  1. Way to ruin a decent conversation.

I never said you couldn't . I was poking at your grievances with 4 because, IMO they are hardly worth it. Episode 4 pretty much said set the bar. As far as the classical view of all the movies, and one I agree with, episode 4 is still leagues beyond the prequels. I can disagree with you and tell you why. "Try and keep up."

I take you back to my original thought since you came in late to the game and didn't feel like reading the thread at all.

I probably watched Star Wars for the first time ~1984 when my uncle got it on VHS. I didn't really understand it right way but I liked it non the less. One thing you knew, even at such a young age (~6 years old), was that Darth Vader was a very bad evil 'man'. Even then I wondered was it a single choice or a series of choices that got him to that point or was he born so evil. It was hard to imagine such a man as a scared child at any point in his life.

I was please when the prequels launched all those years later and I'm probably one of the few that grew up in that time to say that I enjoyed them. You can say what you like about the characters or some of the dialog but it was the rest of the story and the part I enjoyed the most. We got to see some of those choices that got Anakin to that point and to understand that it wasn't malice that drove it but passion. It was the flawed beliefs of the order that pushed him on that path with gentle nudges of Palpatine.

    Order of quality

    Episode 5,3,1,6,2,4

  2. You can't say aside from something and then list ALL the good qualities of a movie you liked. That's making a backwards argument.

I won't get into it here, but as far as good story telling, decent acting and genuine emotion goes, episode 4 is still leagues beyond 1,2 and 3. And if episode 4 was "bad" the Star Wars universe would have died right there.

And mark Hamil was an unknown actor (basically). Pretty damn good for someone that no one even knew.

Yes, because you can't have a good story with bad acting or vice versa... Please keep up with the conversation if you're going to chime in. I said I like them all ( I NEVER said E4 was BAD) but that doesn't mean I can't put them in order of my perceived quality of them.

  3. thats even worse,,,the WORST ferrari will get u killed(high speed ,low protection)

maybe the worst skoda will do the same,,but at least it does that for lesser money

Wow, way to miss the point. The worst Ferrari is better than the best Skoda. The worst Van Gogh is better than my best painting. The worst Rolex is better than the best Timex ever made. I'm not talking about individual things but a line of items...

  4. Hayden made Mark look like the Jedi master of acting.

The real first three range from classic to good. This was because they were silly fantasy sci-fi played as if it was serious. The next three were terrible because they thought they were serious movies, yet were sillier (by a lot) than the first three, and played as if the actors were completely clueless as to what digital imagery would be inserted around them.

Hardly. They were about equal in the number of times they felt out of place in scenes just saying lines. Hayden had far more times where he felt comfortable and in place in scenes.

  5. excuse me,,,hover car chase? jango/obi wan battles? clone battle scenes?

for every time i see episode 2, it goes a little higher on the list,,the opposite goes for 1 and 4

As far as action goes you're right. It come second to only 3 in terms of quality of the action scenes.

  6. yea but a bad ferrari is WORSE than a bad skoda,,,why?

    price,,u pay overprice for a subpar quality,,like a certain game:rolleyes:

a skoda is EXPECTED to be subpar , and is priced after that,,so when it just works, the driver is happy

Did I say bad Ferrari? No I said the worst Ferrari. Anytime you make multiple anything one is going to be the worst, if you equate that to being bad you need to rethink the world. Van Gogh worst painting still a Van Gough. Mozart's worst composition...

  7. You and I agree on that. Anyone who ranks any of the original 3 under the new 3 needs to have their...well you figure it out.

A New Hope is by far the worst in dialog and acting. Aside from Harrison's, Daniels' voice overs and R2D2 the acting was terrible even for that time. Mark Hamill was the worst offender of all though he redeemed himself in empire. The story and plot was good but hardly the best. Of course that goes back to my love for early character development.

  8. Trekkie!?! :p

I just don't get it...I'm sure I have rose colored glasses on, but I watch the original trilogy every year, Episode 4 wasn't the worst...

Like I said in my post I liked them all so I'm sure we are coming from different place on ranking. The worst Ferrari ever made was still a Ferrari.

  10. As we get closer, you realize the world is changing around you…. We have to change accordingly. Now you’ve got a hybrid model, which is the way I like it, because I’d rather say “give me all you can eat for 15 bucks a month and I’ll play the game if you give me everything,” which is still available. But this fall there will be, we open up the funnel at the top, look, come on in, there’s no cost to play, if you want to progress it gets better quickly.

There are things in the cash shop that even subscribers can't get unless they pay extra for. That's not exactly "all you can eat" for $15 per month, now is it, Mr. Moore?

    -Macheath.

How do you figure that subs have to pay extra? Subs get an allowance of CP so it becomes a matter of patience weather it's "all you can eat".

  11. I always love how people on the far end of the bell curve chime in to say their FPS and the game are fine, so should everyone else's be. Everyone chiming in running sandy bridge or better procs with last or current gen video cards saying that 40-60 FPS is fine? That in itself is foolish but when you think to the other end of the bell curve how you do believe those people are running?

Even if you just meet minimum requirements you would expect to get 20-40 FPS but even with the change in graphics settings, if top of the line machines are hitting 40-60 constantly you would expect minimum specs to be hitting single digits easy. A bell curve is that because most people fall in the middle of those two so they could easily be hitting 10-30 FPS during normal gameplay which isn't right.

  12. Yeah well that stuff rarely ever happens. It hasn't happened to me once. It is a bad hypothetical scenario and irrelevant.

Hardly. PVPers don't like WZ leavers the same way you "hypothetically" wouldn't like Ops/FP leavers. But somehow you find one behavior acceptable and the other not. The reason it's hypothetical and doesn't happen is that PVPers don't go into a FP/ops if they plan on PVPing because they know they wouldn't be able to finish it without leaving and that would be wrong. Apparently PVEers don't have the same moral fiber, thanks for clearing that up.

