  1. I'd like an update from you. Today. To talk about what you plan to do WRT making radical improvements to the CXP/GC situation.

A few yea-sayers aside, this structure has been universally panned. It is an abject failure in both conception and implementation. Whatever you'd planned/hoped/expected this system to do, it has not. The best you can claim is that it has been an effective repellent.

I'll discuss the major issues shortly, however the larger point of this post is to express you have a responsibility to speak to this today. Openly. Perhaps in an impromptu stream. You need to get in front of the community and express that you hear the anger and understand the mindset of your playerbase.

Like, right the now Ben. It's bad. I've been in a few different voice chats over the past couple days. I hear misery. Disdain. Dread. This is supposed to be a game. Look at fleet chat. Stronghold-planet chats. Ops chats. It's bad.

Maybe the ducks are telling you otherwise so I'm just giving you a heads up, in the form of a bucket of water to the face, a jolt of electricity, a siren in your ear.

You created uprisings. Good idea in theory. You cheaped out - we get it. That's how you do. But objectively it's a nice idea. You know what we think of them? We're already sick of grinding them.

    On day 4.

You normalized gear. Good idea in theory. You didn't think it all the way through - we get it. That's how you do. Objectively? Again - nice idea. But all people are thinking about is how it's going to take until May to get geared.

    On their main.

You've completely broken CXP gain with your nerf. If it was barely stomachable before - it wasn't but we're talking in relatives - it's a total horror show now. Lesson: You don't understand MMO's. That guy that grinded up to rank ~100? That's how it's played. If anything it demonstrated the cap was too low. Your reaction to that was ignorant, underhanded and, candidly, just utterly stupid. I'm sorry, but you don't remove the ability to grind in a grind system. You just don't. I'm not sure how you don't get that. Most people weren't doing that. All that did was screw everyone - because you were trying to fix something that wasn't a problem. You flat out lied about the point of the cap. That was not exploiting. That was simply someone playing a game in a way you don't understand because you have no understanding of this gametype or your playerbase. And that's your job.

Talk. Today. Stream. And answer questions. Own this. Explain yourself. Don't you dare get on screen and say one single postive thing about this expansion, save a minute or two on the story. Which, by the way, you've completely overshadowed and spoiled with GC.

I don't think - no, I know - you don't fully understand what this system is doing to gameplay and the community. What it means for pugs. Why the incentive is to bail as soon as there's a single wipe. Why the incentive - which for a couple days was to actually kill mobs in FPs/Ops - is now to simply spam queue for thrown GSF/PvP. Why last night it took 10 mins to get an Uprising pop on Harby with a tank/heal/DPS in the queue. Why heroics are pointless now.

We want to know what you're going to do to make this game fun again. Because today, thanks to you, it's not. We want to know how you're going to make playing alts viable. Now.

This needs to be handled. Right now. You need to talk to the community, as a leader, and demonstrate accountability, flexibility and concern. Show us why you're in your role. Today.

Excellent and well thought out. Everything I have been thinking and wanting to say summarized perfectly.

  2. I understand that having credits and cartel coins is too confusing for the target audience of 5.0 so in a move to 'fix' the problem credits are being done away with and we will just use cartel coins. There is fortunately a conversion for credits ,1 million credits will be worth .1 of a cartel coin. This ratio will also be used in all quests that had previously rewarded credits.

Well you see, you only have half the story here. They are taking away our credits but the cartel coin replacements will only be delivered to us slowly over the next 42 chapters. And even then, 70% of the CC will be missing at the end of the chapters.

  3. Hello there,

One thing that helped fix my problems was to remove Bit Raider from my launcher. You will have to re-download the game but I have had no issues after doing so.

    Here are the steps:

    Step 1

    Uninstall the game.

    Step 2

    Download and install: swtor_setup.exe

    Step 3

Run the launcher, let it do it's self-update thing, and login. Once you've accepted the EULA's quickly quit the launcher.

    Step 4

Go into your swtor directory and open the launcher.settings file in notepad.

