  1. If you're specced right, you should win all the duels against a rage jugg cuz you get 30% AoE damage reduction and CoP reduces all damage by 20%. So it's 50% damage reduction for his most damaging ability.
  2. You consider 5 seconds very long? Against good opponents, as soon as they see you've popped Undying Rage/Guarded by the Force they will stun/CC/kite/root/etc you immediately until it wears off. Or they will just stun you when you get low to preemptively stop you from using it and burst you down before you can.

     

    Since when is this game balanced around 1v1? And classes without a knockback? That's only Marauder/Sentinel and Operative/Scoundrel. Marauder/Sentinel is the class in question which has counters for Ravage such as Obfuscate, Force Camouflage, Undying Rage, Force Choke, AoE mezz, etc. Operative/Scoundrel can Vanish, Debilitate, Flashbang, etc. Not to mention they hardcounter us anyway and will win 100% of the time in a 1v1 if both play perfectly.

     

    Every other class has a knockback. Most classes also have a mezz they can use or a stun/stuns as well as other things. I don't understand how something being on CD makes something else OP'd. If that's the case, when Undying Rage is on CD there are plenty of things that are OP'd that need nerfs in this game. Alternatively, if their stun is on CD when Undying Rage is popped as I've already said earlier in my post there are a number of ways to neutralize the Marauder in question.

     

    Pre 1.2 this would be true, but with our quality of life changes in 1.2 (obfuscate out of GCD/free interupt/free AoE Stun/ravage buff) marauder can defeat operatives even if they open on you on stealth. The ONLY way an operative can defeat a marauder is when they take 50% of your hp on their opener (knockdown + backstab crit combo = 8k damage). So when they open up on you, immediately pop a defensive CD and you'll win the 1v1 for sure. Also keep your dots and BOTH slows on them (seeping wound + crippling slash) and they can't cleanse your dots al the time.

     

    Pre 1.2, Assassins/Operatives/Powertechs/Marauders were the best 1v1 classes, they all had equal chances to win a 1v1.

    But in 1.2, marauders defeats them all without even using all their CD's.

  3. Full buffed, BM geared, Adrenal/Bloodthirst/Relics

    Tested on regular training dummy

     

    All specs were tested 3 times, I took the average of every spec. And every fight was 250 sec.

    (all CD's were up when testing)

     

    Annihilation = 1750 dps

    Carnage = 1550 dps

    Rage = 1500 dps

  4. I've never been killed by a Mara while in Dark Charge. 1v1 it's not gonna happen. 2v1 the maras might have a chance.

     

    Edit: i'm aware that Darkness Sins are OP and shocked that we haven't been nerfed yet. Probably because our other 2 specs are crap.

     

    Another tank assassin that thinks he can beat mara's with ease.

     

    You prob never pvp'ed against a skilled marauder then. Tanksins in DPS gear are the hardest targets for a marauder, but a skilled marauder that knows both classes will win anytime without even using undying rage. We have enough defensive CD's to get very low damage on us while our dots kill you.

     

    You use 3xHD stack, I use Force choke/Intimidating Roar/Force Camo (going stealth interupts the channel) so you can't self heal

    You use force shroud, I use my weapon abilities.

    You use that 50% melee/ranged defense, I use smash/choke/force scream/dots.

    If all of this goes right, I don't even have to use my CC breaker so I can save it for when you wanna sap me and self heal yourself.

     

    It's impossible for you to win against a marauder that knows what he's doing cuz you're easily countered while you can't do anything about it.

     

    edit: I have both classes on lv50 btw and both classes are geared

  5. However carnage will still have some survivability issues which are somewhat negated by other 2 specs via bleed heals (anni) and passive dmg reduction (rage).

     

    Unless we count the burst, root and better predation as survival skills. In that case the field gets leveled.

     

    In a premade, I think carnage will be the best out of the 3 specs.

    We don't really need that survivability from bleeds cuz we're already getting healed by our premade healers.

     

    Annihilation and Rage will be the better solo que spec, but for group que Carnage will dominate for sure (80% predation, deadly throw root and ravage root)

  6. It really depends on wich DoTs are critting.

     

    1 stack DS = 500-600

    2 stacks DS = 800-900

    3 stacks DS = 1100-1200 (maybe more)

     

    Rupture = 600-800

     

    Numbers can change with your stats, but these are the usual DoT numbers I get when they crit.

  7. Sins have an AoE knockback

    Sorcs have an AoE knockback with a root if talented

    Mercs have an AoE knockback with a snare

    Snipers have an AoE knockback with a root

    Juggs have a push that pushes you almost to the other side of the map.

     

    5 of the 8 AC's have a knockback and you all want a 6th AC with a knockback/push? Are you all serious?

    Marauders are already getting pingponged in Huttball and now you want other marauders to push you too? -.-

     

    Just remove all the abilites from all the classes and give them all a knockback so we can all push each other away to death.

