And if there isn't, then why not?
Thanks in advance

Most elitist will look down upon you, and I am sure you met ppl like that by now....
The ones with an ego issue who claim they ought to start playing tennis or some other solo sport where they do not have to rely on others. This kind of `speech` is usually given when they lose to a better group, and they blame the 1 not in DR gear, fully augmented ofc.
Personally, if you have 2018 expertise I could not care further about your gear specifics but that is just me. Skill matters more, 2018 is enough to carry your own weight in ranked, augmented gear just might give you a slight edge but it is more or less trivial....
ty sir

Should you have some ranked gear to queue?
(I'm playing as Vanguard btw)

PvP in MMO's is a thing of the past IMO... MOBA PvP is much more balanced
-
I came back to the game because of the 12x experience.
The game is so much more enjoyable this way... If the 12x experience goes, then I go with it.
-
If your looking for instant Warzone Pops and good world PvP go the Pot5
If your looking for nice PvE content with people always there to group up with to do flashpoints and PvE Content go to Harbinger
I do Pot5 since I like PvP
Wait, what?
-
I came back to the game because of the 12x boost... I have multiple level 60s and I wanted to experience the other class stories.
So for them to keep getting my money, it is needed.
-
This should give you a good idea regarding solo ranked. Regarding regs and lowbies, it doesn't have to be a pvp server. For example, the harbinger (pve server) gets good pops.
Thank you very much
-
Just wanting to know what the most populated server for lower level pvp queues and also yolo queue at 60
Thanks in advance
-
If you're coming back to PvP competitively at 60, then don't waste your time.
Other than that the stories are still great and non-competitive PvP is a blast. Just don't play solo-ranked at 60.
-
DPS Mercs simply aren't viable in solo queue ranked... Even with the new 5-stack absorb, I still don't see it.
-
The whole list is a typo IMO.
So I've been trolled?

Pecking order (in order of difficulty):
1. Tacticals - the joke of all FP's, - you don't even need a balanced group to run them - item level probably no lover than 162 is advised.
2. Hard Mode 50 - After you hit 55, these are more or less a joke too - Don't really need much more than 180, if that
3. Hard Mode 60 - aside from Battle Of Rishi & Blood Hunt, these are all pretty easy once you've hit 60 and you have decent 186ish gear - BoR and BH however...ver mechanic heavy HM FP's...pugging is not advised. - 186, preferably auged.
4. Operations - meant for 8m, 16m SM or HM versions. The SM's are typically relatively easy-ish, the HM's (obviously) not so much the case. - 186 - 198, just depends on the OP really. The new ones you'll want at least 186, and want it auged.
Thanks for responding.
This helps a lot

Been playing since beta but have never tried end game content... have always been a huge PvP'er...
I've been wanting to get into PvE, but didn't want to queue up for something that I wasn't prepared for (gear-wise).
As far as end game lingo goes, I have no idea how the pecking order goes... Hard Mode? Ops?... tactical flashpoints? No clue...
Just briefly wanted a short rundown of what I should be queueing for right now and what my item level should be. I just bought a bunch of Basic LvL 60 gear with my basic comms from vendor

H guys, i am new to merc PVP and i am going to be doing team ranked soon. I wish you guys could help me out with some guidance.
1) What Utilities to use
2) How to min/max the gear.
3) Tips on the "rotation" to use for maximum damage.
Thank you all in advance for the help!
Tip #1: don't play ranked as Arsenal Merc
Tip #2: switch to healing spec
Tip #3: then try ranked

Huttball is one of my favorite mmo PvP arenas of all time... But sadly Bioware has killed SWTOR PvP and it might be too late.

The real problem is that the guys playing these "FOTM" classes have very little consideration for the survivability of other classes. Such as most hatred sins getting nice damage numbers but not popping a single taunt, or not peeling for other classes that have very little in the way of avoiding the damage of three or four unhindered and free casting DPS who are focusing them. It makes me laugh when these shadows and sins use the same excuse every time, "but my AOE taunt is a defensive cooldown", that really doesn't matter if you're 3v4 within the first 10 seconds. Or the best one I heard the other day, "I only have 1 taunt you know, and it can miss" (so the guy definitely wasn't using his single target taunt, and then there's the fact taunts are based off Force/tech accuracy, which should be 101% minimum, so it'll require F/T accuracy debuffs to make a taunt *miss*). Same with DPS guardians and juggs, it's very rare to see someone use guardian leap effectively these days, and then there are sentinels and their use of pacify (the list goes on).
You get the right class composition and players and any class can easily become over powered. People forget SWTOR is focused on team play, but egos get in the way.
Please... stop...

I recall every class having at least one specialization that was FOTM at some point since launch except for Sniper (and I suppose gunslinger on the other side). I might make an argument that Juggernaut has never been FOTM as well except for the "Smash Monkey" period but everything a Jugg could do a Marauder could do better with Rage during that time.
I've been here since launch and never recall Arsenal Mercs being OP.
I'd love to hear it.
Are you talking about the Tracer Missile spam that was never OP and just a stupid mechanic? Or what
-
really? not sure if it can be considered fotm, but pre3.0 arsenal/gunnery burst felt too easy it was almost laughable at times.
This is a PvP thread. Not PvE

Arsenal Merc checking in

I've seen some pretty amazing dps mercs in ranked.
No one is denying their ability to do some serious dps...
Mercs can solo queue and win some games. But there's ZERO place for Mercs in high level ranked pvp... and that's just the way it is. If you're playing against even an average team, it's physically impossible to survive longer than 10-20 seconds... No matter how good your healer is. If this doesn't happen, then the other team is bad.
-
First decent changes since launch?
Fake, imo
-
Mercs need fixing before snipers imo
-
It actually does...you guys play ranged, we don't. you guys have a problem with close quarter combat? Simple... build distance...electro net is the ability to do so.... Got a problem with getting globaled? Pop your shield, adrenaline Rush and keep it movin! Idk how many times I've seen good merc/mandos use those pro utilities to evade a 4 second beating where as a sentinel just stands there and looks pretty while getting murdered. And as for our stealth, the reason we get it buffed is because we try to get close we get rooted on the spot...our stealth tries to break roots...BAM!! get rooted again by either awe or a troopers scanner. And third, the only reason I said that you should lose electro net is because if you guys got a "GOD MODE" cd you guys would be a wonderfully OP class.
It would be the first time in the history of SWTOR that Mercs would be a "wonderfully OP class" in pvp... I'm ok with it.
Is there still 12x xp for the main story?
