  1. I understand they CAN speak Huttese, but in a base of Hoth, there was, what, 50% of the Chiss there speaking ONLY Huttese.

They should be able to speak basic in priority, right? when they speak only in Huttese they sound like uncultured aliens who don't even know something as simple as Basic.

That's how I see it. Chiss people are supposed to be more clever than that.

In the books of T. Zahn (Outbound Flight) the Chiss could speak Minnisiat to be understood by the humans speaking basic, but they didn't speak Huttese at all. But I guess it was too hard for Bioware to do voice acting in something else than Huttese and Basic, they didn't bother creating Minnisiat or any other alien language that would fit better.

I don't know, it bothers me to see a clever-looking Chiss girl officier speaking like a Twi'lek prostitute we can meet in Nar Shadaa... with the same kind of whiny voice...

I think you're missing the point. If most of the Chiss on one planet are talking Huttese, it's most likely because they've been placed in the same sector before being deployed to Hoth. One of the Chiss, as mentioned earlier, said the Ascendancy sent him to Hutt Space to serve and they got taught Huttese because that was the ruling language in that sector.

Now, following that logic, most people from his outfit and anyone else that served there would pretty much only know Huttese fluently, and if they get redeployed (as squads often do in times of war..) then they went as a unit where mostly all had limited knowledge with basic.

The actual explanation is that BioWare probably cut the budged for voice actors, but quite frankly, there is a logical explanation behind it. Well, far more logical than some of the other stuff around, at least.

  2. Act 3 and the Interlude both have things on the more intense side of things. The Empire's pushing for control of the Core Worlds while at the same time:

falling apart with the Emperor dead, Malgus forming a new Empire, and the Dark Council sinking into in-fighting.

This is only partially true because

The Emperor is actually not dead.

The Sith Warrior quest revolves around becoming the Emperor's Wrath (which is the position Scourge had), leading up to the encounter in the Dark Council room where the Council acknowledges you, the Sith Warrior, as the Wrath.

Shortly after you complete that quest, you get a mail from a member of the Emperor's Hand (servants). He basically says that the Emperor is out of commision because the Jedi attacked the true Voice of the Emperor, basically a person possessed with the mind and spirit of the Emperor, and killed the Voice. This in turn caused the Emperor a major blow and now he's forced to rest up.

It is, however, stressed that he's alive and they never killed the emperor's true form, and I'm fairly sure the second mail sometime later from said member of the Hand says he's recovering well.

  3. I've only completed the Inquisitor and Warrior storylines so far, but I think in the end, I preferred the Warrior storylines.

While the Inquisitor, as a whole, had a better Chapter 1 and large portions of the Warrior storyline was a bit boring, the Inquisitor had dull Chapters 2 and 3 in comparison to the Warrior who really picked up around Tatooine/Alderaan and out Chapter 2 and 3.

Quite frankly, I ended up really loving the Chapter 3 arc for the Warrior very much because it was well written and genuinely got me interested to push on to.. finish things.

  4. Well, as a Juggernaut:

    1: Take Vette

    2: Guard on Vette.

3: Stand far away from the Avatar.

    4: Force Charge in.

5: Burn the Avatar as fast as you can, gathering as much threat as possible.

6: Interrupt the first Force Storm

7: Run to a pillar and LoS the Thundering Blasts and interrupt / Force Choke / Force Push the Force Storms

8: Taunt the Avatar whenever Vette takes aggro.

That should be plenty enough to finish it.

Or you could just straight up nuke it down with interrupts and cooldowns, which I personally prefer.

  5. As a fresh 50 immortal Juggernaut, I was taken offguard over how much of a truck this guy is and how I couldn't do any of my usual tricks due to his buffs. In the end, I got torn to shreds having exhausted anything I had, using a well geared Quinn (which is my usual questing companion since he actually makes me immortal... until this guy <_<), but it just wasn't enough and I died about 6000 hp away from the kill.

Amusingly enough, when I just probe-ressurected and got the chance to get the first attack, he went down very easy. I didn't even use stimulants or anything the second time around, so he was a pushover at that point.

All I can say is... they're meant to be soloable and yes, some of these encounters are tough. What I can say is that this is definately harder than the last story boss, and I really encourage you to do this on your own. These class quests are meant to educate and test your personal skill, and if you can't do it, you're either not geared, preparred or good enough to do it. Remedy the shortcoming and return when ready. :p

  6. I was dissapointed with Ashara at first as well, but that's mostly because I didn't realize the gear issue.

Played to 50 using her as a lightning sorcerer, and ever since I geared her up with bought modable lightsabers, some proper modable gear and some other stuff I bought on the GTN, I was shocked over how efficient she was for me.

Gear her right and she's a beast.

  7. The level forty PVP gear looks pretty amazing. A question about orange items, though - is the armor rating related to the armor mod, or is it an inherent aspect of the item? I have the black talon marauder's robe on my jugg right now, and I'm hoping I can continue to use it for a long time (assuming I upgrade the mods whenever possible).

It depends on the armor mod.

Hilts and armor mods are unique in the sense that the hilt also give you weapon DPS as well as the stats on the mod, and the armor mod also gives you armor rating to go with the stats on the mod itself.

  8. I'm a level 44 Immortal Juggernaut and I've had no problems doing any fight so far in the game with a DPS companion (Vette, then Jaesa).

The trick is to stay alive, and that's one of the things Juggernauts do best.

Some of the fights tend to require a medpack, which is easy since I get tons while questing so I don't have to buy them, or that you're good at chaining certain abilities and using your entire arsenal fully. I'm going to be a happy panda once Force Push resets Force Charge though, that's going to give me even more time to nuke the elite once I start the fight. :p

  9. This colored my bias against the show until I was at a friend's house and he had it on, and I watched a guy get taken out executioner style on Cartoon Network.

That network is really letting some dark stuff air (not that I'm complaining).

You think that's bad? Last week's episode had 4 people, as in living humans, get decapitated at the same second by a duel-wielding lightsaber tornado.

You see the burn marks on their neck, and when they slump down to the ground, you can see their head start sliding off.

Definately not a show aimed directly at kids anymore.

In my eyes, there's enough bad episodes to not make it a must, but it's still quite great and it's in general far better than the prequels, if that's anything to go by.

    I'd recommend it, easily.
