What about changes to the fact you can get force related amps on a non-force using char? This can also happen in reverse (tech amps on force user)

This thread has gone way off the rails, pardon the pun.
To address the OP, Grade 7 Space Missions are not TOO HARD, they're just HARD - hence the term 'heroic'.
But they are doable. Like many others, I tried and tried, failed over and over again, and then one day I got it right - using my abilities, rolls, and learning how the missions work and when to react. And then completed all the bonus missions on them. 100% Republic, 100% Empire. I put effort in, and eventually it paid off.
It's a mixture of perseverance, practise, skill, timing and a dash of luck. There is little room for error, you have to be focused.
It's like arcade machines where there was always this one kid who always had his 3 initials at the top of the scoreboard. I don't think it's fair to say that because some people can't complete them it is therefore discriminatory... We're all good and bad at certain things. And accepting this is key to your enjoyment of the game and managing your frustrations with the game.
There are some achievements you're never going to get; either because they are time-limited, no longer available etc. and there are some achievements you're not going to get simply by virtue of being you; you don't do Ranked Warzones, you don't do NiM Operations. Or you're just not wired that way, your heart isn't in it. Rather than bemoan it, do your best, have fun and don't dwell on it!
Fun, right? That's why we play.
OP here
I have actually managed to complete some of them since I made this thread 8/12 now (Imp & Rep). Struggling with the last few cause I suck at dodging the meteors on those missions

Hi all - we really appreciate the discussion! I wanted to let you know we're going to take a look at Reputation rewards for Grade 5 and below missions for a future update.
Thanks!

