  1. I'm a bit confused by the hostility towards the OP as seems to make a great deal of sense to me.

Subsribers know up front how much they pay per month for unlimited access (aparts from x-pacs).

F2P'ers know they have to buy the "bits" that they want or make do with restricted features.

Surely it benefits everyone that the F2P'ers can purchase as many items as possible to remove the restirctions.

Most F2P models I know make it so restrictions can be lifted permanently but at a high premium. The F2P'er can then choose if it's better in the long run to pay each premium (even if that is permanent) or just subsribe. For subsribers it works out better for them if the F2P'ers decide to pay the Premium as that generates more revenue.

Sure in theory a F2P'er could end up owning everything on permanent unlock but as long as a) they have paid a lot more than a subsriber would or b) a good F2P model would never allow a situation where isn't something in the store to purchase, then it doesn't matter.

Pay 800 coins to remove currency cap on 1 character / 2600 all toons? Many F2P'ers would do that generating some decent profit for BW whilst also reinforcing to Subsribers that in the short/medium terms they get a much better deal. Sounds a good diea to me.

    ^This.

  2. I'm earning a legacy level per day doing dailies on 1 character on my new server... that'd be earning 100 ccs PER DAY til cap. And if I rerolled on a new server I could do it all over again and never actually pay for anything... So no.

This could be solved increasing the XP cap for legacy Lvls. And you would still have to get a lvl 50 to star doing dailies. FTPlayers can only have 2 toons, and they have experience cap as well. They would have to grind a little bit.

Anyways, it was just an idea. :rak_04:

  3. They could have the player earn 100CC / Legacy level, working in a similar way to the Favor Points from DDO, at the end of the huge grind the player would have 5k CC which is not a lot, but enough to make anyone smile.

This would make old players happy, since they'll get rewarded for their hard work in the past, and new players aswell. And will probably make F2P stay put a longer time and start thinking about paying something along the way.

  4. Previous to finding out about the slight improvement in the quickbar (IMHO) debacle I decided to find out what It would cost on the free to play option to get what I consider a fully playable character for each of the 16 advanced classes minus consumables.

It would cost 101840 cartel coins, bought the most affordable way is a few cents shy of $730 USD.

    :rak_02:

Dude... whathell you're smoking? I can get every single unlock for less than 10k CC except for the cargo/inventory ones.

Unlock: Crew Skill Slot - 945 account wide

Authorization: Crew Member Appearence 725 account wide

Access Authorization: Section X 1350 account wide

Authorization: Artifact Equipment 2700 account wide

Authorization: Event Equipment Requisition 400 account wide

Customization Control: Display Titles 200 account wide

Customization Control: Hide Head Slot 775 account wide

Customization Control: Unify Colors 775 account wide

Customization Control: Display Legacy Name 200 account wide

8070CC. The rest of the unlocks you can get by playing the game (race unlocks/speeder unlocks), by buying this ammount of CC u're already a Prefered player, so you'll gain for "free"

    - 2 crew skills

    - sprint at lvl 1

    - at least 1 Cargo hold unlocked

Anyways... 8070 is still the same price as paying at least 5 months of subscription... it's not a lot, but's still more than a lot of ppl is willing to pay.

Anyways, the credit cap for Prefered players HAVE TO GO and the XP penalty as well . Aside from that i don't have a lot to complain about the prefered players restrictions. And for F2P i think it's fine for a "demo" of the game.

  5. About time, that fight was absurdly overtuned. Funny thing is, I finally beat him last night.

The fight is not that hard, but if you have a latency above 100 (like me, since i'm from Brazil) it becomes very hard to avoid the Lightning, had to keep running all the time with my consular, and watch he use his other abilities to cast deliverance...

  6. I suspect it is either:

    1) Random is random, so on pure maths you might randomly end up doing the same FP time and time again

    OR

    2) GF takes individual selections into accounts, so:

Member 1 - queues for all

Member 2 - quesues for all

Member 3 - queues for all

Member 4 - queues for Kaon only

    = All members do Kaon

You should consider the impact of things like the rakgouhl weekly quest

That's actually true. I was working on my Achiviement quest last night, and selected only Taral V and Kaon. It was no surprise for me when it popped up a Taral V FP. Aside from yesterday i've normally selected all HMs, and in a whole week, doing about 10 HMs i've only "repeated" Esseless and Battle of Ilum, once each.

  7. I think this is quite simple, why we can't have them at every major town from each planet? I mean, come on, do i really have to stop my quest, go to my ship and finally go to the fleet to turn-in a quest o receive another one? I like to stay abroad, not going back and forth to my space fleet turn in stuff..
