  1. I like the 505 series but I think it's too much cybernetics. Looks like a robot that found an arm and part of a leg and decided to wear/integrate them. Just a suggestion redo the torso so that it looks more organic than cybernetic in the waste area, same with the helm's neck area.
  2. This is a good point, my problem is the loss of good guide like "sith assassin for noobs" where find build rotation and general information. Noxxic and sithspecs are the only way for peeps like me to learn something about a class. I am lever 24 sin and i am darkness because seems is the only tree viable for leveling (pve quest over all). I really need help and the only information i found come from website like noxxic and sithspec. Did you have a good build/rotation to level up less slow then darkness? thanks in advance:)

Go with what this guy said.

Also if you click the link in his sig you should find yourself in a more theorycrafting forum, or at least that's what it looked like from a quick once over.

    you level better as deception!

DPS specs usually lvl faster and once you get a healer companion you should have even more up time.

  3. I'd take either of those sites with a grain of salt. They both have darkness specs with a talent that reduces the force for maul and yet in their rotations they never mention maul.
  4. So now they make Heroic Space missions not worth doing no elite comms such bs :( instead they give you the worthless basic comms what loosers they are sad :(

By your lack of punctuation all I can gather is that you are not happy about about the comms you get from space missions, so you are now a sad looser.

  5. All I can say about any reviewer is that their reviews are useless, good or bad. I know what I like and will try something that piques my interest. If I don't like it, I don't play it. SW:tOR for me is a fun game. But don't take my word for it, because I'm not you.
  6. SWTOR was my first MMO (other than City of Villians that i played for a couple days when i was younger), and I found that MMO's are my personal genre of choice (With RPG's closely behind). I've been playing it since launch, and haven't really played any other game since I began (I consider myself a HC gamer, and usually stuck to MMO's and console gaming other than the occasion SC2 venture). I have purchased wow, with all expansions (Minus the new MOP expanion) and have it installed, and have the Rift demo, Runes of Magic, and Guild Wars 2 purchased/Installed, and have heard of, but never pursued others such as D&D, LOTRO, STO, EVE, and World of Tanks, City of Heros/Villians, Conan Online, runescape, and Champions online... but havent played any of them yet because I play SWTOR still. I have created toons on all these games, but havent acutally played them at all, but at any time I could jump on and begin.

Basically what I'm looking for is either, what makes this game stand out above all its other peers, or, if there are better MMO's than SWTOR, what makes specifically makes great in your opinion that SWTOR would benefit from.. I think SWTOR is an amazing game, and have heard its current #2 number of subscribers, but since I'm new to this genre I don't have any other MMO's to compare it to.

How good an MMO is really just based on your own personal opinion. For me I switch between several. Swtor, WoW, EVE, and The Secret World. And when I'm feeling real nostalgic Ill fire up a MUD client and play Medievia. All have their good points and their bad points but it comes down to how you feel about the game.

  7. Been 8 months lol. and far as I know it only require adding a vendor that let the player access the character creator editor that already in the engine with an Extremely limited character palette . The game simply checks for values if it alien , say alien equals =2 rather than 1 for human , and gender is another value since we don't have species specific dialogue , Then the character creator changes the value and the game respond to the value . Pretty simple really The game read the value so they tell the correct dialogue choice response . At least that how it worked on the old never-winter nights and aurora engine of Kotor .

A New function that doesn't exist in the game engine require time money and alot of code ? Existing functions ,no lol that's free almost.

It has to deal with more than just the game engine. You do realize that the game is very database dependent right? And you don't want to F up the character database because if that happened there would be a big ole charlie foxtrot.

  8. the devs knew they were competing with well established mmos so I don't buy the "too new" excuse.

It's a very valid excuse as the majority of the development is getting the game up and running. A lot of what you see in the game had to be created from scratch. Think of it like this, the game engine is the skeleton, the development process is what was needed to add the organs, the flesh, the nervous system, so on and so forth. Now that the new creation is walking, BW is working on creating "clothes" for it. The wardrobe atm is slim but over time it will be robust.

