  1. Not really. Whatever the total number of subs, only a small percentage will be hardcore. Most people bought this game because of a love of all things Star Wars (apart from JarJar Binks, obviously!), so they want to feel they are part of that universe.

Then you get the people who just see 'MMO', not interested in the story, just want to speed-level to 50 and get all the best loot!

Honestly, if your think MOST people bought the game because they love star wars - I do hope your wrong, cause the game doesnt feel very starwarsy after the class quests are done - and that would lead to not only the hardcores, semi-hardcore, casuals with a sense of quality - but also all those star wars fans (who didnt play any mmo or online game before - cause that would put them in one of the other catagories too) dumping the game like hot potato.

  2. And yet developers keep catering to them. SW:TOR is very much a "Raid or Die" game, that also devotes enormous resources towards satisfying the "hardcore" PvP.

There is absolutely nothing harcore about the PvE or PvP in SW:ToR, might be the easist raids ive ever done and getting to max rank in PvP takes about 1 day in Ilum atm, this game is more casual friendly then WoW.

Unfortunately, this also mean that there is very little to do in the game - and even casuals would run out of content in a few months, hopefully they'll get some stuff added by then. 3small 8v8 warzones (smaller then the smallest Battlegrounds in WoW or Warhammer), raids that takes about an evning to finish (thats if you dont know the fights, cause then it takes a few hours) og OWPvP thats - well - so poorly designed there is no reason for it to be there.

  3. Oh thank God, I thought he was going to say that he was staying. :D

Not much chance of that happening - unfortunately SW:ToR lost alot of subscriptions, and I for one cannot blame them, the game is fun from 1-49 the first time on each side - after that the class quests doesnt make up for the boring side quests and at lvl 50 the game might as well stop as things look right now.

I do hope they get around to fixing it, just started my smuggler on rep side - and the story is nowhere as good as the agent story was, but its enough to keep me bussy until they fix the game or I stop ;)

  4. :D:D:D

    Hey guys!!!

Just for a moment, why don't we put the obscene, repetitive whining on hold and talk about what a REALLY fun game TOR has been so far! And how it's only gonna CONTINUE to get better! Think about that, eh? Wow!!! :D

My favourite thing?? Oh well it's totally Biowares attention to detail. I mean seriously. Every time my ship jumps to lightspeed I just stare out me window and beam at how awesome it looks as I whoosh from one planet to the next! Looks amazing!!! Excellent job, Bioware!

So without ANY crying about patch 1.1, faction imbalances or any of that, what has YOUR favourite part of TOR been so far?

    POST POST POST!

    :D:D:D

That I can tab out and do other stuff?

  5. So why shouldn't I just reroll Imperial?

Sticking with Republic seems like a mistake. Skills don't work properly compared to their "mirrors". Bugs not addressed in this patch. More attention was paid to the Empire experience. PVP is pretty much shot at this point unless we get a serious rollback. Republic population is already low and could potentially decline.

Swapping to Imperial would provide for a larger player base for grouping and ops, far less bugs, smoother experience.

Granted, moving factions won't help improve the imbalance problems, but we obviously aren't seeing Bioware doing anything to acknowledge or address them. Instead we get a patch with more content, when previous content is being ignored and not addressed. While I understand that the stock dev answer is: "Different teams of people are working on different things", this translates to me as a mistake in the allocation of resources.

So anyways, is there any reason to stick with the Republic?

Switch right now, I got no idea why you wouldnt, better do it now before there isnt enough Reps left to form a full Flashpoint grp..

  6. Fix the balance issues between the factions

Fix the ugly *** gear on Rep side

Fix the crappy animations on Rep side

Fix the poorly designed class quests (compared to Imps)

And more importantly: Learn from the great games of the past DoAC and Planet Side (which was pvp centric games tho) and add a 3rd faction, which is the 1 reason Ill switch to Gw2 the minut its out - I didnt like the whole "generic gear" thing where everyone has the same gear, but after this patch it will be the same in SWTOR in a few days.

  7. As an Imp my self I wont be resub'ing after this. The totalt lack of any foresight on Biowares behalf worries me, and I wont pay to beta test something that is ultimately broken - appearently beyond repair - I worked to get my Battlemaster Titel and today everyone in our guild that had time to play got theirs - even people who had hardly set foot in a Warzone before.

I just got my alt to 50 and prolly gonna use the rest of my play time to get battlemaster on it just incase they ever fix the game to be playable. I actually dont think ive ever played an MMO that failed harder then SWTOR.

  8. I tested myself on Helm of Graush so I know you're full of ****.

And after testing that one server you know everything! It goes up and down, but on some servers 20-30 reps are trying to fight back (and failing hard) giving the Imps about 20 kill pr. minut - go do the math. Not saying its "insane" valor, but its alot more then ya can make in Warzones. We have a guild made that made it from 32-63 today, granted his been standing in Ilum spamming AoE all day..

  9. I wont... I still like the game and honestly don't wanna play any other of the MMOs out. Also, with all the screen shots and videos being posted I'm yet to see one that documents the is insanely fast increase in valor. I'm waiting to be able to watch a video and clearly see someone just flying through levels in Ilum.

Until then it's hard not to think that this is all just trolling that got way out of control and everyone just believed what others were saying and cancelling without actual proof of any of it.

Well, dunno if its Insanely fast but:

Had 3 people in our guild hit 60+ today from rank 30 and lower... and a few that was already abit higher.