    It should to look like:

    { "Login": "SEKRIT"

    , "LastProduct": ""

    , "downloadRate": "0"

    , "language": "en-us"

    , "TestServerAccess": "No"

    , "SpecHash": "SEKRIT,"

    , "AutoClose": "NONE"

    , "KillKillProc": "false"

    , "LastMode": "PROD"

    , "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"BR\" }"

    , "bitraider_download_complete": { }

    , "log_levels": "INFO,SSNFO,ERROR"

    , "bitraider_disable": false

    , "DevLogin": ""

    , "EnableAutoEnvironment": "false"

    , "LastEnvironment": ""

    , "loglevels": "INFO,SSNFO,ERROR"

    , "P2PEnabled": "false"

    , "enableRateLimit": "false"

    , "uploadRate": "0"

    , "InternalLaunchpad": "null"

    , "InternalGamepad": "null"

    , "ExternalLaunchpad": "null"

    , "ExternalGamepad": "null"

    , "HardPatcherMode": "PROD"

    , "PickedEnvironments": "swtor"

    }

    Step 5

Change the two bold lines in the file so it'll look like:

    { "Login": "SEKRIT"

    , "LastProduct": ""

    , "downloadRate": "0"

    , "language": "en-us"

    , "TestServerAccess": "No"

    , "SpecHash": "SEKRIT,"

    , "AutoClose": "NONE"

    , "KillKillProc": "false"

    , "LastMode": "PROD"

    , "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"

    , "bitraider_download_complete": { }

    , "log_levels": "INFO,SSNFO,ERROR"

    , "bitraider_disable": true

    , "DevLogin": ""

    , "EnableAutoEnvironment": "false"

    , "LastEnvironment": ""

    , "loglevels": "INFO,SSNFO,ERROR"

    , "P2PEnabled": "false"

    , "enableRateLimit": "false"

    , "uploadRate": "0"

    , "InternalLaunchpad": "null"

    , "InternalGamepad": "null"

    , "ExternalLaunchpad": "null"

    , "ExternalGamepad": "null"

    , "HardPatcherMode": "PROD"

    , "PickedEnvironments": "swtor"

    }

    Step 6

Let the install finish and enjoy it without the broken BitRaider and it's shenanigans.

  4. Welcome to the world of swtor support.

Unfortunately the best way is the long way. In game support tickets seem to be it. From what I've seen and heard you can expect at least a 3-4 week wait to get any response. And even then, your lucky if they address the actual issue you are reporting on.

You can try phone support but they will usually just tell you to submit an in game ticket for in game issues.

This isn't much help but at least you can start the long waiting process.

  5. I'm going to have to agree with maybe starting over on a new character. I recently came back to the game after a year off also. The leveling process has been highly simplified.

In fact, you can now just level up by doing your class missions quests without having to do any side quests at all. I was able to level up from 1-50 in about 2 weeks of very casual play. In my opinion, companions are now very overpowered so you should have no problem leveling quickly and learning your class. I don't think I died once from level 1-50 even doing boss fights at the end of chapters.

You are also able to enjoy Flashpoints now in solo mode.

Welcome back to the game and enjoy your time :D

  6. Sorry, guess I'm not understanding your question. What do you mean by keyboard controls? Are you referring to in game keybindings? I wasn't aware that there was any kind of change to the default keybindings in 4.1

  9. Been using my security key since launch with no problems. I'm not sure why it would make much of a difference but have you tried imputing the numbers on the num pad vs the top row of your keys?

Second thing I can think of is to maybe call customer support? Perhaps the timing algorithm or whatever is used to sync your key with the client is off.

  10. Very strange. Been using Unleashed since it first was introduced and love it. Had no issues at all till now. I had to do a fresh install of Windows 7 yesterday. Today I re-installed everything including Unleashed and IMdisk, but when I try to start Unleashed it is telling me that IMdisk isn't installed correctly. I'm able to open the IMdisk control panel with no issues but when trying to mount a drive from IMdisk it's telling me the "driver is being locked".

    So whats up with that?

I've uninstalled and re-installed several times. Rebooted computer to make sure all was good. Just can't seem to get IMdisk to run.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  11. I don't mean to hijack your thread or anything, but you realise that the triforce symbol you use in your logo is actually called Delta, not Lambda?

Just curious if that was intended :3

Thank you very much for your observation. Originally I was unaware of the Alt+code for the Lambda symbol and was only able to use the Delta (up arrow). After digging a little bit deeper, I now have the Alt+code for the Lambda symbol and have updated the posts to reflect these changes.

I appreciate your help with this matter.
