one of the strongest 1v1 classes out there at the moment. Why you ask, yes because of the good amount of defensive cd's you have. Time these cd's and you'll shine, you need them as Marauders heavily relay on them. You complain of damage, yet you can crit for around 6k on a 550 resilience target (happened to me on my BM sorc). Your class is fine, but of course you know better.
  5. Ok

This is getting ridiculous. Smugglers (gunslingers/scoundrels) literally have no abilities that are of ANY use in hutball.

Consider the empire sith. They all seem to have force push, and the mages seem to have force push and force speed. Even the mercenaries (not sure what archetype that is) have an aoe knockback with a movement impair after the knockback.

What do scoundrels get? a stun that ends on damage, and a stun that doesnt. Great.

PLEASE just disable force speed and the aoe knockbacks, they are just retardedly op in Hutball.

    >trying to kill the ball handler. Force speeds away. Great. He's won. Nothing I can do about it, unless VERY fast on the flashbang, and hoping its not on its ludicrously long cooldown.

    >Again, trying to kill the ball handler.. his mate comes in, aoe knocks all 3 of us off the metal walkway, into fire pits and the lower ledge. Again, he's won.

Consider this situation, happened to me at the end of last game.

it was 1-1, 15 seconds to go, enemy team had the ball, we just needed to be in possession to win. Nearly killed the ball handler, when low and behold, he force speeds away, and a mate of his jumps in and force knockbacks All 4 of us killing the handler. The enemy team win.

There is literally NOTHING we could have done in this situation.

Sure scoundrels get stealth, brilliant. What use is stealth in Hutball?

    Consider this:

If 4 enemies including the ball handler are running at a stealthed scoundrel on the highest walkway.. what do? Maybe he throws down a flashbang to aoe stun (Ends on DMG) for 8 seconds? Yeah great, then all 4 of them use their individual stun breaks and move on to kill the scoundrel almost instantly. Sure he could put bleeds on them, but that breaks his own aoe stun, rendering it useless.

However, if a Jedi had run at those 4 enemies? Different story entirely. He uses an aoe force knockback on all of them, scattering them all over. maybe one gets knocked into the fire pit, 2 get knocked onto ground level, and 1 gets knocked on to the ledge below.

What about a vanguard? uses the wire pull technique thing to pull the ball handler onto the other side walkway, or a lower walkway, or into a firepit, instantly breaking up the ball handlers escort group.

having the ball handler force speedy speed run away would make the smuggler useless for a good 10-15 seconds, depending on the amount of enemies already attacking him, excl. the ball handler.

Having the ball handler knock all of his opposition off a walkway to the ground level and other walkways? Easily a 10-15 second gap before the smuggler can make it back up there again!

That's not even including the amount of force chokes, force holds and stuns that jedi's/sith seem to get.

To all empire sith and jedi, think before you comment here. The equivalent skill to this would be letting the smuggler have a 10 second stun that doesn't end on damage and cannot be removed with a stun removing skill.

You can't just "remove" being thrown on to another walkway or level in the playfield, so why should other players just "remove" smuggler's ONLY usefull CC in hutball at the tap of a button.

Thank you. Constructive criticism only please.

Okay, theres two types of players. Group A is for those that gives constructive feedback based on reasonable reasons, while group B is for the opposite that dont have a clue. I dont know why I bother, but fine Ill take a bite.First off you're stating that Smugglers dont have anything to contribute with? Sounds to me like u just lost a match and went here to rage - when you rage you're not thinking straight. Furthermore you complain about losing in 4v1, of course thats meant to be happen, and of course you get thrown into the flame pit if youre stupid enough to stand at a spot making it possible. YOu even said it yourself, you dont even "know the empire classes", yet theyre mirrors, how can you even complain about something you have no clue of? What a waste of time.. back to watching Spartacus see yaaa!

Stop being a baddie. Every class is useful in X situation. It is quite clear that u seriously lack insight when it comes to class mechanics and group role.