  10. Haha just for fun I searched your post history to see if you really were an operative. And a week ago you were saying you rarely break 6k.

I guess you decided to level the soon to be nerfed biochem this week and it made you really good at the game. Nice work, bro.

    Scroll down.

Its true, I got some gear and level'ed Biochem - why wouldnt I, the other tradeskills are useless even if they nerf Biochem (about 5% damage on gear + all the lame *** buff stacking). "Rarely" get 6k crits without gear and biochem, no other class can come even close to that...

Im not very good at OP tbh, but who cares, it doesnt require much skills on my part anyways.

  11. I prefer not to do that. But I think we just proved it's buff stacking the problem... not Operative/Scoundrels.

That's not to say I don't 3 hit non level 50's... or people who have crap for gear. I do get a 5k opener, 3kish backblast, and 3kish upperhand (if they all crit) vs non 50's or sorcs without their shield up. But those OP big numbers are not the class... its the buff stacking.

I agree that buff stacking is a major part of the problem - but it just goes to show which classes are already abit over the top, with consumable stacking and buff it becomes very obvious. I would prefer less burst damage and more utility - so the class requires abit more skill to play - cause it doesnt take much effort or skill to kill people as things are now - and Sages and Sorcs are just walking free solo kills. In its current form, a 4v4 deathmatch (if there was such a thing) would be won by 4 Ops/scrappers every time.

  12. You prove me wrong. I am in champion gear... only using the Columni Relic for 220 Surge and Crit... and I HAVE NEVER BROKE 6k DAMAGE IN A SINGLE HIT. NEVER. NOT EVEN AGAINST A LEVEL 10.

    You sir fail at PvP.

Try to pick up Biochem and some PvP stims - if ya can hit 6k without, you can hit about 9.5k with em... relic (use power not surge/crit) + adrenalin + stim + 15% damage...

  13. This statement is 100% COMPLETELY FALSE, so everything else you posted is most likely a complete lie and completely made up story. I am calling you out liar.

Go post your gross exaggerations elsewhere.

Prove me wrong then :p Never seen a 8-9k crit on an opner? Thats about 1/2 of most peoples healthbar and its doable with consumables on people in Champ gear - and if ya dont have about a GCD after being knocked down and getting up even when breaking it instantly with your CC-breaker, you're lucky or a liar.

    You sir fail at PvP

  14. That about sums it up, but then again WoW only had Warsong, Arathi and Alteric (not to compare games, just the number upon release) and we didn't see anything until the next expansion so I agree they get pretty annoying after a while.

Look at the size of those Battlegrounds compared to the Warzones - much better design and alot more fun all of them.

  15. Not really sure what to tell you here. You're in Huttball with other players. When he jumps you, CC break and then stun/slow/whatever him and let your teammates help? How is it that you were repeatedly being 1v1'ed by this guy?

The OPs you fight must be horrible, if you as a 50 OP with Biochem cant kill a none heavy armor class even when they use their CC breaker (which still gives ya 1-2 GCD due to the fact that they still have to stand up - gotta love broken mechanics) you fail.

Ive done 8k crits on my friend Merc friend in Champ/Battlemaster gear on my opner, and finished him off before he could stand up. OPs are extremely broken, our burst is stupid and so is our survival. I dont mind tho, with guard and a healer (how we normaly roll) I can butcher an entire team - fun times ;)

Consumables makes an already extremely unbalanced class much worse. I love how people always think that running to your team will help you in any way, cause it wont - break CC, restealth and finish the poor guy off. But even if it did, that means that noone can beat a OP 1on1, granted Ive got 6 pieces of battlemasters (with easy to get implants and ear), but ive never lost a 1on1 and can count on 1 hand the number of people who got away after my opner in the last two weeks... Used to play marauder, but my OP got more survival and a hell of alot more damage.

  16. Spec'ed from healing to damage on my main, and getting 10ish medals seems easy now, can still get 3 out of the 4 healing medals np, and getting 5-6 from damage now (solo, 75k, 300k, killblow and 2.5k (and sometimes 5k) + usually 2 from kills I didnt use to get (+ def medals).

In Average I get 3 more medals pr. fight as dps then as healing.

If only I could guard people for another 3 easy medals ;)

  17. Anyone seen sages and sorcs spamming noble sacrifice/consumption just to heal themselves in order to get the 75k healing medal and the 2.5k (and 5k with the rakata biochem)?

Seems like an exploit to get a couple more medals. Not a huge one, but an exploit nonetheless since it's not something every class can do. Unless, of course, I can start shooting myself in the foot and healing up.

Any healer can do this, unequipt your gear and put it back on, instant 10k damage you can heal away at... seeing as healing is the worst way to get medals, I say let em...

  18. Bioware never stated that this was going to be a PvP-emphasized game. So I really don't see why so many people are quitting, making the claim that they got it ONLY for the PvP, when Bioware never stated that PvP was their primary focus. They've said it numerous times, the STORY is what they're all about, not the PvP content.

You guys set the bar too high and you'll always be disappointed.

The story is bland, the HMs are done (and where easy), dailies are repetative and the Ops aint great (but ok) - and while not doing these things I like to do something that isnt as easy and repetative - PvP. If the little PvP there is worked - id be happy - but it doesnt - lag and pointless open world objectives that encourage "trading"...

Maybe in 6 months the game will be worth playing...
