  1. If the pc is still locking up it's still going to be due to the memory, the whole tri-channel / dual-channel issue, because of the way the mother-board is designed. Removing the 3rd stick only allowed the pc to partially use the ram but it still doesn't use it correctly due to the channel type. Your data that's passing through the ram is acting like a cork in a bottle.
  2. Hi again.

Now I removed the one stick, found a server without queue, and testet.

My computer seem to be much more stable now. The fans do not raise

and drop in rpm All the time.

I have turned All settings to max, just to try stress the system. My comp

    dont Care:)

I gues you found out, what my problem was, and thats so much apresiatet.

Now ill cross my fingers and hope i Can play swtor and have some fun.

    Best regards

    Gronemann :D

Awesome, glad it worked out for you ... keep an eye on stability for a couple days and I hope it continues to work great for you.

    GAME ON!

  3. I am hesitant to agree to that since the ones you purchased are manufactured and sold for tri-channel boards and I would hate to see your board get fried, I wouldn't chance it on my PC. This issue is a common mistake made when building a pc, I've done it once myself.

Your best bet is to play it safe and get your hands on ram that is manufactured and sold for dual channel boards.

I don't know where you're located but if you have an electronics store near by that sells ram you should be able to pick up something for 20 - 40 dollars.

    ** edit for spelling <sigh>

  4. I would take that ram back and exchange it for a dual channel kit of 2 matched sticks. Gotta match that up with the memory channel type of the motherboard which in this case for yours is a dual channel.

if you want 4 sticks you'll need two dual channel kits, though you really don't need more than 4gb of ram for gaming.

This is what your board supports:

    DDR3 2200(O.C.) / 2133(O.C.) / 1866(O.C.) / 1600 / 1333 / 1066

Let me know how that works out for you but I am pretty sure we just found your problem.

  5. I have had similar problems in the past with computers I have built, and I found that usually the easiest solutions is often the one that works.

I would pull out the video card (and sound card / nic if you have one) and reseat it in the slot to make sure it's all the way in, you shouldn't see much if any of the plated "teeth". Also do the same thing with your RAM and if you have the manual for your MB, make sure the ram sticks are in the recomended slots. Also if your video card has an exteral power connect, make sure that's plugged in correctly, you might even use a different power connector if one is available from your PSU.

It really sounds like something may not be seated correctly or be getting enough power.

Give it a shot if you haven't already and let me know if it works out for you.

**edit: Also, do you have 3 or 4 sticks of ram? I currently am assuming you have 3 since ram is manufactured as even numbered sizes (2G / 4G / 6G) That particular MB uses dual channel memory, so if you have 3 sticks, remove one of them. It's best to purchase the ram as a dual channel kit so they're matched.

  6. I played rift the first day. I had no lag and the game ran very smooth the entire time I played. They let the entire community enter at once and the game ran flawlessly all day. Sure there were queues, they got up to 5 hours+ .. thats unavoidable. People simply changed severs. They added new severs all day and playing the game was no problem. Later they opened free transfers so people could move as they pleased.

Letting only a small amount of people in at a time is not neccisary. Also they advartized 5 day early for pre-orders. This means everyone who pre-ordered should be allowed in on the 15th barring any unexpected problems.

The first 2 days will be for early pre-orders only. They didnt NEED to do it this way. They just CHOSE to do it this way. They need to accept the fact that a lot of people will be angy about it for now but will get over it as soon as they can play.

Edit* There seems to be a big contraversy over the numbers of Rift Orders VS. SWTOR... Remember a lot of people digitally purchaced Rift on the first day even. If someone has some real numbers please post them. I do believe Rift had a HUGE amount of players enter at once. Also people keep saying that SWTOR will have no queues. You do not know this for a fact. I don't see how staggaring will avoid the eventual queues on some servers. Again if im wrong provide facts, the trolling, bashing or blindly defending isnt accomplishing anything constructive.

Edit* Staggering a launch is the same exact thing as a queue.... think about it. If this game is so much more popular and has a bigger budget then RIft, well then they should be able to afford more servers correct? The thesis to my post is simple. It can be done different then they chose to do it.

Edit* It is impossible to start a new mmorpg and not have the problem of servers bieng over flooded and then eventually underpopulated...Thats what server transfers are for. You let people do it once a week and for free.

    What's this Rift?

Ok, seriously, did you not think for a moment that realistically that "game" is nowhere in the realm of comparison with SWTOR in pre-orders and hype? Of course the staggering needed to happen, the amount of over-caffinated players alone in the starting/entry level areas would probably crash the servers, I've got my energy drinks stashed away for when my early access chance comes.

    world = over :eek:

What better way is there that would allow those already playing to continue to do so in bliss with very little interruptions? I've been playing mmo's since UO and this by far the best process that ensures a smooth full launch on the 20th.

Just stand in line with the rest of us and be happy that at the very least you're allowed to start earlier than those that purchase on the 20th, it's a privilege to gain early access not a right.
