  1. The scaled ops will be playable by levels 50-65, with everyone getting bolstered to 65 stats as I understand it. While you wont have such an easy run through to train up people, at least newer endgame players will be bolstered and can still participate and be effective.

Thanks for the response. That's what I was afraid of, not having the added edge of being overleveled and probably overgeared at 55-60 for a level 50 operation. Now we'll be bolstered to level 65, but have to complete the operation on-level. That will certainly make things more difficult if not impossible.

Oh well, thankfully there's a ton of other things to do in-game.

  2. I'm the leader of a small, fairly new guild that would like to get into operations. The plan was to start with the old level 50 ops with level 55-60 folks in pretty good gear as a training plan. Now it seems that plan isn't going to be possible with the operations all tuned to level 65.

My fear is that this move by Bioware is going to prevent my small, fairly inexperience guild from experiencing any operations, and I'm not real happy about it.

Am I missing the boat on this one? Anyone else in the same predicament or have any suggestions?

  4. A few friends and I have come back to the game and we are looking for an active guild that does it all: a little RP, PvP, PvE (HM flashpoints, Operations, etc.), GSF, pretty much everything.

We would like to find a guild (Empire) that has 10 or more active players on at any given time (especially evenings - Eastern and Central timezones). We're looking for a high level of activity, organization (regular scheduled events), frequent communication, and a plan. We've all been in guild leadership in this game and others over the years so we know what it takes. We're ready and willing to jump in and make things happen.

  5. I keep seeing this topic pop up, and I simply can't resist finally adding my opinion.

No. If you want to play a different class, then play that class from it's humble beginnings. It's that simple, to me. The Advanced Classes are different classes. Take a Jedi Knight for example. The Advanced Class Guardian wears heavy armor, while the Advanced Class Sentinel wears medium armor. The have different weapon types or numbers, wear different armor types, have different skill trees, and play completely differently.

Obviously this is just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to one. There are far too many things I would like to see the developers focus on (more guild functionality, more RP functionality, more content) than to create an Easy Button for people who are unhappy with the class they chose to play.

  6. <Echo Company> is underway and progressing nicely. We still have room for more people, and are looking for active players of any class with an interest in RP, especially military-themed RP. If you're interested you can reply to this post, or contact me ingame (Drehker).
  7. Thanks for organizing this. Echo Company is a new guild, but we would definitely be interested in participating. Are there any ground rules? For example, how many members from each guild may attend? Are pre-summit agendas published as an outline to guide discussion?

I am relatively new to this server, and Echo Company is a new guild, but we would like to become actively participating members of The Ebon Hawk community.

  8. LOL because I'm sure you made blog posts about how cataclysmicly horrible that there was that RotHC had absolutely zero pvp content, amirte? I bet you were totally clutching your pearls about the health of the game back then when there was absolutely no bone thrown to pvpers at all...

No? Yeah that's what I thought. You didn't care because it didn't impact what you personally find interesting and now you're making the assumption that somehow you represent the wants and opinions of the majority of the player base.

You know what's totally hilarious about this? Every single group think that they're the most important to the success to the game. The PVPers are convinced that this game is failing and people are unsubbing in droves because of the problems with PVP content. Roleplayers were convinced that people weren't playing because of lack of chairs and chat bubbles. Carebears are so convinced that the future of the game is all about them that they absolutely lose their minds the first time ever this game has done something just for pvp and are screaming at the top of their lungs about how this game is DOOMED.

Get a grip people. None of you are special snowflakes and appealing to all three groups is what makes a healthy game, because *gasp* a lot of people like more than one thing. Some crazy weirdos even like to do all three.

Whatever. The vast majority of this game is designed for the carebear contingent. You've had multiple new flashpoints, operations, dailies, companions, events, and even an entire freaking planet made just for you. Whereas PVPers have had one new warzone, two dailies in the gree event, and three arenas since launch. Hell, the pvpers have actually had content taken away from them TWICE.

It's about damn time they threw us a bone. And frankly, if they lose subscribers because of this they would have lost them anyway. Because anyone who is so silly, whiny, and utterly entitled that they can't handle one PVP only content update when 95% of the game already caters to them - well then nothing Bioware does is ever going to satisfy them.

Ignoring your snide "Carebear" remarks and thinly veiled insults, the new flashpoints, operations, dailies, companions, events and even entire planets all have one thing in common: a continuation of the existing land-based combat system. A completely new, much sought-after freeflight space component to this game is unlike anything else. And it's a crying shame they decided to make it PvP only.

  9. Quite honestly, I don't get what exactly you were expecting.

Did you think they were going to discard the current game and turn it into a Space Sim?

    This is MORE than enough.

It may be MORE than enough for people who enjoy PvP. But it's effectively NOTHING for people who despise PvP and wanted more PvE space content.

