Just ordered mine! Can't wait to get this...
-
Just bought a new iphone and couldn't log in due to the authenticator crapping out. Called customer service and had the issue rectified in less that 5 minutes flat.
Just awesome.
Oh, and I'm loving the game...keep it up Bioware, it's appreciated.
-
Nope. Just bought a new linksys...having the same problem (even after updating the firmware). This never happened before the latest update, which leads me to believe that this is a client-side issue.
Either way it sucks.
-
I'm going to install the update and see if that helps. Thank you...

Since the last patch my latency with from a stable 60-100 ms (during a 2-4 hour play stretch), to 1200-1600 ms. For the life of me I could not figure a work around. In a last ditch effort to salvage whatever was left of my patience, I disconnected my belkin wireless router (even though I run a wire from the router to my PC), and ran the internet connection directly from my modem (high speed cable) to my PC...Ta daa, problem solved.
Keep in mind, that although the wireless router sevices the computers in and around the home, I DO run a hardline from the wireless router directly into my PC. But for whatever reason, even though I'm connected this way, I've been experiencing horrendous latency.
Just thought I'd throw this out there...Hope it helps.

A lot of the game reviewers are paid off to give endorsement, sounds ridiculous but...ya know.
Quite an accusation. You have verifiable proof of this?

I agree with IGN's review 110%

Honestly guys.... Everyone you see complaining on these forums are a small select who have nothing else better to do besides troll or bash on a game because it's not what they thought it would be. We all have a right to make suggestions to help better the game, which nothing is wrong with that, but the silent majority like myself who rarely posts or doesn't even go on the forums are enjoying the game. For the people who compare to other MMO's.... you’re never going to be satisfied no matter what comes out. If WOW, Rift, LOTR was your game and makes you feel better then play it. No one has a gun to your head and telling you to log in. We have choices...SWTOR is a choice. You either like it or you don't.
Remember the silent majority are the ones enjoying it or don't give a crap to even post on these forums because they don't want to deal with people bashing them on their opinions.
Personally, I love the game and I’m only lvl 40 and I am sure months to come we will have all our little issues fixed. Patience....
I agree with this 100%. Well said !

Loving the game, server is jam packed with people enjoying themselves, heroics/fp get filled quickly, always someone to team up with.
Looking forward to all the new content and patches that will come.
Me too! Definitely. This game has a very bright future ahead of it...I'm glad to be a part of it.
-
Its not complacency, it's being aware that there are bugs and having no doubt that eventually they will be fixed. Lord forbid I don't take a bug on as my mission in life to see it vanquished and just enjoy the content that is there and working for me.
^^ /Agree 100%

nope the majority of us have nothing to do are tired of the bugged out instances and boring pvp that includes huttball 90 % of the time and the fact that cc is broke to all hell so yeah all you people under 50 need to stay quite till ur 50 tired of reading i love this game but I am only 36. Yes the game was fun leveling up no it snot fun the second time around.
Sounds like you made up your mind then.
-
I just find it odd that so many people are willing to ignore the major amount of bugs and issues the game has. You can acknowledge that they exist, and still be able to enjoy the game. But it seems like so many people are either on the side of total complacency or complete dissatisfaction.
Neither...most people are playing the game. We're actually ALL just a small vocal contingent of over 1 million plus subscribers.
-
because bw's cut and paste response to my 75 tickets is clearly acceptable. as is theeir silence on virtually every bug untill the thread asking for help get to be OVER 100 pages long..
and im not your 'bro'
Relax tough guy.
-
I feel for those having troubles...I really do. I know I'd be pissed off as well (after so long waiting specially)...but this is more of my kind of thread.
Enjoying the game. Loving the story (JK end of chapter 1 was EPIC and it kept me on till 2:30am on a Tuesday...falling sleep at work now :$ )
Thanks, and keep up the good work!.
PS: To those having issues, I trust they will be resolved, and hope to see you here (still, or latter when they are resolved). Don´t dispose of the game based on current despair...you´ll regret it latter.
Agreed.

Yeah, I'm dying for the graphical upgrades as well...I can turn on AA, but then can longer see holo-transmissions
Waiting patiently
-
wait so having tested this game since july, having seen every bug i reported since then in the live verion and getting pissed about it, and wanting to see those bugs fixed becaue its not only an attention to detail issue but also shows a compelte disregard for the testers and the live players is entitlement how exactly????
Bro, your signature says it all...you're just a negatorian. lol
I beta tested the same game, for just about as long as you have...sure there were frustartions, then and now...but I've remained positive throughout and continue to do so at my own benefit (having hella fun regardless).
Being concerned with the direction of the game is one thing, crying out for attention...as your sig clearly demonstrates a whole new set of issues.
No offense.