  6. lendaguy has a fair point, if you want to try and prove him wrong, at least make fair points without making a fool out of yourself. Fact is, anyone can chose to not engage in battle in any warzone. There are no rules stating that you must participate. Sure, it could lead to a loss, but so what? Rules are rules, and leechers or call them whatever you want are free to do what they're doing atm. Yes it sucks, but BioWare are the ones that can change this (for example by adding an AFK debuff like you get in the spawn point).

Hypothetically speaking, this random guy could just be chosing to remain in stealth and standing still in a corner.

  7. Well Im mad at myself for being so naive after actually purchasing a Collectors edition for that price and sub for 6 months.. at least I get to hang around on these forums for another 5 months :D They gave us the wrong impression, for example the VIP store.. which was the selling point for my CE, yet none told us that others could get the VIP key by just paying 1 mill credits, which is redicilous. But hey, VIP store isnt any special anyway, another letdown :p
  8. I cant believe people are actually bashing this guy, or perhaps theyre just trolling since parts of this community is going downhill. He's giving constructive feedback, because to be honest (at least those of us who arnt blindfolded), the PvP system har so many flaws. Giving feedback is how things in some cases can change.

Ilum is lifeless and static, theres no purpose going there other than dailies. Gearing is based on RNG. Fun in PvP is limited, and when you're done with the dailies you get back to your fleet - and to do what? Just stand there by the vendors, having no social feats nearby, for example a dueling room.

Dont get me wrong, SWTOR is a good MMO if you look at it as a whole, but it cannot provide todays gamers what they expect from the PvP aspect. People are mad at PvP because SWTOR way of doing it is illogical. If you like the PvP system in SWTOR then you're a casual PvPer, plan and simple.

While you wait for GW2, try and check out Tera. U can pre order a version for 5 euros and that gives u access to all beta phases, starting in 17.02.12.

  9. Or maybe he has a life.

So basically anyone who did good in wow arenas had no life?

Basically the people not wanting to listen to arena-ideas are the same people who just suck at pvp, plain and simple. You have your HM/operations, let us have our form of arena system.

  10. SWTOR is a good MMO, no newsflash here, but if you play MMOs for PvP it seriously isnt worth picking up at the current state. Yes it's a new game, but hey, customers expect more from a game today than for 10 years ago - it's the same with buying a car.

It's boring and repetitive, why you ask, well take a look at ilum for instance.

Major faction imbalances isnt dealth with, a lifeless planet where a players location is being reported zone wide. Should you come to close inside the other factions base you die from this invisible wall of doom. Static walkers and air strikes with no real purpose further strenghtens the confusion of SWTOR's PvP vision.

It's supposed to be an endgame planet, judging by the lack of pvp content it's fair to say that its intention was to have lvl 50 players wanting to stay there at their endgame. As a result of these factors people leave as fast as they get their 30 armaments/kills, because there's no fun factor involved, theres really no reason for an average PvPer to stay in the zone, where death also has no penalty.

Standing outside another faction's base just to hug for kills is not world pvp, it's a form of meaningless work. If your stomach twists or your heartbeat raises then you're having fun.

I just got off ilum myself by standing there doing some random aoes to get the daily done in our operation group. And dont get me started with random RNG battlemaster bags.. What did I do after ilum, yes I was standing at the fleet since it has all the keypoints, thats where most players spend their time at endgame, yet there are no dueling areas here or social points. Again, it leads to logging off once the dailies are done, several of my friends do the same. Entertainment, where art thou.

I am also concerned because the features regarding future PvP content that was recently given out really wont cut it. Matchmaking is needed yes, but I am talking about PvP as a whole. The PvP impression given before launch is not on par with todays feature, it feels like I bought the wrong product. Perhaps you dont care, but this was my last attempt of feedback and I'll be picking up GW2 as soon as it hits, hopefully to find the MMO that does PvP right - also from the start.