Thanks Chris and Jackie for your responses

I wish it was just a L2P issue, but there are people who can't follow the pattern, because of visual issues, or can't move quick enough, because of physical issues, etc. I'm not saying, hand out everything to everyone who just logs in, but at least give them green rep for the easier missions, so they can work towards the goal of maxing the rep, every other rep, ahs green rep in easy missions, every other rep has missions where you can invite people to help, this is the one place, where you are truly alone.
Yeah I have an guildmate with Muscular Dystrophy I can imagine he is not gonna have a fun time trying to do these heroic space missions in their current state. YES!! please make green reputation be added to all of the easier daily missions
-
Someone kindly let me know that I moved it to the wrong sub-forum and I thanked them for the message. It was a mistake on my part and I rectified it as soon as soon as I could.
I do play the game, but I haven't gotten to this particular point of it yet. A question was asked and I was able to find an answer for it, so I responded. Conversations that happen afterward is feedback that I can gather. I read as much as I can from all the pockets of the community and do my best to respond in ways that can be helpful for players, show that someone on the team is active in the forums, and that we are doing our best to keep communication open. I don't see my post as meaningless.
I have another question is it a bug that the grade 7 Beam Charger is so weak in comparison to the grade 6 version? 50 Ship Toughness seems like a lot to lose for 10 more Damage
I have managed to complete 4/6 of the grade 7 missions now but really struggling with the last 2 because I keep ramming into the big obstacles scattered around everywhere...
-
Using barrel roll doesn't really help much IMO I've found your better off just dodging normally with directional keys. I normally just go around in a half circle pattern. Also don't bother trying to do the bonus missions it's not worth dying over. Use your conversion module on shield if not attacking anything (shooting blasters will stop shield regen so only use missiles if your low on shields)
-
Because MMOs are inherently for people OCD ..... and it is the ONLY rep I do not have done. I have done EVERY mission in the space combat but those heroics. Why do the easy ones not give green rep? I get rep for sneezing through dailies on CZ... why not this?
I totally agree the other dailies should give green rep not just the 1 of them right now. I have actually managed to complete 3/6 of the heroic missions today after hitting my head against a wall for several hours
I have worked out a good method for dodging projectiles is to use your keyboard to always keep moving when taking fire from other ships etc (Using Jammer when you come up against a lot of enemies and/or turrets from big ships is also essential for survival).
-
I know. That's why I quoted the post that I responded to.
Yeah I thought you was blaming me sorry
Suppose this is probably the closest to a space mission thread
-
This is the Galactic Starfighter subforum. This thread has nothing to do with GSF in... well, any way. Why did you put it here? It's doubly insulting given that we have a thread here as well as a thread in suggestions trying to get dev attention on a pretty important issue. That you would have had to see at the top, since it was the last thing we were discussing here.
A lot of people doubt our threads ever get read and I'm not sure what to tell them at this point.
It got moved here by the dev (JackieKo) was in general discussion before that
-
So a "gid gud" from the team? I see. I have tried these HUNDREDS (yes HUNDREDS) of times. I am absolutely horrible at the heroic ones. Give us green rep for the easier ones!
Yes gid-gud indeed they could do better than this... I know it's old content but some people are still stuck doing it now/or new players.
At this point I would just take green rep for the easier daily missions
-
This would be unfair to the people who farmed the reputation with the same way it is now, dont you think? It took us months, so why should it be easier for you?
Because it is content from years ago and should be easier to do at this point
-
Hey Deadbladey,
The Grade 7 Missions are intended to be challenging especially for players who have mastered everything in the Grade 5 Mission. You are meant to have almost max level ship gear and have knowledge of when to strategically use your abilities. However, there is little to no RNG, so that will help with planning your route and trying new techniques tp complete the mission. While Grade 7 is the most challenging piece of content for this mode of the game, it is definitely doable with the right gear and strategies.
EDIT: I'll also be moving this discussion to the appropriate sub-forum.
Hi Jackie thanks for the response just wondering is there gonna be any changes made to dailies so we can get reputation from all of them? Or new upgrades added at some point to make it easier?
-
except they fixed that bug a while ago and space missions will not auto pop the rep tokens. I just capped their rep last week and every time I just accepted the mission and the tokens where in my inventory.
And I will say, I have severe physical limitations with my arms/hands (meaning I'm not quick or fast with anything especially clicking or pushing buttons), and I was able to finish the grade 7 missions after a couple pulls. They are very much doable, the rest of the game is already easy and it's nice to have some challenge still there.
Do you have some guides I could follow then? Because I'm really struggling with them
-
The difficulty curve is definitely not helpful in any way. I've played this game a long time and have learned a lot over the years--this game being my first meaningful MMO experience--but the first steps I took prepared me for the later steps. Not so with on-rails space missions. It goes right from stupidly easy to stupidly hard, with the provided incentive for learning to do the hardest missions being incredibly thin.
Sadly it seems highly unlikely to me that this part of the game is going to get any kind of attention anymore, so what we've got is what we've got to deal with.
I get this is old content but I think a lot of people would go back to doing it again if it wasn't so damn difficult
-
The heroic (grade 7) missions are not daily missions after you've complete them once they can only be done on a certain day per week. Check here for the reset days http://dulfy.net/2012/12/13/swtor-pa...issions-guide/
-
There is sometimes a bug where you cannot get the reputation after you've completed the mission if your still in space. So use ESC to exit then finish the mission.
-
Doubt I'll get anything out of this at all... But please one thing we really need is that all the dailies gave the green rep tokens not just 1 of them
-
Or you just try to get better at it, right? These missions are definitely doable if you upgrade your ship with the highest components.
I've only managed to do 1 of them so far but not consistently. Also would be nice if JackieKo replied with some clarification on why the there is such a jump in skill requirement/difficulty between grade 5 and 7 missions and if they plan on changing it in future at all (grade 8 upgrades for instance).
-
Heroic Space Missions (Grade 7) are difficultly scaled way too high in comparison to the grade 5 missions. Can we get this nerfed so I can actually get the flaming reputation?? Please BW it is not fun continuously dying over and over again. I realise this is old content but would be nice if their is some decent conquest rewards aswell for doing this.