So having a positive attitude and posting something other than *gasp* childish, elitist whining makes the guy an oblivious fanboy? I say it's about time someone who speaks for the MAJORITY of the player base say what the rest of us are thinking. Most of us are too busy enjoying the game...which is what I'm about to be doing because getting side tracked by the forums is a real downer.
Later, kids.
No doubt Kab. Thanks for having my back on this. I don't respond to trollish nonsense...but I'm glad you felt the need to defend...Cheers

-
I'm gonna go ahead and say THANK YOU for your POSITIVE thread. I agree with you 110%
You're welcome bro. An honest assement having taken part in no less than a dozen launches.
-
I'll discount these arguments.
I cancelled my "subscription" a couple days ago with 19 days of play time left. I still visit the boards, hoping to find a reason to resub.
As does my friend.
And my other friend...
And my other friend........
And soon to be, other friends... who are on the edge of quitting but want to hit 50 just to say they gave it their best shot.
You'll only find that which you're looking for...if you enjoy the game, you'll see the potential and have a grand time. I doubt anything will change so significantly that you'll resub. SWTOR just may not be for you...no hard feelings.
PS. Hitting 50 is by no means an indicator you "gave it your best shot". There are myriad of other elements to this wonderfully crafted game that you've completely overlooked. The fact that you raced to 50 means, quite frankly, you just don't get...probably never will.
Cheers bud.

In my experience, the people who come to the forums to whine never leave, they stay and play the game, yet continue to complain about things on the forums, saying the game is gonna die, is dead, or will be killed by the next patch or game, or whatever.
The players that come onto the forums and whine, regardless of age, are acting like little children rather than adults. They throw their little temper tantrums and scream at the developer for even the most minor things.
Frankly, the smart, mature, and dedicated players know how to get things fixed. They stay in game, investigate a bug a little, and send in a detailed, calm ticket to the developer.
Screaming, kicking and throwing a little temper tantrum won't gain you anything, and certainly won't get Bioware to listen to you.
I would love to see some fans get together and send some pizza or something to the Austin HQ of Bioware as a gift.
While most of us probably have not met the guys from Bioware Austin, I'm sure we all can agree that they are human just like we are, and they aren't some group of illuminati, templar conspirators sitting in Austin thinking up ways to steal our money.
Listen to the interview with the Bioware employees by Rooster Teeth. They are normal guys (and gals) who love video games as much as you or I, and they want to see this game be successful. Just because they haven't made the game to suit your personal desires doesn't mean they are wrong, or that this game will fail.
Amen brother.
-
There is a small hate squad that wants to see the game fail. I love seeing them in threads that show SWTOR success. They will be hating on the game for years to come, get used to it.
I supppose you're right. Okay, I'm outta here...Taris is less a toxic dump than these forums. lol
-
I agree with this 100%.
Big step forward for MMO design in general. Story works. My character means more to me after a couple weeks than my WoW toon did after 6 years. I can't imagine going back to a WoW-style questing system.
The PvP is amazingly fun. Huttball is outstanding and mixes in a lot of strategy along with entertaining gameplay. Best PvP experience I've had in a MMO, and 1000x better than WoW's arenas or battlegrounds. I'm wishing for more Huttball maps and competitive league play. Hell, I am wishing for more Warzones featuring environmental hazards. If they add one like Khaine's Embrace from WAR, where you can detonate a high yield explosive that can vaporize friend and foe, I'll be damn near giddy. Just no arenas please. Not now. Not ever. Keep it focused on objective based PvP, and the game will be better off for it.
Sure, there are some issues in PvP, but the ability delay will be fixed, and most of the imbalances people cry about have more to do with who is sitting at the keyboard than the classes themselves.
The End Game will grow and develop in time along with everything else. Most of the complaints are from people who blew through the content to hit max level during their Christmas break and had unrealistic expectations of what would be waiting for them. The fact that there is a functioning Operation at all is something to be thankful for - more than a lot of launches had. Enjoy it, and look forward to what is on the horizon.
The game has set the bar as far as a launch for a MMO is concerned, and I've been through more than a handful of them.
I have my list of complaints and gripes, but 90% of the game rolled out perfectly. I'm content to play and enjoy myself while BioWare tweaks, fixes and adds to the game.
We just have to get through till February when the ADD kids cancel their subs and take their entitlement issues elsewhere, leaving us with a better community overall.
^^ Couldn't have said it any better.
-
Now that sounds like someone enjoying a game.
Not someone who is expecting an MMO to supplement their RL.
I play it for what it is, entertainment and a distraction.
It wasn't advertised as an alternative to life.
LOL. No doubt...it amazes me how upset some people are getting over things like High rez textures, or relatively minor bugs and glitches.
And then there's the "THIS GAME IS DEAD...UNLESS...."
The entertainment factor (in reading these inane rants) goes up as relevence fades...quiet interesting.