    Ayronamic out

  11. Hey Bioware,

I feel like i'm living in a sick social experiment to find out how far someone has to be pushed before they believe they are being discriminated against.

    haha epic comment

  12. "We found out that PvP in ilum wasnt working as intended?" Still isnt. And the new invisible wall of doom (where u get instantly killed when entering rep base) is just a huge setback. I just dont get how they can fail so much at this open laggy wpvp zone. What else is there to do, o just stand at the fleets doing nothing. All I do these days is just log on for some dailies and then I log off again. GW2 next!
  13. you can just jump off the side of the railings and see you reaches the bottom first:eek:

tried this, but i got tired of dying.

Im really frustrated about the topic, Ive made 2 similar threads in the past and no reply from BW. I do not understand why they didnt implement this, it's so easy and will increase the fun at endgame. I tire of just standing there on the fleet, doing nothing.

  14. Most tend to spend their time on the fleets between their activities. I for example spend a lot of time next to the PvP vendors, while I wait for WZ queues. I could go to illum, but the lag there is horrendous (did I spell that right?). I ask myself the question so many times, why WHY cant we have a duel spot at the fleets? It's fun and social, everybody loves dueling spots, I tire of just stending there, nothing to do. Yes we have fancy planets/cities, but lets face it, none (lvl 50) goes there and there is zero social feats added at endgame - raid, WZ, dailies, thats it. Why this was never implemented is beyond my own belief.

When was GW2 launching again? Dueling spots. Please.

  15. From my experience on earlier MMOs, they all had their duel spots near t heir social hubs, close to where the majority was. Having an own area near these keypoints makes it easier and more popular to duel other players, especially when wanting to relax after a WZ, op, etc. Such spots where one can share knowledge is an important part of endgame, like it or not, why is it neglected in swtor? Yes Im talkin about the imperial fleet, it's small and has access to all the needed keypoints, making it the unofficial "capital" but you cant duel there. There might not be enough space to add that option, but perhaps there are other ways in solving it.

    Just my two cents.

  16. I love how even with videos showing it people still claim anyone that falls victim to the smugglers extreme *** OP self right now simply needs to learn how to play.

No matter how high your mmo skill may be or may not be there isn't **** you can do when you get stunned and in honest to god 3 seconds you are dead before you even stand up off the ground.

Then perhaps use your CC break? that is the first step in surviving a scrap/ops burst, as its all about the opener. Love it when some folks try and act all smart, the answer is right infront of your nose, but you just cant see it.

  17. The fleets are the keypoints where the majority spends their time when theyre not doing other activities, such as WZ, op's, etc. This is because the fleet has everything you need, also in a short distance. This leaves other cities, such as kaas or shadda empty. Personally I am under the impression (as a former wow, rift player) that being able to duel other players near your social keypoints is quite popular in general.

Why dueling on the fleets is not allowed is confusing to me, seeing as this is where people are "forced" to be at. I understand that the fleets have limited space, but overall this is due to a "poor" game design. This can still be changed tho.

    Just my two cents.

  18. I've been following TOR for about a year before its release. Before that I used to play WoW and Rift. What sold me on this game was the impression I got from the news of "great world pvp features".

Now after hitting 50 with nearly full champion I must say I am really confused, upset about my own ignorance in believing this game could offer the needs of a PvPer. Dont get me wrong, this game is great in so many ways, often much better than other MMOs - but the PvP content and system lacks.

Im not sure how it is on your server, but on mine theres huge balancing issues with republic vs empire. This is not necc BW fault, but the fact that their world pvp system works in the way it does, it further supports and encourages win-trading. One example being control points in ilum, where both sides are just watching each others as they shoot rockets. Nor is there any penalty for dying or decent rewards for kills.

Am I to needy, should I find myself another MMO (gw2, tera, archage?+) where world PvP is encouraged and rewarded? Are there any proof that they will improve world PvP or PvP in general? Im not gonna sit around and wait for a year, just like in Rift.

If only an MMO could come with entertaining world PvP (close to daoc or crowns of power), that doesnt treat it like a "side-thing".