  10. Some of you that talk about quitting any arena need to at least just TRY one. Solo queing last night, ended up in a 4 dps vs 2dps/2heals and my team, the one with 4 dps, won two VERY close matches. So close, that both times, the survivors were under 5% hp. It was a blast. One of the other guys on my team whispered me afterwards, saying he hadn't planned on staying in the match, since it was an arena, but saw me giving directions and talking strategy in chat, so he decided to give it a go.

He's now a fan of arenas. So please, just TRY one. If you still don't like it, QQ to your hearts content. But at least give it a shot.

(I feel like I'm talking to my children here, trying to get them to try something new I KNOW they're going to like, but they just won't do it....)

Thanks for the anecdote, but you lost me at "QQ..." You would have really been much more effective if you would have stopped at "just TRY one." and left the condescending comments out.

  11. I have been ambivalent about the addition of arenas because I'm just not interested in arena-style deathmatch PvP. However, my ambivalence has vanished since I am now forced to enter an arena warzone.

Like others have said in this thread, if I am put into an arena, I will leave. I apologize in advance to those left behind, it's just not my cup of tea.

    Separate the queues!

  12. Echo Company is a new company-strength Spec Ops unit formed by General Garza to resist the Sith Empire throughout the Galaxy. Operating outside the purview of the Republic Senate and the Jedi Order, Echo Company is not limited by the constraints imposed on the Republic by the Treaty of Coruscant. Echo Company is composed of highly trained and extremely dedicated Republic Special Forces Troopers, and Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan has informally authorized individual Jedi Knights and Consulars to assist. Many independent ship captains and smugglers, with their own motivations for resisting the Empire, have also pledged their assistance to Echo Company.

Echo Company is a new RP guild with a military-rank structure and with military RP objectives, however we recognize the value of cooperating with Jedi and Smugglers. This is not boot camp, no one will be in your face with spit flying.

We are seeking active casual players of any level (we are mostly lower level players) who are looking for a newly-established guild to grow with. Several leadership positions are available. Reply here or look me up ingame (Drehker - The Ebon Hawk server) for an invitation or more information.

    For the Republic!

  13. We are in the process of restructuring and plan to begin actively recruiting and hosting guild RP events next week. Several leadership positions are available for anyone interested in helping start and grow a new guild. Contact me by replying to this post, via private forum message, or ingame (Drehker).

  14. Nope, but it would probably take me months to notice he's missing since companions mean so little once you're 55. But if some random quest that I pay no heed to were to reset itself, I wouldn't give a ****. It's a few hours to get HK...you guys will be ok.

Heck...all you folk who procrastinated should group up and get this done TODAY! Imagine the slap in the face to Bioware that would be huh?! Here they're all laughing at you having to redo the quest...imagine their horror if all of you suddenly had it done tonight. Think about it!!!

You really should just **** and get out of this thread if this is all you have to contribute. Thanks.

  16. We changed our name because we wanted to, not because we were forced or strong-armed into it. We were happy to it, and hope we would get the same respect if we ever decide to branch out to another server.

Alpha Company, welcome to The Ebon Hawk!

  17. I am pretty sure you guys have not only seen Alpha Company around on Jung Ma, but as well read through their manual. There you will as well find in the bottom written that everything that goes under Alpha Company is copyrighted. This doesn't necessarily mean "I'm going to use it anyway, just because they tell me that I can't", but it's actually considered as a breach of copyright law which can lead to a 250.000 USD fine and 5 years of federal prison. To avoid any confusion, I suggest you to use your own name of an eventual trooper based guild.

I have never seen Alpha Company on Jung Ma because I have never played on Jung Ma. I have never read through their manual, so I have never seen the copyright notice. In fact, until today I never knew there was an Alpha Company guild on any server in this game. Alpha is the phonetic pronunciation of the letter A in most military organizations, and Alpha Company is a generic way to say A Company. I chose Alpha Company when I chartered the guild on The Ebon Hawk server because it was available.

    Any other questions?

  18. ::Trooper Viike Galon Reporting.::

We take tremendous pride in the name "Alpha Company", and we would hate to see it be ruined.. I hope that this issue might be resolved promptly.

    How would it be ruined?

  19. We considered creating a branch guild on EH months ago, just because we're based from Jung Ma it doesn't mean we can't also be on other servers. I'm just hoping to avoid any confusion.

Roger that. Contact me in-game (Drehker) if we need to discuss.

  20. This guild is NOT affiliated, in any form, with <Alpha Company> or <ACoy> from Star Wars Galaxies or Alpha Company on the server Jung Ma.

This is a true statement. That's why the original thread is posted on the Guild Recruitment forums for The Ebon Hawk server of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

    Thanks for catching that! :D