    And let's call this game "Push Wars"

     

    edit: @Ridisi, A smart operative will cleanse your dots/slows (cleanse removes 2 negative effects). They also have a 10m range root and they can CC and kite you to death. You prob never played against a skilled operative. Their dodge shield also removes all negative effects on them, so snaring them with your Crippling Slash won't help much, it's just a waist of GCD.

    Also, 30stacks of Fury is build in less then 15 seconds (12 seconds to be exactly and even less if you're getting attacked) so I won't call that "burning 30 stacks for predation". You also have frenzy if you want both berserk and predation up (bloodthirst has a 5min CD so get that ability out of the discussion, you can use that ability max 2 times in a WZ)

     

    Btw, I'm going to stop posting in this thread.

    Some people just don't understand that mara's don't need a knockback/push.

  8. When they knockback and root you, use Force Camo or you will get ****ed up.

    When they use their anti-CC cover -> Obfuscate or Saber Ward

    When they're vulnerable to CC, keep trying to get them out of cover with Force Choke and Intimidating Roar (they will need a GCD to get back to cover everytime you get them out of their cover)

    Allway stay behind the sniper, idk if this helps much but just do it :p

    When they use their 100% dodge shield, use smash and force scream or CC them with Force Choke/Initmidating Roar

     

    And for the rest, just keep nuking him and try to keep CoP up. Rotate between your defensive CD's.

     

    Also USE PREDATION !!! it gives 10% melee and defense chance, it's not much but it still helps. When a sniper misses a shot, it's a huge dps loss for them imo.

    This build has the most utility and survivability imo.

     

    80% movement speed is a godsend ability in Huttball to help your WHOLE party, not only yourself. And it helps a lot in Civil War to get first to one of the nodes.

     

    Empowerment helps A LOT with rage generation if your target is constantly bleeding. It would be stupid imo if you didn't take this ability cuz More Rage = More Dps

     

    I also took 1 point out of subjugation, cuz 1 sec or 2 sec doesn't make really much difference cuz you already have Force Charge as an interupt. (you can put this 1 talent point somewhere else if you want)

     

    Don't go for Malice talent, cuz your bleeds are the only force attacks that benefit from it, you're not suposed to use any other force attacks. And you already have Juyo Mastery that gives you 15% more crit chance. Malice is nice tho when you're still running in Centurion and Champion gear, but when you're full BM geared this talent wont help much.

     

     

    Btw, use Sweeping Slash when you have rage left after a fight. You will build Fury with it, so you can start your next fight with Berserk or Predation up. Also, when you have rage left and you're carrying the ball in Huttball, just keep using Sweeping Slash so you can use predation for the "OP" (imo) movement speed for 10 seconds. (When I'm solo queing and playing in Huttball, I NEVER lose that WZ unless I'm playing against a really good premade, Predation is just too nice for scoring)

  10. Push will forver be 100% stronger than pull, and an asset in EVERY situation. When im fighting 1v2, and the Jugg/Sin/Powertech is guarding this squishy, I have ZERO ways to seperate them in order to actually burst down my target. There are a million other situations in which push would be a god send also.

     

    Anyone who thinks that they don't want it for this stupid reason. "Why would I want to push my enemy away from me" shouldn't be pvping to begin with.

     

    Dude, if you think you need a force push with all the *********** CC's and knockbacks in this game, then you really have to l2p your class. Seriously stop asking for something that almost every class has -.-

     

    If you fight against 2 people, you should be able to kill 1 guy, and even if you're not able to kill 1 of them, force camo out and use predation to run away.

    Also, you're not even suposed to fight 1v2 if you're in a premade.

     

    Force push a warrior, he will force charge to you.

    Force push a powertech, he will use his charge or he will pull you.

    Force push an assassin, he will use his force speed to get to you or force pull if he's a tankassin

    Force push ANY ranged class and they will be the happiest guy in the WZ because they're in range.

     

    Operatives are the only class that don't have a real gap closer when you use force push against them, so why would you want an ability for 1 class? -.-

    I rather have force pull for the annoying operatives so they can't kite me anymore.

     

    edit: When someone uses a knockback against me in Voidstar/Civil War, I'm really happy they used it. It just gives me extra resolve for free without getting stunned. (btw, USE PREDATION !!!! it's our 2nd GAP CLOSER when you're knockbacked)

  11. Imo, your animations should change with your alignments

     

    Light side = you get the Jedi animations

    Dark side = you get the Sith animations

    Neutral side = mix of both

     

    (I would still go for the dark side tho, Force Scream FTW)

    Tank spec getting easily 300k+ damage and 50k+ protection in dps gear = OP

    Dps spec that has a hard time getting 300k damage in WZ's or needs consumables to win a 1v1 fight = UP.