  13. I would accept it. That was their choice, and I would place them on ignore for it, that is my choice.

No you wouldn't. If I was healing and left in the middle of a boss fight for a WZ and you wiped (costing you credits) you would be far from accepting it. Do that several times in the course of an afternoon and you would be on the forums complaining that it wasn't right. I'm not talking about it happening every so often, I'm talking about it being a common practice like it was in WZ's. If every time you are grouped in GF you had 1-2 leave in the middle it would draw complaints. I don't see why some people feel it's acceptable behavior for WZ's.

  14. The people who complain are the people who don't handle change well. Windows 8 runs fine on desktops but as someone who uses keyboard shortcuts it easy for me. That is something MS does well is shortcuts. If you've seen/heard of the Microsoft development staff they hardly ever use a mouse, every thing for them is done by keyboard shortcuts.

But new peripherals are making all of that moot. Logitech has made a multi-touch trackpad and a multi-touch surface mouse design for windows 8 gestures. You don't need a touchscreen for a desktop. I myself will be getting the touchpad for working in windows while also keeping my gaming mouse hooked up for games.

  15. I realize that they don't want to add it and have a lot of clipping issues, but come on... we can decide that for ourselves! WOW has a Cloak toggle, for instance. On some races, the cloak looks great, while on others, depending on the weapons you have equipped, there could be horrible clipping (A troll or Worgen using a 2 handed weapon, for instance). Clipping or no, they still leave the choice up to the player. I'm currently playing my Sorcerer and I have a few helmets now that could look awesome under a hood. Heck, most of them are even really flat looking in the back, so I doubt there would even be any clipping issues.

And even then, classes like Jedi's aren't even worried about clipping because they simply want to have their hoods down.... add it Bioware! The last time you told us it was in the works was probably back in April. 5 months is more than enough time to add this into the game.

I'm glad you have a firm grasp of how coding is done. Yeah, it's a simple fix of adding in a simple toggle switch so that every armor modeling is going to be able to dynamically change to fit that switch. Who would ever think that for it to work they would have to redo the armor models for every hooded piece of armor in game to allow two variants.

  16. The legacy system is a joke. Its purpose was good, but they ruined it when they invalidated the legacy levels by putting obnoxiously high fees on everything. If there are legacy levels, there should be no fees, or else the "perks" should have nothing to do with the legacy system and JUST be a fee based system. As it is now, you work your *** off to gain legacy levels for the priveledge of going bankrupt buying perks.

One way to put these points to work is to go ahead and spend them to buy mods and equipment. They are BoE so you can either mail them to alts, or list them on the GTN.

EDIT: Just realized that you are not talking about the planetary commondations that you get while normal PvE questing. I don't know how the commendations you mentioned work, so disredgard my comment...

They had the right idea seeing as how some of the low end stuff was free at legacy level X or you could choose to purchase it if you didn't meet the level requirement . Everything should have been this and I refuse to buy fluff at a premium price since I had to go extra work just to unlock it.

  17. Well, for all classes 90% of players would recommend the healer companion for next to no downtim, which i find funny, since bioware said during development, you can use any companion and not feel weakened or punished for it, but now that the game is released, you are indeed weakened and punished for choosing a companion other then the healer one.

If you planned to romance a non-healer companion, be prepared to spend loads of credits on gifts to up their rep or have massive downtime for conversation based rep improvements, its a problem i hope bioware will freaking fix, but i doubt it.

The way i see it, dps companions need to have either a massive damage buff or a massive survivability buff, the tank companions need to have their armor bonus back, it shouldn't have been removed in the first place.

The healer companions are fine as they are, which is why most players use them over the other companions, next to no downtime.

My sorc was leveld up to ~30 as DPS and I used Khem as DPS. The rest of the way to 50 as a healer again with DPS most of the time with Ashara. I did heroic 2+ daily's with her solo and gear Xalek and can't tell much of a difference between the two doing daily's.

My merc used mako the whole time to 50 but only with her healing abilities on when needed for heroic's. The jest of this story is I never felt weak. I only needed a healer companion on my characters that's couldn't heal and when doing heroics.

Well, consider yourself lucky, because i was doing fine as a Balance spec Shadow, but the moment i got to Atiss Station on Quesh, it was just too hard to complete and i refuse to group up for a class quest, so thats when i ditched the class.

But i learnt, its either use the healer or be a healer or severely over gear and over level yourself and do whatever you want.

I'm sorry but you were either under leveled, under geared (you and your companion) or you're just that bad. Stop taking green quest rewards get modable gear and use your planetary comms.

  18. Your sprint breaks roots now. If a carnage Mara jumps and roots you. You don't have to knock back or eat it anymore!! Just bubble, sprint away. Use LoS the best you can. With the free heal and new sprint we survive a little longer. Not much better, but I'll take a little anyday. At least we aren't arsenal mercs XD

It breaks roots but you're not immune to pulls or stuns. It worked great until people adopted and stun/pulled a sprinter. Bubbles go down in a few hits and damage out scales heals. Throw in an interrupt and you're dead before your next shield/sprint is up.

Until all forms of control are dependent on resolve this is going to continue to be a problem.

  19. The problem I have with it is this.

Current and former players will also find additional benefits as part of this program. BioWare will be increasing the frequency of game content updates, with the first of many new releases coming in August. In addition, current subscribers will receive Cartel Coin grants and qualify for access to special in-game items. Even former players who re-activate now will qualify for special benefits

That was posted 7/31/12. The deadline for resubbing to receive back months worth of CP was... You guessed it 7/31/12. Some of of us quite because of game issues that made it unplayable that weren't starting to be implementing until 1.3.x updates.