  9. As the topic states, do you think these are likely to hit the cash shop within, say, 6 months of the F2P model launch? And do you feel they are worth up to 15 dollars to do so?

-Automatically leveling your character to the max level

-Switching your Character's Faction (swapping to opposing mirror class)

    -Advanced Class Respec

-Companion Parties (up to 3 Companions out at a time)

-Purchase of in-game credits (let's say 15 bucks gets you 10,000,000 credits)

Feel free to add your own wildly speculative and outlandish possibilities for the Cash Shop as well. These are just a few off the top of my head that I think are not Pay to Win, but are just kind of ridiculous but I fully imagine people asking for.

    1. No, unless they already have a character of that class at max level on their account

    2. Yes

    3. No (see number 1)

    4. Yes, though could be frustrating as computer AI usually isn't as good as human intelligence.

    5. Yes, as long as they put a price cap on items sold in GTN

  10. LOL, I absolutely love how the word "LAZY" is like the new ultimate burn here on the forums.

NEWS FLASH: We are all sitting on our big fat butts playing a video game LOL. I mean ***really****

Playing the same story over and over again accomplishes nothing. Killing the same 10 people over and over again on 4 maps (4 maps lol) for days on end accomplishes nothing. It's a game. If you think you are accomplishing anything beyond entertaining yourself then I pity you.

Not using "LAZY" as a burn. Part of a game is also the challenge, even if the challenge to overcome, is repetition. And part of the entertainment is the sense of accomplishment of conquering those challenges. But if you just want to "push" a button so you can have a new class at level 50, that is being lazy.

  11. Yesterday's patch should have came with something more than a pet and comms. At the very least, it should have came with some sort of information about 1.4 release date, perhaps some answers to what is in store for the game in the very near future. Something to generate some sort of interest in the game in light of the sharp downturn of subs just in the last couple of weeks.

But... "Nope. Here is a few comms. And a pet. This should hold you over another couple of months"...

For months, I've blasted the haters of this game because I love it so much...but I'm finally starting to crack. I'm beginning to get real impatient.

Yeah, I know...this month is supposed to be when F2P happens and we supposedly (?) get 1.4. But we all know that August means October in BW's interpretation of the calendar.

Wut? I don't follow stuff all that much, but even I know F2P doesn't happen until the fall, and given the pattern of any MMO they won't really give much information of an upcoming patch other than tidbits.

  12. They won't because they will lose more if they do.. Breaking the game is not a good way to make money.. The advent of the cash shops doesn't mean they are going to change fundemental mechanics of the game..

You all can believe what you want.. Reducing the number of clssses by half will kill the game..

As I have said.. This issue has been discussed countless times.. It is a dead horse at this point.. It isn't going to happen.. Cash store or not.. Allowing AC respecs will truely kill the game.. They will lose money if they allow it..

I disagree, it's not a dead horse, it's been beat so much it's more like a pile of glue.

  13. Hi!

Well yea, I'd like to hear some inputs on idea why they took this engine :) At first I thought it's because it's hard to render 20+ individual characters at the same time and the Heroengine could take it. But after playing Ilum we all know that this isn't true. HD 6870, I5-2500k, 12 GB Ram and an SSD gave me 5-15 FPS.

Is it because it looks amazing? Well nope, it doesn't. it looks really bad.I mean, Tera Online also can't handle 20+ characters but at least it looks freaking amazing. Also Battlegrounds work fine in Tera Korea. No FPS-problems around. SWTor looks kinda bad, it looks like WoW pretty much with the difference that WoW has better lighting, shadows and less pixels.

So, why did Bioware took the Heroengine, what you think? Money? Star Wars with Unreal Engine would have been freaking amazing.

At the time, it was the best engine for what they needed. People seem to forget that MMO's take years to develop so they can just go willy nilly changing the engine because it's the latest and greatest. The engine is the ground upon which an MMO is built. Change that engine and you most likely have to start over.
