  1. I definitely agree that female hairstyles are definitely a disappointment. But then so are male ones. Hairstyles in TOR in general are pretty terribad.

I don't think they can do high heels because they'd have to redesign female toons from the waist down to implement them.

There aren't any metallic dyes, just pieces of armor that happen to be metallic and accept dye (think the Dread Forged/ Dark or Light vendor models), so actual metallic dyes would be lovely!

  2. They're certainly better than the Dark/Light command vendors. Those are a little ghetto for me with the flashing lights.

Got the Tromper a while back now, so it's barbie time.

I can't speak for the Pub side though as I haven't got a toon past Rise of the Emperor just yet.

Fun fact: Those "ghetto" armors use the same models as the most difficult to obtain gear SWTOR has ever had. You should be thankful you can obtain the skins without having to smash your face into Nightmare DF/DP.

  3. Prior to today, you could get about 18 crates at rank 300 CXP from doing Yavin, Ziost, Oricon, and CZ-198. It would take you an hour total for all four planets (Black Hole and Section X are only worth doing on a class that can stealth because the endless mobs massively slow you down).

After the update, doing all four planets, you will get 0.37 crates per day.

I guess I'll have to go back to farming the living **** out of the Fractured uprising. It takes approximately 12 minutes for ~2000 CXP.

  4. Yup...typical for any run of the mill crappy sword and sorcerer game that floods the market looking to steal a few w0w players...but this game isn't one of those.

Except it is. At launch it was mechanically identical to World of Warcraft, apart from having even fewer systems.

  5. I just have one comment about the hair--we'd better not be stuck with it. Given that the elements have been introduced in the game, that hideous hair-style can be offered as an alternate look for Theron. For those of us who now find him ugly and want his vanilla hair-style returned when we get him back--it had better be an option.

It is good to know when this Traitor arc will be resolved; hopefully "early 2018" means by the end of February at the latest.

Fun fact:the only difference in his hair between original and in 5.5 is that the sides are shaved. The top is still the same fauxhawk it always was.

  6. I think the wording is required. Is it games that "target/have main audience children" or "any game playable by someone under 16yo" ? I'm going to guess it's the former, in that case I highly doubt swtor's target audience is children, they have a minimum age requirement and it isn't an R rated game obviously, but I don't think kids are the target audience.

SWTOR is PEGI 16+ in the EU, although after the stupendously moronic brexit I don't think it has a rating in the UK anymore because they haven't set up a ratings body to replace PEGI's rulings. That being said, is there someone across the pond who can enlighten us? Would people 16-17 fall under "children" in the UK?

If so, the Cartel market would have to be converted into 100% direct sales. Which would be kind of a win-win for both players and EA. We can directly get what we want, but EA can charge exorbitant amounts (2000+ coins) for even bronze armor sets :p

  7. I dont know why people say BC is 'almost dead'. It is not, its held a pretty healthy population. I can make a new toon and step into the starter zones to see 30 to 50+ others in general chat, much like harbinger when I am there infact. The GTN is also healthy with items from new CM packs etc, another good sign its not so dead as people claim.

I think when people say dead, they think they're talking about population, but really mean community. The playerbase is fine, but no one interacts.... so it seems like there aren't many people.

  8. Would it make sense for my Jedi Consular to be around 7 years old when she was taken by the Jedi? I know it's ultimately up to me but I want things to make sense. She was 17 when she started her adventure on Tython and should be 28 (Not sure if I should count the years in carbonite or not) by the time of the Iokath story. I feel pretty weird about this when I found out how old Nadia is. She is apparently older than my character yet her padawan? Do Jedi even do this type of thing?

Well I mean what age you set for your toon now is up to you, but the Consular has been in training since at least the age of four. The very first conversation, Yuon Par mentions that the PC was stronger in the force at age 4 than she was at 14.

  9. I mean realistically, if you left Revan dead for reals at the end of the Foundry and turned the Revanites into "fanatical servants of the Emperor" - we know those exist from the Knight story chapter 3 - Then your post's TL;DR is "remove all the stupid parts of KOTX." And I'm ok with that.

I do have to say though it is my opinion that the in-game treatment of the Dread Masters arc is superior to your suggestion.

  10. That makes no sense. They are months out from doing it and it’s just a name change.

It's happening in 34 days. That's not months away. Second, the name of a server isn't just some label that shows up in-game. It's the physical, coded-in name of the server. To change the server name now, they'd have to go through the code and find literally every reference to that server and change it to whatever you want it to be instead. Because if they missed even ONE thing, your entire game breaks.

Every time your game contacts SWTOR's server-side, it uses the server name. Every ability use, every movement, ever mouse click. Every time you try to sell something, move something in your inventory, buy something, type in chat. Every time you try to craft something, run a crew skill mission, or access the GTN. Every time you enter a phase, start a dialogue/cutscene, or try to group up. Everything.

If they miss even the single most innocuous, oblique mention of the server name, the one time your client needs to use that to contact it but finds "Hot Prospect" instead of "MUUUU SERVUH NAME SHOULD BE CHANGED" your client will crash. Whatever you were trying to do will break, likely permanently until Bioware fixes it, and the character you were on will likely be unable to be logged into until its fixed. And if you were messing with some kind of personal asset, such as a currency or an item, it will disappear because it will be sent to a location that doesn't exist. And there won't be a record of it because there was no destination to a) record the reception or b) send a confirmation back.

So maybe, just maybe, stop crying over a ridiculous server name?

  11. Oh, I wasn't even aware conquest boost existed. I'm talking about exp, Valor and cxp.

Yea, I meant the CXP boosts. There's no planetary conquest boost, but the one hour version of the CXP boost is +25% for one hour while the superior one is +100% for three hours. It's an anomaly, though. Al other boosts are just 3x duration for the superior one.
