  1. Yes, I am complaining about shutting the game down WAY TOO MUCH! I want a discount every time it is.

Then you shouldn't play this game. If they don't do maintenance, and introduce the fixing of major bugs, then your game experience will quickly degrade. Any new MMO that isn't on the ball with timely maintenance and bug fixing can expect to not retain a player base, when that happens, the game is a failure.

  2. I am getting sick of all the US ppl who have a comment of every EU post being made.

Everytime a EU player make's a comment for example about maintenace we get tons of US ppl whining , stop complaining you only live in europe.

or europe has nowhere near the playerbase US has so shut up.

I find it quite offending that those ppl can just do this on the side, we are ppl just like the ppl in US, we pay money just like them so whats this crap about?

If ya dont agree with us europeans then dont comment? we dont flame about US we dont treat a other continent like they are trash so i suggest you ppl start doing the same and leave every1 in his or her value.

(i been looking for a european side wich is active, point outs are apreciated)

Instead of inflaming all the Americans on the board, who bring logical, if harsh points, how about simply making a post telling them that they should consider the fact that European players paid the same amount (perhaps more depending which country you're actually in) as the US players. You're just asking to be flamed, and all the American kids you likely just inflamed, won't give a hoot about you or the other players in Europe.

  3. Hey all, wanted to let you know we're aware of this issue.

We're tracking down the details with the development team and will give you an update soon - hopefully later today.

Thank you so much. This is what I wanted, and as long as the relationship between the players and the devs are good, i'll be more than willing to weather through any hardships we all may experience in this wonderful game.

  4. Honestly, the majority of consumers are either stuck in the stone age still using DX9 cards ( like the diehards who still think XP is a premium OS ) or have upgraded to more recent to DX11 cards. DX10 as a whole never really got that much of a foothold outside of the 8800/9000 series for Nvidia and whatever the equivelant cards were for AMD, and they probably wouldn't alienate very many leaving DX10 completely out of the equation since all DX10 cards still support DX9.

DX11 just adds so much more to the table in terms of functionality and performance that it really makes no sense to not have it in a game released in 2011/2012.

It's because consoles, which the majority of gaming are done on at the moment, still use DX9, once you see the next gen AKA current gen come out, you're going to see many more PC games take advantage of modern tech, of course they won't be taking advantage of the far more advanced stuff that PC will be using by the time the next gen of consoles go commercial.

  5. I don't even know where to start. "envious people who want everyone to play with terrible settings". what? you are out there man. lol

Why don't you try? Just choose something to argue against, you have already shown that you are more than capable of putting up an argument sp please do so, how about starting with the fact that graphics are SCALABLE! You can play with me in a group in TOR with low rez graphics while I could use high rez graphics.

  6. Do you honestly think people would be like, "Well at least I can play on low! Sure wish i could use those medium and high settings, but my computer cannot handle it! So glad my friend can though!"

    lol..seriously dude..

That is moot if high is only low at best in the first place. And you know what? Yeah, they SHOULD be happy that their friend who has a much nicer PC than them can take advantage of it. Why should a company cater to envious people who want everyone else to have to play with terrible settings because they chose to stick with an ancient computer? A rig that can play those high end games aren't even that expensive, I could build a system that can run Crysis 2 with DX11 settings for less than 800 dollars, even less, I could probably squeeze 700 or 600.

  7. Are you forgetting that those are single player games or SPs with a multiplayer element? Massively Multiplayer Onlines will never have those kind of graphics, period. Never, ever, ever. No company would be dumb enough to alienate half its customer base.

This is a flawed argument. You won't alienate your base if the game, like all MMOs have graphic settings that scale the game. Low can look like WoW and run on the oldest settings. Medium can have more bells and whistles and run on a more modern system. High can have all the wonderful modern graphics we enjoy. Hell you don't even have to do it that way. You can specify each feature and detail what it does.

So you have an PC that will run X modern game fine save for the insane physic engine that makes your CPU cry? Fine, turn it down a bit. Those soft shadows killing your game? No problem we've got lower shadows than that, or turn them off! The lighting is killing your FPS? No problem we have HDR to bloom to none at all, make a choice.

Bottom line, graphics scale and the above argument doesn't make much sense.

  8. Graphically the same where? On their end?

Read these words carefully. i upgraded. it looks better. end of story.

No, graphically the same on the screen you're looking at that displays the game.

Now please do me a favor, and read these words carefully: The game's graphics AKA the textures, lighting, how much grass you see at a distance etc. Have not changed at all, they are exactly the same.

The performance of the game AKA how fluid animations are, the frames per second, sound matching what you're doing, better combat because you aren't playing a snapshot, etc are the only things that will improve because you upgraded your CPU, fans, memory, etc.

  9. I see all that text but you are simply restating what I said like 20 pages ago. I said I upgraded my computer's parts and now they are running the game great. What more needs to be said? Why do you need to go on and on about the computer parts I upgraded?

You are going in circles my friend ^^

No i'm not, you think your game looks better because you upgraded the hard ware, what i'm telling you it is graphically the same, it merely performs better, there is a key difference between performing better and looking better.

  10. Im not sure where you are getting this logic but ok ^^

He's getting that logic from fact. You can only get what was designed for the game. The only way a game will LOOK better opposed to simply performing better is if you couldn't use certain features in the game because your old card didn't support it but the new one does. So for example, let's say I have a card from last year, that has all the modern technologies to run this game, yet the game doesn't perform very well because the card isn't powerful enough to run it any better than 5 FPS, so I can see all of the bells and whistles of a maxed out game, but it's more like a snap shot because of the horrendous FPS.

Let's say I play this same game on a card made 8 years ago and doesn't have support for lighting shaders 3.0 and above, etc. When I play the game, aside from running badly, I won't see the awesome lighting effects and higher textures that it's capable of, but when I upgrade to a modern card, I would, and there would be that massive of a difference. You said you didn't upgrade your video card, so any graphical improvements are in your head, it's ok, happens to all of us at least once when we spend hundreds to upgrade our rigs. What you are seeing is much better performance AKA much higher FPS, which makes the game run far smoother, and the animations look better, etc.

  11. THis is the biggest thing for me. We need an official answer on this, not some cryptic patch that changed medium to high. We're not daft.

If you are so knowledgeable, enlighten us. Otherwise please vacate the thread.

Precisely, if it simply isn't technically possible anytime soon, then say so, but don't treat us like idiots. Relationship between player and dev is incredibly important in an MMO. Those of you who accept it, and feel Bioware doesn't owe us a single word on it, are the reason that MMOs degrade in quality. How else are we to hold them accountable? They have to think of customers as share holders, because we are giving you a constant stream of money. If they treat this like any old product, sell it to me, and not worry about the after because they got my money, then they don't deserve my sub.

  12. I enjoy this game, have had a lot of fun with it so far. As of now however, I won't be resubbing because of issues like this. Not because it exists however, it's not realistic for there to be no glaring issues when the game isn't even a month old yet, however I the way Bioware has treated the community through beta and up till now, tells me I won't be able to enjoy a good relationship with Bioware, and there is nothing worse than playing an MMO where the devs give off the aura that they don't give a damn.