     

    Buff VS damage, buff maul (or EW proc so maul has a 100% chance to crit, the talent has to move higher up in the tree then), buff force regen (blackout is not enough) and let Surging Charge give us some self healing when it crits (then we have a usefull Lightning Charge).

  13. We're not JUST talking PvP here, as the OP originally stated that he was looking for good marauders in general, not JUST PvP marauders, and if you want to measure a player by PvE metrics then my assertion is valid.

     

    The entire premise of the thread is highly subjective and fraught with opinions, some of which no doubt concur with your own. The OP asked for good marauders per server, I delivered my opinion, you disagree, good for you. /thread

     

    And you still call yourself the best -.-

    But I agree with you, /thread cuz I can't argue with a r***rd like you

    Marauder: Gio (me), Zèd, Carvalhone (these are the names I just remember) and many others

    Server: Legions of Lettow (the server where nobody is the best)

    Guild: not important

  14. No other marauder has the gear or both "The Unyielding" AND "The Infernal One" titles.. not to mention Battlemaster etc.

     

    If you want to measure it in PvE metrics, then I am the best on the server, because those are the only PvE metrics with which we have to measure due to the fact that there is no combat log and no way to truly check dps. This means by the way, if you didn't know, that myself and my guild have cleared all of nightmare EV and KP in under 2 hours each. Also, we are one of the few guilds to have cleared all of EV on Nightmare 16 man, which is significantly harder than 8 man due to the geniuses at Bioware thinking that abilities that hit for 3/4 of your hp on 8 man should hit for twice that on 16 man.

     

    As far as PvP goes, you just have to take my word for it, but I would welcome anyone that wants to duel me 1v1 and I would put 250k on each duel in my favor if they want to bet. And this extends to any class that wants to duel.

     

    Guild =/= 1 marauder doing all the ****

    Titles/gear/valor rank means nothing. I could kill battlemasters when I was still runnin around in centurion and modded orange gear.

    And if I had smarter and more hardcore people in my guild, we would have cleared them both on NM in less then 2 hours too.

     

    We're talkin about PvP here, I can't just take your word for it. You don't have any rankings or something to call yourself the best.

    And I'm 100% sure that there is atleast 1 guy on your server that is able to beat you in a 1v1 duel. This doesn't mean you can't defeat him, but you can't say you wil allways win a fight cuz winning and losing is a part of duelling. And nobody will win ALL of their duels, it's just impossible. No matter how pro you are or OP your class is, there is allways someone that can defeat you.

     

    So please, stop calling yourself the best -.-

    Like I'm saying, you can't.

    This thread was to show or talk about the "good" marauders and their "skillz". So, there is no "best" marauder, and yet you're calling yourself the "best" of your server.

    edit: Don't take it personal btw, there are lots of good marauders and you may be one of the best on your server but you can't call yourself the best because you CAN'T PROVE IT

     

    You have to wait till ranked WZ's to be able to call yourself the "best" when you're the nr1 ranked marauder on your server.

Tips when fighting an assassin as a marauder : NEVER use your CC breaker on their stun or knockdown, keep it for when they vanish and sap you (if you don't, the assassin can heal himself to full HP with "Seethe" and you will be screwed a.k.a. ***** move). When they use "Force Shroud", use only weapon damage abilites (annihilate, ravage, battering assault, ...). When they use "Deflection", try to DoT the assassin with "Deadly Saber" and use your vanish after. When the assassin uses his force shroud and deflection together, just vanish till his CD's go down.

     

    Tips when fighting a marauder as an assassin : STOP attacking the marauder when he pops "Cloak of Pain" or else he will get 20% damage reduction for 30 seconds. If you stop attacking them, it only lasts for 6 seconds. When a marauder pops "Saber Ward" try to kite him for 12 seconds till his "Saber Ward" wears off.

    If the marauder used his CC breaker for your stun, wait for his resolve bar to get empty, use vanish and sap the marauder to heal yourself to full hp. (this is a ***** move, I NEVER use it but if you're desperate and you really want to win the fight, you can use this)

     

    There are much more tips but these are the basics you have to know when fighting one of both.

  18. Annihilation marauder will win anytime (when both players are equally skilled and know the weaknesses of both classes)

     

    I have a lv50 mara and a lv50 assassin and I can easily kill marauders with my assassin BUT there is no assassin on my server that can kill my marauder.

    Why? Cuz I know the weaknesses of the assassin and I know when to pop my CD's.

    My ravage hits for a total of 7-8k (crit) for NO RAGE COST !!!!

     

    First hit 1,5k, second hit 2,5k and last hit 3,5k (all crit btw, but when I use ravage I have my crit relic up)

    Or 1st hit 1k, 2nd 1.5k and 3rd 2k = 4,5k in 3 seconds (still not bad if none of them crits)

     

    If you use an ability before the last hit, that's a huge dps loss imo.
